A rich purple with shimmer. I can use this as an eyeshadow base or liner. It stays put all day and has a wonderful mousse texture. I will be getting more of these.

This is AWESOME. The color is very beautiful, with alot of depth and a subtle shimmer. The fluidlines in general are a fabulous product, and great value for the money. I like these even better than my beloved BB gel eyeliners, and they are 8.00 cheaper here.

I just got this today and I was a little skeptical when the SA brought it over because I already had MAC prunella e/l stick and I didn't want to get a repeat. The SA did a comparison and macroviolet has much more depth to it. She put it on me and I was suprised at how great it looked! A little goes a really long way and it is actually pretty easy to use. Normally I just use wet eye-shadow for eye-liner but I always end up flaking half of the brush on to my face with that. With the Fluidline, there is no flaking since it is a nice gel. I also think that this color will go with pretty much anything. The SA used an angled brush to apply this. I tried putting more on with my Stila flat eye-liner brush when I got home and that seems to work ok for now. Anyway, I give this an enthusiastic thumbs up!

I will never go back to eye pencils ever again. Stays on, looks gorgeous, very versatile product (not just for lining!). I don't care for glass jars though but a little goes a long way with this product!

This is a dead ringer for LANCOME ARTLINER in the color SPECTRUM. Since that is a now discontinued color and was LE, it is nice to know that I can get this color in MAC now.

This is one of the few FLUIDLINES that I have tried that goes on the first time very pigmented. Many of the others I have to reapply twice to combat translucence. This is a subtly metallic reddish plum color.

Goes on like a gel, turns powdery, and stays put all day. I will update as I experiment more with it. So far I like it and am getting used to the slippery texture in applying. I also plan to try it as a base under my shadow sometime in the future. However, I have to do so carefully, as many MAC products can not be put on my skin directly due to allergic reactions.

I have to use another brand as a base but then I can usually use any MAC on top of that.

UPDATE: CAUTION when dealing with Fluidlines. If you are going to use an oily remover like Lancome Bi-facils or Maybellines waterproof eyemakeup remover, make sure you thoroughly cleanse your lids before applying Fluidlines the next day.

Oily lids will cause fading and flaking and you will have a mess. If you can remove it with soap and water, do that, or a cleanser. If not, then make sure not to leave oily residue and this stuff will be awesome.

I love this color. I don't usually venture into color for my eyes, but this is subtle and neutral enough to satisfy me. It's a smokey plum with red shimmer that looks really pretty with my golden brown eyes. I use my BB Ultra-fine liner brush to apply, and it works great. Staying power is excellent, I have to wash it off at the end of the day.

I love Fluidlines! They are sooo silky and super-easy to apply. I love how you can still smudge or fix the color after applying it. But once it sets it's on there and doesn't budge. They are waterproof and don't give me the dreaded raccoon eye. That said...
Macroviolet is a beautiful deep violet. In certain light you can see tones of deep red shimmer in it - but it's not apparent most of the time. It looks almost black when I apply a thin line - but the more you apply (as a shadow or thicker line) the more you are able to tell it's a deep violet color. I love the wearability of this. I once thought Stila Smudge Pots were easy to apply, but after trying this Fluidline I realize that it's so much silkier and easy to use. Plus, my Smudge Pots were giving me raccoon eyes by the end of the day and this does not. And Fluidline colors are sooo much prettier and more complex. I also bought Sweet Sage and Rich Brown and love them!

I am so impressed with this product! I just bought it today and already, I know that this is going to be my HG of all eyeliners!!! For years, I have been using clinique quickliner for eyes in 02 smokey brown and have had so-so results. I liked how easy it was to put on and the color was nice, but it always smeared after about 4 hours...leaving me with racoon eyes. My co-workers were always asking me, "are u ok? are you tired?" Well, I read some reviews about the new fluidline collection and decided to try it. Being a clumsy person, I could never master liquid eyeliner (and still can't), plus it looks too dramatic and fake on me. So I asked the SA what color I could use besides the black and she recommended this color, she said "it was the closest thing to black without being black" The color in the bottle is a shimmery dark dark purple. She called it "eggplanty" and I agree.

She let me apply it on myself and I LOVED the look!! I wear grey colored contacts and have black hair and the color looked absolutely great! It brought out the colors in my eyes and was subtle looking. I love the smooth fluid line and how crisp it looked! On me, it looks dark and black at a distance (probably due to my mascara), but if you look close, its a beautiful shimmery purple. Plus, I like how it's not like liquid eyeliner where you feel like you can PEEL it off. No cracking or bunching of the line at all. 8 hours later, the eyeliner is STILL THERE even though my eyeshadow has rubbed off. I love it!!! I feel like running out and stocking up on this product =) I am so impressed with it, I'm going to go list my 2 clinique quickliners that I had stockpiled in my makeup bag =) The ultimate test comes tommorow when I go to work...

Like DanielleWilliams said, this color is the same as Bobbi Brown's Violet. I took a swatch of each on my hand and compared them and there is no difference in color or shimmer. That said, since MAC's is cheaper I'll repurchase this one when my BB is done.

Edit: November 4, 2008: Still barely made a dent in this eyeliner (the BB one, which is the same at Macroviolet) and I find that the Fluidlines give me raccoon eyes after about 8 hours. Pretty colour but won't repurchase.

Macroviolet is identical to Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Violet. There is not one discernable difference between the two. With that being said, Macroviolet is a gorgeous shimmering medium violet, with incredible lasting power. It looks fabulous against my olive skin and brown eyes. I only recommend this if you don't already own BB Gel Liner in Violet.

yum. this is gorgeous! it is a lovely deep purple with shimmer and looks fantastic as a liner. i used my 266 to apply it. it lasted perfectly for 10 hours on me as a liner! haven't yet tried it as a creme shadow but i will soon. i'm in love with the fluidlines. at $16 CDN they're really a steal, and the colour and quality is exceptional, so smooth and creamy and easy to work with, even for a klutz like me. the packaging is so elegant too. huge rave.

OMG I love that gel eye-liner!

The color is a dark shimmery purple. You need it if you have green or hazel eyes!

It last all day without smudging!

I use my #209 brush to apply it.

Beautiful as a liner, base or shadow. Wears all day and is completely smudge proof. Creamier than Stila Smudgepots which gives you the versatility to wear as a shadow. Once applied it sets in about 30 seconds. Once set, it will last all day.
Color is deep purple with subtle shimmer.

Macroviolet is a deep purple that I love. It's actually the only color I like out of the other colors by MAC. The texture is great. The other ones were either very plain like the black and brown or too bright. I applied it in the morning and it looks still fresh after a long day. Rave for the new gel formula!

I'm really into this macroviolet! I'm loving the texture and flawlessness of fluidline in general, but this color inparticular works well for my standard eyelook of artjam paint as a base, shadowy lady in the crease, vex as highlighter and lid color and now macroviolet to line. Somehow this all come together quite beautifully and now I feel like my eye look is complete.

UPDATE 5/25/05: Of all my fluidlines, I find that this is the only one that is prematurely drying out. It's okay though because I don't really use it to line all that much, although, the color is nice enough to wear alone as a base/wash on days when I don't give a s$%t

I love this. the color is a deep purple with shimmer, but not glitter. stays on all day. goes on more smoothly than BB gel liner and I'm a fan of the BB. This has a silkier feel to it, almost a translucency. Great price, too. I use the BB extra fine liner brush to apply.
