I tried this line first in France, with their rinse-out conditioner that belonged to my sister-in-law. It immediately smoothed my thin, straight color -treated hair to pure silk! When I heard of this leave-in conditioner, I bought it when I found it. It didn't disappoint me at all. I only use a dime to nickel sized drop and smooth it over ends to roots. I blow dry my hair everyday with a round brush and my hair feels super silky, lusterous, and shiny! I can't stop touching it. It cost $28 on the site I bought it on (forgot the name) not including shipping. Will definitely repurchase, and that's rare for me to be so enthusiastic over a hair-care product! I also got their volumizing spray and have only tried it a couple of times (since my hair is trapped in a hat all the time at work).

This is good but not phenomenal. Did it make my hair smoother? Yes. Shinier? Just barely. Thicker? Nope. Call me paranoid but I think it might even have thinned it a bit. Maybe it's cos of the 'increased smoothness' which makes it feel like it thinned.
But to be fair, my hair was already in pretty good condition to begin with and maybe that's why I didn't see any 'phenomenal' effects. The above is nothing a good conditioner can't do, and it's pretty damn expensive for what it is. The thing I like most about it is the smell. OH-MY-GOD!!! This is the most delicious, freshest lemoney smell you would want in your bathroom. I will never forget catching a whiff of it as soon as I opened the box. Too bad it doesn't stay on your hair!!
Will I buy again? I'm on the fence about this one. On one hand, it didn't blow me away, but on another I have a feeling I would want to try this out again in case my hair becomes damaged in some way. I will definitely finish the bottle I have right now just to see if the effects will build up. Maybe I'll give the other products in the line a try.
edit: Ok I've changed my mind. No conditioner as given me these effects yet, this is a lifesaver in winter, but I'm not changing the rating, cos the effects only last through one wash, and it's too damn expensive to use after every wash!!

This is definitely the best styling product I have ever used. I have very fine, thin hair, and on top of that I have recently changed my hair color from jet-black to blonde AND have had it cut into a fairly severe bob that requires flat ironing on a daily basis. My stylist recommended CT to recondition my hair after it was bleached and it is amazing. It has completely transformed my extremely dry and over-processed hair. I would recommend this product to anyone; however, I do agree with some of the earlier reviews that more than a walnut sized amount may be necessary if you have thicker, coarser hair. I know it is expensive, but it really is worth every penny!
Update: I wanted to add an update on this product almost a year and a half later. I still LOVE it, and it is truly my HG hair product. I have changed my shampoo, conditioner and styling product over the last year and a half, but the ciment thermique has remained a constant. My hair looks 100% better when I use it. As a daily flat-iron user it has saved my hair and made it look healthy and shiny again--even after several changes in color. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is expensive but so worth it!! Only used it for the first time last night on my dry, thick hair and love it!! Trying to grow out my hair and had noticed breakage. Not a fan of Kerastase but persuaded by the reviews I thought I'd try it!! Following shampooing and conditioning I applied a walnut sized amount to my hair and massaged into the dry areas especially. Blasted hair with hairdryer then straightened with GHDs. My hair is so much softer and sleeker. I hope I can update in a few weeks and report that it feels stronger with less breakage.

I used this product for the 1st time yesterday. It left my hair feeling quite sticky, coated. I did use a treatment for the 1st time too, so that may be the problem. i was told at the salon it lasts up to 5 day's so u don't need to apply every time you wash. however, this is not on the website. they may be told to tell us this as you don't get much for the price which may put customers off, and this is their way of making the product seem a bargain!!!!
i don't like the fact that after i wash my hair again i don't need to use the product, I feel i'm ironing my hair with no protection (that scares me) but i've been told i don't need to use it every time i wash my locks...
I think i prefer redken heat glide as i can use it every time on wet and dry hair so b4 i blowdry ( it doesn't say you can use this product on dry hair befre you iron), and before i straighten, it also doesn't leave a coated, sticky feeling on my hair.
i'll update in a few day's

My stylist used this at my last haircut & the smell is exactly like Origin's d/c Gloomaway - the most wonderful grapefruit smell in the world! My hair is shoulder-length, super straight, thin, fine, with ends that become dry and wispy (pretty!). After washing & towel-drying, I apply ~a tablespoon of this (you do need to use a lot for it to work well), so keep in mind that I don't have much hair, so if you do, you'll need to use more. I massage it into the ends & up about 3 inches from there. Then I blowdry using low fan speed but HIGH heat, in order to activate the formula. (Heat makes it work.) It clearly builds up your hair from the inside out because it doesn't leave any residue on the hair, yet the hair becomes stronger, shinier, softer, swingier. There is no question about it - they can charge what they do for this product because it is worth it.

Buying this product is probably the best investment I've ever made as far as my hair is concerned. I have fine, dry, frizzy, bleach damaged hair (sounds great, right?), and nothing else has come close to the improvement I've seen with Ciment Thermique. I have actually had compliments on how healthy my hair now looks! That in itself is a small miracle. But if I say so myself, my hair is now shiny, swingy and yes - it really looks healthy!
It's true that the more often you use it the more improvement you'll see. I also have found that you do need to use a generous amount of product to get really good results. After towel drying my hair, I always put this on first and usually follow with a thickening product such as a mousse or gel, then blow dry and flat iron. I absolutely love that this treatment is activated by the heat of the flat iron.
I will buy this again and again and again! HG for me, and that is saying a lot - I've tried everything from very high end to dirt cheap. Give it a try! :)

The one of the best Kerastase products! It protects from heat and makes hair very shiny, healthy, repairs hair from inside. Lasts a long period. The scent is very clean. Just amazing product!

I have been using this product in conjunction with Joico's K-Pak since July of 2007, and all I can say is wow. My hair is thick & will take a lot of abuse, but eventually the ends give out. I used to brush my hair, and the blanket of ends covering the sink made it look like I had cut my hair. It does this because I color it and use heat styling. These days I still have ends lying on the sink, but only 2 or 3-- not hundreds. I let the K-Pak do its thing while I enjoy a good long soak in the tub. After rinsing, I like to let my hair air-dry. Then, one section at a time, I work in the Ciment Thermique and straighten with a Chi flat iron. This process is not short since I have so much hair. I also put it on the entire length of the hair, not just the ends, so I use a lot more product than the average person would. Along with much stronger ends, my hair is much smoother & shinier. I would like a little more shine-- I probably won't be satisfied until it gleams like silk-- but I am very happy with the strength. If it all breaks off, there won't be anything to be shiny anyway. When I had my hair colored last week, my stylist only had to take a few split ends off, rather than the half inch all around that she bugs me to let her do every couple of visits. I have never been able to grow my hair beyond my bra strap because of the breakage, but I am very close to meeting the strap right now & I think I will pass it-- and be able to keep coloring & flat-ironing to boot. I never expected results like this; after all, hair is dead & there is only so much you can do to it. I'd like to subtract a star for availability, but won't because it works so well for me. I had to get this from overseas on ebay, since the Kerastase website is absurdly expensive and there does not seem to be another source anywhere in the US. I have 3 tubes, so all I have to do is keep an eye on the supply and make sure I buy more when I start running low. Still, it would be nice to be able to run to the salon and get it if I were in a pinch. Overall this product is exceptional & worth a try for those with breakage & split ends who blow-dry, and/or use a hot iron on their hair.

My hairdresser is always telling me I should purchase Ciment Thermique, but I never really paid much attention. Then one day I walked past a store that sold Kerastase, so I thought I might as well buy some. I used some last night and I was absolutely amazed- it makes my hair feel as good as going to the hairdresser! It is just so soft and silky, with no frizz or puffiness. I will keep using it forever!

All I can say is WOW! This broke me of my addiction to Bumble and bumble's Prep. This smoothed and softened my thin, fine and formerly damaged hair. Definite repurchase!!

WOW! I have fine, poker straight, coloured hair that I wash & blow dry daily. I pride myself on its condition but recently the regular abuse with dryers and colourants were starting to take their toll and my hair looked dry and lacklustre. When I mentioned this to my stylist she recommended CT and used it to style my hair. I was really impressed with the way it made my hair feel - soft and shiney (without weighing it down) and incredibly thicker and stronger. Of course I had to have a tube and almost choked when I had to pay £16 for it! But its definately worth it. I use a walnut size amount which I massage through the mid length to the ends of my hair then apply my usual styling mousse and dry. The product has a gel/creme like texture with a beautiful fragrance that doesn't over power. Its not at all sticky and spreads easily through the hair. I've even taking to using it on my daughters fine hair and find it not only works as a brilliant de-tangler but leaves her hair beautifully shiney and smooth even after a nights sleep (when usually she wakes up with a 'birds nest' on her head!) I don't know why its taken me so long to try CT - I wouldn't like to be without it now and I'll definately repurchase - even at that price!

I truly fit the category of woman without much time, when it comes down to hair. I do makeup and style hair on set, and my own beauty comes in last...
This product is making styling much easier. I have colored, highlighted and gray hair that's damaged. It's sort of straight and sort of wavy, and turns into a puff ball when it hits humidity. Air-drying is out, for the most part.
This styling milk works with or without heat, but much better with it. And I can get my hair very silky without a flat iron, just using a blow dryer and round brush. I actually skip a step by using a Rusk Hot Air 2"in Styling brush when my hair is mostly dry. Add a touch of shine serum on the ends and I am done!
Expensive, yes. Worth it, absolutely!

After reading the reviews in Allure a few issues back I could not wait to try this! I have fine, wavy, dry, below-shoulder-length hair that I blow dry and flat-iron almost daily. The first time I tried this I used a small amount since straightening products weigh my hair down - I was disappointed because my ends looked very dry. I tossed it aside and went back to my Lait Nutri-Sculpt, but it drove me crazy that I paid $37 for this and I couldn't use it so I gave it another try. This time I used the size of a large grape, made sure I got plenty on my ends, blow-dried and flat ironed. WOW! My hair looks so much healthier than usual, no little broken fly-aways all over and my ends actually swing on good days! It also seems to have a cumulative effect, hair seems to continually improve and actually feels thicker when I wash it. I use this with either Kerastatse Bain Satin 1 or Fekkai Shea Butter Shampoo and Fekkai Shea Butter Conditioner and a spritz of TiGi Queen for a Day Thickening Spray at the roots - great combo!

I have long, colored, high-lighted, VERY THICK, wavy hair that's extremely dry and damaged due to the color & heat damage. My stylist recommended this to me because my hair has felt incredibly dry lately. I have tried every straightening balm on the market and they do nothing. The best I can hope for from a product is something to protect it from damage and make it feel soft (the straightening iron does the straightening). This is definitely it. I wrap my wet hair in a super-absorbent towel (Aquis) for 15 minutes then put this on, blow-dry, and straighten. Works like magic. I use the Redken All-Soft Heavy Cream conditioner in the shower and together with this, my hair is softer than it's ever been.

My hairdresser tried this out on me a little while ago because she knows I blow out and flat iron my hair either every other day, or once every two days. The smell is wonderful...
I have coarse, wavy, very very thick hair and I got my hair chopped off short...so there is no way I can "go natural." I must blow out and flat iron my hair. This product really works to keep my hair straight and in-control. Helps to control the frizzies as well. I've gotten numerous compliments on my hair. I would also recommend using a finishing serum or shine product after to finish off the look!
I will repurchase again...although the product is expensive!
But like the other poster said, what Kerastase product isn't?

This is a true and fantastic product. After distributing just a little bit more than a walnut sized amount into my hands I smoothed my ends first then distributed the rest of the product throughout my curly hair.
You blow dry the hair a bit to remove the moisture out and then start blow drying your hair straight. What it does is not create frizz and after you have finished your hair with the blow dryer, go over it with your iron as you will really notice how this product works. It seems to love the heat. I hope in time this product aims to improve the hair, making it stronger with less breakage. i love this product, it's definately a winner.

Ok so first off, the smell of this is sooooo yummy! Even if I didnt like how it works I think I would still want to use it because of the smell. But the product itself is really good, It makes my hair really soft and being a religious blow dryer and flat ironer, I need this to save my hair

EDIT 28th November 2007: Just over one month on after using this product 3 to 4 times a week, my hair has gotten so much better, and the dryness in the ends of my hair is gone, I have needed to cut it maybe three weeks ago and kept putting it off, and I just realised my ends are beautiful again!I really wanted to try this because i straighten my hair everyday or every second day and the product i used to protect it wasn't working at all. i dye my hair platinum blonde and as a result of the dying and daily use of my ghd my ends were very weak and had alot of split ends. I have to say that it really did soften and smooth my ends and the general length of hair very well. I found that i noticed the diffrence only after my third try though. Its also best to use it as recommended, as in after applying it to wet hair slightly blow dry your hair and then you can let it dry naturally or finish blow drying it before straightening. It tames frizzy hair pretty well and holds for about two to three days if i dont wash my hair. It is quite pricey, but there isnt really another product that actually allows you to straighten and treat your hair simultaneously so if you think about its worth the investment for much healthier hair if you use your straightening iron daily.

Don't walk, run to get this.I have very long wavy, but very difficult to straighten, frizzy and puffy hair. I was never able before to straighten my hair on my own with a flat iron and it would take me 3 hours to blow dry them straight. I used this yesterday and it only took me an hour! and my hair was like I stepped out of a hairdressers!soft, shiny and straight!no crispiness, no puffiness! If you straighten your hair, blow dry or flat iron, again run, run to get this.Never without this again.Amazing! Can 't rave enough!
