Not bad. I only apply at night, and agree that it flakes if you add too much. That said, I haven't even tried to use it under mascara. I've never used any lash-boosting serums/Latisse/Lipocils/etc before, mostly because of the price. But at $15, the L'Oreal product is doing quite well. I didn't buy the lash-boosting mascara; I only bought the serum. I've been applying it for about 3 weeks now (not every single night, but most nights), and my lashes are definitely stronger and I dare say a bit longer. I keep subconsciously touching them, which is how I finally realized they were improving. I tried using this on my brows as well and I don't see a significant difference there although I'm gonna keep trying. I actually like the soft applicator - I can't think of anything better they could've used considering the way it's applied. No issues with side effects, although occasionally my eyes will itch just a tiny bit if I apply too much. Otherwise - no stinging or burning which is what I expected considering the 2nd or 3rd ingredient in the product is alcohol. The only problem I have with this kind of stuff is the reports that your lashes/brows return to "normal" once you discontinue using the product. Bummer!

I have been using this serum for 4 weeks now. I don't do reviews here right away. I wait for a month or two to do a review so I can tell you exactly what I think of it, but within the past 4 weeks I've been very impressed with the results so far. I've been using this religiously day/night. I've never had any problems with it. I looked in the mirror this morning and noticed a few lashes sprouting. So, I think this product works for me. I'll do another update in 4 weeks and see what happens. I'm hoping this serum will thicken my lashes. So, to be continued.... ******UPDATE****** Okay, this is an update. It has been 8 weeks altogether. I had to stop using this serum because a few weeks after I did this review I woke up with red, swollen, and irritated eyes. I went to my eye doctor to get it checked out and found that I had an allergic reaction to this stuff. It's weird why I didn't have allergies sooner, but it can happen later on. I wish I could keep using this stuff because I did notice great results. My lashes did grow, but the ingredients irritated my eyes during the later phase. I originally put 5 stars, but had to remove a few due to my allergies. I just bought a tube of Rapid Lash to try. I will have to do a review on it in a month to see if it's good. I hope to find something that won't irritate my eyes. But, if you have tough skin, this serum works. I only wish I could use it :(

YES!!! I seriously cannot believe this worked, and-- OVERNIGHT. I am Asian with moderate fullness and a typically short length. I bought it yesterday, and applied it last night, a few coats per upper and lower lashes (dipped about 3 times each), and then drew it across both lashlines. And this morning, I swear I have at least a 2-3mm length growth. Absolutely blown away. I was so suspicious, and really thought if anything, I'd have to shell out at least enough to get the Tarte one. Who knew you could get something this effective and affordable from a drugstore. Bravo L'oreal!! I am so thrilled to make this a part of my routine going forward.

EDIT: I have gone back to pick up 2 more of these, just in case they change the formula. Yes, it's that good.

I am using using the generic version of Latisse (Lumigan) from alldaychemist, and I'm getting wonderful results. I use the Lumigan on the base where you would apply eyeliner, then I use this on my actual lashes and it seems to really boost the Lumigan's results! I have tried Mavala's double lash and Lipocils on my lashes and this kicks butt compared to those. This actually coats your lashes, while the other products seem watery and just don't stick to my lashes.
I only apply this at night and my lashes haven't fallen out at all and they are so soft!
EDITED TO ADD: 04/12/10. I am still using this nightly with my Lumigan and my lashes are looking great! They are so much thicker than they were before- didn't get a whole lot of length, but I'll take what I can get, my lashes haven't fallen out like another poster had a problem with. My tube is almost gone and I've already bought a back-up.

As a BzzAgent, I received this serum and the matching mascara for free in order to test out its effectiveness.
It's been a little over a month now, and I've definitely noticed a difference in the length of my lashes. My lashes are naturally short and sparse. I was supposed to apply the serum to my lashes and my lash line every night before bed, and do the same thing before applying makeup in the morning. Well, I didn't follow instructions to a T.
I only applied it at night for a few days and skipped application for many days. It still worked. My lashes were longer and slightly thicker; I could feel it.
Don't know about it making lashes softer because mine are baby soft to begin with. My lashes still fell out as usual. One (or two) thing(s) I don't like about this serum (and it's the reason why I don't want to use it) is that it's a hassle to keep applying every day and it kind of irritated my eyes when I put it on too close. The curved wand is a bit weird to use and there were times when I poked myself in the eye with it. Also, it got flaky if I applied too much and that does not look good with a made up face.
This is great if you remember to apply every night because it does work. If you skip it for 2 weeks or so, well your lashes will just go back to normal. For me, I prefer the mascara to the serum because I get excellent results without having to do this extra step.

This kicks butt of Latisse and all other serums that are intended for this purpose. Not only this product does not cause any negative side effect, it is extremely effective and gentle for sensitive eyes. I used this for a couple of days and then I forgot to use it for a day. I used it again but it was not like twice a day as suggested. My lashes still got longer and fuller. My lashes were not short to begin with, but they were very fine. This product totally boosted my lashes as claimed. I am very happy customer. Go L'Oreal!

It's now 2 months I have started using it and I have noticed a significant difference. My top lashes have become thicker and fuller however the effects on my lower lashes is less noticeable. Overall, I am pleased with the results; however I found it can leave this sticky glue-like stringy bits on the lashes so now I use it only at night and also I'm not so keen on the applicator.

I'm not usually a person to do reviews, I usually just read them but after using this product I had to sign up and write a review. Who could of thought that something by L'Oreal that only costs $9 and some change would actually work? Well...This product is absolutely amazing. I'm obsessed with big and long eyelashes but I wasn't lucky enough to be born with such. So I've spent lots of time messing with mascaras since lash treatments were so expensive. I figured I'd give this a try and I'm VERY glad I did. I've only been using it for TWO days and my eyelashes are already noticably longer and fuller. I mean, you can see a complete change. This morning I didn't even have to plump up my lashes with several mascaras. I used maybelline's great lash and we all know it's nothing special and my lashes looked amazing. It's definitely worth a try. I'm now in love with this product and I will be repurchasing.

I didn't think this product met expectations. Yes it is odourless and reasonably easy to glide on, but that's where it ends.

I used mine for 3 weeks, just shy of the 4 week recommendation because not only did I see no improvement, but a decline in the health of my eye lashes. I followed instructions precisely by coating my lashes and lash line as well as occasionally using it on my eye brows. However, the applicator is incredibly difficult to manoeuvre, it looks like a soft flexible scoop in the shape of a curve. The application was never even- in my attempts to be thorough to ensure my lashes received equal treatment, they were left gunky and sticky. In the morning, I would awake to the product smeared over my eye lids. I would try washing it off, however the product resisted. It was like trying to wash oil with just water.

After using make up remover and cleaning up my face, I went on to apply my mascara. The first time I had a thin coating of the serum on (the packaging states it can be safely warn under mascara). I use L'Oreal Collagen infused Volume Mascara which normally gives me thick lashes. However with the serum my lashes not only clumped but appeared spidery.

As time went on, I awaited the promised improvements, however my lashes kept getting worse. Eventually I started getting lashes stuck in my eyes as they fell out, as well as on my cheek. That's when I knew enough was enough. My lashes did not look stronger, even without the serum on my mashes, my mascara was still applying wretchedly and now they were starting to fall out.

That was a week ago, my lashes are almost back to normal, and they stopped falling out immediately after discontinuing use. I was disappointed, I saw no new budding growth to replace my lashes, no thickness (in fact they were thinner). If you'r looking for real improvement Mavala makes an exceptional drug store eye lash enhancer that works for the same price (my eyes were too sensitive, but I used it long enough to see reasonable results).
Happy Shopping

I've been using this for a week and a half now twice a day, before makeup and before bed and thus far I am very pleased with it. I notice that I no longer lose lashes like I did and that my mascara applies much more smoothly and evenly. My lashes were not bad to begin with, but I do lose some here and there and figured it would be good to condition them, which is what this does. It won't create miracles, but it also won't discolor your eyes. Overall it strengthens and conditions your lashes, which I am sure will also lead to them growing more quickly and causing them to be slightly longer and certainly stronger.

I find that it does clump your lashes together a bit, I don't care at night but during the day I simply wait for it to dry and then use a comb to seperate any lashes before I apply my mascara and this works perfectly.

Price was not bad, but I could understand some people not wanting to fork over 12 bucks for this if their lashes are already pretty good. Application is also slightly annoying, I do wish they had designed the wand more like a mascara wand; I was a bit surprised at the curved, solid applicator that I found, but I guess they were also trying to find a way to fix it so you can use the point to apply the serum along the lashline (similar to eyeliner, which is their suggested application along with sweeping against the lashes).

Miracle worker? No. Very good lash treatment and conditioner? Hell yah!

Astonished with the results and worth the price! In fact, I would pay more for the results I've experienced using this. I was skeptical but I had lashes falling out left and right. In just one week this made my lashes stronger with less to no lash loss. Not only that but they are longer and gaps are filling in. My only recomendation is that if you are going to use this during the day also,(it's for day and nightime use) that you not let it dry before applying your mascara. Otherwise, the serum will flake on you. I am definately making this part of my bedtime routine.

A happy customer is a customer with realistic expectations. I've been looking for a simple, inexpensive lash conditioner for some time now. I use false eyelashes on occasion, and curl my natural lashes every day. Needless to say, it takes a toll on the health of my eyelashes.
I was hoping that this product would make my eyelashes stronger, and over time perhaps a bit thicker or a touch longer. I am pleased so far-- I have been using it for a few weeks and see some improvement. My eyelashes are definitely healthier, and it looks like there's more of them. I can't tell if they are any longer. Overall, I am now happier with my lashes. I can curl and them put on some mascara and they look rather nice. Not a fake-lash effect, but nice. I got it at Walmart for $12, so the price was not unreasonable.

I figured for $15, why the heck not give it a try!!??? I have been using at least once a day for about two weeks and my lashes are DEFINITELY stronger and more conditioned and I notice less are falling out when I remove makeup. I'll keep using this. Well worth $15.

I was skeptical, too .. but yet I am a sucker for anything new that comes out so I had to try this. My lashes are thin, short, and grow in every direction. I have been using this now for about 8 days and I actually did notice just this morning - there is a definite difference - after only 8 days. My lashes seem stronger, they don't come out as much, and they are growing all in the same direction as God intended instead of all wonky as before. I don't notice much yet in terms of thickness but they definitely are longer and stronger. I am excited to see what happens after a month. This does not sting or have any smell - it's pleasant to use. I wish the wand had bristles - I would feel like it was coating the eyelash better but I guess they know what they are doing. I bought the combo that also has the mascara that supposedly has this serum in it, too, and have been faithfully using it.
All in all, I am a happy camper and would recommend. You are not gonna have batwings or anything major like that, but it actually does seem to be doing what it claims to do.

I have been using this 2x a day for almost a month now. Before bed, as the last product I put on my face, and in the morning before my mascara. It's a gel like product, very cooling sensation each time I apply. It does cause the lashes to clump depending on how much you put on, but at night I don't care and in the morning an application of mascara separates my lashes just fine, so that's not a problem for me. I saw results within the first few days, a subtle curling of the lashes, a hint of length at the tips. I don't see any increased fullness or new lashes, just an enhancing of what I already have. A month later the results are better than the ones I got in the first week, but still subtle. My lashes appear almost naturally curled at the tips, longer than they've ever been but it's a natural look, not a falsie look. I will say my lashes also seem stronger, more conditioned, I didn't lose many before but I don't lose any now. I like the results very much, but it's not a replacement for wearing falsies. Oh and as an aside, my blue eyes are as blue as ever :)

I bought this on a whim after spotting it at the pharmacy in my small little town.. lol.. anywho, It was a mere 15 bucks (CAD) and after seeing the hefty price tag on the rapidlash and knowing latisse will not be an option ( here in canada anyways, don't think it has been approved yet) I figured it was worth a shot. My lashes break easily and shed even worse.. they are thin and scrawny,, yes, scrawny is a good descriptive word.. anyways, It has been 10 days into using the serum 2 times a day and I have to say so far I am impressed. My lashes feel softer, I lose less of them per day and they are not as prone to breakage, so when I look at my lashes now, they are definately fuller. Definately healthier. this product does require patience, it is not an overnight change, but it is worth the wait, and I am only 10 days into it, So I will continue to use this faithfully. For me personally it is nothing short of a small miracle as my lashes were not fantastic to begin with.
YAY for L'Oreal. hee hee.. oddly enough, i do not like any of their mascaras.. but this stuff is wykid..

I had been reading reviews about Latisse and RapidLash, and was considering sinking some serious money into trying something like that out. Then I happened to be in Walmart and saw the L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum. I figured that at $14.99, I didn't have much to lose. I have been using it consistently, twice a day, for two and a-half weeks now and I definitely see a difference. My lashes are definitely longer, although I'm not sure that they're fuller. The only reason I didn't give this the top rating is that my lashes do seem to clump together when I'm using it. But at the price and with the results I've gotten, I'll continue to purchase this product.

I have to say I was pretty skeptical when this product arrived. The claims were lushes lashes in 4-6 weeks, stronger less fall outs and healthier looking. I purchased this product at the shoppers I worked at, I am a cosmetician and I was still afraid to buy somthing that would probably would be a waste. Anyways my lashes before using this product were not horrible, they are long full and such but no ones ever just happy with there own lashes. So I purchased it brought it home and examined the applicator that was attached for distributing the product, I was completley puzzled but after a few times found an application way that suited me.. Anyways I used this at night and had no negative side effects Example: Stinging, burning, itching, swelling, redness.. (Nothing) I have very sensitive problematic skin so everyone knows. And obviously there was no instant results which wasnt expected.
But after being consistant for 2 weeks I noticed a fuller, lusher lash look and even longer lashes as well, It was so easy to coat my lashes with my mascara that it was like a dream.. I was very much impressed with the results. (I have been only using the serum not the mascara with the serum in it). But like I said it was great, and for the price which was $16.00 CND I think thats a steal for lusher lashes ( it saves on mascara ).
So if your like me and are skeptical about purchasing this then read more reviews about this item until you have a better idea. But honestly go buy it whats it gonna hurt..

I love what this is doing for my lashes. After about three weeks of usage, they do seem longer and much stronger. I tend to have long but very fine lashes and this serum night and day treatment has done some good at making them stronger and fuller when I apply my mascara. Not sure how this works, but guess I won't be buying Latisse, this stuff is super gentle and much less costly. I am losing less lashes when I take my makeup off too! A good thing!
