I've never really found my HG topcoat. I have tried drugstore and salon brands (specifically Revlon, Essie and OPI) and was neither disappointed or impressed. I was using my Essie 'Good to Go' top coat and liked the shine, but it wasn't giving my nails good chip-resistance. I had to get some acetone from Sally's and saw this and decided to buy it on a whim without ever trying any other Orly products. The directions on the bottle just say to apply and don't give specifics of wet or dry. With my other topcoats I always wait a minute or two and then go in with the topcoat, so it's not super wet but not dry. I decided to do an accent nail and after I went over the accent nail it made the color transfer to my other nail! I've never had that happen before. So I decided to start over and wait until the polish dried. After I did that, I had the experience of many others with the polish coming off in sheets. So, for my next attempt I went back to applying it over slightly wet nail polish and just did one color so I had no transfer and a few hours later I had chipped my polish...This one is going in the garbage!

It's good, but I wouldn't buy it again because Seche Vite is better.

Chips immediately. I tried everything: applying right away, applying while still tacky, applying after it dried. It chips on day one no matter what I do. To paraphrase the Comic Book Guy: "Worst. Topcoat. Ever."

I'm not really sure why this is called 'Won't Chip' because CHIP is exactly what it does. Barielle's Manicure Extender performs better than this! If I ever find it at Marshall's again I'm buying their entire quantity. Anyway, I like the Orly bottle and the brush, so I will use this up and keep it for my homemade nail treatments, but I will not buy this product again.

i "borrowed" this one from my mom. it is FANTASTIC!!! when combined with fingerpaints nail polish (i have only tried black so far), it dries in about 45 seconds. totally rock hard. no fan either. now when i use it with sally hansen maximum growth nourishing nail color, i am stuck with "damp" nails. i did my nails at 10:30am. i have had to touch up and redo, and it is 4pm now. oh i have had to tough up and redo them 4 times already. but it stays in place. it doesnt clump, it is NOT gooey. and it gives my current red nails a fantastic shine.

it also gives my black nails a fantastic shine too

Wonīt chip, but it will peel in big chunks off your nails, taking tour nail polish with it.
My manicure lasted longer when I didnīt use this. Didnīt ralized it was Wonīt Chipīs fault until I read that a lot of people had the same problem only when using this.
My nails last less than a day with Wonīt Chip, it does the opposite of what is supposed to. Donīt waste your money on this, youīre better off with cheaper regular top coat.

This is a very 'meh' product. I got a few days wear out of it before it started chipping, but there are about 100 better products out there that dry faster. I'll use up the bottle but I won't bother buying another one.

This product has been inconsistent from bottle to bottle. First bottle, I loved - hard, glassy top coat and my manicure lasted for days beyond other top coats. Second bottle got awfully goopy, and nail polish came off in sheets. I thought it might have been a bad batch, but third bottle is now beginning to show signs of that goopiness. Really disappointed because I thought I'd found the top coat of my dreams.

I was surprised to see what bad ratings this product has. I love it!, I think I have gone through 4 bottles now. With regards to the problem everyone had been having with it cracking and coming off in sheets, it is probably sure to the thickness that its applied. If you apply to many coats of the product, the product itself will break because it makes your polish super hard, thus it cracks when you bend your nails.... But if you apply two light coats it shouldn't be a, problem.

I don't know why this product has such bad reviews. I've used quite a few top coats including poshe and nothing seems to beat it. I even apply it over dried polish and it leaves a thick, hard glass like coat that extends my manicure for 5 days. This is the only top coat that eliminates dents, sheet marks, etc. I've used it over OPI, Orly and cheap brands and seems to work about the same for all. I would definitely recommend and will keep using it

As a top coat, this is just o.k. It didn't make my polish last longer or make it shiny. What I dislike is that half way through the bottle it has gotten so thick I can't use it anymore. I've only had it for 6 months. I can't waste money like that. Will be buying another top coat from now on.

This top coat is worse than some old, out-dated, probably even discontinued Maybelline top coat that I've got. The first time I tried it, it was a complete nightmare. I did my toenails the night before I left to go out of town, just because I knew I'd be busy packing and what not the day of...needless to say, I had to re-paint my toenails the day of my trip. It's like this top coat completely dried the polish out and caused it to come off in these massive sheets. I was pissed off. The next time I tried this, I made 100% sure that the polish was still wet before I applied Won't Chip over it. I was surprised at the way my nails felt when the top coat dried. They felt incredibly strong, looked wonderfully glossy, and all of the streaking from my polish had been filled in and evened out. I was thrilled but this only lasted for a day. By the next day, my nail polish was again chipped like crazy. I'm not rough on my hands at all. Actually, I'm probably less rough on my hands than most people are. I couldn't believe it. I don't plan on using this again. It makes nails look great for a minute but it does absolutely NOTHING for the staying power- if anything, it makes nail polish chip even worse. If you're thinking of buying a new top coat, it's probably best to steer clear of Orly's Won't [Do Anything But] Chip.

Ok, they must have reformulated this and repackaged it because my bottle is slim and doesn't look like the picture listed here. I put this on when my nailpolish was still wet 4 days ago.. no chip. at. all. And I am rough with and wash my hands often..I work 13 hr days in the medical field. fyi-I wear my plain wedding band at work because I dont want to get my engagement ring and more delicate band dirty.. Just make sure you use it while your nails are still wet.. and get the slim tall new bottle.. I would repurchase........

Worst top coat I've ever used. Tried it on dry nails, chipped in a day. Tried it on wet nails and it STREAKED my nail polish. For a salon brand I am very unimpressed....I will no longer purchase anything Orly.

ETA: I was crabby with this TC because the name is misleading-chipping is not a thing of the past with this TC. I would use a different TC for setting the polish and protecting it. Where this polish does shine is in topping glitterbomb manicures. It does a lovely job of evening out the bumpy finish of glittery polishes and imparting a nice shine to even the biggest TC eater polishes. It is not my go to TC, but it is great for this purpose. Would repurchase.

HG top coat. I tried Seche Vite to see what the hype was about and I came crying back to Orly Won't Chip. I had no idea I was supposed to apply it while the polish was still wet - I do it dry and my mani/pedis last a good week. I also love how Orly bottles have rubberized caps. I just wish they would upgrade the brush to the wider style.

Oh man this stuff is AWFUL! I do my own french manicures with a Sally Hansen pen and thought I'd get something better as a topcoat to help with chipping after a few days. Well, this was a bad idea. I should have listened to the reviews. Normally, with plain topcoat from Walgreens, my manicures will last me 5-7 days with minor chipping. This stuff didn't last me even an hour! I've done it all, waited until the polish was dry, put the topcoat on when the polish was wet, and nothing works. Last night I did my nails and by the time I went to bed, I already had chips. Then this morning at work, my the entire pinky nail on my left hand chipped off, half of my index finger, half of my other pinky nail, and every other nail except like two are chipped. Whenever you put this stuff on, it does look pretty good, but if you can get it to last more than an hour, then it would be great. Maybe I need to use it on my nails if they're completely painted, I don't know. But either way, this stuff sucks. Won't buy again and will probably end up throwing this away.
