I use this as a concealer and I really like it; it DOES cover everything which is great cause I have a LOT of little acne scars. A little goes a long way and to apply it correctly it definitely takes practice..I'm sttiiiillll trying to fully get the hang of it. Get this if you have hyperpigmentation or any other annoying crap on your face...it works.

My lovelies - I bought this and yes, if I was going to run away to the circus, this would be the perfect pancake makeup....but....

I am a mad scientist at heart. I guess I spent too many years now at Skin Actives and other do it yourself places. I've mixed my own minerals and have made myself orange and yellow and a variety of colors. But I don't give up.

So here I sit here with this jar of pancake makeup and I'm thinking, what will make this stuff behave. So I go into my larder and decide, how am I going to make the perfect concealer for me, because it really does conceal very well.

I take a small jar and scoop out (not too much) of the concealer. Then I start to add stuff. Decide not to add anything that rolls up on me, only moisturizing stuff. So I squirt in some makeup base. Swish it around. Then I had a tube of Weleda eye stuff that was so so straight. So I start to squirt that into the mix. I also add some color that I know is perfect for the way I want it to look (as a concealer). I get some foundation I love but is too light for me. I squirt that in. Mix and mix. Then I decide to add some jojoba oil, which I think is perfect for any skin. I mix a few drops in. Then I layed my jar in a warm water bath for awhile, and re-mixed.

Well eventually I made something that was the perfect consistency. The color was good and it still had enough of the original concealer quality to do the job. I've tested it on my face for three days at work with good result. I really think the jojoba oil was key and made the whole thing emollient. A few drops at a time.....and test....

I'm a firm believer that if I can't take it back I start mixing stuff. This is too oily, so I add something matt. This is the right color, but the consistency is wrong, so I counter balance.

I know, I'm nuts. But I have my perfect concealer now. What is the worst thing that could happen? Let everything sit in the back of my cupboard until the day I throw it away? Nah....if it's going away, hell try mixing it together!!

Fun stuff. Beauty products are great to play with.

i really like dermablend cover cream but, people have a lot of mix feelings on this website about it but i think people are just mis-using it. On the jar its called a foundation, but i don't think anyone should use it as a foundation it would be way too heavy. It should only be used as a concealer with any type of setting powder. I personally use the dermablend setting powder because I have oily skin. f.y.i mac nw 45 and i wear dermablend golden brown 5 1/2 i don't really like the jar idk i think its just me but they also have it packaged in a lipstick looking thing it called quick fix and its cheaper, but i will never run out of the jar i have now.

I would maybe buy this again...I got this when I thought I had major acne to cover up, the lady at the counter took one look at me looking at Dermablend and told me to step away b/c she said it was too thick and unworkable. I got it anyway, b/c the shades are much better than other brands, but I've never been completely happy with this.

It is really obvious on my face b/c of the texture of the product, which ends up looking like spackle regardless of how much I blend. Dusting powder over this makes it even more visible. And I can never get over the little spatula thing it comes with to remove some of the product, which you then have to warm up on the back of your hand before applying. The whole procedure reminds me of painting a wall, not of getting ready in the morning. I only use this if I'm going to wear a full face of this, for photos. Otherwise it's just too visible. It's never broken me out though, so that is a plus.

Pretty good coverage, but it's just too thick and cakey. I've been using it for a while because I've yet to find something with the same amount of coverage but looks more natural. I don't think I will buy Dermablend again, though. It's just too visible on my face, and I want a more natural look.

i have a birthmark on my face and i discovered this product when i was 16, before laser removal(too expensive) and it is a godsend...it is a miracle product, although the cover creme is a little heavy, it's the best, a little goes a long way. In the summer months i use either the compact cover creme or the leg and body cover because its not as heavy.....THE BEST CONCEALER FOR ALL SKIN IMPERFECTIONS!!!!!!!!!

I tried this to cover some old red acne marks but it broke me out by the end of the day where I applied it! It's not necessarily the mineral oil in the product that is the problem, although mineral oil can be mildly comedogenic in some people it is actually classified as a "noncomedogic" ingredient, but the isopropyl palimate which is HIGHLY comedogenic! It is a known pore clogger and acne promoter so if you have acne prone skin this will totally make you break out! So I got covermark's face magic foundation instead because although it does have mineral oil it does not contain isopropyl palimate or any other comedogenic ingredient. Better colours than dermablend's cover cream as well. However I really love dermablend's new leg and body cover...it's been reformulated and has great natural looking colours.

I am reviewing the newer version of cover creme which I got a decent sample of from a SA the other day. I asked to sample Chroma 1 Rose Beige and she wrote Chroma 1 Pale Ivory (which is Chroma 0) on the bottle, so at the moment I am not certain which color I am trying...lol I will add to my review if necessary after a color change.

Pros: Feels like a dream on. My skin is soft and supple. No mask like feeling normally present with full coverage makeup.Fragrance free. Non irritating to my very sensitive skin. No silicones which I seem to have a problem with. Blends easily with no need for moisturizer first. Slow drying so it leaves you time to blend and make sure its all even. Did not dry my skin out. Did not emphasize wrinkles.

Cons: My sample is too light in color so until I can find a great color match in the next cool shade up I am not sure if this is a keeper as an all over face makeup or just as a concealer. Application is tricky, it seems easy to use too much but luckily it blends and wipes off very easily so I am sure that can be mastered.

This is an OK product for covering undereye circles, but I hate how obvious and cakey it looks. I have tried using primer (which does help) and the LM secret brightening powder to set it, but that just seems to make it even more apparent. The coverage and opacity is good, but IMO, it's not worth the money. I would suggest trying Physicians Formula concealer RX instead, it's a fraction of the cost.
