I'm surprised and impressed with this product! I usually wear Becca tinted moisturizer (nude) or Chanel Teint Innocence (02) and I got this in I think #3, I can't check at the moment, the GA site appears to be down, weird. Anyway, there must be silicone or something super smooth in the Face Fabric because it goes on and just melts into the skin. It feels completely different from any other GA foundation -- or any other foundation or TM -- I have ever tried.

This is a fab pore minimizer + tinted moisturizer that I know girls with combo or oily skin will LOVE. It reminds me of Clinique's pore minimizer in terms of the air-beaten mousse-like texture, but it's even softer and does a greater job of covering up unsightly pores while depositing the tiniest bit of pigment for an evening effect.(if you don't react well to silicone, might steer clear)
I'm usually an NC 30 and number one was a bit too pale for me, so next time I'll get number two.
(In Seoul anyhow, the most popular shade is #2)
Beware that all dry spots or flakes will be totally accentuated with this type of dry formulation. So be sure to exfoliate completely before wearing this.
I won't say it's perfect, but it's a dreamy new product that's wonderful for ladies that want a quick fix in the mornings that will erase pores and give you a nude-makeup effect. (like we're not wearing any at all) It's perfect for May through the height of summer IMO since it's weightless and non-oily.

I love this! I am Nude in Laura Mercier TM and Extra Light in BB, and I find that #2 in the Face Fabric works well for me. This feels different from either a TM or a foundation for me. As others have mentioned, it feels very light yet somehow seems to provide good coverage (at least for me). I have some redness on my cheeks as I get older, and this seems to neutralize the redness quite well. I'm tempted to buy my second tube now, as I suspect this product will sell out quickly and be quite popular. The best part was discovering that this was less pricey than some other GA products; at $45 a tube, I consider it almost a "steal'! I think this product will end my search for the HG foundation/TM!

Wow! I'm really liking this product. I'm an NC20 in MAC and wear Porcelain and/or Nude in Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer and the #2 in GA's Face Fabric is just right for me. I'd say the coverage of Face Fabric is light but it also evens out the surface of your skin sort of like a primer (which is what it feels like going on) and it leaves your skin with this beautiful velvet finish that both looks and feels wonderful as other reviewers have mentioned. It is extremely natural looking on the skin and I don't think you can make a mistake putting it on as it blends so well. I have been patting on powder lightly on top, but that is also because I like to wear a fairly rich sunscreen under my foundation or tinted moisturizer. That leads me to another impressive thing about Face Fabric. I can layer it over something else and it doesn't do that goofy pilled up little ball thing that some other silicone containing products tend to do. This is an excellent product. I paid $45 at Saks Fifth Ave for the 1.35 oz tube. My only complaint (which is a small one) is that I wish they'd packaged it with a flip cap as sometimes screwing on the cap is a pain; it has to be centered just right. But maybe that would have made it cost $50 instead of $45. ; ) I will definitely repurchase. I think its perfect for spring and summer.

Even though this is expensive, if you're looking for something in between a tinted moisturizer and foundation, this is perfect. It doesn't have as heavy of a feel (or as complete of a coverage) as foundation, but it covers light blemishes and evens out skin really well (can be used alone, but I usually put finishing touches on it with loose powder). It's also really light, silky, almost invisible, so perfect for the summer. The SPF isn't that great, but I would recommend just wearing a SPF primer or moisturizer under it for more sun protection. The only downside is that it's not available in very many Saks locations (or other stores), so it'll have to be ordered online. The problem with ordering online is that it doesn't have very accurate or good descriptions of the shades, so you'll just have to make your best guess about what matches. I have fair skin, but with yellow undertones (Asian), so I thought porcelain might be too light, especially for summer. I ended up getting 3, which looked pretty dark, but it goes on very sheer. I still might try a 2 next time though, especially for the winter. All of the shades are pretty sheer, I think. I would definitely give this a try!

A really really good foundation. Its very light, so light that I don't really notice that i'm wearing foundation. The feeling is great too, like having silk on your face, not that heavy, sticky feeling that I usually get. But there are two minor problems for me; the coverage is not great, but I expect thats what makes it 'natural'; and I can't really find a colour that matches me the best. I'm using #3 right now, but its a bit darker than my skin, I tired #2, but that was too pale for me. In the morning I put a base underneath the foundation, but it's quite obvious that I'm wearing something in the morning. It gets better in the afternoon, I guess thats because a bit of the foundation has 'sunk' into my skin. But overall, it is a really good foundation, natural enough for me. I will purchase this again. Hope they don't stop making this!!

THIS IS NOT FOUNDATION. please read the product description!
"Giorgio Armani translates his skills in texture and layering into its unique range of cosmetic textiles, a wardrobe for face.
Face fabric is an invisible makeup with a 3D Micro-fil™ technology.
Its unique Micro-fil™ formulations bring lightness and fluidity to makeup, allowing infinite blending and layering to enhance the natural glow of the skin.
A subtle, neutral palette is accented with two shades – porcelain and apricot – to be used alone to create a healthy-looking glow, combined with any of the shades to boost the color, or alone to sculpt or highlight the complexion."
this is not a full fledged foundation and the object of this product is not to provide thick coverage. Its suppose to deliver a smooth appearance by blurring your imperfections- which it DOES. It has a great whipped mousse texture that blends like a dream. It does not look like you are wearing foundation at all, which is what I want, even though I have redness and break outs. I just layer some concealer and thats it, I find that my skin looks better in this way, then using a thicker foundation, with concealer, and trying to look flawless when the skin's texture gives it away.
Some MA use this as a primer, for foundation, which theorectically it should work great, but I am content with this. It does not proivde coverage because it is not designed to, it is a product to make you look beautiful in your own skin.

I am changing my reveiw for a few reasons: 1) I entered the wrong shades and 2) I have altered the application process.
I have this product in #8 (white) and #1 (the lightest color shade). I originally applied the product like a TM, that was my first mistake. Second, I did not put powder over it. That was my second mistake. Last, I did not try combining the 2 shades, that was my third mistake.
When applied w/a foundation brush (the Armani one used w/the Designer foundation), and then blended in w/my fingers, the coverage was much much better. Also, the blending of the two shades brought the #1 color down to a #.5 which was a much better match. I did set it w/loose powder. I also used it over a sunscreen and a primer product. I now see what so many others do. Soft focus, blends in well, lovely skin. I do not like the result of applying w/my fingers and #8 alone did nothing for me (this was the one I was told to use as my foundation by the SA- I purchased #1 on my one accord).
Also, I would never have gone back a second time if it had not been for a close friend whose skin looked amazing even though I knew she had issues with it. When I asked what foundation she had on, she replied w/ "GA face fabric". She told me her technique and I tried it again w/my shades. Hence, this new review. Will I buy it again? Perhaps.

This is a very good tinted moisturizer. I wouldn't call this a foundation as it has no coverage. I've never been able to find a good one that fit my skin tone until now. This does have alot of slip to it, like my primers. I swiped this on with a foundation brush and gently powder and look flawless!

Couldn't wait to get my hands on this and when I did it was sheer perfection. The coverage is absolutely beautiful-it's a YSBB foundation. It's lightweight but packs a serious punch when it comes to how easily and seamlessly it blends. I'm an NC30 and #5 in the Designer Modeling Compact Foundation SPF 22 in this I am the #3. The match was perfect and it seems as if it'll cover all skin tones b/c it literally is like a second skin and the color just melts into your skin. I applied it w/my fingers and all I needed was a very tiny amount-I applied it the dot dot way and then just spread and blended. I would describe the texture sort of like a powdery gel almost like the feel of their primer. My skin feels very comfortable as if I'm not wearing anything at all. It really blurred out my acne scar, didn't emphasize fine lines, a little goes a long way, lasted throughout my day and stood up to this HOT as heck Cali weather we're having. I dusted w/the Laura Mercier powder primer and wallah great looking skin. I highly recommend this as an alternative to heavy thick foundation. One complaint: a flip top would have made it even more perfect.

Truly a "second skin" Hides inperfections & pores. It really makes your skin look flawless without that heavy foundation look. Will definitely repurchase.

i have been a tomboy pretty much my whole life and just started wearing makeup and buying beauty products at the beginning of this year. i have always had good skin but started to notice some redness/breakouts/lines due to my carelessness. anyway, i have been avidly searching for a complexion evening, light foundation or TM. i will never search AGAIN! I tried this on a whim after i returned the laura mercier TM (too streaky/orange for me)- and now i am afraid because if they EVER stop making this I WILL DIE. I look like I have perfect porcelain skin and it feels like i have nothing on!

MUST TRY.. and you too will def be in love with this foundation as everyone else has!!!!
I have been using this product since for around 5years..... I am from Syd and it wasn't introduced there until about 2 years ago (I used to get it overseas). It's quite expensive in Syd-(only available at SELECTED David Jones) $79/$89... I can't remember but I think its one of those number :PP But its worth every penny! I get comments that my skin is "flawless" and nature but glowing at the same time... The only down side is that does end up looking a bit dull at the end of the day, so do bring u press powder out with you for touch ups~~~( I use covermark, or chantecaille- both also 2 thumbs up, also worth a try).
Okay gals.....
But a good tip from me is that Malaysia sells GA foundation really cheap!!! I think its 150RM= 50AU :D ... and the Laura Mercier primer is like 35au there also- its like $60 in Syd (but its always out of stock in Malaysia.....)

Wow, this stuff is truly amazing. For anyone that has read my previous reviews, I have complained that I am pale as a ghost (I wear Armani #0) however I have some light discolorations on the underneath of my chin, that are still noticeable due to my paleness (every little mark shows on my skin.) Lately I have been using Chanel's Universal Blanc which I mixed with the lightest foundation which I could find (MUFE #15) and while this was not a perfect match, it was the best I have found, that is until I came upon this item. I ordered on Wednesday at Sak's the #8 (btw the SA told me that this was only a highlighter and not meant to be used as foundation and tried to get me to purchase another shade, however, after reading the reviews here and seeing that #8 was an excellent choice for others, I stood my ground and said that I wanted to order #8) and so glad that I did. I was surprised that you really do not need large amounts ...... the squirt that I had released (which is the normal amount I've used with other foundations) was way too much, and truly the tiniest amount is needed, but what I could not believe was that the color was a great color match for me ....... I was shocked to see that as I continued to blend, the discolorations on the underneath of my chin began disappearing as they were covered up ....... WOW I could not believe it ......... this stuff is truly amazing and just blends into my skin and looks so natural ....... definitely a keeper for me! Extreme PPP ladies like myself, give this a try in #8.

Wow, this is strange and excellent quality stuff. It is almost like a light mousse that should have no coverage, but actually covers and evens quite well. Many heavy-coverage foundations emphasize my acne scars, but this one seems to diffuse them. It looks completely natural, even up close. It goes on smoothly and is easily layered without any caking. It has a weird matte but slightly glowing look with no shine- hard to describe. Lasting power without setting it is quite impressive in an office, but I will update on hot days. Surprisingly, this is pretty transfer resistant. I'm actually using the white #8 as a foundation, which is more like an alabaster as other MUAers describe it. Highly recommend. No breakouts as of yet (it is labelled as non-comedogenic), but will update if it happens. The ingredients are minimal: Octinoxate 2%, cyclopentasiloxane, dimethicone crosspolymer, disodium stearoyl glutamate, aluminum hydroxide (may contain mica, red 36, yellow 5 lake, iron oxides, titanium dioxide) FYI: For CDN members, I found this at Holt Renfrew-not sure if all locations have it. UPDATE: I went to check out the #1, as the #8 is getting a bit too pale with the warmer weather. I was amazed to find out that #1 is actually very pale yellow-toned . I'm a bit paler than NC15 and 95% of the palest shades out there and devoid of all pink. This is a great shade, so if you're pale don't be deterred by the darker shade of the tube. Update: Still really loving this and reaching for it over all others. Now that it's grossly hot, I'm amazed how this holds up even with sports. Still no breakouts on my very sensitive skin after a few months of use. I'm now mixing the #8 and #1 for the best look. For some reason, the #8 in there seems to offer better coverage and look. Will definitely repurchase!

I got a sample of this in the mail the other day from Saks... this stuff is beyond belief! It feels so creamy, nice going on - then disappears into a weightless veil of soft, luminous coverage. I agree that you can build the coverage up pretty well. It's simply perfect!

I absolutely love this foundation, it's the best.
I was matched with shade 1 and it's perfect, no pink tones whatsoever and the packaging looks really classy.
You only need the tiniest amount for your whole face and it just goes on so smoothly, it's classed as light coverage but I find it covers better than all of my other medium too full coverage foundation.
Skin looks airbrushed and matte.
Expensive at £27 for 40ml but the tiny amount you have to use makes it worth it.
I set it with Armani's Micro-fil loose powder and it lasts all day without wearing off.

The texture of this is absolutely sublime. I have never used a foundation that felt so weightless and yet looked so real. I've tried almost all the Armani foundations and each one is better than the last. I loved the designer modeling compact because I thought it looked so natural, but the finish of face fabric has to be seen to be believed. "infinite blendability" is not just marketing speak - this makeup is seamless and just melts into the skin. The silicone base does indeed soften all lines as previous reviewers have noted. I don't have perfect skin (oily T with large pores) but this provides enough coverage to give the illusion of a porcelain complexion. Initially, I thought this would be more like a primer or TM to wear under my cream to powder, but it's to be worn by itself. I use #1 as a base and the #8 in white as a highlighter and concealer. I don't even need my skin retouch for dark circles now. The white is not a flat chalky white - it's more like a very pale alabaster that has an almost imperceptible sheen so the skin looks more dimensional rather than mat. My one negative comment is that the active ingredient in the SPF is not great for UVA protection. I would've preferred titanium dioxide so I still use a broad spectrum sunscreen underneath. They also don't carry the pale rose shade here in the states. I would've liked to have at least tried it out. But this foundation is hands down the best I've ever tried. HG! UPDATE 9/6: Still loving this. I admit I was seduced recently by CDP's Refining Fluid Foundation, but quickly dismissed it after a side by side comparison w/ GA. Even during an exceptionally muggy summer, this held up well throughout the day without any powder. And it's so easy to apply! One drop and you can literally "mush" it anywhere on your face. It's that fool proof. Definitely use a moisturizer if you have any dryness, especially under the eyes.

This is a great product and melts into you skin. It does not provide huge coverage but will make your face look dewy and give it a glow.
It also has an spf which is great. A must for the summer. I have yet to be disappointed by any of the Armani range.
