I bought this because I loved the look of the tube. I'm a sucker for packaging, what can I say? But it's not a good mascara for me. It clumps and smudges after only a couple hours. Yuck. I didn't care for the brush either. I felt it didn't separate at all.

I saw it first in a magazine. I figured it was just some mascara that promised long beautiful lashes and didn't quite measure up. But then my mom bought some and I tried it. I was sort of drawn to it by the red tube. My mom bought some for me and I got into a routine of using it more often. The idea is to lengthen and separate without clumping, and create a fan of lashes that goes from one corner to the other. Creating a sexy and dramatic effect. It doesn't say waterproof on the bottle, but I see sad movies and I never come out of one with running mascara. I can't say enough good stuff about this mascara! This will make your old mascara run and hide in fear!!

I'm normally a fan of CG mascara, but I was expecting more from this one (maybe because it's so popular). FL lengthens, but I didn't get very dramatic lashes. It's also dry and a little clumpy, and flattens the curl right out of my lashes. But like other CG mascaras, it doesn't smudge or irritate, and it's easy to remove. Maybe I got one of the "off" tubes. I'm willing to repurchase it to find out, and probably will. (Will update when that happens.) Update: I got a newer tube; it's not clumpy but it still doesn't have much of an impact on me. I prefer Super Thick Lash to this. For reference, I have long black lashes.

1st tube: lauded/praised FL. 2nd tube: got a 'miss' tube - dried out faster - formula drier & not as effective/fantastic - yet - still no raccoon eyes & still quite voluminous & long w/only 2 coats. 3rd tube: back to 1st tube RAVES! Returned to gorgeous full & long lashes AND FL was put to test by 34hr horror travel story - incl. not being able to remove makeup & reapply - stuck in/trying to sleep in airport/bouts of crying. Still no raccoon eyes & my lashes were soft (not brittle). Tips: for wetter product on brush - pump wand quickly 30x & when applying - don't go for 3rd coat - you'll get clumps & don't wait too long to use eyelash comb - mascara'll be too dry & will look brittle. HG for price & effect - BUT it's hit & miss with the tubes - seem to vary in quality. Wonder what my 4th tube'll be like....

I found this to be just an "okay" mascara. It's cetainly inexpensive, however, I found it too dry for my taste, taking more effort to coat all the lashes than I would like. I tend to prefer the dept. store mascaras but occasionally, I try drupstore ones on the chance that I will like one of them just as well but to date, this has not occurred, so I'm probably wasting more money on these because I throw them out within a few weeks and just go back to the pricier brands anyway. This mascara has little to no clumping and doesn't seem to flake or smudge, so If you're looking for these features and don't mind a drier formula, this may be one to try---I did not obtain much increase in volume or length with this mascara either. I would not repurchase.

Ugh, I wanted to love this as it seems to be so many people's HG. At first I was utterly horrified because I tried to apply it over a lash primer and it was godawful. It looks okay without the primer, at least. But my tube was really dry and clumpy. I hear this mascara is very hit or miss, some tubes are very wet and creamy while others are almost dried out -- I suppose I got one of those, but it was enough to turn me off to it.

Pretty good for a drugstore mascara. Very basic. Goes on smooth, no clumps, no smudges. What I am looking for is thickening with no length, since my lashes are long enough but thin. This works well - average volume and no lengthening on me. Like the fat tube but to repeat what someone else posted, it is clunky in the makeup bag! All in all though I liked it.

I love this mascara! I don't see how anyone could give it lower then a 4 because this is much better the the high-end mascaras that i have bought in the past.

It curls my lashes very well and builds them to be thick and long. I love how it looks and people ask me what mascara i'm wearing because they look so good!
HG for sure.

I never thought that CG would make a decent product and I never thought of trying anything from CG until I heard someone swearing by this mascara. After the first use I thought it's quite nice: makes the lashes thick and long, and does not smudge (I was testing this at home and I just simply put on 2 coats of this). Thought it was close to my HG mascara (Lancome Definicils) until I put it on for the second time. It's still smudge-free, which is great, but it really doesn't separate or define the lashes. After applying more than 2 coats, it basically "glues" a couple of lashes together and give that "big lashes look", in a bad way of course. So I have this thick, black, spidery look lashes, totally not the thick full lashes I'm looking for. I give it a 3, which is one average mascara. I can see it working nicely when 1 or 2 coats are applied. But I love dramatic lashes and I usually go for 3 or more coats, and this mascara certainly doesn't do it for me in that case.

I've been looking for a HG mascara lately since Chanel discontinued their Sculpting Mascara-Extreme Length, and this CG mascara is close. It builds good length and thickness on my thin, short lashes and doesn't smear or smudge. My only complaint is that after having the tube for only a short time, the mascara is beginning to get thick and go on clumpy(despite wiping the wand). It's easily fixed with a lash comb, but I'd prefer that it applied as it did when I bought it--smooth and no clumping. It's good for the price, though, and I probably will repurchase.

I don't understand this mascara. I guess I've had good luck with mascara, because never before has a mascara given such meager length and poor separation, with uneven thickness and minor clumping. Plus, it felt scratchy and spiky all day. I was very jaded by this mascara and will never deviate from my usual L'Oreal and Maybelline mascaras ever again. Yuck.

I wasn't terribly impressed by this.I was hoping for super thick lashes, but all I got was a little lengthening and no volume. The mascara doesn't clump or smear, which is a good thing, but it deosn't perform like Voluminous.I will be returning this.

This is the best drugstore mascara I've found, although it doesn't get a 5 because it doesn't match my HG, Clinique's Lash Doubling mascara. But it does add a bit of curl, a bit of length, and deepen my lashes. Stays on well. I like the tube (so easy to hold onto) but it really takes up a lot of room in my make-up bag.

..."smoothly separates and thickens lashes without clumps or spikes" - Well, not for me. I didn't care for the product one bit. I will stick to my Maybelline Full 'N Soft Washable (not the waterproof, which smudges).

I really liked this mascara. I usually look for the more high end department store brands. But this one really did make my lashes go POW!! My lashes are long but thin and far and few in between. This really made my lashes look longer, thicker, and really stand out beautifully. Doesn't look clumpy or have any lumps in them. PERFECT!

I think I have found my HG mascara. I have been on a search for quite some time, but I think this it! Fantastic lash is fantastic! It stretches, seperates, lengthens, and makes my lashes look very pretty and very flirty. It even gives them bit of a curl without having to use an eye lash curler. And this mascara lasts a long long time without smudging (this has been my problem with all the other mascaras i have tried). Definetly recommend this mascara if you are on the search for the perfect mascara, this is the one!

I'd give this mascara a C+/B-. While it lengthens, it's nothing spectacular. And though it thickens, again, it's nothing spectacular. But at least it's noticable on my lashes (unlike some other mascaras - L'Oreal's Featherlash, I'm looking at you). I did a side-by-side comparison of this mascara versus Maybelline Illegal Lengths, and the results show that Maybelline lengthened and defined/separated my lashese more, while Cover Girl give a bit more thickness. But I bet no one except myself (and make-up obsessed ladies) could tell the difference between my lashes.

For a while, this was great. I could actually SEE my short little lashes. But after about two weeks, it got really clumpy and stuck to the top of the wand. I just couldn't get it to look right. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone.

This gives good thickness and decent length, but it's a bit dry (as with all CG mascaras). It undid my curl somewhat and, while not bad, it's not the HG either. I was a bit sad to see that out from the honkin' big tube came a not-huge wand (I was hoping for a Bad Gal Lash type of wand for the purely psychological link to giant lashes) If applied carefully after plenty of curling, it really is pretty good at the "fan" effect they advertise. Probably won't repurchase because the search for THE mascara will probably never end.

I have a love/hate relationship with this mascara. Some days it looks really good, but other days it looks clumpy and smears. It does lengthen and thicken my lashes. I think I need to try wiping more off the wand before applying it to see if it helps. I'm very picky about my mascara, but this is a decent mascara for the price.
