I'm a mascara freak. Tried them all. Love Diorshow but was talked in to Guerlain. It's a great mascara - wonderful consistency, long lasting, but (and this is a big but), it's a mess. The container gets all covered in mascara, my drawer is covered in mascara and most days I end up having mascara on my hands (as a testament it doesn't come off easily so that's a good thing in terms of staying power). I like this product but found I was continually cleaning the outside of the tube. Didn't find the second "gel" part of the tube too worthwhile.

I have this in limited edition "Butterfly Sparkle" from the 2008 Holiday Collection and I simply adore it! I am on my second backup. The large one is a true black and the small one is a shimmery purple. It makes my lashes look really fake, providing volume and length at the same time, without smudging. It also holds the curl really well. I only need two or three coats. Compared to other HE mascaras, which are really nice (Diorshow, Helena Rubinstein, Lancome Design Pro, YSL Faux Cils), this is the only one that makes my lashes so thick and long at the same time and, most important, so good-looking. I was also surprised when I used the small brush on my lower lashes, which, although not invisible, they aren't particularly dense or long either. Well, I can't describe it, the small brush was like it was "designing/drawing" lashes on me, it was incredible. The purple shimmer color was also beautiful as a top coat. I will definitely repurchase it in other colors.

I don't like this product.
But I love Guerlain :)

It has two brushes - first is very short, second is longer , but shorter is better ( I dont know why?).
Aplication is hard.Clumpy, sticky, brrrr , waste of money!!

This is the best mascara I have ever used. I have small sparse lashes and just one coat of this mascara magnifies them and makes them look long and luscious. No clumping, no smudging, just easy application and long lasting result. I don't find it hard to remove either, those who think it is should try Givenchy's Phenomen'eyes mascara, now THAT one is hard to remove. Since I have discovered this mascara I haven't looked back and have and will re-purchase it again and again.

Waste of money!
My lashes looked fuller without this mascar than with - it clamped them all! Using disposable MAC brushes for applications also didn't improve anything.
The smalleer brush workes better for my lashes but still clamps a lot.
But I have to admit that this mascara holds curl very well.
I'll never-ever buy it again - it is just not for my lashes.

If I would know how to attach photos, you could see my lashes on them:

Le 2 is very good mascara to one that really fits.
It's pleasure to apply it because it has gentle flowery smell like Maitresse by Agent Provocateur.
Application is easy and doesn't take much time in morning. It has brush that easily combs all the amount of mascara without making few fat eyelashes. Surprisingly it stays a long time in shape, because it's quite soft and light. It even resisted snow. For the first time in life I didn't return home looking like Alice Cooper because snow would make mascara reside under eyes 0-o.
Washing away is not that easy, but it doesn't stick to hands and there is no problem with it.
Only thing is that I see no use in small brush. I didn't use that.

I bought the mascara when it originally came out and really wanted to love it as i love guerlain products. And I couldn't believe it when my lashes started falling out when I used it. I didn't realize it was the mascara causing it but as soon as I stopeed using it, my lashes stopped falling out.
I decided to try it out a month later again and the same thing happened....my lashes started to fall out.... :(

So unfortunately I will never buy it again and still can't believe that this happened! :(

Just hideous!...and so expensive!
Thank God I only got 5 samples of it and not the real thing.

Clumpy, sticky, spider lashes with clots everywhere!!!!!

Not easy to get it off either....

With so many better mascaras out there, this one is just money down the drain..... Might as well get Great Lash....you'll get the same mess....

This is a good mascara colour and volume vise. But getting it off is a nightmare. This is the only reason I won't even finish using mine and will never buy it again. Actually now I have a phobia of buying an expensive mascara and not being able to get it off.

Today while I was in Sephora the m/a who was helping me had he longest lashes I had ever seen. I actually asked which brand she was wearing, she said your the 3rd one today who asked me that, I'm not wearing false lashes I'm wearing Le 2 de Guerlain. I was sold and had to have a tube. $38 later I applied it 3 times trying to get it right, it was gloppy and would not dry, no matter how much I wiped off the wand my lashes clumped and stuck together looking spikey. I also have to add it pulled the curl right out after using the Shu lash curler. It was a waste of $38.00

Given I am a huge Guerlain makeup junkie, I am surprised I only got to test this recently. I did actually try it our when it first came out through one of those carded samples Guerlain was giving out, but those cannot give you the right impression of the quality of this mascara at all! So with this one, you cannot go by testers (or the disposable sticks you get at the counters), you have to actually get the full product to see the full benefits.
I started out with the purple as I've been searching for a long time for purple mascara to which I will not be allergic. Thinking I might be lucky I tried Le 2, but alas, no luck. But that's just me, I am allergic to all purple pigments. However the SA was kind enough and exchanged it for me for the blue one. Blue is a beautiful deep blue, very sophisticated, but I don't want to go into the full review for that colour here, I actually posted a separate review for blue if you are interested.
Finally, I contemplated about getting the black, only because I wasn't sure if black was black enough. My standard are kohl black mascaras (L'oreal and Diorshow), but I haven't been super happy with their performance lately. When I realized that volume and lengthwise Le 2 was my perfect mascara, it was just a matter of making sure the colour is deep enough. Well, all I can tell you that colour-wise I see no difference between this and Diorshow Blackout, which means, this is a deep black colour. I finally purchased this in black and I couldn't be happier. This is my now my HG mascara!
It is a lot easier to manipulate vs. Diorshow in terms of the brush size (no smudging on the lids for me, finally!) and for the first time in many many years, I don't have to use the lash comb even with 2 coats of mascara. Wow! Yes, I get long, think and luscious lashes and everyone keeps asking me if I wear falsies! I guess that says something. Highly recommended, my definite HG, I just cannot believe it too me so long to discover!

This is amazing. I wore it for my wedding day. Lasted through all tears.
I wore it on the honeymoon. After a 13 hour flight...no flaking.
Just glorius, full, thick, dark, Jasmine-like lashes. On the top and the bottom!

Hard to remove however. I would recommend MakeUp Forevers Gentle Eye Remover, works like a charm and it works on everything. :)

I have to agree with everyone on this mascara, it IS pricy but you really get the bang for your buck because my eyelashes look so thick and long when wearing it. I have never found another mascara that looks so well on me. Also, the container is a work of art ..... silver and just a beautiful long design. I'm afraid that I'm addicted to it now so I don't see myself ever changing mascaras again.

Yeah, so it is pricey but I really love this mascara because you get a huge payoff after just a couple strokes! Long thick lashes- plus it holds a curl, plus my last tube didn't go dry for at least three months, which is more then I can say for many of the other higher-end ones I have purchased. Super love the great false lash look it gives me. This one goes in my top three for sure!!

This is an amazing mascara! The packaging is beautiful, but most of all I love the brush! I use the small brush that's meant for lower lashes on my top lashes too, it never makes any clumps. It separates the lashes so well! The bigger brush works well too. The formula doesn't smudge as long as I put some powder on my lashes before applying. There is a distinct Guerlain smell but it doesn't bother me. Very expensive but worth it, I'd buy it again.

This mascara really defines my lashes and gives them length. I use the smaller brush as a top coat and sometimes on my lower lashes. What kills me is the price, but I like this mascara much more than others so I will keep using it until the next big one comes along.

I expected so much more from this mascara, it didnt give me much volume or length, it is very difficult to remove....took me ten minutes each time to get this stuff off. It also made my eyes water alot. Not worth the money at all.

The packaging is what made me buy this product initially. I am a sucker for pretty things.
At first I wasn't overly impressed with my lashed after applying but after I played around with it a bit I really like the effect that it gives. Really makes my lashes long.
The small brush is great for getting in the corners.
I find that it smudges a little.I do have a bad habit of rubbing my eyes when I am tired though.
The main draw back for me is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I am using twice as much eye makeup remover as I usually do. Even when I am CERTAIN I have got it all off I still wake up the next morning with panda eyes.
