I actually really, really love Proactiv. I got hooked on it when I worked for them, I dont anymore but its still the only thng I use. The regular strength kit works best on people with normal to oily skin, and it takes up to 2 months to see full results, but Ive been using this for 2 years and it has CONSISTENTLy kept my skin clear. The only problem is that this stuff gets pricey.. almost $50 for the whole kit.

Joined this site so I could post a review on this product....I really don't know why this product is so popular...it just burns your skin, like the drug store brands. They spend so much in celebrity endorsements - they should really spend more on the product - it was horrible for my skin.

I used this a while ago..it didn't work at all. Instead it dried out my skin, so I ended up with pimply PLUS dry, flaky skin. I think the key to clearing up the zits is to be gentle to your skin. Use a gentle cleanser that won't irritate the skin, tone with a gentle, non-alcoholic toner, don't over exfloliate, and use a topical spot gel (benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid). Make sure to use a non-clogging moisturizer, and perhaps a mineral powder foundation instead of liquid foundation/ pressed powder.

i used this consistently for about 1 year. the first 2 months it worked great, i had less breakouts and my skin looked pretty good. well after those 2 months the effect started to wear off. so i switched to Neutrogena, then after using that for 2-3 months i went back to Proactiv. well big mistake, my skin went even worse. keep in mind that i used this consistently. also they would keep sending me packages after packages of the stuff. AHG i called and complained and i had my mum call and complain to them but they would keep sending the kits. finally my mum just stopped paying for it, but nooo they still keep sending us bills. beyond annoying.

Tried to use this product three times..never worked. I think every time I see those darn infomercials on television I get sucked in and try it again. It burns the heck out of my face and leaves it red and patchy and just plain UGLY for at least a week. You better forget trying to use this in the summer time if youre outside a lot (if your skin is anything like mine). Felt like the cleanser didn't fully clean my face, and it was also a little too abrasive for me. I have a separate exfoliator; I dont want it included in my cleanser.
Ill def never use this again. Ive had better results finding my own combonation of cleansers/toners on the shelves.

This product was over priced, and did little to improve my skin. I found that if you use a cleanser, moisturizer, and astringent from more reputable brands in combination it is cheaper and more effective. It was also very difficult to get the company to cancel you

When I first used Pro Activ, it didn't do anything for me and I quit using this product two weeks later. However, my friend told me to go back to it and just stick to it. I did and I'm glad that I did (the product worked about 4-6 weeks later). It's been two years now since using this product and I'm completely zit-free, every day. Prior to using this product, I would have about 3-4 zits everyday and I was never clear on any one day. I have oily skin, I don't use moisturizer (I should) and I don't have any problems with redness or dryness while on this product (I don't have sensitive skin either). This product works for me - I just needed to give it some time to work...and it was well worth the wait.

I used the original Proactiv for over a year and it did nothing for my skin. At first I broke out worse (which always happens when I put something new on my skin), then it started clearing up really well. After a couple months my skin was the same as it was before I used it. So I tried the the extra strength system a couple years later and I had the exact same results. If you have mild acne then this might work well for you, but for those of us who have persistant and/or severe acne, don't waste your money!

It gets pricey, but it has worked wonders on my skin. I've never had such nice skin before. The only downside is that you can't stop using it, otherwise you'll break out again. Another downside is that it gets expensive in the long run, and the 3-step system becomes a drag for someone who has a busy lifestyle. It definately doesn't work for everyone though, and the smells get irritating sometimes.

I have used Pro Activ for 8 years and it has worked wonders for my acne. I only stopped using it when I was pregnant. I have never had any side effects from it, nothing but great things to say.
**UPDATE**After years of using this it stopped working for me. I tried other products, came back to this and still nothing. The medication I am now on makes me break out and Pro Activ didn't help at all. It works for my son who is a teenager but as an adult dealing with hormonal acne, it does nothing.
