Rush is a perfect name for this scent. It give you a rush when you smell it. Kinda like the first sip of a really good cocktail. Energetic and lively. An original scent and intense. I love the box first of all, hot fiery red. It isn't a scent for everyone. You need to be confident. I get a hint of gardenia which is my all time favourite flower next to jasmine. Usually gardenia is soft powdery flower but with the mixture of patchouli and coriander it becomes powerful on a whole new level. But I wouldn't say it is heady at all. Its more sharp and impulsive.

I smelt this when it first came out in 1999 and I found it too grown up. My mom had bought it and I liked it on her. It honestly reminds me of Sex and the City when the show first came out and was actually GOOD! Lively energetic attractive and independant women should wear this!!!

Second time I smelt it was on my aunt. She's a hip chic mom with a tight body, sexy jeans and fashionable tops and rocks a jet black pixie cut with Jackie O glasses....she's the type of style I want to have if I become a mom. No tracky bottoms or slumpy tops for her. She's a glamours lady and this perfume suits her attitude which is pretty is confident and opinionated.

So I can't wait to purchase this one day.

At first scent is too strong for my taste. It needs some time to settle down , and come up with beautiful warm smell. Also big down side for me is that everyone 's wearing it, so it doesn't make you feel special like perfume should. Overal: nice perfume , even though it's packed in non appealing plastic package , and despite everyone having it. It's a nice winter fragrance that can keep you warm if you like stronger, even gourmand scents, like myself.

'LOOK AT ME!', this screams! There is no escaping it as soon as you have sprayed it on! Please do not spray it on to go to the office (or choir, everyone will hate you!). This is brash, loud and in your face and something of an attention seeker.

Very sweet and floral. I can't decide whether I love it or hate it! I might save it for when I'm out for a night and maybe want to be paid a bit of attention. There is no escaping this. I sprayed a little on my wrists - as i usually do - and everywher I went I was asked, 'What is that perfume?' I prefer perfume to be more up close and personal than that.

I hate the packaging! My mum was trying to help my brother pick out a perfume for me and thought this was wonderful. I think it is tacky, but then i think that is the point of this perfume. Unpretentious gaudiness. On the plus side, the packaging is probably quite good for preserving your perfume from direct sunlight.

I can't see me buying it again but i will use this up because I hate to see a good perfume go to waste. If you want to be the centre of attention, go ahead. Otherwise, steer clear!

I used to love this intensely when I was a teenager and I recently bought it again thinking that it will be the rekindling of an old passion. Loved it in the store. But when I got home I sprayed some on and was nauseous within the first 15 minutes, the spicy rose just gave me a headache. I tried it the next couple of days because I desperately wanted to enjoy it like I did 5 years ago. Nothing. I'm definitely giving it away although it hurts me to know I spent that amount on a perfume that I was convinced I was going to adore again. And I do resonate with everyone that said it's an old lady scent.

I used to wear Gucci Rush when I was around 19, but even then I liked it for a couple of months before my love turned to hatred :- ( I understand that scents are very particular to the wearer so this is just my personal opinion. There is something about this scent that now makes me feel nauseous when I smell someone wearing it, I am not sure which note it is but there is something too harsh, chemical and acidic. Maybe with the right chemistry it smells ok but I can never wear this one again! It has such an odd smell, not distinctive in a good way but overpowering. I like unusual perfumes but this one is on my list of baddies.

Gucci rush is an explosion of a rose sex bomb. That's the best way I can describe it. It's the kind of smell that once it hits you it sends you into a different sort of world, where romance, love, passion, & heart throbbing sex are key themes. It evokes the intensity of lust & is probably the most feminine perfume I have ever smelt if worn under the right context.

I think the reason rush is either loved or hated is because the success of the smell depends entirely on how you wear it. Basically rush is not a casual fragrance & if you are wearing it daily when you are not glammed up then it's going to smell cloying, heavy, & possible childish. It is so intensely feminine that during the day time it'll probably smell like raspberry soda pop mixed in with bourbon lol.

At night when you are all dressed up & you're makeup is glamourous & you have a splash of red on your lips, gucci rush is the siren of sirens. It is the smell that beats all the rest - the one that captures like a femme fatale predator that is so strongly sensual that other women are afraid to even look her way because of the attention she demands off the male species lol. It's the kind of smell that girlfriends of the gucci rush girl will admire. The kind that makes them want to be part of her pact that attracts boys & men to her & her group like flies lol.

The gucci rush woman does really smell like a fashionable miss who loves boys more than anything. Her girls are important to her but their main interest are the boys. They are like boy magnets & the rush girl is the leader of the pac.

The synthetic notes in the scent are not noticeable at night and blend in perfectly with synthetic atmospheres such as clubs, bars, expensive restaurants, etc. It's classy in it's own fashionable way, in a down right direct & sexy way. It's classy for the woman who is sexually confident & is happy to communicate this in her scent. It's classy in the way that it makes you the most sexually irresistible woman in the room without making you smell cheap. It's the smell of a girl who is a whore for her husband or boyfriend & no
one else. It screams I want you to do me but does so in a way that is exclusive to the man she desires. It communicates to other men that she loves sex & that she would not be afraid to show that to the man she desired.

Having said all this, the scent is paradoxical enough that it also smells romantic. What I'm saying is that it's sexual smelling in a romantic way. It doesn't smell like you're going to get on with the first guy that approaches you. It's the smell of a woman who knows the type of guy she wants & is ready to be swept of her feet & seduced by him when she finds him.

During the day gucci rush is a bit too synthetic for my liking. It can smell strong & demands too much attention in a natural setting. If it were to be worn during the day time, the tiniest spray would be enough & even then you would have to make sure that you looked the part. You cannot wear gucci rush dressed in cargo pants & a puma tee. I like to dress casual a lot of the time in the day so I guess gucci rush isn't the best option for me when I do. At least if you live dressing casual you need to have some makeup on. Gucci rush is a made up perfume, it's a smell that fits in best with made up skin, eyes, & lips. It smells warm & bronzed up skin would help ooze out it's sexuality.

I received gucci guilty last week from my boyfriend & I live it as a daytime alternative to rush! Guilty is softer & more self indulgent than rush. It's sexy in a more subdued way & is perfect for a lighter alternative. It's also a little prettier & more relaxing than rush which has more of that red romantic streak. Their both sexy, intoxicating fragrances which could only be worn by women who are confident enough to pull them off. Guilty has a little bit more personality - it's self indulgent, you don't care who or what others expect of you when you're wearing it. Gucci rush is a little more directly sexy - when you wear it, it sets a romantic & sexy mood where all you want to do is be seduced by the ocean with the waves crashing on the shore, splashing you and your lovers tanned skin as you make passionate love. Guilty makes love to your skin while rush makes live to the woman inside you. Guilty is intoxicating indulgent while rush is intoxicatingly romantic & both are super sexy smells that are perfect for different ocassions. My two hg's! :-D

I fell in love with this scent when it came out in late 1999, based purely on the ad (with scent strip, that is) in 'Elle'. On me it's mostly light patchouli, something of a rainy scent, but with a sweetness and a hint of a synthetic note that make it totally different from anything else I own. I still love it, but I find myself a bit glum when wearing it, so I find myself actively avoiding it these days - it isn't that I don't like the way it smells, I just feel depressed when wearing it. No idea why. I don't have any complaints with the bottle except that you can't see how much is left. The summer version, for the record, is nasty and sharp (plus citrus tends to go BO on me), so I don't advocate that - applied lightly, the original is fine for summer. Emphasis on lightly, as it's quite strong no matter the time of year. I like to spray the back of my neck, and that's plenty.

This smelled so much better on the person that got this for me. It smells okay on me but It's not something I would buy myself. It smells flowery to me but it's definitely a sexy sort of smell I'd reserve for nights out. It's strong in a good way, you only need a little spritz.

My current favorite! Yes, it is sexy and strong but I use it in the daytime too (I just use very little of it), and it works for me. I get compliments and feel sexier when I'm wearing it. As for the packaging, I like it. I think it's different. The smell itself is sweet, and what I like the most about it is that it does not have that alcohol smell that many fragrances have. And it does not give me a headache by the end of the day. It stays a long time. Awesome!

Whoever thinks Gucci Rush smells like an old lady must have gotten a whiff of a very sexy old lady! IMO this fragrance is much too daring and sexy to be associated with the elderly. Instead, Gucci Rush makes me think of a woman who is confident, sexy, bold yet mysterious. It's a fragrance I wear on a hot date or on a night on the town. It's definitely not for everyone, being that's it's pretty strong and has a rather distinguishable scent, but I think those that love it, REALLY love it. Once you've smelled Gucci Rush, you will never forget its scent. Such an amazing, sexy perfume.

Notes listed: Gardenia, Freesia, Jasmine, Vanilla, Patchouli.

Yes please! Smells like candy, and the boys like it! I have a few perfumes I love, this is maybe my fav. I get so many compliments from the boys with this one! Usually girls are giving out the compliments when it comes to perfume, you know?
I like that it smells good, but not too strong.

I love this perfume. SO MUCH. I think it is a take-it-or-leave-it scent.(as you can probably see from the diverse reviews below)

I am not good at describing scents, but Gucci Rush, I can say for sure, has a very unique scent. I don't think it's flowery nor musky, I think it's what people call an "oriental" scent.

I personally will not use it in the summer, as it reminds me of dry leaves in the winter (I don't know why). I prefer to use a fruity perfume in the summer.

I just love it so much that I have to hold it right under my nose since the moment I buy it. It's addictive!

I quite like the packaging, it's chic, but the downside is that it does not have a lid, so I keep thinking that the perfume will evaporate. I keep that outer packaging (the paper box) wrapping around the perfume itself, hoping that would help a little.(silly me, I know...)

I think this is quite expensive, as it has come out for years, and the price hasn't gone down a tiny little bit.(or is it just the place I bought it from?)

Anyway, I absolutely love this perfume, and will repurchase it whenever it runs out!

I was so eager to try this, given its 5-star rating in "The Guide". My first try was a spray from a store tester, and I could well understand why this intense fruity/candy/milky concoction had been such a hit. Nice! But several weeks later when I bought myself a 'bottle', the experience was somewhat less pleasant. My nose was assailed by a strong, chemical "bug spray" odour which overpowered all else and gave me a headache and tingling in my fingertips - as if reacting to exposure to a toxic substance. Another reviewer mentioned the word "ozone" and I have to agree that the chemical odour was like that given off by an overworked photocopier. Luckily I had only sprayed once on my wrist and not all over. I am perplexed as to why my first experience with this fragrance was pleasant while the second was quite the opposite. But I do know I won't be spraying from that shiny red box again.

this is something that sits on my dresser and I'll only put it on when I'm in mood for it.
What i like about this scent is that it's sweet and it's very distinct. I generally dont like fragrances that smell "perfumey".
Gucci rush is a little too overpowering for me especially during the initial spray, so I have to spray this in the air and sort of walk under to catch the mist lol.
It's a fragrance that will leave an impression on others which is what I like. It's unique.

This was a gift. It is VERY sweet, feminine and kinda lusty though I kinda like it although it is way too strong and a bit old fashioned. Sound full of contradictions :D

It is only nice in the winter. If you use it in the summer and in a lift, it can give others headache I bet.

I really had to chose a favourite perfume this would probably be it. Gucci Rush is down right sensual. I would never wear this during the day because I don't think it's appropriate to walk around the office smelling lie sex, but this is my favourite (and my boyfriend's) night time fragrance. It's bold, it's floral and spicey, and has just the right amount of non sickley sweetness running underneath it all. It always makes me think of the heavy scent of flowers in hot humid air (if that makes any sense) . Or sex on a tropical island. I'm telling you people this is one damn sensual perfume, there are no grassy, aqautic, fruit smells going on here. I think the actual notes are gardenia, freesia, jasmine, vanilla, and patchouli (but not that awful patchouli that makes me think of hippies!). I think it's a beautiful fragrance, not for the faint of heart, but when you're feeling hot (and I mean hot in a Brigette Bardot way, not the Paris Hilton way) there is nothing out there that expresses that quite like Gucci Rush.

I received this as a gift and strongly suspect it was re-gifted to me as a graduation gift. I am surprised I never reviewed this product. Personally, I am not a fan. I could easily picture this on someone who is European, wears clubbing clothes, and loves to party. However on me it was far too overwhelming and cheap. On me it smells like strong flowers and candy with a gasoline undertone. There was no room for forgiveness or softening. It was just way too strong. I tried to spray it into the air, and then walk into it. However it still did not smell attractive on me, and remained strong.

I am also disappointed with the packaging. I don’t like plastic packaging, especially on expensive name brands. I expect glass or metal (even a little plastic is fine) but this just seems like a rip off.

I suppose if there is a bright side to this, for those who do enjoy the fragrance, it is long lasting and won’t fade quickly. It can easily get you through a day, you might even wake up and still smell like Gucci Rush the following day if you don’t shower.
For me, this was a no go.
Happy Shopping.
