I was surprised when i first tried this facial serum as its consitancy and texture was unlike all other serums I have used before. It is clear wih a watery gel like consistency which sinks in to the skin quickly. My skin feels quite dry after using the serum so would not be suitable for anyone that has dry skin but I would reccomend it to those with oily/combination skin. I have had quite a few blemishes since using this serum but I dont think this treatment is designed for my skin type as I dont have typical acne prone skin. The blurb on the back of the product says that one should continue to use the product for 3 months to notice significant improvements in the skin so i will continue to use it before I write it off completely.

About a month ago I started using this line and my skin has never looked back. I went crazy and purchased this product, along with the expert sensitive hydrating serum, cleansing lotion, toner, face cream, eye cream, anti-redness serum and 2-in-1 acne mask/scrub. I love how all of these products can be used together, and the acne ones don't burn my skin. Been using this serum for about a month and while I still have the occasional hormonal breakout, my acne prone skin has been more even and the breakouts are smaller. Seems to work best when used in conjunction with the other products I mentioned. Will update if things change but so far will definitely repurchase.

This is my first product from this anti-blemish range. I kind of like it. One small bottle lasts a long time because only one pump can cover my whole face. The texture is quite watery, which I don't mind, because this means it's easy to apply and blend into the skin. It's cooling and soothing. I'm using an acne cleanser and acne toner right now, and although these products really help me fight against acne, they also make my skin dry. So, I'm looking for some day moisturizer that can sooth my dryness and moisture my skin. And I have to say this product really does its job. After this serum I just continue with my sunscreen and makeup routine. So far nothing irritates my skin. It's a very safe serum if you have acne prone skin and want to stay from those nutrient and rich serum.

I havent even used this product for a week yet, but wanted to write a mua review on my thoughts so far!!
PRICE--- I bought this at boots in the UK for 4.50GBP, which is very reasonbly priced for a facial serum, as wit all of the boots expert range- which after i read reviews on MUA i felt compelled to try as they are reported to be very effective at clearing the skin from blemishes.
PACKAGING-- The product comes in a cylinder shaped bottle, with sealed top and pump-very good for making sure the product does not get contaminated. The packaging is functional, certainly not glossy or luxurious-its a targeted skincare range, its not pretending to be anything else.
PRODUCT-- The serum is super light, not oily in the slightest (btw i have quite oily skin, especially in the t zone) My skin just drinks up the serum. It is easy to apply and goes on very smoothly, and does not make my t zone any more oily at all, a problem that i get with a lot of serums for some reason? Even chanels purete serum. The box states for you to let the serum sink in completely till you aplply your moisturiser, which i did, and it couldnt of took no more than 15secs for it to sink in compeltely. It felt pleasant to apply- absolutely no fragrance, which i liked as i have sensitive skin. This does not feel luxurious in the slightest, but its not claiming to be, and for 4.50GBP you dont expect it to be really!
RESULT-- As i said i havent really been using this for long enough to comment much on any results, boots recommend using for 1 month before seeing any change to your skin. I do like using this serum though, and i do think my skin has started to clear up already, although i hace a few minor blemishes that were about to come out, i think this serum brought them to the surface, what with serums going deeper into the skin and all!
I will update in due course, when i can give more info on results!

This product has turned out to be an excelent addition to my skin care regimen. After about a month of consistent use my skin is 95% clear and all my blackheads, which were quite a few, are gone! I just bought my second bottle and I can't wait to continue using it and see how my skin improves further. I'm tempted to buy the rest of the anti-blemish products, but I'm actually pretty happy with what I'm using right now. If my Clinique 3-step ever stops working or something, I'd probably switch.
Finally, a blemish treatment that really works and doesn't dry or irritate my skin in the least! The world needs to know about this stuff!

I have a funny relationship with this whole range. I first starting using it back in late May, 2008 and it literally saved my skin. I was 90% clear the whole time right through to September, using this range and nothing else. Hence the 4 lippies. However, came autumn and somehow this range just stopped working!!!!! :((((((((((( It's now December and my skin is still crap. I have no freaking idea why it stopped working though... argh!! Anyway, back to the serum. It's a thick, clear liquid that contains a naturally derived form of salicylic acid and only a thin layer is required IMO. It did (note the past tense... ha) prevent blemishes from forming and worked (the past tense again.... sadly!!) beautifully with all the other products in the line. I'd say give it a try definitely given the price (back then I bought the whole range for 12 pounds!!) and it might do for you what it did for me :)

I really wanted to love this range :(
I expected to really like this stuff, whatwith serums apparently going 'deeper' into the skin. However, the order of the top 3 ingredients is as such: Water, Glycerin, Salicylic Acid. It felt like thick water, so I'd be interested to know just how much of every other ingredient is in there, as it had exactly the same effect as rubbing water on my face would. Won't repurchase.

They're not called Boots Expert for nothing. At £4.99 for 30ml this is the cheapest range I've ever bought (and I do use almost the entire range of Boots Expert Anti-Blemish products because nothing else has worked on my rubbish skin). This range really works wonders and I've noticed a huge difference in only two days! My red, lumpy, itchy, sore, huge ugly spots are now much reduced in both size and redness and I can no longer feel they're there - FANTASTIC! Wish I'd tried this range sooner - what caught me was the first words on the back are: "Whatever your age..." as I didn't want a harsh, teenage spot remedy as my spots aren't due to greasy skin - just 33 year old hormones! I use this serum in conjunction with their anti-blemish cleansing foam, toner and concealer duo lotion (please see my reviews of these) and I'm getting the anti-blemish day moisturiser (SPF 15!!) and night moisturiser tonight (thank god they're open 'til 8pm). I'll update in 2 weeks - hopefully spot-free!
UPDATE: Better late than never! It's been over a month now since I started using this entire range and my skin has never looked so clear. Will definitely continue using this range and I'm going to try the Boots Expert Anti Redness Serum or Bio Oil aswell.
