Almost perfect except for the fact its not invisible so you can only put on at night--which I guess can be embarrassing if you live w/someone. Lives up to its reputation for drying bump almost overnight (1-3 days and will practically "freeze dry" any that try to get bigger)
PS dont shake bottle the pink sediment is supposed to stay on the bottom. Works better than anything Iv tried and so simple.

I want to be buried with this. I rarely break out except around that time of the month. I've tried many things that don't work on getting rid of these breakouts. But this does. It does sting, but I've found it only stings if you've recently washed your face. I found out about how great this is when I used the tester at a department store. I dabbed just the clear liquid on and a few minutes later, after touching my face again, I could feel the size of it had gone down a little. The sales associate actually discouraged me from buying it because he said that it breaks people out even more. I ignored him. I bought it, applied it again and when I woke up in the morning thhe size had gone down by about 40%. Within 3 days, it was gone. Definitely will not go without this.

I'm not giving this product a five because it's the ultimate pimple eraser, but it works really well on whiteheads, which is what I mostly deal with. I've been using this for more than a couple years, and it really does accelerate the process of a whitehead. I usually wait for a pimple to erupt above the surface, and then I use it until the pimple hardens (usually during the first to third use). If I didn't wear opaque full coverage foundation everyday, then I would not use this in the morning. Otherwise, this stuff hardens your whiteheads FAST, and within a day or two it flakes off when washing the face or exfoliating. But never, ever try to scrub it off by force.

Burns like hell. Doesn't make any difference for me. Scared husband with pink dots on face. Bottle design is poor.

I've heard a lot about this product promising that it'll erase your pimple the night you put it on.
Well, I bought it. I love other Mario Badescu products, but I think this one is a miss. When you dab a little on, you feel heat and a little burning sensation. I like knowing that my product works, but the burning sensation is only that a sensation. The next morning nothing has changed. Usually I dab on for a couple of days and all it does is dry out my face. I won't buy it again.

Umm, IMO this is a miracle worker. I put it on a zit at night, and it is noticeably cleared up in the morning. Works on your average zit, not cystic acne. Packaging is terrible though b/c it is hard to get your q-tip to the bottom, so decant is a must when you are running toward the end of the product. This is my HG zit cream.

Definitely not an overnight miracle worker - note: it only works on very small zits and helps slow developing acne but doesn't prevent it. The smell is very strong (my bf hates it when I use this stuff!) I purchased it a few years ago after seeing it in "In Style" and decided to try it again now, but realize it is still disappointing. And as the name says, it dries out your skin and is hard to wash off in the AM (I use Cetaphil and have to rub my skin hard to get it off).

I desperately wanted this to be my HG spot treatment, but it fell way short of expectations. It's not an overnight wonder, for one. I typically need to use it for two or three days before I see improvement, and it does practically nothing for the nastier, cystic variety of zits. And you have to store it somewhere nice and cool, otherwise the alcohol disappears (yes, even with the lid screwed tightly on) and leaves nothing but calamine gunk at the bottom. Plus, when you're about two-thirds of the way down, you need something much longer than the usual cotton swab to scrape up what's left of the product. I respect the Mario Badescu philosophy, but I definitely will not repurchase their Drying Lotion.

This is ok. It doesn't really do anything for big zits, but for small pimples it works well. I just wish it vanished on my skin...I hate having big spots all over my face at night! This is only used when I'm by myself! I also don't like how you have to use a qtip and dip it in the bottle. And sometimes it's so runny that it drips down. I don't think I'll repurchase.

Holy grail for those times when I can see something under the skin...although the SA told me that this really is for pimple / acne that have come to head (white)...this thing works wonders for me at the beginning stage when I see something raised on my skin. Love it!

This drying lotion is the only product that works in my experience at healing a pimple-- it can totally make one disappear overnight. However, I'm subtracting a lippie because it's expensive. I have to say that the Walgreen's Zap Zit stuff appears to me to be exactly the same and works just as well at half the price. I prefer Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion (and/or the Walgreen lookalike) over any other pimple medication-- including Kiehl's and Blisslabs. This stuff works.

I think this product is pretty good at shortening the duration of a breakout. As soon as I feel something brewing under my skin, out comes my drying lotion. Sometimes, it can stop the blemish from coming out in full force, sometimes, it will make it smaller, or less severe, but it definitely shortens the duration of the breakout. It dries out my skin, but a little exfoliation and oil free moisturizer takes care out that. I will continue to use it b/c the combination of the Drying Lotion and my Zeno , really help keep blemishes to a minimum (check out the reviews on the Zeno). The Drying lotion on its own works well too.

A friend recommended this product when I was having a massive breakout. I went to a store that specializes in MB products and got the full range--cleanser, toner, etc...and this, as well as the drying cream. The drying cream has been a dud on my big, red, cystic acne bumps, but the drying lotion is wonderful at zapping my whiteheads. Just today, I woke up with a nasty one and since I was working from home, I dabbed a spot of this on and this evening, the area is still red--but the whitehead has gone down considerably. It usually runs its course and takes a day or two, but I never expected an overnight miracle anyway. It does smell to high heaven though--my DH HATES when I use it at night, but the rest of the MB line has kept my breakouts at bay--and when the occasional zit shows up, this works fine on it. And I think the bottle will last forever...but it is a little difficult to find the RIGHT length of cotton swab to dip in there...I almost wish the bottle were a little smaller to make it easier to get the pink stuff at the bottom. UPDATE: As much as I originally loved this product, I've actually found one that does as good a job, without the stink---the Kiehl's Blue Herbal Spot treatment. It's a little less drying as well...

I was lucky, for a while I did not have acne but they are back. Stress, hormones I don't know but here they are. I used to use this years ago and have bough it again and here is my review:
So......this is not a miracle product, I agree with some people on here have said, dip a qtip in the product and dab it on youe face at night and dont shake the bottle. The acne definitely look smaller in the morning and less inflamed but does it shirnk to nothing - no. I use this at night and then in the morning wash it off and apply aspirin to the acne and that combination helps it disappear faster then if I had left it alone.
All in all I still use it when I need it but its not amazing.

This did not work for me. I break out quite frequently, all over my face, so it just ends up irritating my skin even more. It's probably good for people who have the occasional pimple in one location.

I bought the knock-off version, bye bye blemish but it worked like a miracle. While it doesn't really clear things up overnight, it does help without drying or irritating skin like Benz peroxide/salicylic acid products do.
I was impressed at the drying lotions ability to tackle cystic acne. It doesn't make them go away immediately, but it does keep them from "coming up to the surface" if applied as soon as you feel one of those preliminary bumps building under your skin.
The NEGATIVE: yes, it smells, yes it's ugly...but it puts other on the spot treatments to shame, so it's worth it!!!
