I actually like this much to my surprise especially the waterproof side.I like this more than the original volume express mascara by maybelline and that one 11 $.This isn't waterproof or water resistant in the slightest but it gives my amazing length and curl.I plan on buying another when this one runs out.

Horrible. I never seen such a drying mascara ever.
The first time i opened it, I felt as if I had this mascara for years and ran out of product.
I basically bought a mascara wand since nothing actually went on my lashes.
I now use the brush when I take a break with mascara and apply vaseline on my lashes instead.

This mascara was okay I guess. I only used it on my bottom lashes . I love this mascara sooooo much when it comes not dried out. But seriously I brought 4 of these and only 1 didnt come dried up and crusty. So i wont repurchase just because i just have to take it back anyway because i cant seem to get one that isnt dried up.

I do not like this mascara at all. Its drying, goopy, doesnt do much, & is basically awful.

Love the regular side (till it dried out). Hate the waterproof side.
At first it was so goopy and etc. (Like most mascaras I use) and it clumped so much! However, after a few uses and using a spoolie to get rid of the clumps, it's fine. Great for natural looks (darkens, not dramatic lengthening or volumizing).
It washes off so easily with soap and water, so that's a plus. This mascara takes some effort to look good, so if you're into the whole "natural lashes" look, this is for you.
Personally, I rather go and try other mascaras so I doubt I will be repurchasing it.

For me, this mascara was awful. The regular side was dry and flaky on the first usage, and the waterproof was SOOOO droopy and clumpy, but dry as well at the same time. It was so bad that I never put the waterproof one on my lashes. As for the regular, apart from the flakiness, it looked like nothing had happened. It didn't even look like I was wearing mascara. In my opinion, don't waste your dollar on it.

I only give this 3 stars & I would purchase this again because it's so.... basic. The only reason I would repurchase this is because it's $1 - It doesn't clump, it doesn't thicken & it doesn't lengthen (much) - it just coats. It's ok for a natural look and just want your lashes coated.
I have long lashes already so basic black lashes don't bug me.
It's not my MAIN mascara, but it's good for those "just in case" reasons.

Oh gosh, I hated this thing! For the price, it's not terrible. I like the colour and how easily it goes one. It's pretty awesome in that my lashes felt soft and touchable after wearing it. The smell is pretty bad, but not as terrible as some others, but the worst thing is the flaking. I have a habit of rubbing my eyes, which I try hard not to do when I'm wearing eye makeup, but I forgot and rubbed one eye. So much of it flaked right off! It got everywhere and was incredibly gross. It doesn't lengthen or thicken very well, either.

Both of the mascaras are good, and it's great to have the advantage of being able to have both a regular and a waterproof mascara in one!! The result is fine, even if it doesn't really give you amazing lashes, it really makes them look gorgeous.

Its soo gross thick and chunky i regret buying this along w/the set that it came in. it really is cheap quality, sucks.

I read the reviews for this mascara and I honestly think it depends on the tube of mascara you get. I ordered a few of these during their 60% off sale. I figured I wouldn't be too sad if I only paid 40 cents for a mascara. The waterproof end is pretty decent! I don't like paying a lot for waterproof mascara since I don't use it very often (vacations at beaches and pools and such). I gave a tube to a friend and she said she got a clumpy one, while my tube was just fine.
So I think it depends which one they put in your package, because I thought it was ok, while others got lumpy tubes...
It's a toss up!

HATE this mascara. It flakes and clumps like crazy. It was cheap so no loss to me.

I actually really like this mascara. It's one of the few that doesn't flake with either the regular or waterproof. It doesn't do a whole lot for my lashes...a bit of length and volume...so I like to wear it for a bit of a "natural" look.
I bought it in brown which pretty much looks black on my lashes.
I love the price but it's not anything extremely special.

I wore this once and within an hour I got panda eyes because it smudges, clumps and flakes. A teacher actually came up to me and asked me if I had some sort of bacteria infection and said that I should go home before I infect other children.
I wish 0/5 was an option.

So far I've only tried the waterproof side of this. I've kind of steered clear of the regular side because I know how $1 regular mascara can be and I seriously doubt E.L.F. can charm their way out of that one with their $1 mascara. However, I have really been impressed by the waterproof mascara. I've tried much more expensive ones and the majority of them have ran at least a little. But one day I was wearing this and had a bad day where I was crying a bunch all day. By the end of the day there was just a mere ghost of a smudge becoming apparent below my eyes. I mean, I had to get up close in the mirror to really see it. Color me impressed! I didn't think a $1 waterproof mascara could be that good... I just figured it would hold up more like a good regular mascara than the regular mascara side would.
The downside is that like most cheap waterproof mascaras, this one is slightly clumpy, doesn't do much for length, and makes your eyelashes as hard as can be which makes them prone to breakage. If you know what you're doing though it's nothing that will stop you. I just apply a few coats to the base to work up the volume without adding clumps to the ends of my lashes, then very gently stroke the brush along the tips to color them and add as much length as possible. Next I follow up with an eyelash wand to clear up any clumps and better separate the lashes.
I still prefer the mineral mascara which provides a much smoother and natural like coat, but I'm definitely going to start using this stuff when I suspect it may be a rainy day or something. It's fantastic at staying put.

I bought this product when I first started out with makeup and I didn't have anything to compare it to other than clear mascara. I HATED this when I bought it and that's saying a lot since I was just a newbie with mascara. (I'm kind of a mascara snob now.) It flakes so much and it did the same thing as clear mascara except make my eyelashes black. It doesn't length or volumize at all. I was really disappointed in this because I wanted to like it. This is probably the worst ELF product all their other products are good.
This also went bad really fast and again I was a newbie to makeup and even I could tell it was bad.

I bought this mascara at Urban Plant, since i'm not aloud to shop online. This product is okay in my opinion, lengths my lashes, just a tiny bit, doesn't clump and gives no volume. But it's super cheap. I got this for only 3 dollars. I think it's usable but I hate the packaging. When i'm finshed using the mascara and i want to put the brush back the left over/extra mascara squishes out while i put in the brush, so i have to wipe it everytime. But I won't get this it again. I'd rather spend an extra 10 dollars to buy something more. =)

- Dirt cheap
- That's kind of it.
Not a good buy. Oh well. I already have black lashes so black mascara is kind of redundant. (I use CG's clear mascara)

Not at all impressed with this mascara,it smudges easily and is very flaky and crumbly. The brush isnt much good either, save your money and buy something else.

The regular mascara flakes a lot! It smudges and flakes way too easily. I haven't tried the waterproof side yet but wouldn't want to. I don't know what to do with out now bc throwing it out would be such a waste!
