LOVE this eyeshadow and I'm also very sad that it's D/C! A friend of mine had the color Orb, which is my favorite. It looks like DIRT in the container and honestly I thought it would just look like a mess, but it goes on beautifully. It's a shimmery silvery taupe color. It's sheer, but buildable. If I apply it with a wet brush, it gets more shimmery. It's a great color I never get tired of. I bought this on eBay and was willing to pay more for it since I liked it so much. Later on I ended up finding it at Dollar Tree as well (but not anymore) and I bought every container of Orb they had. I have about 5 of them as backups, so I hope they last! So far I haven't even finished one, so they seem to last quite a long time. I also think these are comparable to MAC pigments or any of the loose mineral eyeshadows, as well as the Loreal Illumination eye shadow (which I believe was also D/C). If you come across them, get them! I'd rate them off the charts if I could (this and my Micabella mineral shadows are my favorite, but Micabella are much more pricey).

Awww, man, why do these have to be DC'd? I just found out about them! I saw a ton of these at my local Dollar Tree, but there seemed to be only one color, so I grabbed one. It was Gunsmoke. It looks gray in the tub, but it goes on a very pretty silver. The powder quality is awesome, it's soft and fine, yet somehow dense enough to be easy to work with. I only got a bit of fallout during application, and due to the color it was easily fixed. A wonderful eyeshadow, I wish I had more. :(

I have these colors:

Raisin Cane - A beautiful duochrome plum-deep brown. A very unusual and pretty shade

Night Fever - Amazing brigt, sapphire blue, reminds me of Milani's Blue Ice

The pigmentation is okay. Shows up beautifully, but not as pigmented as more recent L'Oreal products. These blend like a dream! I love to blend Night Fever with a bright purple for that amazing jeweltone look.

I bought this eye shadow to complete this purple-pink look I was planning on doing. It's almost identical to the Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush loose powder eyeshadows-- which I prefer-- but I think this is a dollar or two cheaper. It goes on pretty smoothly. I really like the loose powders as opposed to pressed. The pink is a very pretty color, but I don't know if I would like it enough to buy it a second time. I'm not even sure I'll finish it. Pink isn't my favorite color for my hazel eyes. Overall, it's pretty okay.

I absolutely love these. Beauty Queen was a staple in my make up routine for the longest time, then I ran out and haven't been able to get more. If I would have known they'd be so hard to get I would have bought ten of them. the texture is so amazing and they have the best color pay off. I definitely recommend these to anyone who can locate them.

I first received Raisin' Cane as a throw in from a swap and I fell in love with the texture and color of it. Afterwards I read on the reviews that they were discontinued and I was so sad!! So I did the next best thing, I looked into swapping for them!! Well I was able to get 6 of them and in the process of getting 2 more colors. I love these e/s!! They are finely milled, comes in really cute little jars and the colors are so beautiful. My personal favorites so far are Night Fever, Diva Down, and Five Alarm. I read that some people have found these at Dollar Stores, but when I tried I had no luck. But these are wonderful shadows!!

I just don't know what to do now that these are discontinued. The only two eyeshadows that I ever used was this and the roller eyeshadow from Maybelline and they discontinued that too. I haven't been able to find loose powder shadow like these since. GRRR!

wow i had been looking for these for years, and found out they were dc'd. Then I came upon them at the dollar store today. They didn't look impressive in the tub, so i only picked up orb and flash lighting. However, once i opened them and put them on WOW! these are beautiful colors and so sparkly. Comparible to many high end brands....They had a few more colors at the dollar store so I'm definately going back to stock up on these. jackpot!

I would if they hadn't been dc'd. These are amazing shadows! Strong colors, vibrant, more soft as apposed to mac pigments, I truely wish they would bring these back, until then I am on my quest to own as many as I can!

Lovely!

I loved these. The little jars are cute and the product itself is like a cheaper version of MAC pigments. Unfortunately, they've been discontinued, and any that I find are marked up quite a bit, so I probably won't buy any more. I may try the new L'Oreal loose shadows, but they're not getting great reviews...

OMG WHY DID L'OREAL DISCONTINUE THESE?! I have OTL in Orb and the color is BEAUTIFUL! It's like a silvery taupe color, and can be both elegant and casual! I like to use a little bit in the corner of my eyes for a subtle dewy look. The consistency is VERY smooth, not chunky at all. It's my favorite color, a little goes a looooong way, and there's just so much powder in the little plastic container. I got it on sale at Long's on clearance, probably right before they got discontinued. =( I'm just sad that I didn't get more! I think I'll have to search around on eBay for more of these... or maybe L'Oreal will realize the error of their ways and return them to the shelves! *crosses fingers*

Alright, I thought it was about time I shared my OTL "knowledge" with the MUA community. I own 22 of these to date, and I love them all. Note to future OTL buyers: Steer clear of Fantasized - it is the color of your skin, but chalky, matte, bleck! Run away! :) All OTLs listed are, as the name states, shimmery. :) Here's the mega list:
Beachy Keen - A deep tan (like Coco Beach and Tan MAC pigments mixed together). Color intensifies when wet.
Beauty Queen - Light lavender color, which shimmer gold in the light. Gold brightens when wet.
Bronze Nude - An `old gold' color. When wet, colors turns more bronze.
Diva Down - Bright teal/deep aquamarine, with tiny gold flecks. Intensifies with moisture - turns deeper in color, and sheens light green.
Dusky Shimmer - A beautiful, rosy pink with tiny flecks of silver microglitter. Doesn't work well wet.
Finch Kiss - Deep mauve rose color with less coral tones than Five Alarm. Works great wet - color deepens.
Five Alarm - Although the name sounds like it would be a bright red crazy color, this is actually a deep pink with a bit of coral. Really nice color for lips, eyes, cheeks. Turns more coral when wet.
Flash Light - A light, sheer gold with the tiniest gold flecks of microglitter. Becomes a full gold layer on skin when wet.
Future Gold - Vivid, full coverage gold with a hint of bronze. Coverage is great when wet - color stays the same.
Gold Essence - Sheer with tiny microscopic gold glitter flecks. Subtle, and gorgeous! Does not work well wet.
Gold Thrush - Vivid gold with tiny gold glitters.
Gunsmoke - A gunmetal silver/grey. Because of the shimmer, it's more silver though. Loses shimmer when wet.
Iridescence - What I imagine Sugar Coated would be like. Reminds me of MAC Frost. White shimmer. Nice, versatile.
Lovey Dovey - Smoky, dark purple with grey tones and gold sheen. Gold sheen dissolves when wet, but is still lovely.
Mystified - Baby pink with lavender tones. Turns to a truer pink when wet. Slightly more chalky than other OTLs.
Native Spice - A lovely light brown with itty bitty gold flecks on top. Great smoky brown develops when wet.
Night Fever - A deep navy blue with sheen purple when wet.
Orb - Silver taupe. Silver intensifies when wet.
Pearl Essense - Texture like Mystified. A pale baby blue. When wet, coverage is better, and turns more lavender/silver.
Raisin' Cane - Smoky purple/grey shimmer.
Tart - Pale minty green with a slight gold tones. Intensifies when wet.
Vintage - A deep maroon/purple, which turns a bit more maroon/brown when wet.

I really love all these OTLs, and can't wait to try more. I lot of people complain about the packaging, and it does take a little careful manuevering. However, I don't really believe there is a better way to package these loose pigment powders. A sifter top wouldn't work well, because you want to be able to dip your brush in and tap off. I don't mind the jars, actually. Because these are discontinued, get 'em while you can! They're wonderful!

I have been using these pigments since they first came out and I absolutely adore them. I was heartbroken when they were discontinued, but I love them so much that I have been buying them on Ebay. Beauty Queen, Mystified, and Orb are my favorites (and the only ones I continue to buy). Everything else about them has certainly already been said, so I just wanted to add my $0.02.

these are hands down my favorite eyeshadows! too bad i discovered them after loreal discontinued them (damn them!). i've managed to collect about 20 in the past few months... and i just can't get over how gorgeous and versatile these are. there are a few bad apples (eg mesmerized) but most of the colors are beautiful and very highly pigmented. very silky texture, gorgeous shimmery finish, and great staying power (w/ base). i also love using these wet for super-intense metallic looks. if you can get your hands on these, don't hesitate! (esp sparkling mist, raisin cane, and future gold)

I totally adore OTLs! Never would've taken a second look at anything from L'Oreal because of past bad experiences with other products, but thanks to MUA, I now own 12 of these babies and love them! My favorites are Diva Down, Night Fever, Flashlight, and Tart. These are fabulous products for the price. As for the messiness issue-- I tap the jar's bottom flat on my vanity table several times before opening it, and use the product left on the upturned top. I have never had problems with getting the powder all over the place using this method. Would repurchase if needed which is unlikely given the tiny amount I use each time, plus they stopped making these, drat :( Whatever possessed L'Oreal to discontinue OTLs?!!!

These are great! They are less vivid than the-infamous-MAC pigments, you can tell that they have less color, but they can definitely hold their own! The best thing about them is that they are/were super, super cheap! The worst thing is that, since they have been discontinued, it looks like they are sold in every other part of the country than where I am!! So unfair!!

I love these so much. There are many beautiful colors in the line and one pot will last forever. Unfortunately, they'll have to last forever as they've been discontinued. You can still get them, and in fact they're clearance priced so you can stock up (guilty). My favorite colors are Diva Down (aqua),Flash Light (light gold),Hyper Space (brown Gold),and Sugar Coated (white). Since these are loose powders they can be a bit messy, but applying them wet will cut down on that (it will also make the color more intense).I will miss these, but I plan to build a surplus :-)

Awww, why do these have to be discontinued?? I was having so much fun collecting them! There are some duds in the line, but for the most part these are fun to play around with and for a drugstore item, I think their quality it top notch. Instead of reviewing every one individually, I thought I might list all the ones I could (to benefit those like me who like to read lists! and plan accordingly...)

In no particular order:
~ Gold Essence: a golden gleam/shimmer
~ Sugar Coated: pure white shimmer
~ Shimmer Shell: slight off white/beige. Not very gleamy or exciting.
~ Opal Essence: silvery taupe with a hint of lavender
~ Beauty Queen: grey lavender with gold iridescence
~ Raisin Cane: bronzed plum, pinky opalescence
~ Bronze Nude: very pretty peachy bronze
~ Future Gold: more intense peachy bronze. More metallic/warm/copery than Bronze Nude
~ Hyper Space: slight olivey bronze/brass gold. Slight metallic.
~ Copper Metal: metallic orangey copper
~ Flash Light: sheer yellow gold, more of a subtle shimmer
~ Orb: light silvery taupe, slightly more brown, less silver than Opal Essence
~ Airy Assure: sheer, muted pastel aqua. Very subtle shimmer.
~ Tart: yellowed kiwi green with mint shimmer
~ Metallic Jade: more yellow than Tart. Green apple/lime
~ Diva Down: intense deep teal shimmer
~ Night Fever: royal/navy blue shimmer
~ Dusky Shimmer: warm burnt rose with gold shimmer (similar to Five Alarm??)
~ Mystified: light pink with pink and gold shimmer/gleam. Similar to MAC Pink Opal but slightly more pink, less gold.
~ Beachy Keen: coppery brown shimmer
~ Guilty Pleasures: bronzey/brass gold shimmer; similar to Hyper Space but more 'glimmery'
~Fantasized: matte peach... what the? Don't know what happened to this shade of "do nothing" peach, especially since it was sold along with Mystified which is gorgeous and shimmery.

I don't have the following but for the sake of reference I thought I could list them. I wish I had them though!
~Sparkling Mist: greyed blue green with gold shimmer
~Sand Bar: yellowed peach with iridescent pink (a la MAC Motif)
~After the Rain: icy mint
~Coastal Green: Shimmery olive; golden green
~Starfish: shimmery peachy bronze
~Vintage: Deep burgundy wine with gold/bronze shimmer
~Native Spice: rich dark brown with gold shimmer.
