I'm never going to buy waterproof mascara agian. at least no this one. not only is it not really water proof, but it also feels plastic-y when it dries up. my lashes were stuck together and i hate to separate them when they dry up. it was knda hard to remove too.

Like many of the others I purchased this because I read good things about it. It does not live up to any of the praise in my book.

I knew when I pulled out the brush it wasn't going to be good, it felt cheap and stiff and hard coming out of the tube - like mascara from the sixties. Not dry, but like it was an old scary wire brush.

It is very waterproof, so if you swim alot it may be an option for you.

But it is too hard to remove, and that is unhealthy for your skin and eyes - you shouldn't have to apply force to remove makeup.

The brush stinks and is so stiffly bristled. It's skimpy and short. I like a longer brush full of bristles like L'oreal mascaras (at least some of them)or higher end brands.

It didn't make my lashes any fuller, or longer. Just blacker and clumpier. No separation.

I'm going to return it.

It's all hype. There's nothing great about this mascara except all the press it gets. It just didn't do anything for me. There's plenty of better choices on the market.

my mom picked this up for me a looooonggg time ago and i tried it back then and HATED it. it didnt do anything at all for my lashes. i threw it in my cosmetics bag that is full of makeup that i never use. well teh other day i decided to throw away stuff that i was never ever gonna use, so i went through the bag and stumbled across this. i tried it again and it worked a little better, but to be honest, i think the problem with this mascara is the brush!!! im gonna try using a voluminous brush with it but i dont know how well it will work. ill post the results later. the voluminious brush doesnt fit on this tube tho so i'd hafta mess with the two tubes and brushes everytime i were to use it. to me that is just too much work. we'll see what happens and if it sucks, i'll let u know.

THIS PRODUCT REMOVED MY EYELASHES the first time I used it! Steer clear of this horrid eye poison! Learn from me, please!!! This happened pretty close to my wedding day. I have *never* had an allergic reaction to any drugstore mascara, or any other makeup product, so this totally floored me. Not only did this stuff look spiky, goopy, and unnatural even after using an eyelash comb, but when I wiped it off with a baby-oil-soaked cotton pad, it took my eyelashes with it. They take 8 weeks to regrow! EGADS!

For the 4th of July I knew I was going in the pool so I decided to buy a waterproof mascara and picked this one up. I have mixed feelings about this one. The good part: it was waterproof because like I said I went into the pool and it didn't smudge at all and it lasted all day long. It also didn't clump or flake which was also good. Now here is what I didn't particularly like: the brush is so tiny (I use Diorshow regularly so I'm used to the great huge brush) so the brush couldn't really give my lashes any volume or length. I put on 3 coats and still no difference. It gave me a "natural" look and I loove dramatic lashes. And it also makes my lashes very hard and crunchy. And like a few people have stated this is tough to remove. I lost a few lashes trying to remove this stuff. To sum it up I don't think I will repurchase again...the bad outweighs the good. But if I ever go swimming again I will put this on but for regular use no way, Diorshow is my HG! And for a cheaper mascara I find that Maybelline's Lash Expansion is great.

I don't understand why everyone raves about Maybelline's mascaras. I've tried a couple, and none of them do anything for me. This smudges like no other, is quite flaky, weighs my lashes down, irritates my eyes... and believe it or not, even though it smudges it's impossible to wash off! At least it was cheap.

OMG you have to chisel this crap off! It covers OK, defines but does nothing to volumize or lengthen. And like I said, it's impossible to get off without rubbing your eyelids raw (I even used a makeup remover that works on all my other WP stuff).
Ironically, as hard as this is to remove it still managed to smudge and give me racoon eyes after a night out. Awful stuff, save up another 4 bucks and buy something decent.

I dunno whether it was because this product had sat on the store shelf for awhile before I purchased it, but I thought this was not as great as all the other Maybelline mascaras. The formulasnot very liquidy and obvious, so the brush was ab it ridgety. Nevertheless, I still use it, but only for my bottom lashes, because it doesn't give much volume to my upper lashes.

I only recently switched to this mascara because I'd heard so many great things about it. It happened to be on a buy-one-get-one-free deal at my local Walgreen's, so I figured them was the best time to give it a try. This is an impressive mascara. As a matter of fact, not only did I switch to this mascara, but when I bought one, my second free one I grabbed had a curved brush.. something I'd never tried before. Curved mascara wands make the delicate, tedious art form of applying mascara into simple finger painting. With a curved brush, you don't have to hassle nearly as much to get thick, uniform, curled, seperated lashes.

I'm not sure if it's all in the brush or if the Great Lash also helps out since I haven't purchased any different mascara brands with curved brushes to compare it to as of yet.. but I will. I do know that when I applyed the Great Lash using a straight brush, that it still gave beautiful results, except that I had to fuss a little more over the curling and seperation. Perhaps it is the two wonders combined that make it so groovy. Nonetheless, this is a very good mascara.

Based on the reviews of this and the regular version, this seemed to be a "love it" or "hate it" product. Therefore, I had to try it. I think I'm in the middle. Pluses: No irritation, holds curl, separates for a natural, yet defined look, CHEAP. Minuses: It smudges really quickly below the outer corners of my eyes. And this is the waterproof version? Lash Discovery waterproof does the same thing to me. Maybe it's Maybelline in general. I think they need to tweak their formulas. I would buy again and use as an HG if it weren't for the smudge factor.

Great staying power, a tad too much maybe? I can never get it fully off, even with soap and water. The regular Great Lash is the best.

I bought some of the non-waterproof b/c EVERYONE talks about how great it is, but it smudged HORRIBLY so I tried this instead. Eh. It's ok, but not that terrific. I have to rely on the straight pin trick to separate the clumps, and it is definitely not easy to re-apply later in the day - it's all stiff and EXTRA-clumpy then. Others' comments that it doesn't come off well are also true - I use make-up remover at night, but I still have semi-raccoon eyes in the morning. All in all, not a bad high-school girl mascara, but I'm looking for something a little better than this.

i bought this at walmart on a whim. at first when i applied this, it looked great! but then about an hour later,it looked clumpy and the tips of the lashes drooped...and i only put one coat on! it does not live up to its name-lashes are not so great and it is NOT waterproof. it smudges worse than a regular (non-waterproof) mascara. OH: usually mascaras dont irritate my eyes (im pretty immune to mascaras) but this made them sooooooooooooooooo itchy. it was horrible. when i scratched it smudged the mascara! too bad. i thought i had found my hg mascara.

Waterproof - HA!

There's really not much more to say on this one. It smudges, it clumps, it makes my eyes sting and I just plain don't like it.

I didn't like this mascara at all. I still have a pretty-full tube of it in my drawer that I'm sure I'll never use. It smudged under my eyes after a few hours every time I wore it (even though it's not supposed to) and made my eyes water. I thought I'd use it up at least, even though it smudged, but each time I wore it my eyes watered like crazy. Might work on other people but not the mascara for me. I love the Stila mascara in black and have ordered a few more from Sephora yesterday (needed a waterproof one to replace this maybelline). Packaging is fine, price is okay but not worth it for me.

it was very clumpy and made ur lashes look like spider legs instead of smooth, long, and curled. i don't understand why beauty magazines always promote this as such as awesome mascara when it is not. plus, taking it off is defintely a pain... does not come off easily even w/ make-up remover

This is a great mascara, it stays on all day and even after i went swimming it was still there!! That's why i'm so amazed with it's staying power. But it's very painful to get off. Always pulls some lashes off and u need to really scrub and some make up removers don't even work with this mascara. But this mascara stays lengthens thickens and curls ur lashes. Give it a try but remember to buy a good make up remover when you buy this.

This def is waterproof. It never comes off, i have to use makeup remover, not soap. Be careful of Waterproof mascara, if you pull your lashes hard enough it can come out easier. Then if you didnt have mascara on. The bad thing about this is doesnt curl my eyelashes good at all. When i curl my eyelashes and apply this mascara the eyelashes start getting uncurled.
