I wanted to love this product but I don't entirely hate it but, I have mixed feelings for this. First off the price is way too much for what it does, 2nd it was so irritating to sleep in. It makes it disgustingly sticky like you're literally putting hair gel on your face. The product stuck to my pillow and anything else that it touched. Tried removing excess thinking it would help but no so I just stuck it out through the night and kept it on. I couldn't sleep well at all with it on but when I did wash it off it made my face feel extremely smooth. Didn't really see any kinda of change in my skin or tone, just made me really soft. It felt like it took awhile for it to come up had to consistently wash it off with water to be sure it was all completely off. It's good to make your face really soft other than that... I think it's a product from Kiehl's you can pass because they have other products that do a way better job than this one.

I can't remember the last time I was so annoyed and disappointed by a product. The first time I used this I assumed I must have used too much (two pea-size drops) because it left a greasy residue on my naturally dry skin. The thick residue was so sticky, my pillow case stuck to my face an HOUR later when I went to bed! What the yuck?
I'm not one to trash a product when it's not used as directed or applied incorrectly, so I tried it again the next night. This time I used about half the amount I used the previous night. No luck; still the same oily mess. Not one to give up, I tried it a third, fourth, and fifth time... each time using less than a pea-size drop on my entire face. Ding ding! Using a teeny tiny amount finally didn't leave a disgusting amount of residue. Sadly, using such a small amount didn't seem to amount to any measureable difference in my skin either.
Summary: There are just too many excellent products on the market within this price point (and cheaper!) that provide excellent results without the sticky, oily residue to waste your time with this one. Sorry Kiehls, I am usually a fan, but this product needs some serious reformulating.

I bought this product after a horrible bout of acne, and realized I had to do something about those unsightly scars. The MUA recommended this peel, and I decided to give it a go.
First off, I love Kiehl's products. They look so apothecary-like! And furthermore, the product is dispensed through a pump, and reduces any chance of contamination.
It's supposed to be non-comodogemic so I hoped it won't break out my skin.
It's goes onto the skin, leaves it feeling a little oily at first, but sinks in soon enough. It will take awhile to sink in though. I usually put it an hour before I go to bed so that it won't go all over my pillow.
The next morning, I washed it off and I was SOLD! My skin was fresh, supple, and looked brighter! I was having disgusting acne with the pus in them, and my pimple had just popped, leaving a raw and red mark. After I put the peel on, the next morning, the pimple mark looked less red. Definitely more than I expected especially after just a day. My skin looked really moisturized as well, and I didn't put any moisturizer on top of the peel. No fine lines or taut skin that I usually get in winter.
This product is a tad expensive though, and it will probably last about 4 months, give or take?
Now on to the bad. I can definitely see how it renourishes the skin. My skin looked brighter and softer after just one use. However, although it does make my marks go down, it does so at a frustratingly slow rate. This is not what I expected for given the price. So yes, to having brighter, softer, and more moisturized skin, but I'm a little dubious on the part of smaller pores + less marks. And I'm wondering if you can get a better serum that moisturizes and renourishes at this price.
I might repurchase, if there isn't anything better in the market, but this isn't as fantastic as the hype made it out to be.

Awful product. I asked Kiehl's for something that would help promote the healing of some raw, dry patches of my skin that were kind of "open" and not taking makeup well. They gave me a sample of this and despite some skepticism, I gave it a go overnight last night. Now this morning, instead of better-healed patches, I have the same patches plus 15 fresh pimples all over my face which are now also on their way to raw. I felt like the salesperson who gave me the sample was really pushing it as well - I was skeptical that this was not the right stuff, but she wouldn't suggest anything else, so I deferred to her supposedly superior knowledge. Never again. So not only did the product completely backfire for me, I felt like the advice I got from the sales counter consisted of her totally not listening to what I actually wanted.

This has become a staple in my skincare routine since I discovered it last summer. I saw immediate improvement in my skin tone with brightness, evenness and smoothness. It is very mild and does not irritate my sensitive skin, even after using it multiple times per week. I have been using a 15% gycolic toner which seems to work well but nothing has given me the clearness or brightness in skin tone that this has. The stickiness is definitely not the most pleasant thing but is not enough to deter me from using this product, based on the great results. I hope it continues to work just as well and keep my skin clear.

I have been fortunate to acquire Over-Night Biological Peel for 20 USD (53% off the original price) because the store was closing.
My impressions are that it is a decent potent product. It did make my face soft and decrease the size of pores. The Peel gave me several breakouts on a nose-chin area and forehead and slightly aggravated apples of cheeks.

I would buy this product again, but wish it was a little cheaper! I use this a couple of times a week, but will especially use it the night before an evening out - say use it Friday night, go out Saturday. It really does smooth the skin, and gets rid of any flakiness. I also find that my make up goes on extra smoothly if I've used this the night before. It is difficult to see how much you have left but I suspect I have lots left and I've been using it for 6 months. It does say it has a 12 month shelf life but at this price (over £30) I'm going to keep on using it til I've run out, and hope that once it's over the 12 months it'll still be ok. I have lots of old acne marks and think this helps with the appearance of them. Kiehls are very generous with samples so I would advise asking for one of this product.

I really like this product minus the sticky feeling. My skin feels hydrated and soft the morning after. It doesn't sting my sensitive skin and I actually see a reduction of pore size. The bottle lasts you a while since you only need to apply the peel once a week.

I got this as a sample. I thought it was quite bad.
First off, the directions say to apply to skin and allow to dry (thereby implying that it WILL dry on the skin). Not only did this product have a very strong ammonia odor (I was imagining that I was apply ammonia-based hair color to my face!)....but the product never fully dries on the skin. It left a semi-moist film on my skin and I thought 'if I am supposed to put this on at night and then go to bed with this on my face, and this is some kind of a 'peel' with a strong ammonia odor, AND it has remained moist on my skin, this doesn't sound good'.
I was imagining that when I slept in bed, the still-moist lotion would rub on my pillow, then as I moved my face the 'peel' ingredients might get near my eyes (bad!) and/or the lotion will likely rub off on my pillowcase and mess it up, etc.
So I decided to at least leave a bit of the lotion on by simply patting my face with a kleenaxe to remove the excess liquid. And even then, there was STILL a bid of residue on my skin.
I awoke the next morning, and ZERO improvement in the appearance of my skin.
I've used other similar products (like Peter Thomas Roth's glycolic acid 10% hydrating gel) and saw immediate improvement. I also could 'feel' it doing something to my skin...working its magic.
With this Kiehls product? Nothing.

I don't love it or hate it, i'm very so so.
As a gel exfoliator it's great however MD formulations skin perfecting gel does the exact same for half the price and sinks iinto my skin much better than this.

I love, love, love Kiehls products in general and I got samples of this peel many times before I finally bit the bullet and bought it. I apply 2-3 pumps and rub it in to wash off with a warm cloth in the morning. In return I have bright, clear, plump skin. No harsh peeling because the ingredients seem to act less dramatically than other peels. I would even go as far as to say that you can use this the day OF an event and not have the crazy redness of say microdermabrasion. Staple product in my skin care routine. AA ladies or ladies with dark skin scarring fade your blemishes a little here too.

I got two free samples of this, used one during the summer and did not notice anything major so i just threw it away and left the other in the cabinet with all the other free samples, during the winter i noticed that my skin was looking dull and dry and decided to try it again, since i saw it contains urea and sodium hyaluronate. it worked like a charm got rid of my dead skin and my skin felt amazing in the morning my skin also looked more hydrated. I have normal/dehydrated skin during the winter but my skin is also intolerant to many chemicals but this did not break me out neither in in summer months nor winter. I also noticed that in the summer time i felt like it did not penetrate the skin but just felt it sitting on my face but in the winter it absorbed and my face felt comfortable, I believe that this would be perfect for people with dry skin and for those with normal/combination skin it would probably work better in the winter time. i will be buying this next winter if i do not find anything better

I bought this to help my skin get rid off some acne scars, as a product I could just slap on, and go to bed. I don't mind the stickyness at all, I actually like the way it feels on my skin - but only use 1 pump, 2 is way too much, and makes your skin super sticky!
I like the way my skin looks fresh and even in the morning, but after 2 months use (3 times a week), I see no obvious difference in my skin.
I will probably try and use it up, I like to use it in between my night cream, and this hydrates my skin as well, so I guess I could use it as a night cream.
I had such high hopes for this product, but it seems I'll have to stick to my glycolic acid and TCA peels to really renew my skin and get those scars gone.

I received a generous sample of this, and even though I hesitated at first, because I thought it might irritate my sensitive skin, and because I didn´t really like several Kiehl´s products that I tried before - I have to admit that this works quite well! It doesn´t sting or irritate in any way, and it moisturizes nicely. It does feel a bit sticky, though, but I can live with that, because it is a night treatment. In the morning, my skin is quite a bit smoother and mostly eventoned. I´m positively surprised, and would even think about getting the full-size. On the other hand - the wonderful Woobiebath MSM-Lotion and (if the slight peeling effect is important) also Nuxe Etincelante Cream get me the same results for less money. So probably I won´t.

After slapping this on before bed, I will wake up with brighter skin! I love the effects of this peel. It is really mild and I can use it once every 2 days if I remember. I replace this as my sleeping masks or sheet masks as I find this peel hydrating enough to keep my skin supple and soft. I will always look more radiant when I wake up too!
Packaging: 2. Because the cap that comes with it, doesn't covers the nozzle.
It is quite expensive but I only need a pump each time. So I guess it's quite ok.
Even though it's a peel, but fret not, it's really gentle and did not cause any peeling of skin or redness.

So, so sad that this did not work for me after reading such fabulous reviews (yeah, I read the not so fabs but ignored them). I saw the product on the Kiehl's site which has such a convincing write up that I visited my trusty reviewers in MUA for feedback. Lots of good stuff with a sprinkle of bad, so I shelled out the cash and bought a bottle. I used it Mon, Wed, Fri a week ago and am just now recovering from my disgusting breakout. Pimples and clogged pores galore!!! I literally squeezed this product out of the pores in my T-zone. As I prepped the packaging for return, I read the verbiage on the box again. Promises of great skin, non-comedogenic, etc. Non-Comed is the key for me, but, the ingredients list DIMETHICONE. My fault for not noticing this before, but dimethicone clogs my face and breaks me out horribly. I suspect it does the same for others. So beware if you've used other products with this ingredient before. It's a pore clogger for a lot of acne prone folks.

I have to be honest, the only reason I am continuing on with this bottle is because I like the way it makes my skin feel in the morning. I really don't like the feel of this product when I put it on. It is SO sticky on the skin, it's either designed to sit like that on the skin or it doesn't penetrate. I put it on just before I go to bed, but when I wake up my skin feels smooth and soft and not sticky at all. I don't think I will re-purchase it as I just hate going to bed with my skin feeling like it's sticking to the pillow.

I have always been a little scared of peels and this is my first time truying this type of product. It goes on nice and smoothe and absorbs quickly. After just 3 uses, I noticed my skin got extremely red and irritated. At first I didn't put 2 and 2 together, so continued to moisturize as usual. Then the redness turned to a scaly, flaky layer of skin. I must admit, I was mortified but as the days pasted and the flakiness and scaly dry skin came off, my skin was beautiful!! No redness, soft, smoothe, hydrated and a glow like I have never had. I even noticed a reduction of pore size! If you are willing and able to get through a few days of redness and flaking, the payoff is worth it. I called Kiehls customer care just to ask if this was normal and he said everyone responds differently, but likely the next time I use it, I will have less redness and flaking. I would recommend this product and will buy again!

I've been using this product for about a month now, and it's safe to say it is now a staple in my skincare regime. I have really sensitive skin, which by solely washing it too much would irritate. I've tried using the aspirin mask, ddf sulfur mask, sugar mask, yogurt mask, and various scrubs like the st. ives but all of them just irritated my skin greatly. They severely dried out my skin, which we all know is NOT attractive and is unappealing as acne.
Then I came across the biological peel on a Korean makeup review blog. All of my skincare products are from Asian companies because I feel like they are less harsh than American/European brands. The blog described this peel as a gentle yet effective peel, which brightens your complexion and gets rid of all the grime and dead skin that might be clogging your pores. And this is the first time a product actually delivered its statement.
Of course, too often uses can irritate the skin. I used it 3 times a week for 2 weeks and now use it only 2 times a week. Then I let it repair my skin and calm it down by using EL ANR (brown bottle). <-- this stuff is miracle in a bottle.
I love love love love it and would definitely repurchase. try it out!
