Loreal Paris Translucide Lasting Luminous Makeup with Vitamin C Oil free. I bought this in Sand Beige Chamois. This is crazy Foundation is too thick to get out of bottle. I have to use a deer foot tool to get foundation out of bottle. I do like the way the foundation goes on and I do like the color however for me the foundation has no staying power. I would not buy again. Loreal needs to put it in a wide mouth jar so you can get to the product easier. Sigh usually I cant go wrong with Loreal but this does not have staying power I need and Its way hard to hard to get product out of narrow container

This was a Great foundation.....seriously Lives upto its name "Translucide LUMINOUS"..........you literally glow with this foundation, especially beautiful for fair skin. It has this translucent glowing effect.....with right amount of converage, without breaking out skin...makes ur skin look moisturised and dewy...lovely.

Soooo economical too.....pretty sad its discont. WHY DID L'OREAL discontinue this product!!! *sigh*

This was my HG foundation for YEARS. They then stopped making it. Then I moved to Chanel Teint Universal in Cameo who came fairly close to matching Translucide Nude. They then discontinuted that product. I'm still on a search for my HG foundation. Everything about Translucide was magical - like MagicBarbaro said, it was like God had shown down on you. I received so many compliments on my skin. Alas, this has not been the case since I last used it. :-( Everything is too pink or too yellow, too thick or too thin. L'oreal had a home run with this.

This had to have been the best foundation in the world. This make up had a heavenly transcendental ethereal quality. Like the white light of GOD shone on you. With translucide you radiated and lit up a room, it was THAT luminuous. I can't believe the people at L'oreal refuse to listen to people that we want a luminesce foundation, and not all this matte stuff out there. You would think they would have come up with a better version of Translucide by now. All the Loreal foundations are crap. And this foundation even put designer foundations to shame.

Lancome's Photogenic slightly resembles, but nothing ever comes close to Translucide.

Seriously, I'm slightly tearing up how they discontinued this.

Why oh why have they discontinued this line? This was my HG foundation and Infallible and True Match don't even come close. I used shade 16 in the summer and shade 15 in the winter and it matched my skin perfectly. Flawless yet glowly complexion which made my skin look amazing. The packaging was great too cause it was a pump but it was light plastic and thin (very easy to carry around for touch ups) but now L'Oreal seems to have moved over to heavy glass bottles which weigh an absolute ton and are not very handbag friendly. No matter though, cause you can only buy Translucide on Ebay now, and even so, it might be well out of date so i'm not going to even risk it. Bring it back L'Oreal!!!

UPDATE MAY 2008: After searching for another foundation to replace Translucide i have found soemthing even better!! That is Nivea Beauty Lift foundation. I would go as far to say that this is even better than translucide. It has the same consistency and gives the same kindof "glow" but is not just as light in it's coverage (more like light-medium) and can be built up easily. The colour i chose is actually nicer than Translucide 16 as well, and it blends in better with my skin. Over a primer this stuff is amazing! Def my new HG!!
UPDATE SEPT 2009: I have now been using Nivea Beauty Lift for more than a year and it is still my HG. Now i cant even remember how Translucide looked on me LOL!

I love this foundation and have been using it for years - it never feels too heavy and brightens my complexion.

Only problem is, I'm having trouble find it in the shops at the moment, anyone know if it has been discontinued?

See now, I liked this foundation. Great coverage and lots of compliments. Smells nice and I think it has SPF and vitamin C in it. Works nicely on the skin while you're wearing it so it's nice and soft after. As with all other L'Oreal stuff though, it's a teensy bit overpriced in the UK, and I'm buying from the US off Ebay at the moment and trying other stuff. I may well come back to it though. It genuinely matches my pale skin and goes on like a dream. Would highly recommend, but if you can get it cheap on Ebay after checking the shade you need in the shops then buy it now!! And as previously mentioned, and same goes for ALL L'Oreal products, do not get the stuff in your eyes, it burns like hell.

Used this ages ago..think I was about 14. Looked like a disco ball and it broke me out. Didn`t realize it then, but it was because of the bad bad bad ingredients. Gave minimum coverage and was waaay to shiny.

I have just a few things to say about this one. First and foremost *Don't Get This Stuff In Your Eyes* Its a burning you won't soon forget, I have a sneaking suspicion that that's the reason this product was discontinued. As for coverage and whatnot, its very good, somewhat heavy, but gives your skin a nice dewy glow, but will cause you to breakout if you're so inclined. For a similar result without the breakouts or burning eye-stabbing-icity (that's not even a word), I recommend you use Infallible instead (read my review for some handy hints)

I have been searching for a foundation that matches Translucide {liquid} since it was discontinued, but to no avail.I have never bought pricey foundations; my experience is with drugstore brands like Loreal, Maybelline, Cover Girl, etc. It seems as though none of those lines carry anything close. I went for Revlon Skinlights thinking it would be similar, but it just looks cakey on me. Translucide blended with my skin beautifully and gave me a luminous complexion and yet wasn't shiny. Does anyone know if this is on the market in other countries still? I would be willing to order internationally if it's out there.

Yes, another plea - please bring it back! I think my colour was pale beige (though i've forgotten). Same applies to the translucide blush gel. Both are excellent and give a radiant glow.

Love this product. I've been searching for a med/full coverage foundation forever and i think i may have found my ideal match.
Easy to apply and you can build the coverage very well. It gives my skin a gentle reflective sheen which lasts most of the day. No steaking/blotchiness at all. very pretty, dewy looking skin.
I have v.dry skin and this hasn't dried me out at all. Love it!

I no longer use this (as I've graduated to department store foundations a long time ago), but I recommend this as one of the best drugstore foundations. The color selection is especially good for people with yellow undertones. I used this when my skin was very bad, and I needed good coverage but didn't want that awful mask-like face. I applied this with my fingers and that worked pretty well. It gives a nice glow but no shimmer (a good thing.) It never irritated my skin and had a pleasant smell. However, not particularly transfer-resistant. But you can't really expect that from a med-full coverage foundation that advertises a "dewy glow." I just set this foundation with some pressed powder and it would stay put enough. I guess you can't get this in U.S. drugstores anymore, but it looks like they sell it on ebay.

UPDATE: This is now discontinued in Europe too. =(
I would be very interested to know what Translucide fans have moved on to, and how it holds up to this product.

As some other reviewers have mentioned, this is still widely available in the UK and across Europe, so it should be fairly easy to find online. I've been wearing the Nude Beige shade for 10 years and it's really my HG foundation, even after trying a lot of HE brands. The coverage is perfect for me, the light reflection is subtle enough for daytime, but gives a lovely healthy glow, and teamed with another high lighter for evenings, it's incredibly glamourous.

I find it lasts great, and with a setting of powder on top can easily go from work to evenings out withut reapplication. The packaging isn't flash, but it's hygenic and easy to use, and more sturdy than a lot of DS foundations. It's actually one of the few make up products that I rebuy on a regular basis, and I'd be just as devestated as the US girls if it was discontinued here.

Oh Translucide, how I miss you so. Like the other reviewers on here, I found this foundation to be the best I'd ever used. It made my skin look gorgeous and glowing. Why it was discontinued I don't know. I use the L'oreal Feel Naturale now, and although I like it, nothing will ever take the place of my beloved Translucide. If you're reading this L'oreal - PLEASE bring it back!!!

i picked this up yesterday from a discount cosmetics store. so far, i LOVE it. light and smooth and lovely. however, if you're looking for heavy coverage, this probably isn't for you - i'm using it more as a tinted moisturiser/base.. it makes my skin look healthy and smooth and even without caking or being glittery (i'm always wary of anything with 'luminous' or 'glow' in the title). looks wonderful with a little powder to set it.

I loved this product and can't believe it is discontinued. I have normal/combination, blemish prone skin and found that this not only gave me excellent coverage, but a healthy glow aswell. I got so many comments on how good my skin was - not on how good my foundation was - when wearing this product. People thought I actually had good skin with this foundation. Since then I have used Lancome photogenic, Mac Hypereal, Revlon diffusing tint, among others but nothing compares to translucide. If any of you know a better replacement I'd love to know! Thanks!

A nice basic product. It's hard to go wrong with L'Oreal. I was lucky to be able to find a shade that enhanced my own skin tone, which is half the battle. The consistency was a teeny bit too thick for my taste, but maybe that's what I need for the coverage.
