I love this cleanser. The price is not as expensive as it seems as you only use a tiny amount each time. The scent is quite slight, and I love the clean easy-to-carry packaging. It leaves my face with such a nice refreshed feeling afterwards, and when combined with the softener and moisturizer afterwards, my skin becomes supersoft (I actually have to stop myself from keep touching my own face!). Anyway, this is great for normal/combo skin, though I wish Shiseido make something softer for the winter months. Sigh...

(Late 40s, oily skin.) I agree with all the positive comments about this product: tiny amount lathers into velvety foam, scent is pleasant but not overpowering, luxurious to use. If you've been wearing foundation, use a toner after cleansing. If you're looking for a change from the humdrum, this will do the trick. I doubt it's doing anything special cleansing-wise but you will feel as if you're being pampered while it does it, and that's not always a bad thing.

My skin is pretty much normal that switches to combination during the summer. This cleanser is perfect for summer use b/c it gets rid of the little bit oil that I do have w/o drying me out. However, now that it is getting colder, I have to switch to something that is less drying.

I am a bit addicted to Shiseido when it comes to skincare. I have been using this foam for over a year now and I love it. The smell is great, not overwhelming, gives me a relaxing feel, the texture is really luxary. I have some negative remarks though: sometimes I find this not powerfull enough to clean all the dirt of my fact and the tube is a bit unhandy, when it is almost finished you'll have the hardest time to get the last bit out. But overall I like this one, I have and will repurchase.

This is the best cleanser I've every owned. I am a product junkie and have tried about everything ever made, but I am 100% loyal to this brand. I actually use the Shiseido Purifying Cleansing Foam, with the little pink granuls for exfoliation and the facial cleasing brush. My face glows! My boyfriend even compliments me on my skin (and he never notices anything!) FYI- I have combination/oily skin. It's pricy but worth every penny$

if you like foam cleansers, you will love this. you only need a tiny bit...it lathers into a rich foam. i like how it makes my skin feel really clean, but doesn't dry it out. it also has a nice subtle scent unlike clarins which is very perfumy. i've tried a lot of cleansers, but i always come back to this one. i would love to try the benefiance foam cleanser next :)

I've been looking for a good face cleanser for the longest time. I tried the Johnson & Johnson Head to Toe Baby Wash, but that dried out my face way too much. The Shiseido Gentle Cleansing Foam is great for combination skin. After I wash my face, it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft with no traces of residue.

I loved this at first, but it soon turned into a less than love relationship. I liked the way it smelled. I liked the packaging. I liked the way it foamed. Then I started to get these little tiny blisters all over my face.
I was a horrible mess when these
blisters morphed into dry flakey skin all over my face. I don't know what it was exactly, but this stuff tore my face to shreds.
I'll use this for shaving my legs if possible. I just don't feel like driving all the way down there again to return it.

I got this as a GWP and I think it is fab. I love the way is gives a really creamy foam, an leaves my skin feeling clean and moisturised. You only need the smallest amount so it will last ages. I do think that the Benefiance cleanser is slightly better (more luxurious and better if my skin is feeling a bit parched), but is a bit pricey for me.

This product is perfect for my skin. I'm 32 years old, Asian and lives in super-dry Denver, Colorado. I am a shameless Shiseido freak. Yes, it is pricey, but worth it. This cleansing foam cleans but does not dry. I admit though that I used this product in 2001 and wasn't as impressed (didn't effectively wash off mascara). I used it again 4 months ago and love, love, love it. Has improved a lot (I don't know if Shiseido did something different, or if it's just me).

This is a great facial cleanser. I barely use a pea-size amount and it lathers up into a rich and creamy foam, which I love. Washes off easily with no leftover residue. I don't feel that it dries me out, but I have a pretty active T-zone. Will definitely buy again!!

One of my favorite foaming cleansers. It is super foamy and milky. My face feels somewhat dry after using this but I like that. However, it does leave a slight amount of residue on my skin.

This is about the best cleanser I have ever used. Compare with the Lancome Self-Foaming Mousse Cleanser I have been using before, this cleans much better, and never leaves dark mascara uncleaned under my eye. It lathers up nicely, the foam is creamy and rich. After wash, my skin is left soft and clean, and absorb moisturizers better.

White creamy cleansing foam that carries a mild refreshing scent. If you have dry skin, the cleansing foam will dry it up even more. So, opt for the cleansing lotion or cream instead.

I got this in a GWP and I really don't like this. It doesn't foam much and the fragrance is way too strong. Plus, the texture feels like Cetaphil which I dislike. And it left an oily film even after I wash my face thoroughly.

I have been using this cleanser for a while now. It foams up great and you can use a very small amount. I used to use the Pureness line when I was younger, and then switched to this. Lately though, it has been drying my cheeks out big time! Maybe my skin is changing? I think I may need to switch to Benefiance instead. I have oily t-zone/dry cheeks 27 yr old skin...and this is causing my cheeks to be rough and irritated--even though I am using Decleor Rose oil on my cheeks and Essential Balm on most of my face at night. But I think this is a great cleanser for oily skin or combo and normal. It is excellent for removing makeup also!!!

I'm rating this product probably higher that I should, but I didn't have any real problems with it so I didn't want to give it a low rating. I received a sample of this product...it foams nicely, but feels a little soapy and has too much of a perfume smell. It does leave my face feeling clean, but could be better. I don't think I would purchase this, because it's pricey for an okay cleanser.
