GREAT kabuki brush.

The packaging scared me a little bit, the bristles were bent to one side and seemed to be squished in the box, but I washed the brush, fluffed it up a bit, and now it works wonderfully.

It's a great brush for buffing in powder, whether it be concealer, setting powder, you name it. The bristles are soft, the brush is DENSE, and the head is wide, so you can cover a lot of area.

Not to mention the look of the brush. It looks absolutely stellar! Like something that ought to be 20 dollars more expensive. I bought a bunch as Christmas gifts and everyone has been absolutely awed by this brush.

Great brush. It does its job until you wash it. I washed mine twice and on the second wash, I noticed that it started to shed massively. Then suddenly the hairs all plopped out of its casing in one *PLOP*!!! I audibly gasped in surprise? horror? Utter unbelief? Did that just happen?????

Gawd. It's a nice brush....

but it can't hold up to washing. I need things to be sanitary so I guess it's good for just keeping around and using til it gets so gross that you have to dump it. For the price.. I guess that's what it was meant for.

First off, let me share my personal experience with E.L.F this time around. I ordered my package on the 7th of last month, and I just got my package the other day. I had to call customer service three times, and nobody ever noted that I called. When my first package went missing, they told me to do the foot work because my FedEx status said "Delivered" but at the top "In Transit". With my first order, I got a free make-up kit for hitting a certain amount in my cart. I was expecting it to come even though it was over (but probably in my first box), because it's one of the reasons I filled my cart more. Apparently, they cut that product code out of my second reshipment. BUT, they did send me two things I ordered that were out of stock in my first order.

Now, I would have liked that kit, but I'm not mad. I'm just happy I got most my package. (E.L.F needs to start telling people what products are out of stock) that way we know not to pay for it at all. To only get 3-1 dollars back for one thing and told to re-order that one thing is silly (especially for six dollar shipping). But despite these annoyances and crappy service, I still love E.L.F's cosmetics.

ANYWAY, lol. I actually like this kabuki brush. It's better than Avon's brush. It's soft, and if I need it to be more dense I'll take a hair tie out and wrap it around. But overall, it doesn't flake hairs on me. It's nice quality, it definitely is holding that studio standard.

I LOVE this kabuki brush. I loove all the studio line brushes. They are extremely cheap and good quality. This kabuki brush is no exception. It is very soft and does not shed. The hairs might be a little long for some people, because it is not as dense. But I like it because I use this to dust the elf hd powder, so it's perfect for picking up loose powders and lightly dusting it over my face. I love love how soft and gentle this brush is. I have the makeup brushes from bare escentuals, and whenever i use them, they feel so HARSH on my skin, compared to the studio line. All the brushes are only $3, and i have several of them because they are wonderful :)

If you're looking for an affordable kabuki brush, this is it! It's only $5 on eyeslipsface.com. Lucky for me, I got it for only $1.25 when the studio line was 75% off. The brush is already so affordable, but look out for coupons and save even more. E.L.F. always has some coupon available(;

Like the other studio brushes, its AMAZINGLY SOFT. It's synthetic haired and it's really easy to wash and dries quickly (I shake off most of the water before letting it dry). It is dense, but because of the length of the bristles, it has a some more give to it. But it's a QUICK FIX. I just wrap a hair tie at the base so that the bristles are more gathered together. You can even move the tie up a little bit more for more control and just lower it or take it off to blend things out.

I use the kabuki brush mainly for my mineral or powder foundation and it buffs it in really nicely. I also use it for the elf mineral booster and I get great results. This comes in really handy when I apply too much blush or bronzer. I just buff and blend it away and it's all good!

this is a gorgeous kabuki, though it isn't as dense as some other kabuki brushes i own it's still utterly fab, it's the softest brush i own and that's really saying alot considering i own alot of high end brushes, i would recommend this brush to anyone :)

I bought this brush during the ELF 60% off Studio line sale. I recommend buying all their brushes during one of their Studio sales as even if you don't like it they are in high demand for swapping on MUA.

PROS- the brush is super soft, doesn't shed, no strange odor, dirt cheat, and mimics NARS lovely packaging.

CONS- the brush bristles are rather lengthy and not as dense as I prefer. My sister loves the bristles long, but I prefer denser, shorter bristles. I remedied this by putting a rubber band around the lower portion of the brush to make the bristles denser and wahla! My HG powder brush for $1.20!!

I bought this brush for blending and finishing powder, and it works well for that purpose. It wasn't great for applying powder foundation as it is kind of floppy. It's super soft and hasn't shed or bled at all. For 5 bucks it was a great purchase.

The good thig about thips brush is that its super soft and super cheap. The hairs on this brush are not nearly dense enough for me,
So its difficult for me to buff powder foundation on. It doesn't hold onto product well.
I am keeping this brush though. It does a good job of blending my blush into the skin
And toning down the color when I got heavy handed. Its an ok brush, nothing spectacular

I might rebuy. There's not a lot of resistance from the bristles and not enough of an ability to hold in some powder to help the coverage, but oh well. It's not bad but I prefer something a little bit more condensed.

Pros:
-price
-SUPER-soft bristles
-handle's nice
-provides nice coverage
Cons:
-too soft
-a little floppy

This brush is very good for applying powder. And it barely sheds at all when you wash it a hundred times ! =) Which is great. I wouldn't purchase it again, is because at time this brush might be too dense, and tough that it picks up too much powder, sometimes too little. But this brush is very soft, and the price is just amazing !

You know what would be the perfect kabuki? A taklon E.L.F. brush shaped like Posh's kabuki and with its density. As is, though, this is a decent brush, but not a great one. It is especially good for finishing powder or a sheer finish instead of medium-to-heavy coverage. E.L.F.'s brush is kind of bell shaped, it has fairly long, soft fibers that splay easily, and it's not terribly dense. So it feels great on the skin and diffuses powder very, very well. On the other hand, you don't have a lot of control over where the product goes, which is my main issue with the brush. The dome-shaped Posh kabuki is made of natural hair, which I dislike, but you know exactly where you're blending the powder, etc. Oh, well. Still on the hunt for the perfect cruelty-free kabuki.

ETA: ELF has reshaped their face kabuki and it is now more domelike and a bit smaller. I like it, but I don't love it. It's still not terribly dense and ELF brushes do not age well in my opinion; any faults in construction show up over time, including uneven fiber length.

I do not like the smell yeah it smells so much so that I called them to tell them. They told me no one ever called them to tell them that. lol I think maybe they know come on now. Yeah so back to the brush it's soft but it bleeds. The dye they used bleeds when I wash it. Not cool! An the smell has not left the brush. It has hair that falls out all the time even while cleaning. I don't want to use it due to the bleeding. I have picked it up and brushed it back and forth in my hand. It is only $5.00 and I don't want to break out before the holidays over a 5 buck item.

This brush like everyone else said is very very soft. However, when using it is not very dense, and the size is the biggest kabuki I have ever seen. I like this brush for its softness however is not dense enough to give me good coverage on my mineral powders, and too large for bronzer. Is a wonderful brush but I'm not sure wht to use it for... I wish they make a smaller version of this that's more dense. But im not complaining I did get this for $2.50 on their 50% studio brush sale. worth trying out.

The e.l.f. Studio kabuki brush is a great buy - it's actually nicer than the small ecotools kabuki brush that comes in the mineral kit. This kabuki is great for apply blush/bronzer. The Studio powder brush is my favorite for applying my mineral foundation, so I doubt I will change. I will purchase this brush again...

Pros:
-Cheap
-Soft
-Not scratchy
-Hardly sheds
-Dense

Cons:
-Has an unpleasant smell (Lingers after 1st wash. Not washed it more yet, will update when I do)
-Bristles aren't "bouncy". It goes out of shape with a little pressure and doesn't "bounce" back to shape so have to constantly reshape during use
-Takes long to dry (since it's quite dense)

A little tip to get it to dry faster: Towel-dry it first.

After washing, squeeze all the water out, then, as if you're doing a after-use clean, swipe your brush up and down repeatedly on a clean towel to semi-dry it before leaving it out to dry properly.
