Like others have said, this is the best product in the 3 step line. You do not need to use the other products with this for it to work. I use it alone just once a day or when I have some flare ups and it works great for keeping acne away. Does not dry my skin out or irritate it, but I do use an oil free moisturizer over it after it dries.

Terrible. My skin is worse after using. These products contain chemicals that irritate acne prone skin. Methylparaben to name one.

The first week this stuff worked fine, but now my face is more broken out than before I started using. This product contains quite a few chemicals that are known to irritate acne prone skin. I just wish I knew that before buying.

I love the repairing lotion. It seems to keep my breakouts at bay, and it's gentle enough that it doesn't dry my skin out. The only thing I dislike about it is the packaging. It's white plastic, so you can't see the product when it is running low. It's a little expensive to just buy the bottle alone around $24.95, but it has really made my skin happy and very close too breakout free. I'm still in search for the ultimate acne fighter, but this one is working very well for me. I'm on my third bottle.
Update: I've been using Proactive Repairing Lotion with Neutrogena's Pore Refining Cleanser and Aveeno Positively Smooth Moisturizer morning and night for just over a month with no breakouts! This combo has been working really really well! I've been sneaking in some Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance when my skin needs extra moisture, and that works too. I'm sticking with this for now. It's working wonderfully!

My mother-in-law sends me her "extras" from the kit. My skin is already nice, but this just makes it nicer. I'm always a little afraid to stray too far from the repairing lotion--although i have to put eye cream on too because this stuff fights zits, not wrinkles.

I tried the whole three step system, but I didn't see enough results to justify the costs, but I have continued using the Repairing lotion and it works very well. Controls my spots without being overly drying, has an inoffensive smell and absorbs into my skin well.

I'm writing because i too, have tried all the proactiv stuff. i too, have found this reparing gel to be the most effective (i don't think the other too help anything) and i was using this repairing lotion to keep my skin free of acne until i found another BETTER 2.5% benzyol peroxide gel. it's called BP Gel from The Regimen. it's more than twice the size and a quater of the cost. smoother, fragrence free, and MORE effective. i'd say switch to this.

Ive used the 3 step system and i thought it was working and it cleared up my skin somewhat but it didnt last long. dissapointing cuz it seemed like it should work and give me really clear skin. but anyways so i went to a dermatologist and they have better stuff. but i must give snaps to the reparing lotion becuase it doesnt dry out my skin like every other treatment and smells great. so when im getting ready for a night out or something and i need to wash my face i use this stuff afterwards to make sure that i still have some zit fighting power under my makeup with out having to reapply my expensive, stong stuff from the derm.

As far as benzoyl peroxide creams go, this one is outstanding. You can use this alone, without the 3-step treatment, because the 3-step treatment is useless-- DO NOT BELIEVE THE INFOMERICALS. The cleanser and toner feel great on, but are overpriced and don't do a thing to help your acne. It's the Repairing Lotion that does everything. You can easily use a dirt-cheap, gentle cleanser like Cetaphil, then the Proactiv Repairing Lotion, then a good moisturizer like Eucerin Skin Renewal, morning and night, and you will be acne-free. However, I must say, this product is laughingly expensive. Even if you buy it off eBay for $10, you're still paying too much for only 2 ounces of lotion. I did the switch to The Regimen BP Gel, only available at acnesupplies.com, and I've been thankful ever since. I am in no way affiliated with the sales of this product-- it's just a really good benzoyl peroxide and it deserves to outshine the over-priced Proactiv! If you don't mind spending the money, though, Proactiv Repairing lotion is just fine. Just remember, as with any benzoyl peroxide, make sure to cover your eyebrows when applying or you'll dye them orange.

Not the most beautiful package...but the product works wonders!!! I have been fighting acne for 10 years, and after using this for a week...my face cleared up and has been clear ever since! I use the lotion at night and that's it. I LOVE IT!

This works for my acne-prone skin. I've tried to stop using it and the acne comes back everytime. I don't think it's necessary to do the entire 3-step program that ProActiv recommends. I only use the repairing lotion once a day, under my foundation primer and foundation. I might use it at nights if my skin is particularly broken out. In the shower, I'll use the ProActiv cleanser. I usually don't bother with the ProActiv toner. Try this product - it just might work! Since this product works on my skin, I think the price is very reasonable.

should i say this is expensive, at S$ 29.90 for a 60ml size which will spill if u squeezed too much.
however, this works immediately on my pimples/ acne. u can feel the biting effect on the spots. the next morning, all the zits were cleared up as well. u actually can see them subsided/ gone.
but, i can't used this everynight. it actually dries up my face quite badly leaving the affected area v.dry. will still continued to use this tho, just moderately...

I had the whole proactiv system and used it diligently for awhile...but my skin was too sensitive and it all dried me up and caused more breakouts. This stuff burned and caused irritation and redness and again dried me out. Might be okay for just spot treatment, because its just Benzoyl peroxide-but if you have sensitive skin don't put it on your whole face!

This is the only thing worth buying out of the 3-step system (which I of course have tried).. this is the only thing that keeps my skin in check.. I still get small breakouts on my cheeks once in a while but they aren't as horrible as before I started using this..

This is a SUPER 2.5% BP product. A bit expensive for what you get (so I am taking off 1 lippie), but I love the texture, scent, and the fact that it doesn't dry out my skin. By far, the BEST part of the ProActiv 3-step system.

This is the one product in the kit that I find is very effective. Benzoyl peroxide is used to PREVENT blemishes and this does just that. It's a 2.5% BP lotion. I apply the lotion on my acne-prone jaw line every morning and night. What I absolutely love about this lotion is that it DOES NOT dry me out. I've tried Clean & Clear 5% BP and it was too harsh to apply over the entire area. With Pro Activ's repairing lotion, I religiously apply it and I have dramatically fewer jawline breakouts than before. The lotion itself is nice, light, absorbs well and smells good.

I used to use the entire line for almost a year, but found it didn't seem to be effective over time. Since then, my face has gone through crazy changes during/after pregnancy (it actually cleared up!), but I'm now back to my 'occasional' breakout. I use this at night after cleansing with Purpose and toning with Thayer's Rose Petal Toner (also AWESOME). During the day I use a bit of moisturizer but no Proactiv. My skin looks great, without being too dry or too greasy. Perfect.

I'm going to put a review for the entire kit (Cleanser, Toner and Lotion) in this review.
I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin and originally bought this for my husband. It worked well enough on him so I thought to try it on myself even though it's benzoyl peroxide (everytime in the past that I've tried Clearasil, I burn my skin). It was too much. So what I did was slowly incorporate it into my routine. My skin's accepted it and I practically never break out now (except for those moments of weakness when I see a new skincare product that I decide I absolutely must try that to see if it's better, and it never is). I use Mario Badescu's Enzyme Cleansing Gel in the morning but everything else in the morning and at night and it's great. My one caveat (besides the price, but if something really works, I don't know if I can really complain about the price) is the quality of the bottles. My husband's bottle cracked open so now he can't squeeze it to get the product out; everytime he squeezes it it just cracks more. If the bottle had been more full we would have had a mess on our hands because the lotion would have come out of the cracks. Hopefully it's just a defective bottle because otherwise, I love Pro Activ.

I've been using this Repairing Lotion for a while now. I always use it in the pm and I put it on my face like a mask and then let it soak in. At first when I started with ProActiv I used a thin layer on my skin and it didn't really do anything. One day I read some advice from other people with acne and this guy said that you should put a THICK layer of this on your face. Guess what? It worked. This is the only product of their line I use.

I have battled acne all my life since I was about 12 (I am now 29). After watching the very convincing commercials, I decided I had nothing to lose and ordered Pro Activ, despite the expensive price tag. I ended up using it for a month or so and couldn't stand it anymore, so I sold mine on ebay. It is very irritating for my skin and eyes and the smell was horrendous... It also bleached my towels AND my clothes, and I have never had a BP product do that to such an extent before. The toner was okay, and the repairing lotion, though smelly and staining, was also not bad. The cleanser, however, is just awful. It's gritty, it doesn't lather at all, and it just runs down your face...so much went to waste. This is definitely not the miracle product that I hoped it would be. To make matters worse, when you purchase this product, Pro Activ automatically signs you up and keeps sending you more month after month. I didn't want any more of the product, and they kept sending it anyway (even though I didn't want it). When I sent it back, they sent me invoices and even threatened to report me to a credit bureau. BUYER BEWARE. In my opinion, acne suffers are much better off using Cetaphyl and a nice light moisturizer...that has helped my skin much more than harsh products like Pro Activ...and my new towels are thanking me for it, too!
