i gave the packaging a 1 because even though the tube is cute, the brush picks up entirely too much product. after wiping 2/3 of the gunk off with a kleenex, i finally got an amount that was manageable to put on my lashes carefully.

i'm used to being able to apply quickly and go. not so with this. there is so much mascara on the brush that you have to be extra cautious not to get it on your eyelids or make your eyelashes clumpy.

a sephora SA talked me into this when i was standing in line holding the diorshow mascara. i really wish i'd bought that instead.

after a disappointing experience with benefit bad gal lash and now this, i'm going to stick with drugstore mascara.

(EDITED: a fresh SA said that if i scrape the excess product off on the opening of the tube, it will be pushed back in as the brush goes back in. so i did that and it's fine. easier to apply. i still don't think it's worth $23.)

I generally am a fan of Fresh skincare products and a few makeup items, such as their Lip Shine and Pressed Powder. I bought this tube after an SA applied it on my eyes (using a different mascara wand than the one that is actually sold) and I was impressed by the way it volumized and darkened my lashes (I have long lashes, but not a lot volume-wise) and liked how it did not clump my lashes. I also have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts; I've tried using Maybelline and Covergirl mascaras before and every time, I have an allergic reaction. The Fresh Supernova mascara, after a few hours, had not caused an allergic reaction, so I decided to go back and purchase the product the next day.

However, once I applied the product myself a few days later, I was disappointed. Like another reviewer mentioned, it seems to clump easiliy and cannot hold a curl. I suppose this clumping was due to the fact that it was a different wand than that used by the SA in the store. I have to brush through my lashes to de-clump in order to get the look I do want. I have to try multiple times to get the curl to stay and even then, I have to re-apply throughout the day. For these reasons, I would not repurchase this item.

However, there are some pluses about this product, mainly that it is (at least it was for me) good for sensitive eyes and can volumize and darken--with the right mascara wand. I like that it is a 'wet" mascara and looks very dark and glossy once you put it on. I'd suggest using it as a "going out" makeup product for when you want dramatic eyes. As a basic, daily wear mascara, though, I would go with something else. I use Shu Uemura Mascara basic, which while it is quite pricey, does what I want it to--lengthens and holds curls while making my lashes darker without being spidery.

I tried this product and while I got thick, amazing black lashes, it was SO INCREDIBLY CLUMPY AND GROSS that I returned it. I didn't repeatedly apply the stuff either, just one coat was much too goopy for me to handle.

Packaging: love it. It's probably the prettiest tube of anything I've seen in a long time. Brush: it's okay. I like that the bristles are a little softer than other brands I've tried. Formula: so-so. For the price I expect to be totally knocked out, but it's not the best ever. Decent length and volume, no clumping smooth formula, very black. My biggest complaint? It seems to uncurl my lashes which annoys me to pieces. I want curl, darn it!

I've tried a mascara or two from Fresh before, which didn't leave me enamored. This one had gotten good reviews here, so I thought I'd try to be Fresh one more time! ;)

The packaging of SuperNova is nice. A typical plastic tube, black with silver decoration, but the tube and cap have been somewhat "rubberized" on the outside for a firmer grip. A very nice touch, but the brush is a little weird! At first I liked it, after the second use I wasn't so sure. This will probably sound a little weird, but the brush reminds me of a club foot. ROFL!! It's strangely rounded and wider at the bottom than it is at the top, making it a bit clunky and inconvenient for inner/outer corners and lower lashes.

As for the formula, SuperNova lengthens decently, thickens, and is a very dark black. The definition is pretty nice, too. Now that I've acquired a taste for a little volume, I thought this would be a contender. However, after wearing it a couple of times, I found out I was wrong. No, SuperNova isn't a bad mascara, it's just not as nice or as easy to apply as other favorites, both old and new.

I also noticed a teeny-weeny bit of flaking underneath my lower lashes. Nothing I'd worry about if the mascara were HG material, but it's not, so I'm commenting on it. Hehe! Otherwise, the mascara performed well; no smearing, smudging or sagging.

Giving this mascara three lippies out of five. Four if the brush were easier to use, but as it is, it's just a three IMHO. I don't think I'd buy this one again, either. Not with those other favorites running around!

I was hoping to fall in love, but once again, Fresh leaves me kinda stale. :P

The tube is spectacularly beautiful though; it is matte black with white swirls and stars inscribed onto it. However, the formula is too thick or something. It smell very strong and tar-like and when I use it the eyelash roots get sore and I lose lashes. I loved Firebird which Fresh discontinued. There were problems with the brush but they should have kept the mascara and repackaged as the formula was amazing - especially for sensitive peepers and people who don't want the heavy look of Supernova.

This is a nice mascara, but it flakes a little too much for me.

This is crazy fantastic mascara; with a crazy price tag. Oh well, I get the blackest, fullest, longest lashes of my life. I am finding that this mascara tube seems to last much longer compared to Lancome and a couple of others that I have used. the first couple of times I put this on it did smear; I have no idea why that side effect stopped, but glad it did because this ended up being an all time favorite for me.

This is my HG of mascara. From the first time I put it on, I knew I finally found the one. It makes my eyelashes SUPER SUPER long, seperated, and holds curl! It is the mascara sent from heaven, seriously. I don't have the problem of it not staying where it is put. I can't get over how great this mascara is.

I bought this on the recommendation of the SA. While the product goes on smooth and doesn't make your lashes crunchy, it doesn't stay planted where you leave it. Granted I have slightly oily skin but I had racoon eyes every time I wore this mascara. I can at least say my cheapy Rimmel mascara doesn't do that! Up for grabs on my swap list if anyone wants to try b4 they buy.

I think I love this mascara. I've had it for week and it may be the best I've ever tried. I have skimpy, short Asian lashes. The SA practically forced me to try this, but I'm now glad he did. This makes my lashes look long and thick without clumping(!) and they hold curl all day (I curl my lashes first with the shu curler). The SA explained that there is no alcohol in the formula, so it will not dry out my lashes and will not clump or look spiky. Despite the astronomical price at $25 for the tube, I love this and would repurchase. If it still looks good in a month, I'll upgrade my rating from a 4 to a 5. The packaging is gorgeous too.

This gorgously packaged mascara is possilby the worst I've ever used. Although the tube is artfully rendered, it functions horribly always depositing way too much mascara on the brush. Even after wiping off the excess to a manageable degree, I found the formula to be "clumpish" and dull. Finally, the mascara irritated my sensitive eyes. A real clunker.
(After reading the other rave reviews here, I am considering the possiblity that I got a defective tube!)

Good mascara, but won't purchase again. The color is nice and the formula gives you soft lashes. The problem is that it smudges easily, and for this price, I expect better.

I have sensitive eyes and the Fresh line works wonders for me. No probs with contacts. Lashes are soft and VERY full and glossy when I use this. Love the applicator too. Comes in a rubbery tube so wand doesn't slip. Very nice.

I've always wanted to buy fake lashes, but I dont know how to apply them, so I always look for my HG mascara. Ironically, the MA at Sephora who was helping me pick out LIPGLASSES had GREAT lashes. I asked her what she wearing and she showed me Supernova mascara. The packaging was soo pretty, black with white designs, and she let me put it on. I put two coats of it and my lashes looked awesome! But the TRICK was, it was $25! I was so hesitant, because I'm not made of money to pay $25 for a mascara! But Supernova is definitely worth the money. My lashes dont get hard and flake under my eye. It gives you volumized, thick and curled lashes, and looks better than any other mascara I have tried!

this was a complete impulse buy -- i had gone to sephora to look for diorshow, but since they were out, the SA pointed me in this direction. the packaging is adorable -- sleek black tube with silver embossing. i bought it and tried it on, and within 4 hours -- smudged all over the place! not pretty. in addition, this didnt do anything spectacular to my lashes, just made them a bit longer. for $25 a tube (which, mind you, is pricier than diorshow), i was expecting something more. back to sephora this goes.

Awsome mascara. I use DiorShow and this one is so much better. This gives lush, long lashes that are very Black and Glossy. And the tube is so beautiful .
