I own two Chanel quads, and this one is definitely the worse of the two. The colours in the pan are gorgeous, but when applied, the pigmentation is RUBBISH. The two bottom shades are a nightmare to try and get intensity from- all you get is shimmer! And I've tried loads of different brushes and primers! The darkest colour is the only one with half-decent pigment, and even then it's a joke; it comes out darker on the lid, but without the intense purple colour. The lavender-white shade is definitely pretty, and I use it as a highlighter in the inner corners and on the cheekbones.
I paid AUD$100 for this, and I'm kicking myself for spending so much money on the label. I daresay that any reviewers who claim this palette is ~*~wonderful~*~ are either lying to themselves, probably in denial that they dropped serious cash on a very crappy quad, or they don't know what eyeshadow quality should be. Save your money, and buy Dior/YSL/MAC eyeshadows instead!

This was the quad used in my bridal make-up. For referance, I have light-medium skin, rosy cheeks, hazel eyes. This quad is a must for hazel eyes, since it highlights yellow and green in the iris.

I didn't expect my first chanel quad to be such a disappointment. Colors do look beautiful but pigmentation is a joke. They hardly show up on my NW10 skin- except the dark one which is the one I like the least... And even if I manage to pack the color till the time I come back home I hardly can tell there is still any color left. Shimmer is beautiful in there and packaging looks very luxurious, it would be such a winner if I could make it work. But for now, all I can say is it doesn't worth the price, unfortunately...
Update: Well, one extra lipstick from me...
I rediscovered this quad recently after 2-3 years. Applied TFSI and packed the eye shadows with 239 brush moistened with Fix+
Much better, and finally it stayed put for hours! Sure, you won't get a super pigmented opaque smokey eye but an ethereal feminine elegantly sparkly eye make up.
It's really pretty but I'm not sure I would buy again

I love this quad and I am MAC NW45 aand it looks gorgeous,,it is not heavy in color but like a previous reviewer stated it is a wash. I apply the UDPP on my lid before hand and the color is beautiful, they all wear together well I admit.. It is great!!

Gorgeous colors for my pale complexion and hazel eyes. The colors work together exceptionally well, and as is usual for Chanel, the payoff is quite subtle. These are washes of color, not the opaque disco look I used to wear out clubbing back when I could stay up all night without killing myself. My only slight gripe is that the lightest shade, a whitened pinkish lavender, is a bit too shimmery. I prefer to wear shimmer close to my eyes, if at all, rather than as a wash over the lid. This is a very classy way to wear purple.

I purchased this from the Fall 2011 Collection. I love it! The dark purple liner is great, but my favorite color is the purple/brown/gold duochrome (bottom right color). This color is versatile and as douchomes do appears a different color per each angle you view it. The pigmentation is good, easily blendable and all colors work well together. I took off 1 lippie for the price- $57 is expensive but I figure this palette can transcend seasons and I'll get a lot of wear out of it. I skipped the Taupe Stylo - already have plenty of plummy e/l. On the whole Vanites is a beautiful palette and reaffirms my opinion that Chanel has the best eyeshadows consistently.

Would the reviews be as high for this quad if a drugstore brand released it? I have to wonder. As a huge fan of MAC, i tend to stick to what i know but i figured it was time to throw a few new brands into the mix.
I really wasn't impressed with this little rock hard, low pigmented quad at all and i certainly didn't pay to throw the Chanel logo around. I enjoy good quality in my cosmetics and i'm afraid it has put me off buying any more of their face products. I think i'll stick to their fragrances and go back 2 MAC ;)

I was so glad that I only spent $8 on this product. I was using a gift certificate and so glad that I didn't waste a ton of money on this. I was really disapointed with this quad. The colors are not very vibrant. I have to basically scrape the colors out of the pan in order to get color. I will definetly stick to Dior colors if I want to go high end. Will never get this again.

It's a pretty quad, with beautiful variations of purple shades. I had to buy it when I saw a picture of Natalie Portman wearing this to an award show. Although pretty, it's not pigmented enough for night wear. I had this quad for awhile, gave it a couple of tries, but it was just not that dark. I gave up & purchased another color, and used this to blend in some purple. If one is looking for a subtle classy purple, this quad would work. If one is looking for dramatic night time wear, this is not for you. Go to Dior.

I don't have much experience with eyeshadows, but I don't really like this one... It's difficult to build, looks pale and makes me look rather ghostly and washed out. It blends well though, so if you don't want a very highly pigmented purple eyeshadow this is for you.

I usually like Chanel eyeshadows, but this particular palette does not work for me. The colours are very shimmery and they do not have a lot of pigmentation. I end up with a lot of shimmer/sparkle and I cannot build up the colour. This palette also make my eyes look tired instead oif brighten them up (an effect that I do not get with other purple eyeshadows).
The only colour I ended up using is the dark purple. But far too expensive for one colour!

Very beautiful colours, I use them with Chane's Stylo waterproof in Violin. Hold for 7 hours, don't give that much shimmer, rather subtle colour:) I tried all the colours, they blend well, my friend who has grey eyes swears by this quad. And it really suits her well:) As for me, when I apply them my green eyes look like greener, very strange, but I like the effect!

I always had a tough time picking up enough pigment on my Chanel eyeshadows until a very wise woman on another site told me about the MAC 242 brush. Give that one a try, I think you'll be happy with the results!

I have been trying to get this to work for the past year. Because it is so expensive, and I have lost my receipt, I have a mission to make it work.
The colors are all beautiful to look at in the palette. However, they are all very sheer and shimmery, and they do not apply as smoothly as other Chanel single eye shadows or duos. I normally use brushes to apply shadows, and none of them showed up well. I even tried to use Mac 239 (?) to jam pack the colors, then glitter and shadows just fell all over my face. And I finally tried to use the sponge applicators that came with the palette, then the result is not too bad. I would expect a better quality in that price range. This is not the first Chanel quad that I am disappointed with. Maybe I'll stay with the singles. My Shu Ueruma and Bobbi Brown eye shadows never run me down.

Oh dear. I am forming an obsession with Chanel quads. This quad has beautiful colours which go together extremely well. It is also rather flexible in that you can use all colours for a smokey-eye look for night, and then use the lighter colours in the daytime. Not too pigmented (apart from the darkest shade) but absolutely gorgeous.

I like these colors very much, it is on of my three boxes of Chanel quad shadows. However, I cannot really justify the pricetag. The shadows are very beautiful on the eyes, giving a really even satiny shimmer. They are not very pigmented, with the exception of the darker color, and are quite translucent, providing an even layer of shimmery color.
Not sure that I would buy them again though... you can get an almost identical effect with shadows like Ruby Rose for just a fraction of the price

I love all of the Chanel eyeshadow. It is expensive, lucky me I only buy Chanel at the duty free.
I love these shades, I normally hate purple eyeshadow. And i've purchased plenty from make, they just dont look right.
But these shades are stunning, I only really wear this at night and with my brown eyes they really make my eyes pop, I can use all the colours to make a smokey eyeshadow or I just use the bottom two for a less intense eyeshadow. And you can actually use the applicator to apply the colours.
I have several Chanel quads and havent run out of any of them, but if I do i will repurchase this.

This is an amazing eye shadow. Before I purchased this I really didn't see the value at spending a lot of money on eye shadows. It kind of grips to your eye and never feathers away from where you apply it. It's almost chalky in it's grip, but feels lovely on your lids.
The colour of set is really cool and I feel like I can create a bunch of different looks from day sparkly to dramatic smoky eyes. This is a great set for green eyes as it really makes your eyes light up.
I still can't get over the price of it, but if you're like me and buying a very limited amount of makeup, then quality is the way to go. It makes me want to wear it as I feel comfortable and prettier in it.

You'll never go wrong with this e/s.It can go so sheer and also dramatic and glamour...Oh so much I love this even words can't describe it LOL :)...ok so it has 4 nice colours,it can work conjugated one another...or alone....you can play with this in many ways!so so so many ways!you can experiment all the way you like it...and the darkest shade might be used as an eyeliner also!so as it's expensive but it's very nice and useful, and worth every penny....It doesn't crease, and the violet doesn't have a red hint on it...so don't worry you wont get the sick-eyed effect...it's just sooo nice..believe me...I love many other eyeshadow such as mac,etc...but no other plummy or violet combo which is so nice like this....buildable....and so many ways to wear this....!well,I told you before, that no words could describe this....this is so much I love it....and 1 more thing...believe me,i bought this 3 years ago.I wear this almost everyday....and it's still half of it....so it's not that exoensive though....and it still fresh...just like the first time I buy it....LOVE IT!
