I picked this up at Bath and Body Works. I love it! I love the tin, and the scent is light but very nice. I use this on my lips and any other dry spots on my skin at night before bed. When I wake up in the morning, my lips are so soft and hydrated. Feels so girly, and the tin will probably last forever. I love it!

l like this product, but to me it's nothing too* special. I bought it a while ago, maybe almost two years ago, and I still have some left. It does have a nice pink color and a mild smell that isn't offensive. The pink color in the tin doesn't really show up on your lips, although I do think that the salve gives a hint of color. The texture is not as greasy as vaseline to me, and it coats your lips nicely and stays on for a while. It is moisturizing, but not a miracle treatment. I have only used it on my lips, so I don't know how it works for its other uses. In a pinch, I would definitely use it for hands or cuticles, but since I haven't I can't really review on that aspect of the product. Since I use it just for lips, I wish they would make this product in a squeeze tube version as well because I think it is more sanitary. I would probably buy a separate tin then to use as cuticle cream and a body moisturizer where needed. I agree with another reviewer that said that this product is good to have around, so I would probably repurchase when I finish it just to have it. However, this is not my go-to balm and there are better products out there.

I've bought this about twice. I really like the smell and the look it gives my lips. It's not particularly moisturizing but it does protect chapped lips. I don't really like dipping my finger in the pot, but it's ok. The packaging is cute. This is pretty good stuff
just to have.

I got this from Bath and Body a while ago, and I really like it! I first purchased it because I love multitasking products (who doesn't!?!) and this rose salve came in an adorable tin that had all the different places you can use it written on the side of the lid. It says it can be used on Lips, Cuticles, Elbows, knees, and even face! So far I have only used it on my lips, elbows and cuticles. I'm not sure I have the guts to put something like this on my acne-prone face yet, but who knows, maybe someday! Anyway, I love it on my lips. It gives a really pretty sheen to my lips and even though I am pretty sure there's no actual pigment in it, I feel like they make my lips a little pinker. And, bonus!! My lips feel super smoothed and moisturized after I put it on! It also works wonders on my seasonally dry and chapped elbows and cuticles. And the smell has to be one of my favorite smelling products ever!! That's saying a lot! I am talking best compared to hair, bath and face products combined!!! I love the rose smell and I feel like there is a slight vanilla as well, although no one else I have told this seems to think so!! When it comes to the ingredients, I only just looked at them for the first time today for this review and I am surprised it has jojoba esters in it, I thought it was just scented Vaseline like a lot of my fellow reviewers, but I am pretty sure Vaseline doesn't have jojoba esters in it! Anyway, I highly recommend this product! It will be especially helpful for the upcoming Winter months which are growing nearer and nearer, whether we like it or not!

I absolutly love this product, I pretty much have it with me all the time. My lips are always chapped, and this stuff is one of the only things that actually work, besides medicated chapstick, but even that doesn't work as well as this stuff. I also love the way it makes my lips look a really nice pink color. Love it!

This is a great multipurpose product. I throw the tin in my purse and can use it as a lip gloss, cuticle cream or a moisturizer for trouble spots like elbows. If necessary I can rub a little on my eyelids with some mascara for a natural look that brightens your eyes.

I ended up buying this product on a search for a lip balm a friend let me sample once. I couldn't tell if it was this one or Smith's that was the exact thing I was looking for, so I bought this one because it was easily attainable at Bath and Body Works.
Overall, I'm really satisfied. My lips are almost constantly chapped or peeling, no matter the season. I usually exfoliate at night and apply chapstick 5 or 6 times a day and still end up with jacked up lips pretty often.
For people without serious lip peeling problems, yeah, this is probably perfumed vaseline. But this managed to smooth and moisturize my lips for over four hours with just one application. The moisture really sinks in, unlike with Vaseline for me.
I don't mind the tin: it stays closed and applying it with my pinky is fine for this product because it isn't strongly colored and absorbs well into skin.
As for the price, $5.50 for a large tin of lip balm that works this well is not much to ask.

This has the same concept as Smith's Rosebud salve, but they are quite different product-wise. They both do what they claim to do which is to moisturize. What's better may depend on the individual's preference. The advantage this has over the Smith's is that for those who dislike the smell of Smith's (not me), this has a milder scent. Also, it's more of a sweet rose as opposed to a classic rose scent. Got this for 5.50 + tax. I will buy this again if I run out. Btw, I absolutely love the pink tin this comes in. Very girly pink and I love pink!:)

Pros: I loved how it made my lips feel as well as the smell.
Cons: Doesn't taste too great and I don't like the idea of having to use my finger to apply it. It should come in a better applicator.

not bad, not great. i don't see how this product is anymore effective than vaseline, but the cute packaging and scent suckered me in. the price is pretty expensive, considering it's just scented vaseline-- to me, at least.

I have a lip moisturizer addiction, and I think this product is pretty good. It comes in an adorable tin, it's very smooth, and it lasts forever. I don't see exactly what the hype is with this product as I don't find it that much better than Vaseline. And it smells weird. And tastes even weirder. But oh well. It's still a good product. Moisturizes my cuticles and lips wonderfully.

I LOVE this!! It's better over lip gloss in that it isn't sticky. It's more like a smooth vasiline type gloss. The smell isn't overwhelming - just a light rose scent. What I also like about this is that it doesn't drip off my lips like lip gloss. I keep one in my purse and one on my nightstand to use before I go to bed. The only thing I really dislike is that is is in a tin - so you have to put your fingers in it - which is kinda germy. So I usually use it after I wash my hands. My favorite lip gloss right along with the Body Shoppe's lip glosses.

DO NOT BUY... SMITH'S ROSEBUD is the BEST!!!
this is just a poor, poor immitation of Smith's Rosebud. I didn't realize I was buying the same one, but it has none of the same quality as Smith's. Litterally, it's vaseline in a tin... that last's all of ten minutes.

I love this stuff. It keeps my lips moist and shiny without being sticky. I like the subtle rose-y scent. The best part of this product is that the excess left on my fingertip can be rubbed into my cuticles and the little dry patches I get on my hands and it doesn't leave me sticky. It's a nice multi-tasking product. I have used it to tame stray hairs on my head, give a little glow to my browbones and soothe little patches of razor burn. I almost always have it in my bag. I've never tried any similar products and I don't feel the need to. I got it for $5.50 at BBW and I would def. repurchase. The only reason I didn't give this 5 lippies is because I think it's a little unsanitary to keep dipping your finger in something, but I can deal.

This is such a great product! It's great for moisturizing my lips. I have very dry lips most of the time and most lip balms just dry them out even more, but not this stuff! It's also really great for any dry places I get on my skin. Usually if I get an extra dry area on my face I can pat some of this on and it helps a ton. I'm almost out of my tin of this and I will certainly repurchase it.

I picked this up at B&BW because I love Smith's Rosebud Salve and wanted to see if this was the same. I have had both of them for about a month. They are in front of me right now as I write this. First, a comparison:
The texture is different for each. C.O. has a texture more like a thick cream. Smith's is more thick and goopy like Vaseline. C.O. is a lighter shade, more of a coral or salmon. Smith's is similar only darker and rosier. C.O. has a candy smell with hint of rose to me. Smith's has more rose to it. If you've ever smelled Mary Kay's Extra Emollient Night Cream, that is what Smith's smells like to me. Both tins are old fashioned and attractive. C.O. is called Rose Salve, has a rosy color tin and states "rose extract .9%." It doesn't say when the salve was developed, only, "Est. 1836 Apothecaries." On the bottom of the tin, it claims to care for lips and beautify skin. The ingredients are: petrolatum, lanolin oil, squalane, flavor, octyldodecanol, cotton seed oil, rosa canina fruit extract, bisabolol, jojoba esters, red 30 lake. Along the side of the tin are the repeating words: lips, cuticles, elbows, knees, face. It is .8 oz. Made in NYC. http://www.bigelowchemists.com/index.php
Smith's tin is a midnight blue color, it's called Rosebud Salve, and is also .8 oz. It says, "First prepared by a druggist in 1892. New package adopted 1962." On the bottom of the tin, it has a retro illustration of a woman applying it to her lips and another woman using it on her baby. It claims to be useful for chapped skin, diaper rash, blemishes, detergent burns, rough cuticles, and softens hands. Along the sides of the tin, there are roses. Ingredients: cottonseed oil, aromol, with essential oils blended in a special petrolatum base. Made in MD. http://www.smithsrosebudsalve.net/index.html
So which do I like better? Well, I have been using Smith's more, but it's as though whichever one I am using the most is the one I think I prefer. Then, I use the other for a while and think it's better. So it's really a YMMV. I recommend you try both and decide. I love the hint of color on my lips when I use them, especially if I have a more dramatic eye look. They are great to use on the lips and hands at bedtime. So, I will probably always pick up a tin of one or the other when I happen to need more and am in either B&BW or Sephora.
