This is one of my favorite purple eyeshadows. Drama is a bright medium purple with a nice shimmer to it. This shadow has a slight duochrome to it; it can turn lighter purple or indigo depending on which way you turn your head.
I find Lancome shadows can be a little iffy. Some are super dry and chalky and cause tons of fallout, and some are very hard and dry and difficult to pick up no matter what brush you use. Also, some are crazy pigmented while others are seriously lacking pigmentation. But out of all of Lancome's shadows, there are some real gems that are buttery soft, smooth to apply, and last all day long. This is one of them. The texture is so soft and I can pick this shade up easily with any brush. I have no fallout, no creasing, and no fading if I wear this with a good primer.
I also love the packaging. It's so easy to slide this open and closed, it's not too bulky, and I've never had an issue with a Lancome shadow in this packaging breaking.
Drama isn't an everyday color for me, because it is quite bright. But on days when I want to play with my makeup, this is a purple I almost always reach for. I love this as a lid color with a lighter purple as a highlight and a dark purple in the crease. If you're wary of Lancome shadows like I am, don't be afraid of this one! It's really amazing.

Looks good in the pan but it barely shows off on my skin and creases after 5 hours of wear. I am an NC15 and I was expecting more from Lancome. I received it as a gwp but I would not have purchased it myself due to the bad reviews. The packaging is not bad but not worthy of an expensive brand.

This purple eye shadow is so unique! I love pairing this with stars n rockets all over the lid and then drama in the crease for night time. Drama also looks good with other light purple or lilac on the lids as well. It is a shimmery irridescent violet color that almost looks like a duochrome. The color is hard to describe and can look anywhere from true purple to grape plum and then blue violet all depending on the light. It can almost look metallic at times if you really pack it on. That is the only reason I gave it 4 lippies instead of 5 you really have to pack the color on to show its real beauty. I guess I am just used to more pigmented shadows such as MAC and Urban Decay. I've tried to find a dupe for this but can't find one! Urban Decay's LE shadow Flash is too bright and doesn't have the same plum grape violet affect and MAC's Parfait Amour leans too blue. I don't think Lancome has the color focus eye shadows anymore but they do have drama in the color design eye shadows they have now. I'm not sure if there is a difference in them or not but I think it might be time I bought a new drama in the color design since my old color focus drama is broken and almost gone. I really hope the color is exactly the same!

I bought the full size eyeshadow after having received it in a gwp...I love this as a lid or highlight color...Such a pretty medium purple/lavender and blends so well with darker purples.

I usually don't wear very bold shadows. But I absolutely love this color. I know it's not as pigmented as it looks but that's what I like about it. I love the subtle iridescence.

This is a beautiful dark purple color. Looks very pretty and should have lots of drama, right? Well, as others have said it has no pigmentation. I'm a DDD so I have to have lots of pigmentation for the shadow to show up. You can't see this on my skin. I can wear darker shadows (love Milani dark brown and Chanel Chahut which are HG) just not this one. I have had this for awhile and it still look new. I will not repurchase but it has nothing to do w/the quality just didn't work for me.

I tried this on in the store so I knew what I was in for - a sheer purple that I found lovely on my fair skin that pops my dark brown eyes. I love it for day, and for night I add Shu Uemura ME Purple 780. I think as long as you know what your getting this is a nice shade.

I got this in a gift set from Lancome a couple of years ago during Christmas, and it's probably the biggest let down of all the colors in the kit.

It looks like such a vibrant and deep bluish purple in the pan, but upon application I learned just how non-pigmented this color really is. Lord knows that I've tried to make this color work, but it's damn near impossible!
Like another poster below me said, it doesn't matter how much you try to build this color because it just won't show up!

This is why I stay away from Lancome's eye shadows: they lack a lot of pigment for being a high-end product!

my mom recieved this as a gwp in a duo with spectra (a sheer lilac shade) and gave it to me. i really like purple eyeshadows and think they complement brown eyes well. my first thought was to try for a smokey eye with "drama." but like chiodancrgrl23 mentioned, this stuff does not build. it applies evenly enough, but no matter how many layers i put on, the color never gets intense. what you see in the pan is a vibrant iridescent violet. on skin it looks one-dimensional.

I got this eyeshadow in a palette that was gift-with-purchase, and I too had some really high expectations for this color. I swiped the pan, hoping that I would get a decent amount of color pay-off, but that didn't happen. When I opened my eye I noticed that I had barely any color on my lid, and then I dug back in thinking that I had not picked up enough. Once again, there was really no color payoff. After fading, it made me look like I had been hit in the eye and shoved in the mud - not very pretty in my opinion!

It's for that very reason that I haven't touched the color in years. It continues to sit in the pan, never to be used again because I had discovered purples that easily outperform, and look much prettier!

If you're looking for a sheer, cool purple, then by all means pick this up. Other than that, I would say, "leave it alone."

I can't say that Drama is my HG shadow, but it is a pleasant stop on the path, so I am giving it a 4 overall, you can get it dirt cheap on eBay, and the packaging is not great.

From reading the reviews, as well as using the shadow, I think this is one that will probably be enjoyed more by brunettes with beige skin.

It's a nice, subtle everyday shadow, and the color looks great with dark eyes. It is not intense enough for crease or liner duty unless your skin is very very fair, and just how much "drama" you will get will be directly in relation to the depth of your cool and/or golden beige skin tone.

It might me more drama, and in the wrong color, than pale pink or peachy skins would want, and if you have deep chocolate or coffee skin, you will get a pretty little hint of blue-violet, but you will need something sturdier to underly it, just as the almond-caramel-mocha faction will need to use something more substantial in the crease.

But I really like it as an everyday, standby shadow, applied on the lid and just above the crease, in sunlight and bright artificial light, it has just enough shimmer-to-blue to make it look pretty and interesting, and after flashing its soft little blue surprise, it retires demurely to its original blue-leaning violet state.

Lancome makes a very prim, plain plum called Provence that does nicely in the crease, and harmonizes with Drama, as well as a soft lavender blue, Optic, I think it is called, but don't quote me, that I use just under the brow above Drama, you may be more adventurous, or come up with a much better combination that you will hopefully post here!

This shade is so complex it almost defies description, but I'll try. Drama looks like a bold, bright blue in the compact. I put off trying this GWP for almost two years because it looked scary and appeared to have zero chance of working on me. I finally tried it on a whim one day when I knew I would be hidden inside the house all day. This shade is like a lover or friend I wish I'd met 10 years earlier. On my lids it goes on as a muted violet purple with blue iridescence, and even some minor soft fuschia tones. My husband rarely (maybe five times ever) has commented on my makeup, but he was totally floored by this. He thought it was gorgeous. The texture is even, the pigmentation is on the light side of medium, but it is somewhat buildable. I have red-gold blonde hair (not a true strawberry), fair skin that is on the yellow side of neutral, and medium cobalt blue eyes. Because I have such blue eyes and pale brows, blue shadow does not usually offset them well at all. Drama is a rare treasure, one of the most unusual shades I have encountered.

Drama is an intense purple that flashes a blue irridescense. I am an NC15 and this really makes my brown eyes stand out. The color can be a bit hard to work with dry but if you build it or use it over a base it really brings out the blue flash. I love Lancome shadows because of the way the product is domed-you get much more product than most normal pan shadows. As always, Colour Focus shadows are very long-lasting. Would repurchase if I ever ran out.

this is a purple shadow that looks quite similar to lorac's delight, the only difference i can tell between the two shades is that lorac's delight has slightly more of a pink to it. this shadow is a little disappointing because the only way i can achieve the blue that seems to flash in certain lights when its in the pan is to wet the shadow. and even then it takes quite a bit of product for me to notice anything but a med. tone purple. it is pretty, but i don't really ever use it because i find it so hard to work with. the applicator that it comes with is a joke. i rarely ever use the sponge applicators that shadows come with, but i think you'd have to have very small fingers to be able to hold onto this one, much less even work with it. i have a lot of purples in my shadow collection that are much easier to work with, so i won't repurchase this one.

This is my favourite Lancome shade, and possibly favourite overall shade for eye shadow. I am a LLL, NC25 with green/hazel eyes. This really brings out the green. It is pretty as a thick liner on the upper lid, with a touch of mascara- very fresh looking.

Drama, you tease! I got Drama in a GWP quad along with Daylight, Peep and Darkroom. Drama is the biggest disappointment because, just from looking at the quad, it was the prettiest color and thus, shouldered the biggest expectations. In the pan, it's this gorgeous satin purple that seems to flash blue iridescence--it definitely stands out from the rest of Lancome's eyeshadow colors. But it's just so difficult to apply--it's not as smooth as the other colors in the quad, actually a bit grainy, but the worst part is that it barely shows up--it takes many, many careful applications to get it noticeable, and even then, barely, and it's streaky. This is a color I definitely will not be repurchasing, but I will look for an alternative in a different line.

I absolutely loved this color. It's a medium purple with and iridescence to it that appears to be blueish. Very, very pretty one. Goes on smooth like all Lancome eyeshadows and the color is as true as it appears in the package. Great color for blue eyes. Mild enough to wear during the day and you can make it more intense for going out. Lasts forever but if I ever finish it, I'll run right and get more. The package is in a circle and it comes with a brush that is curved as well. Great for getting in the crease.

Love it!! Drama is my favorite Lancome e/s shade! The reviewer below described the shade perfectly ''a royal purple with blue iridescence''. An unique, vivid purple shade that brings out my hazel eyes. To me, this is probably one of the prettiest shade Lancôme has made so far.

I like this to create a dramatic effect on my eyelids and I often pair it with Colour Focus in Spectra or sometimes any lilac loose shimmers. On the minus side, it is true that this one is not the most pigmented Colour Focus, BUT I can layer it without any problem (it won't cake or crumble). Nice texture, goes on smoothly. I would not hesitate one single second: I'd buy it again!!

This is my favorite purple eyeshadow, one of Lancome's most beautiful colors. Staying power and pigmentation is great on me, but then again I always apply over an e/s base. It's a gorgeous royal purple with blue iridescence that really brings out my brown eyes.
