I agree with the poster below: this is a slutty perfume. On me it dries down to a sweet, crushed petal muskiness that I find sexy/dirty and intrusive. For a hot date- sure. For the office? Heck no. Like many patchoulli based scents, there is something..."unwashed" about this. I'm sort of embarrassed to wear it in public.

I've been wearing this perfume for a few years now, and love it. It smells more fresh when you first put it on, but my favourite part is how it smells after an hour or two - gorgeous and comforting and mmmm.
It lasts a really really long time as well. I like to spray it in the air and then the room smells like it for ages!

Ive been on a mission recently to find the sexiest, skankiest fragrances that I can find and I think this could well be in my top 5 (along with Courtesan by Worth).

Top notes: Grapefruit
Middle notes: Tuberose and Jasmine
Base notes: Musk, amber, patchouli and vanilla

It is VERY reminiscent of Narciso Rodriguez For Her, only its dirtier and more intense. If For Her was Colin Firth, then Cleopatra would be Colin Farrell- you get the picture!
On first spray, it opens with a very sharp, fresh, crisp and almost prim burst of grapefruit. At this point you would be forgiven for thinking "Ah- it has a clean and fresh innocence". You would be quite wrong. Once it dries down, Oh God.........its orgasmic.
The dry down is pure lust- I smell figs drenched in molten caramel and honey. Amber and musk writhe lustily together whilst cardamom gives pepper a lap dance. Tuberose watches and becomes corrupted. To me, the dry down is extremely skanky and it LASTS!- unlike, NR For Her, which is beautiful, but gone in a puff of air.
This is right up there with Courtesan for being one of my all time sexy, skanky fragrances. If Cleopatra really did smell like this, its no wonder her beautiful legend has lasted as long as it has.

I'm not normally a patchouli lover, but the patch here is so well-blended that instead of giving a stale/dirty smell, it reads as "hot", like a dryer or an iron. When I wear this I feel like I'm wearing my boyfriend's freshly pressed shirt, drinking water with citrus slices and cucumbers floating in it. It's warm and fresh at once.

Sillage is low and it exudes quick, subtle whiffs of "what is that delightful smell?" over the course of a few hours rather than a constant presence. One of my favorites!

I received this as in a sample vial size along with those of all of the other Tocca fragrances in the "Love Yourself" fragrance collection. I have been wearing one scent per day trying to determine, which one(s) I like the best and will post reviews on each scent.

Cleopatra is a scent that combines mainly grassy notes with certain dried spices and subtle florals. Mainly the grassy, herby notes show up on me. Out of all the ones I've tried so far in the set that I have, this one reads the strongest on me. I liked the sent, it having in its blend a favorite note of mine being patchouli, but there were many other notes that just didn't suit me, but I don't typically do too well with "grassy" scents anyways. Though the may smell good and even in some cases, as this one did, smell good on ME, it's just not my personal taste. But I think it's still a scent worth trying and is definitely worthy of love from someone who might gravitate more heavily to these "earthy" grass scents.

I love all the notes described in this fragrance and generally love soft florals. From the description on Sephora, it should've been a hit. Not so.

This went on like a cloying, sweet, spicy Oriental and stayed that way all day. I was too lazy to take it off and it made me gag all day long. Yuck. I couldn't wait to shower and change my clothes the next day but ever after that I nevertheless kept feeling like I could still smell it.

Not my thing at all, but on the upside (I guess) it has a lot of staying power.

I love this perfume. It has different stages, as I was noticing on the way home from sephora today (I sampled it in the store and I kept sniffing it on the way home.) The opening is citrusy/grapefruit, it is sweet, and not long after you get a peach nectar note along with some white florals, then a cool tuberose (I would not call it bitter, but it is not the buttery tuberose of fracas, but I think that this one fits this fragrance better, and it is still pleasant), and then after that it smells just like Narciso Rodriguez for her (patchouli, amber, "vanilla musk" notes). I love that it hast all of these elements thrown into a single perfume, and I am so glad I bought this. I will definitely purchase again when this is gone.

I just received this in the mail today, I ordered it without having smelled it before...I throw caution to the wind. its what I do. lol I have tried Tocca's "Colette" before and absolutely loved it. I am so glad I took a chance on Cleopatra, its nothing I would normally gravitate to but its earthy and comforting and I love it. I cant stop sniffing my wrist and every time I do I feel like making a nice hot cup of tea and curling up with the last book in my Sookie Stackhouse series...I feel some sort of mildly bad weather should be involved too..yes rain will do ;) its a beautifully mysterious scent and cant wait to try the others from Tocca.

I do not detect a bit of floral or a bit of citrus with this - the amber is the predominant note. It is a spicey kind of amber frag. that starts out a bit sharp but that quickly fades. I reminds of Narciso Rodriguez for her (as a reviewer below stated) but with less musk - BUT it reminds me even more of Prada (it's spicier than the Narciso Rodriguez the way that Prada is). Definitely a winter frag.

Every time I wear this scent my husband makes a comment as to how good I smell and when he gets close he inhales deeply. The similarities to Narciso Rodriguez's for her are undeniable. However, even thought these two are similar they are also different. Cleopatra is fruitier and soapier, sweeter and less musky than NR. One can call this one the summer version of NR. The bottle is stunning, very heavy glass and the cap has got the cutest design of birds which is rather retro, but I quite like it. This scent is sexy, feminine and chic. I think is more wearable than NR on a daily basis. Overall very good and I would recommend it! It has good staying power on my skin!

Rule number 1 when it comes to purchasing perfumes: never judge a fragrance by its listed notes. They must be sniffed in person, preferably on your own skin. If only I observed the rule in this instance.

As a white floral lover, I found that the top and middle notes of this fragrance were meh. Grapefruit and cucumber smells as uninspiring as I imagined. But the musky drydown is really really sexy - musk, amber, jasmine - and lingers for a long time like a great skin scent.

Unfortunately, I can't be bothered with the top and middle phases just to arrive at the drydown.

I so wanted to love this fragrance. But I don't. I was, and still am, trying to find a fragrance to replace my beloved Tranquil Breezes by Victoria's Secret that was discontinued years ago. I have NEVER found anything that smelled even remotely similar. I had read a review somewhere, maybe MUA, that said that it smelled like my long-lost fragrance, so I tried a sample. VERY disappointed. The dry down of this scent smelled like heavy, cheap, old lady perfume on me. I'm sure it smells nice on others, but my body chemistry does NOT work well with a lot of fragrances, and this falls into that catagory. I was hoping for a lighter, fruity fragrance but no such luck.

I got this in a gift set with 2 other Tocca fragrances. I really like it and as others have mentioned it is quite strong. I prefer strong fragrances though because I hate reapplying. To me this smells exactly like SJP Lovely, when applied on my skin. The main note I can smell is patchouli, so if you don't like that scent beware. It's a little spicy but still has sweetness to balance it out. It smells a lot better on skin, than in the bottle! I might repurchase once I'm done. Stella is my favorite Tocca fragrance though.

I got the little roller version of this EDP from Sephora, and it baffles me a bit. Although I'm not perfume expert, I don't think it really smells like the description on the box. The box says that the "top notes are black currant and grapefruit; middle notes are jasmine, tuberose and peach; base notes are amber, patchouli, musk and vanilla." I don't smell the grapefruit or peach at all, although I do smell the jasmine (faintly), tuberose (faintly) and the base notes.

Overall, I'd describe this as more of a lightly spicy, warm and sophisticated scent. It does get distinctly more warm and powdery as time goes on, so that may bother some people that prefer younger, more floral scents. (Like many people have pointed out, this really does smell like Sarah Jessica Parker's "Lovely", only with a little more spice to it.)

This perfume also gets MUCH stronger with time, so wear the bare minimum when you first apply it. The first time I tried it on, I added a spray to my wrists and one to my neck, and it just became overpowering a few hours later. On the bright side, the staying power is amazing!

Cleopatra starts out with a fresh burst of grapefruit sprinkled with sugar. As it dries down on the skin the Egyptian Musk (a unique mix of floral and musk) comes through. I love any scent with Egyptian Musk notes (NR for her and SJP - Lovely) if you enjoy those scents you will fall for Cleopatra. It's fresh and clean, perfect for any time of year, but particularly nice in the spring and summer due to the sparkling grapefruit. Also, I think this would be appropriate for any occasion, day or night. I think this is going to be my go to scent for a while.

Love love love this perfume!

I agree with other reviewers that it is very similar to NR For Her (another perfume I love). So if you hate perfumes like NR For Her and SJP's Lovely, steer clear of this scent!

But I love the spicy, flowery, sweet scent of this perfume. I find I can wear it through all seasons, and it's so feminine. And the bottle is absolutely gorgeous!

It's such a beautiful scent that lasts a long time. However, I have to be careful that I don't put too much on otherwise it can be too much. Just enough that I forget I have it on then every now and then get a whiff, wonder where that scent is coming from, then realize "lol omg that's me! Damn I smell good."
