Ive been on a mascara kick lately, trying all diff.ones.I asked for this for christmas, and got it.This is a pretty generic mascara.Nothing spectacular about it,I prefer ysl faux cils, zoomlash, and supernova to this.

Let me start off by stating, this mascara is not something you should reach for in the morning or if you are an on-the-go kind of person. This mascara demands attention and precision when applied. When applied correctly and carefully, holy mother it looks FANTASTIC. Fanned lashed, deep sultry eyes, gorgeous all over.
I use this mascara in conjuction with the Make Up For Ever "Lash Fibers" (or whatever its called really) and it give my lashes a very long and curled look. I dont know what my lashes would look like if I didnt use the mascara base though... I'm very paranoid about damaging my lashes so I always protect them with my MUFE base.
And you won't get a night-club look unless you really want it. I was in a rush today and I didnt want a heavy eye or too dramatic so I used a quick swipe of my Dior Iconic mascara and stood dumbfounded in the mirror for a moment - i couldnt believe how stickly-short my lashes were without my MUFE. It was actually terrible so I fixed it with one careful coat of mufe.
- use a lash comb, it realllly makes a difference
- go carefully, try to coat every lash, especially the small lashes closest to your tearducts.. it looks weird otherwise

This mascara flakes a lot.

I know make-up is like everything else. Some people love a product, other people...not so much. It's all about what works for you. I have to say that I love, love, love this mascara. I really love the dark, black pigment. I have black eyelashes anyway, so I need the extra darkness. Second, I love how it makes my lashes look huge. One coat, and my lashes are visibly lengthened and thickened. I will admit that it took me a time or two to perfect my application technique, but after that I was on my way. If you are looking for a BAM mascara, I would suggest just trying it. You may love it like me.

This mascara does have a great inky black color and a nice package. Everything else stinks. It's clumpy, hard to apply, and smears like crazy. It pulls out curl, flakes, and does not last. One coat = no mascara. Two coats = spidery mess. Going back to Sephora.
This mascara is inferior in every way to drugstore mascaras that cost one fourth of its price. Go get Lash Stiletto by Maybelline instead.

I really tried to find positive things about this mascara but I just couldn't find them. Firstly, the formula is very thick and feels heavy on the lashes which tends to weigh them down. I also found that the brush applies it unevenly and it quite awkward to handle. I have to go over my lashes several times to get the formula on evenly and before I know it, my lashes are caked in this gloop and I look like Lisa Simpson, with only 3 thick lashes. Another negative aspect is that it flakes like it's nobody's business. Not even a few hours later my cheeks are a spotty mess! I've honestly used drug store mascara far superior to this. Definitely skip out on this one and save your money!

I really do like this mascara despite giving it only a 3 rating. It has a really really nice really really black color which i LOVE. and it gives really great volume, which is the most important thing i look for in a mascara. HOWEVER i don't like how clumpy it can be. this is the same problem i had with the Dior Blackout mascara. but with a little patience and time it is possible to make this mascara live up to its potential. Just make sure you wipe of the excess mascara on the wand, that helps a ton. I also use my chanel inmitalbe mascara before and after this mascara to get rid of clumps and its a best of both worlds situation: amazing volume and dark color along with great separation and length.

This is one of my favorite mascara. This is better than Dior Iconic! It provides great pigment, volume, length and held a curl. I used it with my shiseido mascara base and have been asked if I am wearing false lashes.

I got sucked into a demo of this mascara on HSN one morning. The before and after was truly impressive and shipping was cheap, so I decided to give it a try. I checked the MUA reviews and it seemed like I couldn't go wrong. After having to wait over a week for delivery (probably should have ordered right from Sephora), I was really disappointed by the results. The color is quite dark, which I like (my lashes are so light I get them tinted), but it gave me spiky, spidery lashes. Even my husband agreed that my lashes looked weird. I prefer not to have to fight with an eyelash comb after application, so it's just too much work for me. I'm returning to HSN.

THIS MIGHT BE THE BEST MASCARA OF ALL TIME!!!!
Better than Lancome, better than ANYTHING else I've tried! I got this in the Sephora Lash Stash. After trying all them, I think its the best. Great volume, seperation, length and curl, NO Flakiness, goopiness, smudging. I will be repurchasing forever!!!
Age: 30-35 Skin: Combination Hair: Brunette Eyes: Green
Wow - this stuff was horrible! I got it in Sephora's Lash Stash sampler. I tried it about 7-8 times since it has such good reviews, but every time I came out looking like Tammy Faye. This was the clumpiest mascara I have ever used! Sure, it adds volume, but not in a good way. Cakey and gross! I finally threw it away.

********* EDIT *********
This is a GREAT mascara. For those that think this is clumpy (YES, it can get a little clumpy because it adds volume!), USE A METAL LASH COMB! The results are spectacular! If you don't have one, GET ONE. You will not be disappointed! I got mine Sephora metal lash comb for $10. It's worth it's weight in gold! (Takes all of 10 seconds to comb out the excess!
I think I have tried every mascara out there lately. The last two that I liked was Chanel Exceptionnel and Estee Lauder Sumptuous. Both were nice, the Chanel was pretty good, it stayed on nicely, but I really needed more volume. And the Chanel was hard to remove, and I didn't love the brush. I need a firm brush, and the new modern rubbery brushes are hard for me to use without either poking my eye out (I'm a clutz) or getting it all over my eyelids. The EL Sumptuous was decent, for an everyday mascara, but I needed more volume - I liked it but was not wowed, not dramatic enough for me. So, enter Smoky Lash. This stuff ROCKS. Great length, great volume. No flakes. No smudges. Stays on, and on, and on. Like, through the night, and into the next day. But, it's easy to remove with eye makeup remover, no need to scrub, no tearing out your eyelashes while trying to get this stuff off. Nice firm brush, not too big, not too small. Dark, sooty black color. Layers well. The only thing is, it does tend to clump a little upon applying, BUT, it does this because it volumizes. So I use a metal eyelash comb and it combs out beautifully! It only takes a few seconds. Thick, flirty, long, lush lashes, fanned out just like I always wanted! This is it! HG mascara for me. I have finally ended the eternal search. This one takes the cake.

This is a rich black formula that provides great length and volume and doesn't contain parabens! My only problem with it is that it flakes like mad! there are tons of little black flakes under my eyes by the end of the day, sadly.

LOVE IT! The best mascara for length and volume. Nice black color too! I'll be purchasing this again.

Got the mini size of this in my Sephora Lash Stash. This mascara is awesome- my lashes hold a curl and it makes them fuller and longer. I use my MAC 205 mascara fan brush to remove the very slight clumpage after one or two coats and I am good to go. Havent had any flaking or smudging and it lasts all day. Very impressed and if I ever use up all my other good mascaras this could be a repurchase!

Non waterproof, doesn't flake, actually CURLS the lash hair and keep them up all day, moderate on lengthening, EXTREME volume if applied correctly, and does not smudge. I Love this mascara so far the best I've tried of all mascaras in Sephora or anywhere else!!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair-Medium, Neutral Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Hazel
This could very well be an HG mascara. I'm surprised the rating isn't better on this product. I recieve a sample tube of this product with the Sephora Lash Stash. Honestly this has been the only tube that I've been using. It lenghtens my lashes, adds tons of volume and holds a curl from my beloved Tarte e/l curler. Also I love how black this mascara is~the blacker the better imo. I worked my p/t job wearing this mascara (I'm a server!) and I had no smudgies, flakies or raccoon eyes like I usually do. I tested this mascara with my Shiseido the mascara base and I was asked several times if I was wearing fake lashes. I plan to purchase this in the full size. I will report back if anything changes.

I have tried them all (high end, low end, you name it!) and I can honestly say that I LOVE this mascara. It makes my lashes look much longer and almost "feathery". It does volumize, but maybe not as some would like? Personally, I think a mascara that gives too much volume looks un-natural (how thick could each lash naturally be, anyway?), but not in a good, fake-eyelash way.
Although other mascaras may give similar length, what REALLY gives this mascara a bump up is how light-weight and soft it leaves my eyelashes! Until now, I had resigned myself to some crunchiness for big dramatic lashes (Dior Show, Lash Blast, etc.). This leaves my lashes fluttery and beautiful to the eyes AND to the touch- WITHOUT smudging like "conditioning" mascaras (Fresh, Lancome, etc) tend to do on me!
What a lovely mascara!

What am I doing wrong? I was so excited to try this after reading all of the great reviews. It sounds exactly like what I'm looking for.
Sadly though, I have used it 4 times & I haven't been thrilled yet. Sometimes it has been clumpy & other times it just gives color but not length or volume. I've tried multiple coats applied at different intervals. Any suggestions?

This mascara is awesome! It gives me long, lush, thick lashes in just one coat! It lasts all day, and never flakes! I definitely would repurchase.
