I bought this today, I really like it alot! its a thinner a texture then the daily lip treatment one. It has a menthol smell to it, but it makes it feel super nice on your lips. and the smell goes away quickly, and I dont taste it at all. It lasts alot longer then usual. And my lips feel so much smoother!

I have the worst lips, and nothing helped. No neutrogena, no burts, no benefit, no kiehls. High end and low end. Some temporarily coated my lips and made them shiny but after a couple of hours it went back to crackdom. Some left disgusting white sticky residue. This is the only balm that heals my lips, and I mean heal. After a few days of use, I have the smoothest lips one could have. Dirt cheap too. The only thing is the smell. It stinks like Vicks, but you can always use it when you are alone because you do not have to apply it 1000 times a day like other balms. I also wish it came in a tube form, because I don't find pots sanitary. But with that smell, no germ would like to live in this.

As a lip balm junkie, I can declare that after trying the most expensive lip balms on the market, Medex is by far the best. If you have chapped lips, Medex will fix it in only a little amount of time. I use this even when my lips aren't chapped, and I'm completely addicted to it. It also stays on for a while, so there is no need to reapply. These little tubs also last ages. A great and effective buy!

Oh man, when your lips are dry and scaly- this stuff is like crack... ;) you can't get enough of it. It's so soothing and rich-- that and the price makes it one of my HGs (the blistex DCT is my other HG).

Amazing stuff.. I bought this to use on my super dry lips (as a result of accutane) and it's become my HG. I put it on everyday and my lips are so smooth and fresh looking. I don't have to worry about this stuff evaporating my from lips like some lip moisturizers do, and the little tubs (7g) last for a while aswell. Would definatley recommend!

Out of the bazillions of products out there for lips, glossing, shining, fattening, smoothing-this is the only one that stops my dry, chapped lips from flaking and peeling. I've really been battling chapped lips this winter, nothing worse than lipstick over scaly lizard lips-this stuff cures it, and allows me to use all of my other balms and glosses and lipsticks. I haven't found anything else that works as well for scaly chapped lips-I only use it when I absolutely have to, I'm worried about it being addictive???

After reading all of the reviews on this product, both here and other places, I decided to try this. Yesterday my lips were cracked beyond belief, bleeding and what not, to the point where even wearing vaseline or other lip products, it hurt to smile! After using this my lips HAVE calmed down A LOT. They are still flaky, but don't hurt at all, though they did hurt in the morning. I'm just afraid of my lips becoming addicted to this! I would recommend this to people with severely chapped lips, but I do not recommend using this again and again where it comes to the point you can't go without this for an hour.

i absolutely love this product. this product is so great because it really makes my lips soft and moisturizes really well. when i put it on it gives my lips great tingly feeling and its mentholated so it works really well and dry lips really don't stand a chance against it. it also gives u a very nice look to ur lips that makes it looks like it has lip gloss on it but not too much and not too little. so with it, you don't even need to put lip gloss on because it makes ur lips look really natural and shiny.

I have been using this for years and years. When I was a kid my lips would get so chapped in the winter that I'd have a line of red, chapped skin under my lower lip. Chap stick sucks! When I was 12, someone finally introduced me to Mentholatum... great for chapped skin, but really goopy and stinky. Then I found Lip Medix, which works really, really, well for dry lips. I also like the smell of it, which I find similar to cocoa butter. I can't stand the smell or taste of Carmex (yellow lid) or Savex (light blue lid - I don't know if that one's made anymore). I have tried just about every single drugstore brand of lip balm made, including all the other Blixtex products, and vaseline in a little tube, but this one works the best. If I let it sit a few minutes, I don't have a problem applying lipstick over it.

Drawbacks: I have to reapply it every couple of hours, and during the night; but I've never found a product that I don't have to reapply, so I think that's more of a reflection on my lips than on the product. It comes in a tub, so you have to wipe off your fingers afterward, and sometimes under your fingernails. I don't like the tingley feel of it... but better than chapped lips!

I bought this as a Carmex substitute after I got sick of the Carmex smell under my nose all night. This is SO MUCH BETTER! Like Carmex, it has a thick emollient waxy base of petrolatum, cocoa butter, and lanolin, with camphor/menthol/phenol mixture for a cooling sensation. Unlike Carmex, this contains no salicylic acid, so it doesn't leave lips feelier drier in the morning.I also much prefer the scent of this product (kind of a vanilla/clove, chai-tea flavor) and it is easier to spread and lasts even longer than Carmex. You can smear on a liberal layer of this and it will last for HOURS. This is a basic, heavy-duty wintertime/nighttime balm that WILL rescue cracked lips. I took off one lippie b/c I think the little blue pot is ugly and masculine-looking, but hey, for $1.99 a pot, I can always scoop out the product and put it in a cuter jar!

I bought this balm in the pot form, during a BOGO sale. It works really well on very chapped lips, but the smell is very medicinal and kinda resembles the strong menthol scent in Noxzema. I would probably purchase again, but only if my lips really need to be moisturized.

The only lip balm I'll ever use.
Works amazingly well, and now they have a stick version!
I have three of these: one in my laptop bag, one in my workout bag, one in my pocket at all times.

I like the cooling sensation and and tingly feeling.
Some people don't seem to like the medicine like smell, but I love it. I always stock up on these whenever I see them on sale.

(stick version) I bought this because of a few recommendations that were given to me. However, I didn't realize how thick and goupy this stuff would be. Plus, the tingly version in the stick form is too strong for my tastes. I don't know about the pot form, but I wouldn't repurchase this.

I love this lip balm, I have been using it for about 3 years now and it always makes my lips smooth and the tingly feeling is nice. The only thing I don't like is how it comes in the tub, I would prefer a stick. They have this product in a stick but it is a bit different and leaves a weird yellow residue in the corners of my mouth.

My HG lip treatment. I can't understand why more people don't know about this stuff! Nothing else works as well when I've got dry, cracked, painful winter lips. I smooth this on and feel my lips become pliant again. Great tingly sensation. I admit the pot form is not always the most convenient, especially if you have long nails, but no tube or stick product works as well for me, so I'll put up with it. I've repurchased at least 10 times.

ok, i know that all of these ingredients (phenol, camphor, menthol, etc.) are REALLY irritating for skin, but when my lips are chapped and burning, i really don't care. i put it on and it just instantly soothes. of course, i use it ONLY for those emergencies, b/c of the irritating nature of it. still, it's definitely a staple! for a less-messy stick form, i recommend natural ice

UPDATE: not sure why I ever felt hte need to use this. vaseline works fine for me these days! down to 1 lippie and won't buy again

I mostly use this for the tingling feeling on my lips from the menthol. I like the smell of it and it does condition my lips pretty well. It isn't sticky but a little bit gooey, but I don't find that this has good staying power. I didn't find that it was good as a base for l/g or l/s. I finally bought a lipbrush solely for the purpose of using with this jar - I don't like dipping my fingers in this anymore. Nowadays, I use this when I exfoliate my lips with a spare toothbrush - the brushing action and the tingling leaves my lips really soft and ready for l/g. I'll most likely continue to buy this because it's effective at what it does, and the price is reasonable.

This is the last product I put on every night before bed. The little pot sits on my nightstand and gets slipped into my bag whenever I travel. It is the BEST!! My lips are always soft, never chapped, never dry. The only negative I have is sometimes I have a hard time finding it and end up purchasing CarMex, which is a perfectly fine product and does the job, but Lip Medex is, by far, my favorite.

My HG nighttime lip balm. I've been faithfully applying this each night before bed for as long as I can remember. My lips are never chapped, and are always soft. I don't have to use a separate lip balm during the day -- just my usual lipstick or gloss. The mentholy smell is strong, but hey, who cares if you get soft lips, right? It's also nice to use on your nose if it's chapped from blowing during a cold.
