I'll admit, I went to my MAC counter thinking I can't wait to get the Viva Glam Gaga. I tried it on and it made my lips look so dry, it emphasised the lines and it was bright pink. Not for me. So I decided to try the Viva Glam Cyndi. And... O-M-GOSH. It's STUNNING... so I bought it! I'm NW20 with black hair and brown eyes and coupled with this lipstick... *thumbs up*. It will make any look pop!
VG Cyndi applies really smoothly and moisturises my lips, while at the same time has quite long lasting power. It provides a buildable colour which is something I love and unlike other red lipsticks, this has a coral undertone so it isn't too in your face. While pricey - $35 in Australia, proceeds do go to Charity so I don't feel so bad spending so much =D. This is my first MAC lipstick and I'm definitely not disappointed.

I love it! wore it today :)
i went to my mac hoping to try both the gaga and the Cyndi and ended up buying both! I guess i am about a NW 35 and this actually looks good on me. Most reds look like i have a bloody lip, but not this one! For me, it can be a day time or night time lipstick. Will def be picking up back ups for when this is discontinued!

There isn't much to say about this colour that hasn't already been said. This is definately on the way to becoming my HG Warm Weather red, and will make sure to backup this lipstick before the year is out.
Cyndi is a very pretty, slightly-warmed red. I don't get any real coral tones on my lips; but unlike a lot of warm reds, this does not turn orangey on my medium-heavy pigmented lips. I'm very pale with some ruddiness on my nose, and this (thankfully!) does not make me look like Rudolph. I am neutral-cool toned; an N3 in Studio Fix PPF (best MAC foundation match for me), can pull off Sculpt's NW15, MUFEHD#110, though BB's Alabaster is probably the best shade description for my skin; and this doesn't look garish on me.
When the MA asked me 'Not Cyndi as well?' when I went to pick up GaGa the week before, I shook my head. But after deliberating, and swatching, I picked it up. It's a very wearable red for everyday, though I have been blotting it a tad. GaGa takes a lot less effort to work on me... (GaGa and BE Katie l/g and I'm out the door), but Cyndi looks pretty darn good too.
Matches very nicely with drug store line Annabelle's lip liner in Cherry, with Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker by Bonne Bell as a base; maybe 'cools' down the lipstick enough to not look like wax lips on me; I don't know. Also pairs really nicely with a touch or bronzer and NARS' Cactus Flower creme blush.
4 stars; don't love it as much as GaGa, but a definate contender for HG Red Lipstick status.

Current favourite lipstick. Non-drying. Universally flattering. Goes to a good cause. Pigmented for a lustre. Wearable coral/red. What more to say, I love it. Definitely repurchasing before the 12 month limit is over :)

I really wanted to like this but, like so many other MAC lipsticks, this just goes on garish. On my NC35-37 skintone, I can usually pull off bright corally pinks - this looks unnatural, like it doesn't belong on my face. The texture is not bad, but it just doesn't feel like mid-high end. I get better coverage from my Revlon lipsticks. This goes on a little cakey and emphasizes all my dryness - reminds me of something my granny would wear but she only pays $1 for her lipstick.

Love at first swipe! I cannot believe this has already become my hg red l/s. I can NEVER pull off reds or corals but this works beautifully on my fair yellow toned asian skin.. its very pigmented, moisturizing, and can be used as an everday red lippie. It brightens up my whole face and it looks awesome with my brunette hair. I feel seriously as beautiful as nicole kidman wearing this. I don't even feel guilty about the price because it goes to a great cause. I will buy more backups..something I rarely do! Love this SO much better than the gaga lipstick and I'm more of a natural pink lip girl

Love this lipstick! It is a reddish coral, very vibrant (but photographs more muted) on me, and brightens my complexion overall. I thought it would be more strawberry pink, but turns out to be more strongly coral on me. The texture is pretty good, maybe a tad drying, but staying power is quite impressive! This lasted through a meal, though I did touch up a little on the insides. I love that all proceeds go to the AIDS foundation too. This will probably last me forever, so won't repurchase.

I got this color practically because the sales woman threw it in with all my damn purchases without me knowing it until after I had paid for it and went through my store bag. She had tried it on me inside the store and was amazed at how good it looked on me with my skintone (NC20). I had mentioned to her that I wasnt sure if I wanted it because I'm more of a bright dark red lipstick kinda gal. This lipstick in comparison to my darker red lipsticks is way more sheer but very pigmented in the color range of a berry fushia. It looks more like a colored lipgloss than a lipstick. Well when I did get home and relized how she had snuck me the Cyndi Viva to purchase, I'm glad she did because when I put it on it looked really good:) My lips are already very pigmented and reddish so in the sun the color looks more coral but indoors its more of a fushia red. It makes my lips look pouty and fuller. Really do recommend for anyone who wants to try a red shade of lipstick who is afraid of picking one, you cant go wrong with this one.

This is the 2nd red lipstick I own since I don't normally wear reds. I bought Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon around Halloween but it's not an everyday color for me. I wanted a sheer red that I could wear & not feel like I look over the top. Viva Glam Cyndi is just that, a sheer wash of red on my lips. This lipstick is actually kind of unique in that it looks different in different lighting. Indoors it looks almost like a fuschia/berry color. Outside it's a slight red and in pictures it looks like an opaque orange red. Amazing, haha! I do have pigmented lips so I do have to layer it a couple of times to get it show, While I think Dragon is a sexy color, I probably will only wear it on very special occasions since it's out of my comfort zone. Cyndi on the other hand is a lot more wearable.

Gaga looks horrid on me...but Cyndi is a completely different story! I have always loved a red lip...this is not any different as far as my adoration. What is different is that this has a very noticeable 'coral' hue to the reddish pigment. Which I surprisingly like a lot! Who knew?! I also bought the little Cyndi Bag... :)

I am not someone to wear red lipsticks and never have been, In my hunt to find a red lipstick that worked for me I found viva glam cyndi, this lipstick color is perfect, especially for someone like me who feared red lips. It is a great, not too harsh reddish coral color, I have fair skin and this suits me very well. I would definitely repurchase!

I LOVE this lipstick!
I originally went to the mac counter looking to buy Gaga, but I tried it on and it looked terrible on me. I was so disappointed, but my lovely MAC lady had me try on Cyndi's, insisting that it would be gorgeous on my pale-ish skin.
Well, she was correct. It's just the right reddish coral color to warm up my skin tone, without making me look like a cheap hooker in the process. (which is about every other red lipstick! lol)
I have a feeling this will be my go-to summer lip color. :)

Adore Viva Glam Cyndi! I originally went in to purchase Viva Glam Gaga, but this shade caught my eye and worked so much better for me! It turns very dark pink on me as I have strong pink pigmented lips. I pair this with a lipgloss that has gold flecks in it...perfect for the upcoming season!!

Ahh this is my first lipstick from mac because I love Cyndi. The colour of this is gorgeous. It feels wonderful on the lips and has great pigmentation. The packaging was the main seller for me because of the signature. I love it for sure :)

Viva Glam Gaga was really not my color at all. After trying on that one and not liking it, the MAC MUA suggested trying Viva Glam Cyndi. So glad I did! This is not just another red lipstick. It's like a berry/coral red. So pretty! If red is usually too harsh on you, I suggest trying this!
I might even buy a back-up of this (something I've never ever done before w/ any product).

I bought this and Gaga on a total whim, I figured "why not" since the money goes to AIDS research. (Otherwise I would not pay that much for a LS.) I really love the red tone, its not too OTT to wear for day. It stays put and has a pleasant smell and texture. For me i have been looking for a good red that doesnt make me look like snow white, and Cyndi did it. Fabulous product. Gaga looks pretty layered over Cyndi as well.

Now THIS is the red I've been searching for! All other red lipsticks I've tried have made me look a little ill. This works perfectly with my skin tone. I first apply it with my finger to get a stain, then apply a little from the tube and blend it in well. Makes the perfect rosy, natural lip. And of course, I love MAC's sleek packaging and the yummy vanilla scent. Very impressed with this.

I really am liking this product! The color is a very wearable pinkish-coralish-reddish tone, and I feel I can wear it out without looking ridiculous. I love the lustre finish, especially because you can layer this product and get both a sheer look or layer it to get a really pigmented look. I like that every penny made from the Viva Glam line goes to aids, and this is a great addition to the collection! I will buy backups of this and continue to love it!
