Zero issues with the formula, it is creamy, opaque, non-drying, good wear and everything a decent lippie should be. Now I think the issue for most people is the color shade, I've read it described as 'clay' and I can see where that's coming from, this lippie has a fair amount of greyish-brown tones to it. But I am in love with this lippie on my own skin, I have pale-ish skin (KvD Light 42) and I love the way it looks on me, it's like a toned-down, wearable version between a nice soft nude and that dark, retro dramatic brown lip. It is just PERFECT for fall and it really goes well with my coloring. The shade is not for everyone but I think if you have lighter cooler or neutral toned skin with dark hair, you should really give this a try. It manages to be unique and moody while still wearable/work appropriate.
PS. If anyone is wondering how Rea compares with Butter! I could not find decent comparison pics so I bought both. Butter is slightly lighter and more neutral (and more matte), while Rea is slightly darker and has rosier tones and is creamier. Both were non-drying on my easily-chapping lips. :)

Not too sure about this shade after the first swatch with no makeup on. But, with the right makeup on and if you have the right coloring for this, you can really pull this off. First of all, I feel everyone should try out all colors as they please no matter what skintone they are. However, I really feel this shade is better suited for netural - warm toned ladies. I'm NC40 ~ Olive and this shade can work for me if I apply matte contouring bronzer and a nice gold or bronze eye. But, even with my coloring, this isn't a swipe and go type of l/s. Rea needs thought of what to pair it with. With Rea, I get no pink tones at all in this. I do feel that this is a neutral beige with a hint of grey, like some reviewers said "clay". The formula is very moisturizing, like with all Nyx l/s but they do have that oily feel to them. The staying power is poor. I maybe can get at most 1 hour wear before I have to reapply. The finish is matte, no shimmer or frost in this.

When I first applied it I didn't like it at all. I think you could only get away with this colour if you are either tan or wearing bronzer as it's a browny coloured nude.
Also I think this would suit brunettes best.
Not a bad lip colour but you really have to work out what make up to wear before applying this (bronzes, etc)
*EDIT* - my boyfriend likes this lipstick on me :)
I think this colour was made for me
and I got some positive glances :)
The only bad thing about this is how fragile it was - it snapped so couldn't use it anymor - binned it.
Wish I didn't as I would love to own this.
NYX - make your sticks stronger please.

I guess this really is a love/hate product. I'm around NC/NW 25 (I have neutral undertones). When my town finally opened up an Ulta I knew I had to snag some beauty goodies and on my list was a new nude lipstick. I'd been hearing great things about the NYX lippies so I headed right over but the only MATTE nude color they had was Rea. It looked alright in the tube so I bought it without second thoughts.
When I got home I applied it to my lips and loved how creamy and smooth it felt. When I looked in the mirror, UGHHHH so dead! It was the same color as dried up mud. I could not believe it. Next I paired it with NYX's nude pink lip liner hoping I could give it some nice spark, ahhhh my efforts were futile.
All in all, I think the formulation of these lipsticks are enjoyable but this particular color is so saddening to me :(((

A lot of girls are saying this lipstick is unflattering on them, but I was kind of attracted to the way people described it as being a 'clay' sort of shade...
I am very pale (as pale as it gets) but I LOVE this lipstick on my fair skin. It comes out very dark on me and there is a slight greyness to it but I love that. It's unusual, and not just a brown/nude lipstick.
If you're super pale and want a dramatic effect, try it out. I'm re-buying a tube already since I lost the first and need it in my lipstick collection!

I was shocked with this color like a lot of the women on here.
I will have to say I love that it this is matte, creamy and moisturizing. Only thing I'm not too sure is the color. I've figured out ways to use the weird pale clay colored lipstick but sometimes if I put too much on I can get that dead color.
But I really love the lipstick overall. It challenges me me be creative and I love the color pay off. Another con would have to be that it doesn't last long ;A;

Thought this was going to be a dupe for blankety. So NOT! It looks sooo unflattering on my fair skin. Its just disgusting.

This doesn't thrill me. It goes on very moist with good pigmentation, but it doesn't last on me. It does dry down to just a stain very quickly. I can taste it migrating into my mouth. Not good! Also, this color was very greige and taupey on my nc42 skintone, so it sucked all color out my skin and made me look pale. I'm glad I tried it, but there are better nude lipsticks on the drugstore market.

Circe's slightly brown sister. This lipstick can make you look very very dead. I thought this would be a little more wearable than Circe, which it is somewhat but you would need the right undertones in your skin I think. Personally, I never wear this alone. I use it to tone down other lipsticks that I think are too loud for me. It works alright for this purpose. But I can't see myself using the whole tube, let alone half anytime soon. Also, these lipsticks melt like crazy so don't put them in your purse! Which is annoying because then you can't touch up during the day. I find that the NYX Round lipsticks don't last long on the lips at all because of their consistency. I personally wouldn't re-purchase any NYX lipsticks again.

Gave me the 'concealer lips' look, which is not what I was going for. Didn't work AT ALL for my skintone.

With my darker NC43 complexion I was highly dissapointed when it arroived from Cherry Culture. Youtube had let me down. I looked like a fool. lol. Then I got a bright idea. I put my too dark orchid lipgloss over it and blended and i ended up with a nude lavender color that it to die for. So I added NYX dolly pink lipgloss over it which is ultra bright and got a sheer tan pink. I use it just the way you would put a sheer gloss over a dark lipstick but in reverse. I hate to waste a product so I had to make it work and I love it now.

Sighhhhh. I was really excited to try this; was looking for a MAC Blankety dupe and saw Thalia but thought it would be too purple for me. This seemed like a more neutral alternative.
For those of you who have searched for swatches of this color, you'll know that IT NEVER LOOKS THE SAME in ANY picture. I saw Aubrey from Youtube (fafinettex3) had swatched these on her blog. She was the only person who has similar coloring to me who posted swatches so I hoped for the pale nude result she has in her picture.
I love the formula of this lipstick but CANNOT wear it alone. I tried adding MAC Twig to it and the result was muddy BUT my Lip Gelee in Sugar Shock took the grey out. I'm in the market for a nude I can just throw on though, not fuss over. Will try Thalia next.

Oh this looked like it would be such a great beige nude but on my skin the gray in it definitely shows up! It is a bit ghoulish looking when it is applied heavily. It really does give quite the nude look, but that gray undertone is very prominent on me. I consider myself to be the very essence of neutral toned...and not neutral toned that I can get away with both very warm and very cool colors, more like... in that anything that is too warm looks like crap on me and anything that is too cool looks like crap on me. On me this color needs to be warmed up slightly, it could have definitely benefited from some pink tones. If you are looking for a nude completely devoid of pink or orange, this is totally it. It was cheap enough though that I'll keep it and try to work with it by layering some pink with it.
NYX Round Lipsticks are so simply amazing though. They are cheap, creamy, moisturizing and so highly pigmented. Some of the best lipsticks I have ever used!

This is one of many NYX round lipsticks that I have bought simply because they are the best lipstick that i have ever put onto my lips. The price is amazing too - don't let it fool you. It is low cost because the packaging is simple but the round lipsticks are rich and creamy and buttery, nourishing and a total delight to wear..
I got Rea today at Ulta because i was dying to have a medium to light nude to wear when I do dramatic eyeshadow. So i settled on Rea. I already own Thalia (which is my MLBB shade) but i had to have Rea..
Colorwise it is a creamy brown clay color. Compare it to a light mocha. Very cream taupe. With the right skin tone this shade can be absolutely FLATTERING. The clayey color is what scares some chicks here, because they might think that it makes them look dead!! Well to that I have to say that a lot of NYX lip color seems to be matched to specific skin types.
.so if you have a warm complexion and paler skin this is going to be an exciting nude. If your skin is too dark it will make you look washed out and the grey will come forth. Test it on the inside of your wrist before you buy. Either you like it or you don't.
I LOVE this color, its my new nude. It also looks fabulous with a swipe of NYX thalia, which would be in the same color family but with a hint of rose. I don't mind layering, it seems to create the perfect warm rose clay that looks so nice with my skin tone. Alone it is a bit light on my lips so I will layer it with my Thalia until the winter when my skin is pale.
Consistency is creamy and matte, it melts like butter on my lips and conditions them to perfection.
I am not a brand whore per-say but dang, NYX makes some affordable and quality lip color and eyeshadow. i love this brand and this color was perfect for me.
Would I buy again? YES

This is my 2nd NYX lip product. Im pleasantly surprised that it hasnt dried my lips out or left a cakey film behind like some expensive lipsticks.. The color is a soft taupe/ natural flesh color. Its a nice change from the pink peach fleshy color lipsticks that are in style. It wears off quickly but reapplies nicely...Im excited to see what other colors I can buy. NYX is a nice brand. The eyeshadows are pretty good as well/ My first purchase was a jumbo lip pencil..
