It's been years since I tried any Revlon products, and now I remember why - their color choices are HORRIBLE. I bought this foundation for oily/combination skin in Buff and it looked grey on my skin. It also had no coverage, so I could see every imperfection through the grey veil. This is just awful stuff.

This is the only foundation ive been using for about 3 years.i have never tried anything that makes you look so perfect..but thats kind of a problem,it toooootally washes you out,so if you use it daily, you start to look kinda funny without it. it does stay on all day,i see this stuff being used in salons all the time.the only thing stopping me from giving it a 5 is that it clogs your pores.it doesnt break me out,but it gives me bad whiteheads & blackheads..yet im still addicted to this stuff lol.

I have to say this is probably the best product ever for making your face look so completely flawless and unbelievably smooth! It matched my skin SO well and really did stay put on my face for the whole day without needing touch ups.

The downside is that this really does break you out. After reading the reviews of all the people who said it broke them out, I thought it was just a few people and wouldn't happen to me because makeup has never made me breakout before.
you have to realize that this product

***IT'S NOT NON-COMODOGENIC.

***IT IS NOT NON-PORE PLOGGING

***NOT RECOMMENDED BY DERMATOLOGISTS

This product has nothing on the label to reasure you that it is safe to wear on your skin unlike all the other makeup products out there. It just says it is oil-free.

This means that it WILL clog you pores which will lead obviously lead to break outs even if you don't normally break out!!!!!!!!!

This product is only so good because it can clog your pores. It just isn't worth it.
Try ALMAY clear complexion. The shades aren't as good, but it is a lot better for your skin.

oh and the packaging is horrible.

I REALLY love this foundation! I use the darkest color, Mocha and even though it is darker than my skin tone it evens everything out very nicely. It creates a flawless, dewy, natural skin look. I put this on after my moisturizer and let it sit for a moment to dry and I'm good to go! It says on until you wash it off (unless you do something like sleep, something that puts a lot of friction then it will come off). A bonus, I have worn different foundations that create a gray cast on my face when I take pictures.. well this foundation helps me look picture perfect! The glass bottle lasts a while and the coverage is build able, it covers up my scars very well, looks like I don't have any! If you have been searching for a foundation I would recommend this one. Just be sure purchase the foundation at CVS since they will take it back if you don't like how, however I have feeling you wont be taking it back! :-)

I used to be a fan of the old formulation before they added the SoftFlex. I think it was better and lasted much longer. I like the way this initially looked when I put on. You do have to spread it quickly because it dries fast but doing one side of your face at a time and blending afterward tends to help. The colors are good. I wear the fairest in the winter and the second fairest in the summer. Unfortunately if you have any dryness or flakies, it's going to show. It can also get cakey looking if your not careful. I wore this for about two weeks and noticed that I was breaking out much more than usual, so I stopped. Skin cleared and started using again and then I started breaking out again. So no colorstay for me. Good makeup, those with acneic skin might want to think twice about using a long wearing makeup. It clogs pores.

The #1 reason I do like this foundation is it smells like old paint. I mean I'm a artist and can honestly say it smells like enamel Paint. No wonder it breaks me out!

I've tried every expensive foundation in the world it seems, but I still prefer the Colorstay foundation to all of them. It's the only one I've found that allows me to wear a moisturizer underneath without making me oily or simply disappearing halfway through the day. I love that I'm no longer a slave to constant touch-ups and the Sand Beige color is a perfect match to my skin, not too pinky on my golden undertones. The one drawback is that it's in a standard glass foundation bottle instead of a plastic pump bottle, which I'd prefer for traveling and to keep it germ-free.

Definitely one of the best foundations I've ever used. I buy this in Sand Beige which is a perfect warm shade for fair to medium skin. I have a horrible time finding foundations that don't make my golden skin look too pink or grey or make me break out with cystic acne. I'm so glad I found this!!! I've used the normal to oily and normal to dry (SPF 15 with SoftFlex) formulations and both are wonderful. I prefer the normal to dry in the winter. This foundation goes on smooth, provides great moderate coverage, is very buildable and stays put all day! I don't get break-thru shine mid-day which I get with a lot of CG and Maybelline foundations. Even the normal to dry version doesn't make my face greasy. It's just a heavenly product. My only gripe is that I wish it came in a pump bottle. Other than that, this is definitely my HG foundation. I bought it on sale at Walgreens for only USD $7.99.

I've been wearing this makeup for quite some time and no matter how much I've try new products, I always end up coming back to Revoln Color stay. I notice the trick to putting on this foundation is with a wet/damp makeup sponge. It dries very quickly when putting it on with your fingures and/or makeup brush, which I've tried. The wet/damp sponge gives it a smooth glide and good coverage(I use the round sponges). When I need extra coverage I just dab the sponge on whatever area I want extra coverage and it does the job. I finish it with some loose powder. You name it I've got it with my face, acne prone, scars, oil, blemishes and this is the only makeup that seems to help with coverage and I don't break out from it. For my cleanser I use St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish & Black head control with 2% salicylic Acid and this products really helps remove the makeup along helps with my occassional breakouts. I also use the Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-eliminating Astringent after I wash my face and I notice I don't have much of any makeup left on my skin. I'm in the process on getting laser treatments for my skin, and tried different cleansers and makeups, thinking new skin new products, but after trying other products and just breaking out, for me, I've ended up back to my Revoln colorstay and Apricot Scrub.

Age: 19-24   Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium   Hair: Brunette   Eyes: Brown

I'm now on my 3rd bottle of this, because it's the only foundation that lasts all day on me. I am prone to blemishes, so the last thing I want is my makeup wearing off half way through the day. I think my last bottle cost me about £11.50 from Boots, so it is kind of mid-range price wise.

I use the new version with softflex for combination to oily skin, which seems to work well for my combination skin with an oily t-zone and dryer cheeks. It gives good coverage, and does not rub off on your clothes at all. When I take my makeup off at the end of the day there is always more to be taken off than with any other foundation I have used.

What I would say is that you do have to be careful how you apply it-a little goes a long way and it is easy to make it look cakey. I usually apply it carefully with a foundation brush, then if need be do any blending with a sponge. But once you know how to apply it, the 'cakey look' that so many people complain of with this product is not a problem.

I only have one complaint with this foundation, which is the pacakaging. It comes in a heavy glass bottle which is not good for travelling with at all, and I have to leave it upside down on my dressing table when I'm getting near to the end of the bottle. I wish they would make it in a plastic tube or bottle, which would be so much easier.

Other than that, this is a good foundation for someone who needs good coverage and wants it to last all day.

this was another one of those things everybody loves that is a disaster on me. too dark, oxidized, looked REALLY makeup-y and for some reason instead of blurring my post-acne marks turned them an extremely visible, lurid purple. Gorgeous. In the trash.

Love it Love it LOVE IT. My skin is nothing without this foundation. It covers everything and yet manages to look like my skin! It sops up oil, stays put and doesn't make me break out or have an allergic reaction. The price keeps going up though. When I first bought it 10 years ago it was $16.99 CAN, now it's up to $20.99. Meh, I'll keep buying it forever!

I love this foundation for many reasons:
* The color matches my skin tone perfectly. I never have to blend because the lines dissappear seconds after applying
*The coverage distributes evenly, even over my trouble spots.
*Feels light, almost as if not wearing any makeup
* I never get oily by the end of the day and never have to reapply
*It isn't too harsh...hasn't dried out my skin like other foundations
*Has SPF...enough said
*Hasn't caused me one breakout yet and I have been using it for almost 6 months now
* It's literally activewear...I can wear it to work and it still stays fresh all day

Highly recommended to those who like natural, healthy looking coverage.

This product was okay. It gives really great coverage (I have acne, freckles, sunspots and scars=not so great skin) but it always looked cakey on me near the end of the day. It is difficult to get out of fabric. This product felt heavy on my skin too. I would use it if in a jam, but prefer my mineral makeup any day of the week : )

Just bought my second bottle. FTR, I've tried high and low end foundations. I have the combo/oily colorstay. I have problematic skin. I have huge pores, scars, acne and slight wrinkles (33yrs old). I get dry patches and eczema as well. I react to many things. I do not react to this product. Plus, it's fantastic coverage. I wear Physicans Formula mineral powder over. Almost completely flawless. My only negatives would be the bottle. When you get to the end, it's tough to get out. Smells kind of like paint???but goes away asap. If you get it on your clothes, it's tough to get it out. Othewise, this stuff is fantastic. Edited to add- use a sponge with this. I apply with fingers, but use a round sponge right after application. The wedge sponges work great for right to application. I use Target sponges.

This is my favorite foundation of all time. I've tried so many other foundations over the years. I have normal to oily skin. This foundation makes your skin flawless. Some have said it's too thick and cakey but you just have to know how to apply it. I usually dot it on and work very fast blending one area at a time working all the way around my face. A little goes a long way. Then I take a makeup sponge and very lightly go over my face. It takes all of 45 seconds to apply. Since my nose is oily, I do use a little makeup primer (in the form of monistat anti-chaffing gel) on my nose before I apply the foundation.
I hope they never dicontinue this!! I will be EXTREMELY upset!

This makeup stays just applied fresh all day.
love it.
love it.

I went to get this foundation in oil/comb skin 180 sand beige cuz of all the good review..
i tried it on.. looks fab... it covers the post acne marks.. and large pores and other imperfections ..and i set it with a powder but after awhile (couple hours) it goes kind of oily or slippery.

I have combination skin with mild acne, the post acne marks takes me forever to get rid of. so try to cover it up during the day.

I don't know is it just me , because the reviews say it soaks up oil..
but it doesn't work for me. may be is because i'm only putting a thin layer on, don't want to look too cakey or way obvious.

The consistency is pretty thick, so i'm worried that if i put a thick layer, it will cause break outs because of the blocked pores.

does any one have similar experience???

I had bought the one that says combination/oily skin in sand beige

~ DESCRIPTION OF ME: ~
Light skinned, yellow undertone asian with some acne and combination/oily skin that can get really oily on my t-zone and really dry on my chin sometimes [but that doesn't usually happen].

~ PACKAGING: ~
In a 1oz glass bottle with a black twist on cap

~CONSISTENCY/TEXTURE:~
It is a liquid foundation that is somewhat thick

~APPLICATION:~
I use my clean fingers to dab on the foundation and then spread it out and blend one section at a time and layer a little bit on where I need it

~FINISH:~
A matte finish, but not like a corpse, with a hint of dewiness. Makes my skin look flawless while looking natural. I put the matching Colorstay powder in light over it with a brush.

~STAYING POWER:~
This has a lot of staying power, more than any I have tried. I put this on at around 6:45am and it lasts through practically about the whole day, I do touch-up, but that is only because I have extremely oily skin and my pores start showing, so it isn't necessary. It even lasted through me blowing my nose [I had a cold recently]. When you want to take it off, I suggest using Pond's Cold Cream, it really works, and then use a cleanser afterwards.

~SCENT:~
There is a little scent at first but it will go away after you've applied to your face.

~COLOR:~
I use 180 Sand Beige, it is a little dark for me because I am in between this and Buff but Buff makes me look like a dead corpse. Sand Beige has kind of a peachy color, but still looks natural.

~OVERALL:~
I love this foundation, I thought I had found my HG when I was using the New Complexion One-Step Makeup, but that left my face really oily by lunchtime, and I had to keep touching up. This is definitely my new HG. It is perfect for me. The only thing I had to complain is that I paid around $14 with added tax, but because they is a great foundation, I'll pass on that. If you have near flawless skin, I don't think this is for you because it provides a great deal of coverage. All in all, this is a great foundation for people on the go who doesn't have much time to touch up and need coverage.

I want to thank Seclusae2 and heyannette for this writing style, it really helped me put out my thoughts on this product....hehe....I sound like I'm giving a speech....I hope other people uses this writing style too....

~UPDATE~
Well, at first I had thought that this product was great, but then after a few more times of using this, I realized that it streaked really bad. Not only that, but it was also VERY hard to apply because it would dry up so fast. It made my face feel very greasy, and applying more on top of it or powder would make it even more cakey than it already is. Even my friends and family has noticed how bad this was, They have been telling me to stop wearing so much makeup and I don't pile this product on. The longer i wear this product, the more I realize that it doesn't keep the oilies away and gets shiny as fast any other foundation out there. Revlon Colorstay foundation has also made me break out really bad. So, I will no longer be using this product.

Now I am using Revlon's new Custom Creations Foundation. It is really good. If this product doesn't work, you have to try the one I am using :)

I remember liking this when it first came out and thought I'd give it another try. It covered as well as I remember but it turned my face into an oil slick after a few hours. Any attempt to blot just smeared & removed it. I'll go back to my old foundation and toss this one into the trash.
