DO NOT BUY THIS SELF TAN! I am somewhat of a fake tan expert because I have been tanning for years, and tried EVERYTHING! Normally I only use St. Tropez mousse but I went on vacation and left it at home, so picked this up on a whim in CVS as it had been recommended in a magazine. I even got my best friends to spray me and I sprayed them, as directed. When we woke up in the morning, we could see hardly any color change and when we looked at our legs and wrists we had huge orange streaks all over us! We are fairly fair anyway, but it did nothing at all on our faces and the smell was AWFUL! We had to spend an hour talking to a lady in Sephora who have us loads of samples to try and fix our disaster.

this product is awful! i tried it on a whim because it was on sale at target (that should have been my first indacator, because it was only on sale because nobody wanted to buy it!). Anyway i got home and instantly decide to try it,i was very exited might i add, and its not all bad the spray didnt smell to terrible but it did overpower my bathroom. so i applicated it all over myself and at first it looked nice once it dried. the next morning i woke up and i was orange! i had to go to school for 2weeks in the summer wearing long sleeves and jeans-mind you i live in the south it get quiet hot, like 95,100 degrees hot. neadless to say i was sweating like a pig. my buddy evn said i need to be miss florida because my skin was the color of the florida orange. dont ever purchase this

I am very fair. I bought the medium shade and when I used it there was no change in my skin color at all. NONE! I won't buy it again.

Not a terrible product, but certainly not one will I invest in again. I live in the south, but I am fairer skinned (I have a slight tan right now regardless of the product) and was looking for a way to look like I spent some time at the beach. While the tan comes out nicely -in some spots-, the packaging of the can leaves something to be desired. It may have been my can, but foam would often squirt out during application. After using it yesterday (I've used it twice), I have dark spots on my skin from where the foam was, and if I had blended the foam in I have streaks (sort of looks like I have a geometric Vitiligo). I had someone help me apply this as well who sprayed evenly, and they did not have a heavy hand.
A little does go a long way, make sure you exfoliate prior to use, and good luck should you use the product. Give it an overall 3 for working somewhat and being affordable.

i have bought countless cans of this self tanner. i used to use fake bake bronzer but at 20 bucks a can i cant aford it. even this is kinda pricy at 10 dollars for a small can that only lasts a week or two. but i do really like it. i shave and expholate my skin before i apply. after u do it a few times you get the hang of it and i dont have any streaks or patches. its very even and a light color. not orange for me at all. i love it because its sold pretty much everywhere. cvs, wallgreens, walmart, target. and its sold between 9 to 11 dollars. so give it a try if your wanting a little color on your winter pale skin ( my case) i do a coat every few days to keep the color fresh

I have a love and hate relationship with this self tanner. I liked the color I got from using it but I hate that it comes out streaky sometimes. If you accidently spray too much in one spot, it will show up and its very noticable.
I like the color it gave me (I have naturally olive skin tone) But I wanted to get a little bit darker. This product helped me get a bit darker just it comes out streaky which I didn't like.
I'm still searching for a better product, I was kindof disapointed about it too. I bought it at target for about $9.00 it does a pretty good job, I just don't fancy the whole streaking part of it.
I might buy this product again...but I'm still searching for a better product.
But overall, it does a pretty good job..just be careful when applying it..I mean be VERY careful! aha

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good self tanner. It isn't absolutely perfect for me, so I'll probably continue to try new ones, but I definitely used up my can and would purchase it again.
This came out more natural on me and didn't make a huge difference in color. I've also used the 3 shades darker micromist spray and didn't notice a big difference between the two. I bought this one because they were out of the other. The fine spray makes it very easy and quick to use. After using a misting spray, I will never go back to gels and creams, because it takes so much less time and comes out more often on me when you don't have to rub it in. It isn't colored, which for me is a big plus because I don't want my clothes to get stained. I didn't have any issues with missing any areas. It takes me about 5 minutes to spray it all over my body (I avoid spraying a lot on trickier areas like my feet - but just enough mist falls on them anyway) and then 5-10 minutes to dry.
I'm not sure about the color developing within a couple of hours, but I usually apply it at night and see my color in the morning. I haven't used any self tanners with no scent at all, but this one is less strong than many others I've used. While spraying, it just has a scent that I assume is added to the spray to make it smell nice. As the tan develops, it gets a slight typical self tanner smell, but it isn't bad at all. I'd imagine if you apply heavier coats, you might notice it more than a lighter coat. If it ever was too much for me, I'd just take a light shower (no scrubbing though!). I've tossed out so many self tanners because they were too smelly and this is one of the few I can tolerate. I think Ocean Potion Ever Glow is another good one for little to no smell, but it's a gradual tanning lotion and not a full on self tanner.
Looking back at photos when I used it regularly, my skin looked really nice and I had a nice glow. I'm very fair naturally and this never made me look orange. The only time I had streaking was when shaving my legs after applying, which would be the case for ALL self tanners. I believe I paid around $10 for a can at the grocery store.

This stuff is great for the face, back of the hands and feet but not so much on the body. I use diff products for diff areas because some just work better on diff body parts!
I am VERY fair and need to tan gradually in order for it to look natural.
This product is great for touch-ups and places on the body where you don't want a lot of build-up.

So this review is kind of tricky to write. I bought this product (only it was the Deep 3 shades darker version) at a CVS yesterday because they were out of the L' oreal Sublime airbrush spray I like. This product was about three dollars more, which is crazy because the L'oreal spray is already $10.99, which I think is a bit pricey. Anyway, I put this on at about 6pm last night. I watched some Youtube tutorials about how to apply this one and such. Most of them recommended doing two coats, so I did. I was up until at least 2am..and I didn't see any color changes. I was disappointed in this fact, especially since the package said the tan would develop in 2-4 hours. However, I did wake up this morning with a slight color change. I am tanner, for sure, but I would not classify what I have as three shades darker than my previous color. Especially since I applied two very generous coats. There was no streaking at all, which was great, and the smell was not horrible at all. It's your usual aerosal, powdery smell you get with a can of spray tan. The product didn't seem to work as well on my face though, even though I exfoliated that area extra well before hand. I recommend, as with as with all self tanners, to apply lotion to elbows, knees, and ankles before applying this product. Do so, and you with have no problems as long as you keep the can at LEAST 6in away while spraying and you always keep the can in constant motion. I think I will stick to the L'oreal spray just because the color develops faster, and its cheaper, and I get a deeper tan. If you have medium skin, this isn't going to give you super dark results so you have to keep that in mind. But if you are just wanting a nice, glow to your skin, this is great!

I love this self tanner! It isn't smelly at all like most tanners, and for an inexpensive one it is very surprising! It almost had a crisp floral smell. The product comes out very fine and colorless, which is ok. I followed some other reviewers advice and did a quick rub-down to make sure nothing would be streaky. I also used a very emolient moisturizer first. Also the tan last for a week with one application and the color was not orangey. I had people asking me if I just got back from vacay. Also I got about 4 VERY VERY generous applications from one can. I love this product!

This is my favorite sunless tanner. I get super dark and nobody can guess that it isn't real. Warning: YOU WILL SMELL AWFUL, the only downside. It has a very starchy smell to it. I would also recommend reapplying it if you get in a pool. The chlorine slightly messes with the color. Sunless tanners aren't completely perfected. This is the best you're going to get. It's kind of expensive thought; they could at least make the can bigger.

I've been using this since August and I love it! It only streaks if you do it wrong. Make sure you know how to use self tanners by yourself. Make sure you hold it 6-10 inches away!!!!!! That's my bast advice. My face would look noticeably tanner and I would use this a lot for school (usually only on face). It's great :D <3

I have very fair skin and was worried about medium being orange and fake looking but I am SO GLAD I gave this a try. I have a beautiful natural glow thanks to this stuff, and I loooove it. The micromist is very fine and I spray even strokes as far from my body as my arm can reach. I got a good deal (2 for $20) saving 6 dollars hence the better price rating. In the past I have used a neutrogena sunless tanner (years ago) which smelled horrific and left horrible streaks and was bright orange. This, however, looks like a beautiful natural glow. Others have said stuff about the smell but I didn't think it was bad. After a few hours there is the distinct self tanner smell on your skin but I have yet to come across a self-tanner that doesn't do that. The best part is I don't have orange palms, and do this fast in the morning. Also, works great on my face, even under my tinted moisturizer. : ) I would give the packaging quality a higher rating if the spray nozzle were easer to press because after a while you get kind of tired pushing it down.

FOR MY FACE, I love this product. I have acne, and acne scars and marks and all that.
all the self tanners I've bought, except for this one, were tinted and had bronzers in them.
they were NOT good for acne prone skin. the bronzer would settle into dry patches of skin, and I would have brown spots all over my face, it looked absolutely horrible.
since this tanner doesn't have a bronzer, it tans just my skin and leaves my breakouts alone.
plus, it doesn't cause me to break out more.
now on to the bad. because there's no bronzer in it, you can't see where you're applying it. that's why I don't think it's very good for the body. plus, this stuff runs out FAST when you apply it over your whole body..
a few years ago I bought this in 3 shades darker, and ended up buying three bottles in probably a month or two.
(which we all know is ridiculous for self tanner. I have a bottle of st. moriz mousse that's lasted me for 6 - 8 months. although it's not the only bottle of tanner I use consistently, you still get my point.)
also, the packaging sucks. a few years ago when I bought three bottles of this, the third bottle I bought was defective, and I absolutely couldn't get a hint of product out of it.
after lots of time playing with it, I can't remember if I finally got product out, or if I ended up just throwing it away. I'm leaning toward the second one.
my newest bottle, which is the one i'm reviewing now in 2 shades darker, is still hard to get the product out of. I have to push it down a certain way to easily get it out. but it's no nuisance for me, since I only have to spray it into my hands a couple times and then apply it to my face. I imagine the packaging would be annoying though, when applying to the whole body.
the color is a little orange. but it's nothing that some foundation doesn't take care of, it blends it and makes it look as non-orange, and brown tan as my body.
(from better self tanners, of course.)
It's not a very dark tan either. normally what I do is apply it in the morning/afternoon after I wash and moisturize my face (after letting my moisturizer soak in.) and then again that night, same thing. then I have a darker tan by the next day.
last but not least, the smell is bad. it doesn't bother me, but it's definitely your classic chemically bug spray-y self tanner scent.
although half this review I was putting down the product, I still gave it 4 lippies. that's just how much I love it for my face!

I purchased this spray after reading a review from a few of the ladies right here on MakeupAlley. As I am a WOC (woman of color) I wasn't expecting to see a world of color on my skin. However, I was seeking out a spray that could give me a sun-kissed "glowy" look. I sprayed the mist on my legs, arms, back, and chest. End result= AMAZING!! I sprayed myself right after I came out the shower to make sure that any results I experience are a direct result of the spray and not lotion. I sprayed every part of myself two times over to get full effects because at first you don't really notice anything...especially on skin as dark as mine. After all the smoke lifts from spraying myself twice, the results are awesome!! I looked like I rub myself down with a lightbulb! lol! My skin glowed, and not only for the first day, but for days and days afterward. Of course, with each day that you shower you'll see color washing off in your bathwater, but that is to be expected. I've purchased bottles and bottles of this stuff and I used it religiously this summer...especially on my legs because it made it look awesome!!

I liked the application process. It was super quick and the product dried extremely quickly. The smell is better than most self tanners and I appreciate that. I used the 3 shades darker kind, I am a medium/fair tone and this stuff barely delivered any color. Disappointing.
EDIT*** Tried again. I am now orange and blotchy. I thought I had covered myself with it pretty well. The first time I applied I rubbed it in, this time I did not rub it in... So If I rub in, no color. If I don't I am orange... Great.

I purchased this product to use on my face because I tan, but try avoid tanning my face so it is a lot lighter than the rest of my body. I picked this up because it said oil and alcohol free so it wouldn't burn my face or clog my pores. The spray can makes application super easy because it comes out light, not gooey like the lotions and I was able to just apply with a makeup sponge on my face. All was good until the color developed... it was SUPER ORANGE :(

I did not like the color. I was not liberal w/ the product b/c I didn't want an orange tint but that is what it gave me. I did like the spray idea but it wasn't even and I tried this product three times to make sure it was not an "operator error" (LOL) - maybe if you are medium skin toned already then you might like this (?) I hated the smell and color for my fair peach skintone.

um I think it's crap. I've used a lot of different self tanners and sprays and lotions and this one is by far the worst of the bunch. the cloud of fumes is gross and makes it hard to get an even application in your arms and neck and chest because well, you have to look away to not inhale !!! I ended up all splotchy all over my arms and legs even though as I said, I've worked with these before so I do know what I'm doing it. I think I'm going to stick to lotions because it's just easier for me. I would not recommend it to my friends and I'd never use it again. it's crap !! so I gave it one because that's the lowest I can do, otherwise it'd be a big fat ZERO
