I have made the commitment to stick to Dermalogica products because I was bouncing around too much to so many different lines, always getting overwhelmed and being inconsistent.

Let me say that I don't know how an average woman does not get confused trying to figure out the maze that is skin care, because as someone who is trained in skin care, I even find it so! (I guess that's how they want us though... we buy more that way!)

I love this cleanser. I have oilier, acne prone skin, and it makes me feel fresh and clean, yet doesn't strip my skin at all. I use it in combination with my Clarisonic brush, and it really gets in there. I feel tht it reduces my breakouts. As with all Dermalogica products (esp. their cleansers), you have to use VERY little to get the job done, so even though the price point is high, the bottle will last about 5 months.

I have slightly acne prone combination skin and I have never had an adverse reaction to anything. I used to use the anti-bac skin wash and when it ran out I went to repurchase because it was the only thing that kept the spots at bay. The beauty therapist advised that Dermalogica had merely repackaged and renamed my HG and so I bought this product. After the very first use I noticed that I had a couple of little whiteheads on my chin. I did not think much of it because I thought I had been using the same product as I had before. After a few days, the whiteheads mulitplied and my skin turned a bit red so I got worried and stopped using it. I then woke up the next day and the skin all around my nose, mouth and chim was red, inflamed and covered in whiteheads and blisters. I looked like a monster. I had to go to the doctor and remember sitting in the wating room crying with people blatantly staring at me. The doctor prescribed antihistamines and a cortisone cream. It took about a week to clear up and about a month for the redness to subside. This was about 8 months ago and eversince then I have a hightend sensitivity to certain products, even ones that I have used before. Anything I use on my face now has to be spot tested before purchase as Im just petrified of going through that again.

People have different reactions to different products, this product seems to have worked fine for many people but I would not want what happened to me to happen to anyone else, so if you are thinking of purchasing get a sample first and be on the look out for reactions!

I've noticed a difference in my skin when I use this cleanser. It really does prevent blemishes, but you have to use it consistently. Whenever I stop using this, my skin breaks out even more. I don't find this drying at all, and my skin can be quite sensitive... the key is to not use so much - a pea sized amount is probably enough for the most of us. I lather it up in my hands before I use it, to get the foam going. My skin feels so clean after I use this, but not stripped which is always important to me. Will most likely repurchase and definitely recommend.

I used samples of this wash and the oil control lotion only 3 times before it ruined my skin :( it has completely dried it out to the point that it's flaking and I had oily skin to begin with. I have never reacted badly to a product before in my life but this has made me red, raw and flaky :( I have broken out in all these little whiteheads too :( still trying to help my skin to recover.

I love this cleanser. I bought it in the big bottle with the pump and you literally, only need a pea size amount. This bottle will probably last me the whole year. So even the hefty price tag isn't so awful if you actually use up the product. It has a slight tea tree scent, a clear gel, makes your skin feel very clean but not stripped. I have normal/dry skin and I was afraid this would dry me out and I'd have to only use it once a day or every other day, but it's fine as my only cleanser - I use it twice a day. I use the facial brush with this to really get the cleanser to work onto my face and though I don't know if this heals existing blemishes, I think it's great at keeping them away and maintaining consistantly clear skin. At night I pre-cleanse with an oil or just wash twice with this.

This product is amazing. I don't know why other people say it dries their skin out, as I've never had that problem, and my skin is dry - maybe you're using too much - you only need a pea sized amount, lather it up in your hands, and cleanse. I actually like the slightly medicinal/natural smell of this cleanser, and it foams really well. I think this is good for sensitive skin, because it contains only .5 percent salicylic acid, yet it is still very effective. I think it's the blend of so many natural extracts that really make this cleanser special, it really gets rid of bacteria. I can't recommend this enough, for around $40 canadian, I think it's definitely worth it. Also, it's not just for blemish-prone skin, I use it occasionally as a chemical exfoliant- it doesn't make my skin dry, or red.

There's nothing special with this acne wash. I use Retin-A Micro for topical to treat acne and because of that, I have very sensitive skin. This cleanser is too much to be used everyday. I used it every night for the first week and my skin got really red and dried out. So I began using it once every other night, which works fine now. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but also very tight. I still have the mild acne. I still have oily skin. This cleanser works fine, but for the price, it's nothing special. I'd rather buy my Kiehl's Blue Herbal Cleanser -- which is cheaper and works better (in my opinion).

This replaced the Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash. I've been using this for years. I have mild acne which can get out of control quickly if not treated properly. I use this at the end of the day to wash makeup off my face (after using my eye makeup remover first). It smells clean and cleanses thoroughly without overdrying.

It may be pricier, but it is very concentrated, and a little goes a long way. It lasts several months.

I liked using this the first 3-4 days but then it dried my face. It's just too harsh for my skin and I would return it if I could. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who has sensitve skin.

I probably wouldn't have tried this out had it not been sitting on my sister's side of the shelf, but I am so very glad I did. I have skin that dries out extremely easily and so usually anything that claims to remedy acne is too much. This is not. It has done away with the large pores on my nose and forehead and evened the rest out like I could not have imagined. My skin hasn't been this fantastic in a long time. I use it twice a day---lathering up and concentrating on the trouble spots with gentle, circular motions---and have found it to be more effective than anything else I've ever tried. When my sister went back to college (and took her skincare stuff with her), I went out and bought this the next day. You need VERY little to work with and so I can see this lasting a long time (which makes the $30ish price somewhat reasonable). The packaging is perfectly fine, there are no artificial smells or anything, and my skin looks amazing. I'm a Dermalogica girl now.

MediBac Clearing Skin Wash:

I really like this! A lot of foam, smells lovely and the most important; i feel clean afterwards! It is soft, and non-drying...not as medicated as Murads cleanser that contains 1,5% salicylic acid...this one contains only 0,5% sal. acid....but still it cleanses and calms the skin in a nice way. Soft and mild, in my opinion....

But cause i have adult acne I need to combine this with a BP-cleanser also....

Still this is very good for "light cleansing"....

Recommended!!

This may be it--I think I may have found my HG cleanser. This has completely boosted up my skin beautifying routine, for sure!! I use my purity for MU removal but this for actual cleansing and it has made a difference indeed. It has cleared up those irritating little whiteheads/pimples, has evened out my skintone as well as the surface of my skin-literally lifting those pesky little rooted pimples lying beneath the surface. GONE! In conjuction with my Clarisonic, this is a winner and a keeper. I'm through trying to find something better, because I'v honestly (finally) found it:) BTW everything else I use is DS and works amazingly. I just happened to stumble across this in a recent swap request (Thx MUA). Although it's somewhat pricey, I'm willing to shell out the $$ not just for beautiful skin but for actual results!!! May you all have the same luck and find your winner;)

I found this to be a fairly gentle and effective cleanser, I think it is more suited to mild acne, not severe acne- I don't think it would clear up really bad skin very well. It could take care of the occasional flare-up but not super bad breakouts. I could not use this cleanser on the parts of my face affected by eczema (upper cheeks, just below my eyes) as it would burn and sting for days afterwards. But it was good on my T-zone for removing oil and helping to clear up pimples without drying out my skin too much. It is a nice thin liquid cleanser, quite concentrated so you don't need to use a lot. The bottle lasted me for ages, though I didn't particularly like the cap. I changed cleansers, though this worked, because my skin had calmed down (something I partially attribute to this cleanser) so I decided I could go for something more gentle and less acne-focused. I recommend to anyone who needs a cleanser to take care of mild acne.

I like this so far but I have only been using it about a week. It works great without overdrying. Here's the background info:
My skin is... super fair, nearing 40, oily in summer/dry in winter, acne prone at the change of season or TOTM especially on my chin and chest. Fine lines but no real wrinkles yet. Sensitive with redness on my cheeks. SA's work on me but not BP. Allergic to parabens and rentinols. Use Clarisonic brush daily.
Once May rolls around, I need to step up my skin care. I switch over from calming & moisturizing to acne fighting. I have use Neutrogena's Acne Stress line in the past but this year it wasn't working as well.

This is going to last forever. The bottle I have is 16.9oz and with a pump. I use about a dime size squirt twice a day. The smell is a combo of menthol-ish/minty/herbally nice. It's different but I like it. The wash is very foamy and cleans without stripping. It contains SA but I haven't had any overdrying at all. My face just feels clean after using. I follow it up with the Clearing Mattifier during the day or the Overnight Clearing Gel at night.

Overall, I am very happy with the entire Medi-Bac line and look forward to using a few more products like the Pre-Cleanse or maybe a serum.

I find this line very calming but effective at clearing my spots. Not the best with healing the old spots but definately works great on the new ones. I like that it doesn't burn or make my skin peel. Works well on my chest too.

I will update at a later date and let you all know how it's going and if it's still working.

***EDIT** I am still using and loving this. Not only has my acne started to clear up and heal, I have noticed a reduction of redness in my cheek and nose. I was concerned that I would have the opposite problem due to overdryness but this system is so calming it's helping acne and rosacea. Not to mention a huge reduction in oil production. I am hooked!

At the detriment of my skin, I have persevered with this cleanser for 6 weeks. It has been my first experience with the infamous Dermalogica, but sadly I have not been left with a good impression. In fact I have been left with a very red and spotty one!
After a really bad breakout due to an allergic reaction, and an impending wedding to attend, I booked myself in with a Dermalogica facialist. Said facialist (whom I shall never return to) absolutely insisted I was in need of this cleanser along with a few others from the medibac range. I was dubious, because from what I knew, Dermalogica products have a rep for being astringent, harsh, and drying. Alright for some acne sufferers, but not when you know your skin to be as dry and sensitive as mine is.
Raising this concern to the facialist, she had me convinced within about 30 seconds that everything I knew was wrong. Within the same 30 seconds, at my mention of Benzole Peroxide, she pulled such a face, that I vowed never to use it again. She insisted I couldn't possibly have DRY acne-prone skin and most likely just thought I did because Benzyle Peroxide was sucking me dry... ok then. Sadly I was a desperate woman, and was highly susceptible to believing everything she told me. I was converted, but the product did not follow through.
In the first week, the skin around my eyes and mouth started to flake and become sore and red. There was even some weeping on the inner corner of my right eye! I blamed myself, thinking I wasn't avoiding these sensitive areas enough. Moving on..
For the next 2 weeks I did notice an improvement in my forehead area, but things seemed worse on my chin. in fact, my chin and around my nose hadn't looked so bad since over a year ago before I started with benzoyl peroxide. I persevered, blaming my hormones, and my slow-healing skin.
In the 4th and 5th week small bumps under the skin began to crop up on my cheek bone area, around the chin and all around the mouth extending out. Worse still, the cystic acne that had been lying dormant in my right jawline suddenly made an angry re-appearance.
Six weeks on from my rash decision to turn my back on sensitive skin care in favour of pretty-laced nonsense from a 'professional' I am feeling pretty stung. My jaw, chin, cheeks and mouth region are broken out worse than ever, and even in the areas with no spots I have a lot of redness that I never had before. Some of these are scars from all the yellow-heads I have been getting the past month or so..
I don't know who I'm more angry with. Probably myself, because I knew all along I had walked this road before, and that my skin type is not complimented by this type of formula. I persevered but still learned a hard lesson. I am not discrediting this product - it's just not for dry or sensitive skin! So there you have it -take from this what you may. As for me, it's - Hello again, mild cleansers and benzoyl peroxide.

I cannot rave more about the medibac line. I have been using this skin clearing wash for 2 weeks twice a day as part of the medibac kit. My skin has never been so clear! I cannot believe it, I have spent over a decade trying to shift these spots and _finally_ a range of products that work! I use a tiny pea size amount of this stuff and lather it up. It is not overdrying and lathers well, my skin feels clean and calm after using this. I would suggest to make sure to use a moisturiser or it may become drying after a couple of uses. I love this product! As with all Dermalogica products, the price could be better!

I have very sensitive skin thats on the dry side. Lately its been a bit congested and I was recommended to use this together with dermalogica's other medibac products. Its worked really well. My skin is clear and glowing. The medibac regimen even has removed some blackheads. The trick is to use a tiny, tiny amount of the cleanser and lather it up in your hands and then wash your face with the lather. For me it has worked perfectly, my skin has not dried up at all even if its winter and supercold right now! I use this, avene's thermal water and then at night I alter between the clearing gel and a moisturizer. Also, I have a supergood day cream.

I don't think this product did anything for my acne but it's a fairly pleasant cleanser and for that point alone I might buy it.

It is a clear gel foaming cleanser. The first thing you will notice is the strong tea tree oil smell as it takes a little getting used to.

It lathers well, and leaves the skin feeling clean but not dry and stripped of moisture. I don't think it is a very effective anti-acne product but I will use it as a general cleanser after my cleansing oil.

I brought this as part of an antibac kit. I ordered it online and by time it reached me I had a massive red spot on my cheek which I had already squeezed once. I used this (along with sebum mask and overnight clearing cream) and by the next day my spot had reduced signifigantly. It also didnt re infect and become puss-y (sorry).

I like how soft this makes my skin feel when I take it off. These regime seems to have reduced the amount of whiteheads I have but, I find whenever I deviate from this regime my spots do flair up.

Its pretty expensive but I've tried so many things just to have something work is a blessing :)

I bought this product because it was designed specifically for adult acne. I was excited to try it. I used it along with the overnight clearing gel and topical spot treatment. I used the products consistently for over two months hoping that I would see some improvement. Not only did my skin not improve, it seemed to worsen. I started getting very cystic pimples, which I never before had. These were horrible, they lasted for days and days. I was really hoping this product would work. Back to the endless search of skincare products.
