I recently purchased a set of Dior minis – they are some of the most attractive mini bottles to be found: J’adore, Midnight Poison, Miss Dior Cherie and this, Addict Shine. I had thought the latter would be the weak link, and expected the kind of boring floral, fruity and shampoo flanker I’ve come to expect from fragrances called ‘2’, ‘Shine’, ‘Eau fraiche’ etc.
Well, it’s true that I certainly have sniffed this before, but it isn’t what I expected. Addict Shine is in the same bag as: D&G Light Blue, Anna Sui Secret Wish, Bond Scent of Peace, Paul Smith Floral, Lanvin Eclat d’arpege, Moschino I Love Love, and so on. Being a Dior, it lasts longer, is a little bit warmer and sexier, but the blueprint is the same – citrus, other fruit, gentle florals, clean musk, amber and cedar. The gardenia comes through a little, giving a very faint nod to J’adore.
The main difference between Shine and the other gang of citrus’n’cedar soldiers, is that this isn’t fresh. If you are looking for a night time version of these scents, this might be your ideal fragrance – it’s almost the parfum equivalent. It gets zero points for originality, but is certainly enjoyable.

My first impression was that this was a nice, light, fruity floral. It was pleasant and not at all overwhelming. Although it wears off very quickly. Underneath, though, there is a slight hint of something, maybe raspberry, that I just didn't like, which comes off, on me, almost mango-ish smelling. If that note was missing, I would like it much better.

I love this as my "winter 'light blue." It is a really warm, soft floral with citrus-y top notes just like Dolce & Gabbana's fragrance Light Blue, although D&G's is very crisp and summer-y to me, and this one seems warmer and better for cooler winter months. It has great staying power too. Nice option to have during the drab winter.

I was always quite sceptical about Dior perfumes, however, when I decided to give a try to this one when it came out I was surprised by its' lightness and appeal. I usually like light fragrances for the mornings and daytime so this seemed indeed a perfect youthful summer scent regardless its' floral side, taking into consideration I'm far from a floral scent fan. This fragrance is a fusion of cedrat, a fresh middle note of gardenia and raspberry, and a sensual base note of cedar woods. I also enjoy the grapefruit and musk here. The greatest disadvantage, however, is its' staying power so it makes too little value for money in the end. The package is very appealing to me due to my love for minimalism. Would probably repurchase because this definitely is an addiction.

Starts off really sweet, then dries down. It's hard for me to describe how it smells but I don't like it. It smells cheap.

seriously, this smells like something you would buy in victoria's secret. i bought it to spray on myself to cover up sweat/b.o./lack of personal hiegeyne, etc... it's pretty good, but the smell is almost painfully citrusy/flowery/spicy after a while. if you wanna buy this, i swear, just go to victoria's secret and save 20 bux.

A bit sweet then vanishes into nothing so fast you can barely smell it. I don't see how the price is justified. I love the bottle, though.

I got a free sample of this fragrance from Sephora. I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be my cup of tea, and when I eventually tried it, I found I was right.

I didn't smell much of the citrus top notes that I've read are featured in this fragrance, rather what I noticed immediately was a very fruity and sweet sort of sugar-teen blast of syrup. It reminded me of all of these body-mist fruit-splash, raspberry kinds of things that the girls used to douse themselves in when I was 14.
The smell stays basically the same as it develops, though I like the drydown better than the opening notes.

I think this smell good. In an Herbal Essenses way.

Really, it is very pleasant and peachy. I kept on smelling the back of my hand. It is non-offensive.

But I feel hesitant in putting down my bucks on perfume that smells like shampoo or deodorant (albeit an expensive shampoo..).

This is the fragrance that I have been wearing for the past 1 week, and as my perfume reviews will give some indication, I hardly wear anything continuously for more than a few days. Dior Addict Shine is nothing compared to Dior Addict, and is also more palatable than Dior Addict 2, if one is looking for a youth fragrance. Shine is smoother than Addict 2, which can be very sharp with its grapefruit opening. Shine starts with a very lightly done note of raspberry. Berries, if done badly, can come across as too tart or too cloying, and these effects are thankfully absent from Shine. Compared to the offerings of these couple of scents, this is rather non-descript, being the fruit, floral and woody type of composition. I can, for example, smell some semblance to F for Fascinating by Salvatore Ferragamo. But the smoothness of Shine outshines its competition. The fresh raspberry and citrus progresses effortlessly to a watery Gardenia note, before ending up in a clean woody smell. The notes are well-blended, yet each stands out on its own. I have not come across such a well-balanced and wearable white floral for the longest time. I am taking out one lippie, however, for its lack of staying power. I cannot smell myself at all after 4 hours, unless I re-apply. For something that is pretty pricey, it can be serious inpediment to being a regular product in my fragrance wardrobe.

This is exactly what I imagined the Clean fragrance would smell like. Very clean, a bit citrus and a bit fruity. Doesn't smell perfumey at all, just "hey, you smell nice and clean", which I personally love. The bottle is very uninspiring though, and it's quite expensive also for a basic fragrance like this. Lasting power is not excellent. But yes, would probably repurchase.

Btw, Yves Rocher has a fragrance that is practically IDENTICAL to this one, it's called Naturelle. Maybe it has better staying power.

My friend gave me a sample of this to try and I must say I dont really get all the hype? All I got from this was a plain and simple citrus mess. I love citrusy perfumes but, this one was very one dimensional. What I got in the top notes was exactly the same in the base notes. Boring. Plus, the lasting power was horrible. No sale.

The most AMAZING of scents. Very light, fresh, sophisticated and feminine. This scent has never given me a headache and never suffocates me with overbearing notes. My one qualm is that it doesn't have much staying power but it always takes me far too long to use up an entire bottle of perfume and the smell is just so incredible; I'm not deducting anything.

FABULOUS!!! I love this scent so much that I spent $76 on the big bottle and another $15 on a purse-sized atomizer so I won't ever be without it. This is a lovely pick-me-up scent which does not trigger a migraine, does not smell like a tween, and does not come in a gaudily be-jeweled container with charms hanging off it. The packaging is simple and classy, the smell IMO is perfect for 20-and-30-somethings (and perhaps mature teens), and is a mood-lifter. I will repurchase.

Wow, I love this perfume! It's been a long time since I found something I really loved so much but this is it!!! It's citrusy, fresh, sweet, white floral, so, so pretty, compliments galore. Great daytime scent and a little sexy for nights out too. :O)

Same as pretty much everyone else. This stuff is a guy MAGNET. It smells SO EFFING GOOD. I can't get enough of it, and half my $40 bottle was gone quick since the scent does not last long at all. You have to re-apply and re-apply it. I sprayed it every time I went to the bathroom at a club and every time I went out I got compliments that I smelled so good! I will buy the $70 larger bottle.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scent. its so girly and fresh, prefect for spring. However, it does not last long at all. (max 15 mins) i really wish dior will make it longer lasting!! the bottling is ok, i used to collect perfume bottles but this one is not that pretty to collect. Again, I LOVE the SMELL!! but not how long it lasts.
