Let me begin by saying I have very, very sensitive acne prone skin. So trying to find a foundation that actually works for me has been a very long nightmare. I settled for Revlon colorstay foundation for a few months, which didn't seem to irritate my sensitive skin at first, but I think prolonged use of it and the vigorous routine of having to take it off at night has taken its toll on my sensitive skin in a short time.
So I saw that Bobbi Brown had a new foundation out and I am a sucker for trying new foundations, in the hope that I will find one that works for my skin. So far, after trying it for a week I think I like it.
I would describe it as a bit heavier than tinted moisturizer. If you have more problematic skin like myself, you can layer it up without it looking cakey. It doesn't completely cover everything and you will need concealer for any red areas, but it does a pretty good job of looking natural. After wearing it an entire day at work, it still looked like skin and not a cakey mess!!
The colors set quite yellowy, so I would suggest going a shade lighter. I bought the 4.5 color I thought matched me but it set alot darker.
All in all I am impressed so far and will update once I've worn it for a bit longer.

I am so glad that i didn't buy this foundation...I was this close to buying it after looking at all the good review..
Pros:
-->good coverage
-->good oil-control ( my nose areas which usually gets oily after 1 or 2 hours do not look oily even after whole day ) this is with UK weather so i am not very sure about hot weather
-->has quite a wide range of colors to choose from
Cons:
-->matte finish ( this might pro for ppl who likes matte finish or ppl with oily skin...i do not like matte finish cause it makes my face looks dry and caked up which i had with this foundation)
-->too thick ( maybe due to coverage but i hate it..makes me feel like i am wearing a mask )
a little something which i want to share..
ok i went to city centre just to buy this foundation on weekend...and i had my face makeup done from home so when i went to the bobbi brown counter i asked the sales lady to help me with the color choice..she looks kind of uninterested..she said it is best if i take off my foundation and try but i am not very keen on it since i had done my makeup..so she tested on my jaw line and according to her it is shade (4.5) i told her i want that shade and since i am not very familiar with return system i asked if i could change the product if i found the shade is not for me...her reply is really nice "you cannot do that...I had already given you a choice to try full face but you didn't want to so if it goes wrong we cannot do anything about it..."i was kinda shocked actually i do not have problem with the shade not suitable for me but i was so pissed at her reply that i told her i am not getting my friend was there also and he was shocked at her reply as well and he didn't like the lady from the start cause of her poker face...then one week later i went to the counter again to buy the corrector this time another lady helped me she was such a sweet lady she helped me with the color and when i asked her about the foundation (i was actually thinking of buying it but asking to make sure of the shade) she gave me some sample of shade 4.5 and 4 ( she said " you already had makeup done i do not want to take off everything it won't be very nice isn't it...try this if it is suitable"..this should be the way grrr) ohh ya i saw that poker faced lady again..she looked still the same
I am soo happy that the lady had given me the sample cause 4.5 is a little too light for me and i do not really like the finish...she helped me save £26
overall this is a good foundation if you are looking for sort of medium to full coverage and have oily skin and loves matte finish =]

Very good product. The texture of it is light but coverage is good and buildable if you need. Several colors to choose from. Best applied with a brush. Overall very good.

Me: 44 yrs, warm-toned light skintone (NC 27), some discoloration from sun damage, normal to dry skin.
I was thrilled to try this foundation for the first time today after reading all the positive reviews here on MUA. The "skin" foundation is wonderful. I purchased warm sand 2.5 and it matches my skin tone perfectly, dead-on. First, one must shake the foundation to mix it before application. The bottle has a little "bead mixer", like those found in nail polishes. The foundation's consistency is very thin, almost watery when first dispensed from the bottle's pump. When applied, it melds into the skin. The look is very natural looking and provides sheer light to medium coverage, much more than a tinted moisturizer. Yet, the foundation does a terrific job of evening out the skin and covering hyper-pigmentation spots, leaving an even, creamy look. Now, I haven't tried it to wear it all day as yet, but will update this review after I find out about the foundation's staying power. I just wish it was more affordable! That's the only drawback to using this foundation. Love, love, love this.
EDIT: Well, I have tried this foundation for three days now and I still LOVE it. It's important to moisturize your skin before applying the foundation. After application, I tried NYC translucent pressed powder and the coverage didn't really last that well. Today, I used Bobbi Brown loose powder in soft sand this morning and it has stayed beautifully all day. Finally, my HG foundation. EDIT #2: This stuff is still wonderful. It's working very well for me, day in and day out. I hope that it works for you, too! Love it.

I also didn't like this foundation. My skin is oily in my t-zone and very dry on my cheeks due to winter, and I was looking for an alternative to my mineral makeup. In the past I have used BB foundations, but this one gave me several large cysts on my jaw line and white heads on my forehead and temples. I have mild rosacea, and my problem area is around my nose, never my forehead and chin.
The foundations was very light and blendable, but made my combo. skin, very greasy by mid morning. I tried applying it several ways, none to my liking. It did have fairly good staying power, but made my pores look big and overall shiny. The pump applicator was nice, two pumps was plenty. I returned it.

It's a little early to rave about something I've only used once...but. I was intrigued by the advirts so I went to the BB counter to find out more. From what I gathered it was going to be completely sheer like a TM; which I didn't think my skin was perfect enough to get away with. I was just about to depart empty handed when I decided to ask for a sample. I use EL DWL in 01, which is a little on the light side, but the closest they have. Lately this foundie has been making my skin rather flakey and clogged. So, I asked for a sample in 01. I hate to try new things on my face, especially if I don't think they will work. After having misgivings I decided to give it a whirl, and I am very glad that I did. This is not as light as a TM. It actually covers as much as my EL DWL, but sans flaky mess and obvious foundie look. I went back today and picked up a full size in 2 Sand and LM Translucent powder, since my T-zone got a bit too glowy after a few hours. I am excited to try my new shade tomorrow morning. For ref, I'm yellow toned, hyperpigmented, and BB Foundation brush is the one I always use.
Update: Acne prone, and no breakouts yet to report. After using it for a few days, I noticed that it wears much better than my EL DWL, at least during the cool winter days. I have no more ugly flakiness or dry patches that I once had at the end of the day. Also, my skin is much more comfortable, relaxed, and breathable. Just have to say, this doesn't seem that expensive to me, in comparison to other brands. I guess I'm the type willing to pay a little more for something if it really works.
Update: I'm a combo girl, & this stuff starts off okay, but by the end of the day it seems to melt around my T-zone. This is not a pretty picture. I can only see it getting worse, now that it is Spring. It might be also causing clogged pores, not sure.
Well, I gave it real shot; I think 2 1/2 weeks.

I'd given up on liquid foundations. I'd tried some from different brands over the years, but with always feeling like I was wearing a mask coupled with the fact SAs seemed determined to match me to a medium shade when in fact I am PPP meant I had pretty much given up and was resigned to LM MMU forever. Then I heard about this new foundation from BB and it sounded exactly what I was looking for. I went to the counter with low expectations about being matched correctly, but the SA actually took the time and matched me with Porcelain. It matches perfectly. She used a foundation brush which made it streaky, as it has a very thin consistency, but with the 187 it applies flawless, sheer and even. It really does look like my skin but better, and does not have the feeling of wearing heavy foundation at all. Love it. Total HG.

I was intrigued by this foundation and read all the reviews here. I got a card in the mail from Bloomies for a free sample. However, stopped by my usual BB counter in Nordies first. Ask the MA for a sample and she gave me 7.5 Warm Walnut. Didn't try it on me to make sure, but she wasn't the regular MA there. Took it home and was amazed by how watery it was. Put it on and was not so enthused, but didn't dislike it. I thought it might have been a little dark since I am not normally Warm Walnut in the winter. Loved the consistency. I trend to be oily, but as I get older more combination.
Well, I decided to go to Bloomies and get a sample and color matched. MA used 7 Almond and it looked AMAZING on like I had on no foundation. I mentioned that I do then to get oily in the T Zone and she applied some loose powder. It looks great and I will try it for another few days before making my final decision about buying the regular size, but if it looks as great the next 2 days, I am sold. Doesn't look like I am wearing a thing.....
BTW: I have been a BB fan for years and normally wear the Oil Free Foundation, but felt it was too heavy. I've been told my skin is great, but I do have some hyperpigmention in a couple of spots that need to be evened out.
Edit: I have been wearing this for about 10 days or so and it looks great. I do have oily t-zone and with powder (BB basic Brown) loose powder it looks great and lasts pretty much all day with the use of blotting papers and pressed powder on t-zone. I don't look like an oil slick at the end of the day and skins looks fabulous. Good choice!

I absolutely love this foundation. I have been wearing Bobby Brown products since I was 17 (I will be 32 this year). I have orange and green undertones in my skin and her line is the only one I have found that matches. I use Golden #6 and it is enough coverage to even out hyperpigmentation on my forehead, yet light enough that I look like I just have naturally perfect skin. I have dry skin and before applying the foundation I just make sure the extra dry parts of my skin have moisturizer and I apply the foundation with my fingers. Powder is optional for me because the finish is so great. If I get a bit oily, I just use one of those red cosmetic sponges (like you get at a beauty supply store) to blot oil.

What a great foundation to put in my rotation...I have oily, sensitive, fair skin, and am using the Warm Ivory. I'm a huge BB fan, and would say that this is a great everyday foundation for me 9 months out of the year. I don't think it will hold up in heavy summer heat on my skin (I don't like to wear more than a little powder in summer anyways), but you never know. Will report back on that this summer. Anyways, even though this is a moisturizing foundation, it lasts beautifully on my oily skin, and it completely evens out my skin tone. Looks great in broad daylight, definitely has a dewey finish, and absolutely does not irritate or get itchy on me. I still say her Smooth Skin Foundation is the way to go for a special occasion (just unreal staying power on oily skin) but the Smooth Skin is a bit trickier to apply. This I just apply with my fingers (some prefer to use a brush, but I find using a brush to apply foundation on oily skin just doesn't work) in about 15 seconds, and I hardly have to use any, just a tad more than one pump. Like all Bobbi foundations that I have tried, you really have to have a good canvas to put this on, make sure you have exfoliated and use the right moisturizer, but I do that anyways. It's been a long, cold, dry winter so far, and I'm using the Vitamin Enriched Face Base (I think it's called) and this works well with that. I'm wondering now though, I bet this looks fantastic in low lighting in the evening...I always say try to get a sample to try a foundation at home first, but if you can't, this is worth trying.
UPDATE: I still love this foundation, it's a great everyday product for this stay at home mom, but like every other foundation I try (no matter the finish) I do have to blot throughout the day. I'm oily. It would be great if this foundation came in two formulations, one for dry/normal and one for oily/normal, but it doesn't and probably won't so oh well. I haven't found a matte foundation that performs like this one (and if you are reading this and have a solution for me, feel free to send me a note!).

This foundation has decent coverage. I love the way it looked in the morning when I put it on. Very natural & dewy and didnt feel to heavy. However at the end of the day I looked like a shiny disco ball. This is a great foundation if you are willing to blot during the day. Keep in mind my T-zone is pretty oily but with my mineral makeup I dont have to blot at all. Even with Revlon Colorstay foundation I dont have to take alot of time out for upkeep and its only $11. I would definately get a sample first and try to the whole day before purchasing a bottle of this because the price is pretty steep. Im not totally against this product. Im sure it works well for some who dont have the same skin type as me. I think I would use it again as special occasion foundation but not as an everyday foundation.

I have been using Mac satin finish mineral foundation(NC40) and it was okay for my skin tone. However I felt it was heavy to apply and I feel like I was applying a thick layer of paint on my skin every time I used. I have a mature skin and I wanted to get a foundation with light texture with good coverage. Boy! I am glad that I found this one. I purchased #4 natural right away after SA recommended and tried on my face. I have been using this for about a week now and I just love it. I have combination skin with dry cheek and it does hydrate my face all day and the coverage last long too. This foundation is not oil free and I wonder that has something to do with its staying power. It is quite watery and I personally think it applies better by hand than brush. I totally agree with the previous review that somehow your skin looks better and more natural as time goes. It is expensive but it's worth $$.
Wonderful product!

This foundation applied like a dream and quickly melded into my skin. The texture is thin and watery and 1-2 small pumps was all that I needed. To be so sheer, the coverage was better than expected. I typically wear LM Sunny Beige and was matched w/ BB Beige. Skin foundation is not oil-free, per an on-line mua. Even after powdering, I looked far too glowy. My face became increasingly greasy throughout the day and so the foundation went back. I know a couple of people w/ dry skin who wear this and it looks great on them, though.

I got this in Sand as well. I'm an NC 15-20. It matches my skin perfectly. It's like it was made for me! I am sometimes too quick to review a product so I've been wearing this for a week now and I feel it's time. I have been on a hunt for the perfect foundation for me since I started wearing foundation about 3 years ago. I've tried everything under the sun, cheap to very expensive, powder to liquid to cream to stick. Usually foundation just melts off of me or just looks awful. I've got oily t-zone, I don't want a foundation to look fake or scream wrinkles! Wrinkles!! I like a natural look but yet still have some coverage that would last all day and still look good at the end of the day. I know, it's a lot to ask. But HALLELUYAH!! I've found it!!!! This is like magic on me! I use a 188 brush to apply and I just apply a small amount. I set it with Laura Mercier setting powder and poof!! It's soooo beautiful and natural looking! It literally looks like real skin! It looks sooooo natural but yet it covers! AND, it lasts all day!! I have to say that as the day goes on it tends to look BETTER than when I first applied it. I have worn this for 13 hrs and it had started to come off just a little at that point. I do have to blot from time to time but when I blot it doesn't come off. It doesn't feel like I have anything on my face either. I just love this stuff and I hope Bobbi Brown makes it forever! The only thing that I don't like is the 45$ price tag. But I will see how long it lasts, probably a long time because I don't use that much. This stuff is wonderful!
Edit: This started to break me out!

I recently purchased this foundation in Sand. My skin has been ultra dry but also breaking out for some odd reason. How annoying is it to be 42 and still get zits?! Anyway, I needed something different that would cover my imperfections but soothe my skin. I was skeptical when I first tried it. The formulation is incredibly sheer and I was afraid it would not have enough coverage. Boy was I wrong. It goes on perfectly even, covers well, is comforable, and, most importantly, stays on! It doesn't get greasy or fade away like so many other foundations I have used. I think this is worth a shot if you are dealing with moody skin.

This has to be one of the best foundations I have ever come across ...... the coverage is perfect as well as it looks incredibly natural. Prior to using glycolic acid peels and retin-a, my skin on the underneath had discolorations but years of treatment has taken away the discolorations, however, my new skin on the underneath of my chin is now a different color than my face which is why I have been on the search for the right foundation to balance out my color and make me look more uniform ...... the best I have found up until now is Armani's Face Fabric in shade 8 however, while the color worked, it was not long lasting throughout the day (the face fabric is not a foundation) and I had to do touch-ups at times, however now I have found BB Skin Foundation is Alabaster and I am extremely pleased ..... while Alabaster is still a tad off for me in terms of color, the quality is exceptionel and looks incredibly natural ..... by looking at me it would be hard to see that my underneath of my skin is darker than my face as it blends perfectly nor would you be even able to guess that I am wearing foundation ----- yes, it looks that natural ..... to me if this would be a tad lighter this would be a 100% hit for me, but as is, this is 99% perfect for me ..... worth every penney. I still highly recommend Armani's Face Fabric, however, if I am going to be out all day, then I use the Skin Foundation, as this stuff stays on all day and does not smear nor budge until I remove my makeup.

I've been wearing BB Skin Foundation each day for the past week and must say that I like it a lot! It's sheer-medium coverage is perfect for me. It's not hot heavy or greasy at all and is pretty long lasting. I apply it with my 187 brush and set with MUFE Super Mat Loose for a very nice satin finish. I don't think the finish is dewy at all. I think dryer gals would definitely need a moisturizer underneath. Quite a while back I swore off liquid foundations -- especially BB since they're so heavy/thick -- but I think this one's a keeper. I'm a NC30-35 and wear BB Warm Beige 3.5.
