More like a tinted moisturizer. Not really matte, especially when compared to Revlon's matte makeup. I found an exact match for my skin color (002 Sand), which is unusual. If it had any SPF protection I would use daily as my work makeup.(I don't need to look great at work, just undead.)

I agree with other reviewers that this is absolutely not matte foundation. People with normal to dry skin should really enjoy this. It has mineral oil in it but mineral oil will not clog the pores. The texture is slightly thicker but blends on easily. The coverage is medium and the finish is slightly dewy. This foundation works best on freshly moisturised skin otherwise it will grab onto the flakes you have.
The bad part is that there are not many colour choices. I am a MAC NC 20 and Porclain works for me although it's not yellow enough. For now my favourite foundation is GA LSF but if I become broke I will definitely repurchase this product.

eww.
i really wanted to love this. and actually i did, for the first day. it blended in with my skin nicely, didn't *feel* like i was wearing makeup, yet it covered enough while still being natural. that said, i hate it. after three days of wearing this, i broke out, which i don't tend to do all that often - and even got an acne cyst. sigh. i think it might have been the mineral oil in this. i guess it might work for dry skins that don't have any acne troubles whatsoever, but i have sensitive, combo skin that is prone to acne when provoked. well, this provoked it. :(

I have very oily skin and this foundation only accentuated the grease! No wonder, it contains mineral oil! I do love most other Rimmel products but this is one of the worst to claim "matte" and feel like slime on my face.

I don't know why everyone hates this, I really like it! I applied it to a freshly moisturized face with a sponge. When I first applied it, the color looked off (I bought 102 Nude) but when I blended, it seemed to adjust and melt in. The coverage is pretty good, and it feels nice on my face. I didn't have any of the streaking or wetness or weird feeling that everyone else stated. It's cheap, covers well, and is in a compact tube perfect for traveling that will not break. I will buy this again.

Yuck... I never could get this to go on my face without streaking and feeling too wet. Some people may like the tube, but I always ended up with too much coming out.

To me this felt greasy going on and it left me feeling really oily. It didn't seem to be any kind of matte foundation. I didn't really like it, the color was a pretty good match and for me it seemed like okay coverage but I would not buy it again.

Stay MATTE...not so much. I have ivory combo skin and not only could I NOT find a color that matched, the color I did try turned me into an oilslick on my cheeks and seemed to find every wrinkle in my face (and I'm only 21!!!) I'd be royally ticked if this cost more than the $4 I paid. Not sure it's even worth $2.

Hated it. Simply stated. Packaging was good, and i liked the coverage that it gave, but after an hour my face felt like it was melting off. I was in class and couldn't stand the feel of my face, as soon as i got home i went into the bathroom and washed it off.

I don't wear foundation very often, so I bought this on a whim after deciding that I needed some in the house. While I thought I had a great color match, I guess it's quite a bit off (not yellow enough for me). It's too sheer and doesn't go on very well. Stay Matte is laughable, I was oily again within 5 minutes. It really didn't even out redness... so basically, it didn't do anything it was supposed to. I'm planning on trying something else.

I LOVE this! BUT... it may not be what you think it is. It does NOT provide that much coverage or matte-ness. HOWEVER, i use this more as a tinted moisturizer and it is beautiful. I wear it in NUDE color and it works wonders on my olive/yellow-based skin. I usually wear Mac C-35 or Stila in 40 watts.
So.... i just wear a dab of this to even out my skin tone (and it makes my pores look tiny!) and then i brush a little MAC powder over it.
I love it!
The biggest problem i have with other foundations is that they are too pinkish or beigy. But this is perfect with just the right amount of yellow. worth a try for the price. get two different colors so u can try them out!
Also, it did not break out my sensitive skin, and i did wear moisturizer underneath to help it blend easily.

:( I really regret not checking this product review prior to buying it.To those who gave it high lippies could you please tell me how am I suppose to use this? Here is the problem, when I try to blend this, I ended up wiping this off instead (it balls up and gone ) , I tried to pat it, but it doesn't work either .

I just bought my second tube of this foundation, so I'm obviously pleased with the results of using it. At first, I found it running and didn't like how it glided over my face, but then I quickly saw (within seconds) how it blended in perfectly with my own skin, and did indeed mattify it. The back of the tube boasts highly adjustable coverage, which I'll agree to- I usually apply three layers over my cheeks and dot the concealer over that. I wear my make-up for twelve hours most days, and the foundation goes for most of that, though it claims to last effectively for half that time. Rimmel is cheap and good quality, depending on the product.

I like this foundation! It has become one of my regular foundations that I use now. It took me a while to find it in my shade (Porcelain), but I'm glad I kept looking! This foundation keeps my skin fairly matte and pretty, it's long-lasting and has a nice, faint floral/clean scent.

This has a bit of a yellow tint to it. It doesn't go on very well and it doesn't give me a medium coverage. It is decent for the price, but I don't like it that much.

I thought I's try this- I prefer Loreal Ideal Balance better. I do prefer the Rimmel packaging- you can get all of the product out and don't have to worry about smashing a bottle on your tiles. It gies on smooth for me, blends well, covers well. I can't put my finger on why I don't love it.
It was $19.95AU so it wasn't really that cheap.

This is the DEVIL. I was completely fooled into purchasing it, but it felt like I was spreading mineral oil over my face. And guess what? I was! It's listed on the back as an ingredient. So much for "matte, oil-free coverage."

Yuck!! Made my face feel like I had a layer of grease over it, didn't look so shiny, but felt terrible. Also seemed to accentuate the flaws I was trying to conceal. Got a nearly new tube up for swap if you want it. ;)

this wouldn't really blend in to my skin, and it emphasized any dry areas. no good.
