This eyeliner is nicely packaged - small and compact. Needless to say, it's utterly useless. Maybe I bought a lemon but it was semi sheer and didn't stay on at all. It wasn't dark enough, and was very streaky. I couldn't smudge it (it flaked off) and if I tried it with eyeshadow, the liner would come right off. I tried to reapply but the color just didn't want to come out. I gave it another shot a month later and the tube completed dried up. It just isn't work it in my opinion. MAC fluidline for the win! :)

This is a cute looking little liquid eyeliner, but the results are just so-so.

Pros - The small shape is small hand friendly which makes application a breeze. The color is not a genuine true black, but more of a matte black which let's you get away with a "day appropriate" dramatic eye.

Cons - The application is not consistent. Sometimes the color can be too watery and tends to run under my eyes. You have to shake the bottle with each application if you want even color and even then it's not always even. The little pen reminds me of Cover Girl's liquid eye liner which at $5 a pen is $11 cheaper for pretty much the same thing. Overall, I would repurchase this again if the formula was reworked to be longer lasting or waterproof. At least then I could justify the cost.

I'm not one for liquid liner but this is really nice. I got it as part of a kit and thought I would try it out but didn't expect much. I have never found a liquid liner that I could apply and then actually go out in public so I expected much of the same. The felt tip applicator is very easy to work with and gives a nice, smooth, fine line. I was shocked at how easy it was to get a nice result. I normally do a fat smudgy line with BB or Fluidline, etc so this is a different look for me but it's nice. This seems to hold up well and I had no smudging or flaking.

Got this in a best of Stila kit. I love that this liner is teeny...it makes lining very simple. You dont have to deal with a ton of plastic holder just to get around your eyes. The felt tip is great...although I found after a few uses, that the very point of the tip was getting a little soft. The color is a very nice black. It does a bit of a shine to it. I did notice that unless you mix the liner right, you can get skips in color when you apply it. I do love that you have to shake the product, almost ensuring that you get the freshest ink on you lid.

EDIT* took two lippies off. The first few applications where awesome, and then the ink got lighter and more runny, and the felt tip became very soft. Because of its size, I was expecting the product to always be at its best, but have had two of these and both became runny, the ink seemed diluted and the tip bent very easily. Will not repurchase.

Compared to mac gel eyeliner in blacktrack, I would not go with this. However, compared to other liquid liners this is nice.
Pros: pen is short, so its easier to hold against your face when drawing a thin line. Color is very dark. Good lasting power, doesn't smudge

cons: price $20 i think, the amount you get is measly. The entire pen is only about 3 inches long so I doubt this would last you more than 1-2 months if you apply regularly. If you press too hard, too much can come out.

I absolutely love this. As a Lancome Artliner devotee, that is saying a lot. This is really black! I mean, incredibly so. I got a mini one in the Stila Purrfect Cat Eye Palette thing from Sephora and Iam buying afull sized version ASAP! Well done, Stila.

I have edited my original review because I have been disappointed with the staying power of this liner in hot weather. Bobbi Brown gel liner lasts much longer. Stila Liquid Eye Liner is like a tiny magic marker with a tiny point that allows you - with a certain degree of skill and dexterity - to create a thin or thick line. (Gently pull the skin at the outer corner taught if you want a cat's eye look.) The main reason I bought this was for travel - my gel liners, whether MAC, BB, or Stila, require a brush to apply, and then you have to find a sink to wash the brush. In a hotel this is not a problem, however; when sharing a bathroom at a friend's house, it is handy to be able to apply your liner whether you currently have access to a sink or not. However, I think I will have to find a longer lasting liquid liner because this one doesn't hold up all day. Sad, because I liked it a lot when I first bought it. UPDATE: I have since bought L'oreal Lineur Intense in Earthen Rock Brown for $8.50. It lasts longer than the Stila liquid liner and has the same kind of felt tip pen applicator. However, I recommend buying the Black in L'oreal as the Earthen Rock Brown color doesn't show up enough. 2nd UPDATE: Lancome Artliner in Brown is the best liquid liner I've found.

I got this during the warehouse sale this year and it is worth much more than the $5 I paid for it, I should have gotten more!

It's very small, fits in the palm of your hand and is very easily portable. The tip is felt and you just give it one or two shakes to get the color to the applicator. It's not an incredibly rich black but it has enough color to make a difference, even with a very thin line. I just swiped it on my hand and it is not coming off without water. As for my eye, I did notice that after applying at 8 in the morning, it's gone by 5 in the afternoon, but I don't expect much to stay on my oily eyelids for that long amount of time. Definitely easy enough to re-apply anyway.

I hadn't worn liquid eyeliner for years as I had memories of shaky lines from brush applicators and quickly gave up on them. Seeing that Stila had released one with a felt tip applicator I felt it was time to give it another go.
And what a difference the applicator makes! It's a firm, sharply pointed felt tip that lets me do a really fine line, or build up to a more dramatic cat eye with little effort or patience.
The liner itself is a rich matte black and the staying power is amazing. It lasts all day on me and looks as fresh 10 hours after I first apply it with no smudging or flaking.
When I first got it I was surprised at how small it was, but this actually works to its advantage as it makes it easier to hold and get control as I'm applying it.
Pricewise, it's $16 for 0.015oz which is on par or cheaper than the likes of Shiseido, CK or Lancome. I would prefer it if they made these refillable like Shiseido's liquid eyeliner pens and I think the packaging could be a little fatter so they can get more product in (without compromising the ease of handle). Stila's Smudge Pots are better value for money for the amount of product you get, and you can get quite a similar look, but this liquid liner gives a better result for a real retro-style cat eye.

UPDATE: I didn't use this for a few weeks and it completely dried up. Tried storing it tip side down for a few days as Stila suggested to me, but it made no difference. There should still have been plenty of product left.
