Love love love... I used this product every night and every morning.. The sales associate advised me to use this with the previous moisturizer I been using to help with oil control. I apply the Mac first let it set and then benefit moisturizer. The 2 together is awesome I've even worn the Mac alone and it works miracles also.. Great product will buy again!!!

This stuff is great! I put it on right before I apply my foundation and my make up looks gorgeous for hours. I have very oily skin, so I do have to blot with powder, but its only once and not the usual 3-4 times a day. This is a must have in my make up bag!

This does not control oiliness. I mean, when you first apply it is ok, but two hours later you can see it all back. It's neither matifing nor moisturizing, so I wouldn't buy it again. Helps to apply my foundation easier, though.

I like to use this over my regular moisturizer - I dont think it's hydrating enough on it's own, but it does well in the oil control department :)

This product wasn't designed for greasy, oily skin like it should have been.The name 'Oil Control Lotion' is very deceiving. I bought this product without even looking up a review simply because of the name. Dumb idea, yes, but who wouldn't assume that this product wouldn't eliminate all oil they have with a name like that? In my experience, MAC doesn't have sucky products but they very rarely live up to their name or description and this is a prefect example of that. This product hasn't been a waste for me. It will block just a little of my oil, and eliminates the shine. It has its uses but not to control your oil. If it were cheaper a would recommend giving it a try but for that price I'm sure there are a lot better oil control products. My advice is, be patient and do your research when it comes to looking for an oil control product. Don't get too excited like I did, and waste your money on this because of its name. Its not that great.

This is NOT a moisturizer! I feel that a lot of people have given this bad reviews because they have substituted their daily moisturizer with this and gotten bad reviews!

I tried this last year and HATED it because of the reason stated above. I had replaced my oil free moisturizer with this and got so extremely oily! I returned it immediately.

I went in again to see if there were any more products earlier this year and she recommended this. I explained to her my situation and she was like "NO NO NO! Although this is a lotion, you can't use this as a moisturizer, it's more of a treatment! You apply it right after you wash your face and follow up with your normal moisturizer." So i decided to get a sample this time, not wanting to buy it without trying and VOILA! it worked! I go 10-12 hours with no oily & my MAC Studio Fix Powder looks amazing! It stops my skin from turning red/orange and oxidizing, which was the problem I was always having!!!

And when I say I have OILY skin, I mean OILY.... I couldnt even go 30 min without the makeup sweating off my face and oxidizing

I agree with a previous reviewer that MAC makes great makeup, but when it comes to skincare (foundations included) they just don't know what they're doing. This does nothing other than smell pretty. It didn't control oil at all. It feels really nice going on, but I'll stick with Biore perfect face milk - that actually controls my HORRIBLY oily skin really well and costs the same!

I have oily skin. The oil control lotion works miracle. Non scented, very light, and skin absorbs it quick. I apply it every morning after a good face wash. I apply it on my T-zone. I wear it with and without makeup and still looks oil free. It lasts all day (over 12 hours). I would buy it again.

Very big fast waste of my £20. Bought this in february and been using it off and on. When I first started using it, I noticed within the first 2days that I had tiny pus filled bumps on my face especially around my forehead but at that time I was using lush dark angels to wash my face so I thought that was the culprit and stopped using it. There were days I'd use my regular clean and clear dual action moisturizer and notice that the mac oil control lotion really isn't doing anything for my skin. If I was back home, would have thought it was the hot weather not letting the mac OCL do it's job well but I was in the uk and it was still really cold. I came back home and was still using this product off and on. I still didn't notice any difference in the amount of oil on my face or the time with which the oils start coming through. Usually very oily within an hour and with this, I was still oily within an hour. Tried mixing it with my studio fix fluid to make a tm but noticed one day while looking in the mirror that the foundation and lotion had separated on my face! Lool! Wasn't a good look. Started using this product again last week and yea, I've noticed that it's responsible for the tiny bumps on my face. Surprised I even endured with this lotion for so long because I hate hate the scent! Love the pump though and the way it dispenses. Very sanitary. Would I purchase again, NEVER!!! It could work if you have normal skin. But even with prep + prime powder, this was a no no!

I first got the trial size of this in the summer and fell in love i use it day and night it really helps keeps my oily skin balance i think the key to this is to apply to damp skin so i wash and tone my skin then spray some fix +then apply the oil control lotion. this alone does not control my oils but rather works together with my skincare to balance my oil in my skin

Love this stuff! Does it keep me shine free all day? No, but it keeps my oil at bay a lot longer than anything else I've tried. It also keeps my skin really smooth and is a great base for make up as it it somewhat hydrating- eliminating the need for both a moisturiser and a primer if you have oily skin.

I bought this MAC oil control lotion in mid-November when I was in Las Vegas. I have been using it every day since - morning and night (so, for 2 months) and I love it. My skin looks and feels amazing and it is the first time in my life that I haven't had to fight with my skin to keep it clear. I usually at least have 1 blemish, not a lot, but usually at least 1 at all times. So far so good - absolutely clear and soft! I will definitely repurchase. I am quite surprised and impressed with the MAC skincare products. My skin is somewhat sensitive, fair, and combination - oily in the summer and dry in the winter. I usually have a constant battle of trying to balance my skin and this is my answer!

EDIT: I'm not sure why I stopped using this. Possibly b/c mid-winter/spring my skin was really dry and I needed something more? I have no idea, but I do know that I love this moisturizer and I should have never stopped using it. Lotion, I guess. You can use it alone or with a moisturizer on top of it. It doesn't really "moisturize" my skin, but it makes it feel lovely and I like the smell, too.

I love this product!

I have combination/oily skin and I tend to be SHINNY. When I started using this product ( with a water based primer) my face didn't shine like it used to. This product hasn't caused any breakouts since I started using it ( 9 months ago).

If you have oily skin, I suggest you try this to help with the shine control :)

I really enjoy this product, I apply in the morning after I wash my face, I try to use as little as possible, too much can be a bad thing. I find it works a lot better when doubled up with a primer, so apply primer on top of it. I use this product on a daily basis and I find there I have no excess acne. I really enjoy this product.

Really wanted to like this stuff just like I want to love everything from MAC. So far I've found that MAC makes really great eyeshadows, brushes, lip glosses, bronzers, blushes, and powders, but the foundations and skin care have done nothing but break me out. This stuff didn't control my oiliness and also gave me huge, painful cysts under my chin. I just got a sample of it with my foundation (which also broke me out and make me oilier than ever). I have yet to use all of it. I love MAC for certain things but not so much for their foundations and skincare.

This oil control lotion is fabulous! I bought it in the "to-go" size which was $15, so i could try it out. I am in love. I am not a very oily person but i get some oils in the t-zone area, especially on my nose! This product takes away all the oil for several hours. Don't use foundation with this though, it will clog up your pores! Just use this and a mineralized skin finish from MAC and its the perfect flawless skin duo!

This product did not make any difference in my very oily skin. I liked the texture and smell, but my skin would still get shiny within a couple of hours of applying this. MAC's Oil Control Lotion was just another product layered onto my skin, but it didn't do anything. This is an unnecessary product, not to mention the high price.

EDIT: This product made me break out, and the smell stayed on my fingers even after numerous washes. It also made my oily skin oilier.

This is a horrible product one hour after putting on this gel I am shiney
it does nothing for me actually did not see any difference in regards to reducing any oil, I had high hopes but..don't waste your money
