I returned this the next day. I was so excited to try this and it was a flop. Clumped, it was a mess, and it did nothing that it said. Not at all impressed, in fact I'm surprised its on the market.

Hypnose is one of my alltime favorites, so I thought I'd give this a try.

Hypnose Drama worked well but only with my being extra careful not to get clumps since the wand really loads up with the mascara. I use an eyelash curler and primer, and only one or two coats.


I'm undecided whether I'll just go back to my regular Hypnose. Although there is a difference in volume and intense blackness with Hypnose Drama, I don't know if it's worth the extra effort to avoid huge goopy clumps.

Lancome mascaras are the best. Period. And I loved Hypnose, so I figured, Why not take a chance on a bigger, more dramatic version? But here's the deal with me and Hypnose Drama. It's a great mascara for me. My eyelashes are longer, fuller, perfect --- for a few hours. Then it just fades away. It doesn't flake, it just seems to evaporate. If it didn't do this, it'd be my perfect mascara.

I was so excited to try this mascara since the MA in sephora recommended me this. I kinda like the smell though.. unlike other comments. BUT, it's really wet and it seems like it takes forever to dry. a big no no.

This was a disappointment. It smells terrible and it is way too wet and messy. It takes a lot of work to get good-looking lashes from this stuff. It does remind me of the texture of Fatale, which I hated, too, not because of the brush but because of the slippery product.

I love the normal Hypnose mascara and when this came out I tried it. Big mistake. How Lancome can make such a horrible mascara is beyond me.
At first I noticed the weird smell, that made my eyes water. At least is gets less intense over time. The application on the lashes left me with three big blobs instead of individual lashes. Hard to get off as well.
At the second application I noticed that a lot can be saved with the way you hold the brush, but still the results were far less dramatic than what I am used to with Hypnose. No length, just a bit of volume. After 4 weeks the mascara already starts to clump all over my face.

I will stick to Hypnose and forget about the drama I had with this one. Unfortunately I cannot give it back to let them know how horrible it is.

This is the worst mascara I have ever used in my entire life! My eight-dollar Maybelline is better than this!
I have always used the regular Lancome Hypnose, and that is my HG mascara, so I thought this would be even better. Big mistake. I should've been more suspicious when I learned that the product was exclusive to Sephora (if Lancome really believed in this product, wouldn't they sell it in all of their retailers?). I don't know how this is any "improvement" on the regular Hypnose. It made my lashes wimpy (not even kidding you, I actually think that my lashes got SMALLER when I put this stuff on. My very first reaction to it was, "Is this a joke?") and gave them neither length nor volume. I might as well have been wearing nothing at all on my lashes. Twenty-five dollar nothing! The tube dried out really quickly, and it makes my lashes spidery (as many others have said) and clumpy. Also, it smudges! I RAN into Lord & Taylor today to get my hands on the good old regular Hypnose, and I plan on returning this garbage to Sephora ASAP! (Thankfully, Sephora has a fantastic return policy.) You're so much better off just sticking to the regular Hypnose. The only "drama" in this product is that it's DRAMATICALLY disappointing.

I never thought I'd actually hate a Lancôme mascara.
I've tried most of them and even if not all are as good as my darling Magnificils they were always good.

Now this one is a joke. Volume? Where?
The brush is always full of product and manages to gunk up my lashes.. and I always get some on my eyelids no matter how careful I try to be.
As most Lancôme mascaras it takes ages to dry.
Honestly it does nothing for my lashes. The only plus is it doesn't flake.

Won't be buying again!!

I was so excited to try this product as it was being advertised everywhere. To my disappointment it is the worst mascara i have tried in a long time, i can not believe they can make such a bad mascara after all these years !!!! do not buy it unless u want to look like you have 1000 coats of mascara on !!

This product came highly recommended by two separate sales people at Sephora. I was a fan of regular Hypnose (see my other review), so I gave this new formulation a try. The sales rep gave me specific instructions to start with the "flat" side of the brush, then use the "S" to wiggle through lashes. It must be me, because I found no flat side. In any case, my primary reason for disliking this product is the strong rose scent. It even lasts after applying on my lashes and I am just not partial to rose. The scent is overwhelming to me (why does a mascara need a scent anyway?). Second, this mascara made my lashes clump together - major spider. My lashes are very fair and sparse to begin with. While the color was intense (which I like), overall, it was not a good look on me. I'm going to exchange it for something else.

I was so disappointed in this mascara! My lashes are long, but very thin & I found this offered very little volume and instead gave my lashes a very spidery look. The formula was a bit too wet for my liking and it clumped on my lashes. It also has a very strong unpleasant smell. The only pro is that it washes off easily.

Love this mascara. It makes my lashes long and full and thick looking.
I also like the brush - the mascara goes on really nice with it.
Washes off well too.

I really wanted to like this- Lancôme makes exceptional mascaras, but this one is awful. Maybe I got a lemon of a tube? My experience is it's super clumpy and thick. I would purchase this if I worked on Broadway and needed my lashes to be seen from the balcony. However, I work in an office and prefer my makeup to look less pageanty.

Okay, so I got the sample for this from my local David Jones store. It comes in a 2ml travel-friendly tube, and I was surprised at how big the brush is. It's an S-shape bushy brush, which supposed to give your eyelashes that extra drama (volume). And it did, for me. I've read a lot of bad reviews on it, and good ones. For me it is a nice mascara. It makes my eyelashes feel really soft, and gives more volume, but not so much that it looks like falsies. It doesn't do anything for Curl though, it just gives Volume and Length, I'd say.

Yes, it does have a fragrance to it, and from the moment I put it on it lingered for at least another half an hour or so. To me it smells like rose petals, a very very strong garden rose fragrance to it, and that's probably what puts a lot of people off. So if you're very sensitive to Rose smells or anything with fragrance on your make up, stay away from this.

I give it 3 lippies because I like it, somehow. For those days when I don't need super curled eyelashes, just a super soft eyelashes.
But I won't repurchase it because it's overpriced in my opinion. Hope it helps~

I've always been a Lancome mascara fan! Love Definicils and Hypnose. They perform well with no flaking or smudging and remove easily with bi-phase removers like Bi-facils. I use Wal-Mart's Equate brand which is a dead ringer for Bi-facils, but costs $4! This new Hypnose Drama IMO is incredible! It gives you any look you could want!!! One coat gives evenly coated, long, dark and natural looking lashes. The trick to this mascara giving you thick, false eyelash looks is waiting a few seconds in between coats. If you're in a hurry, I'd suggest using the old Hypnose. But, If you have a couple extra minutes to spend on your mascara application I'd have to say this stuff is amazing. @ 57 yrs. old my lashes have thinned out, but this mascara takes my lashes back to my younger days. I've gotten many compliments already wearing this. I'd give Hypnose Drama 6 lippies if I could!!!

I'm a total Hypnose addict, and think Lancome are the Kings of Mascara- This however is a disappointment.

The smell is so strong and overpowering, gives me a headache- not what a mascara should do!

I'll say no more other than stick to Hypnose.

This mascara is TERRIBLE!! Waste of money!! I have long lashes anyway, and wanted something that thickened, which is what this mascara promised. Absolutely awful, this stuff clumped like crazy and it didn't do anything more to my lashes than a drugstore mascara. I sent this product right back, and now i'm using L'Oreal Volume Collagen mascara in Blackest Black which is awesome!!

I have used every Lancome mascara and hated this one. I have short lashes and this clumped and hit my lid when I tried to apply. This is good if you have lush lashes or can take a lot of time to apply, but I hate when trying to get small lashes and end up with in on my eyeliner.

I like this mascara a lot. I never tried the original so I can't compare but this is good stuff. It doesn't flake and it makes my lashes longer. I have no complaints. Would re-purchase
