Plumage is my go to V colour when I use Club eyeshadow. I use club all over, then darken up the outer corners and V with Plumage. It's a dark teal, matte colour that blends beautifully, not at all chalky. Love it paired with Club shadow and Tealo pencil liner on the waterline. X

I absolutely love this eyeshadow. Plumage is described as a dusky peacock color and while it isn't as bright as I would imagine it to be, just judging by the description, it is still very pigmented and pretty. I normally use mine to cut my crease and in the outer v. It works wonderfully and I have used it with a brighter purple, a brighter blue, and a brighter green (although not at the same time, because that would just be kind of bad) and all those colors have looked really good with it. It is very pigmented, so it is somewhat unforgiving, but if you build the color instead of just smearing it on, it seems to work better. I do wish it had a little bit more brightness to it, but I can always add a little bit of Knight by Spectrum Cosmetics. I have worn this color with every color outfit I own and somehow it seems to match, no matter what. With orange, it looks more muted brown. With brown, it looks more muted green. With blue, it looks more teal...so on and so forth. I have read where some people have found this to be chalky but I can't say that's the case for me. I use two primers, though. The first primer is my normal makeup primer (Monistat Gel) and the second primer I use is either my UD or Spectrum. I love this color and I find that it has become one of my go-to shadows.

This is such a beautiful colour. Although it looks so dark (almost black) in the pan, but it applies as a nice deep teal on the eye. I was actually surprised, how well blendable it was, as I have read other reviews stating it was a pain to blend. How I make it work is by literally just dipping a small brush into it and then slowly building it into the outer V.

It looks nice in the crease and outer V on top of a neutral. But I have also been using it in the crease when I use Steamy (a metallic blue-green) to add depth. I yet have to try to pair it with blue (with Deep Truth).

Love this eyeshadow, it goes great on the outer lid with urban decay's half baked on the inner portion or even over black gel eyeliner to set it and give it a green tint. I didn't like it too much when I'd first got it, but once I got used to blending it out as much as I should it worked for me. Took off one lippy for the fact that it is...I want to say streaky/patchy?, I feel I have to put in that extra effort for it to be applied evenly and blend it out a WHOLE lot more compared to my other matte shadows. I only spent 4 dollars on it at a warehouse sale, but I think I'll repurchase it when it runs out.

This colour is gorgeous in the shop! I went to swatch it but absolutely nothing! It's still a beautiful matte dark blueish-green colour! would be beautiful with some gold over it I think!

This is a beautiful, rich, smokey and deep colour. Its great for the crease and outer edges of the eye. It takes some layering to intensify the colour, because it is matte. It is a unique and flattering peacock teal colour!

In the pan I loved this shade, but once I got it home I was really disappointed. It's really hard to apply and faint, you've really got to work with it. I also found it very unforgiving, so if you make the slightest mistake you've gotta start alll over. So yeah, I guess it's a nice shade but i definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Plumage is a gorgeous, dark teal in the pan, but goes on looking just slightly lighter than black. On my light brown lids it appears dark grey and the teal is very faint. It's ok for the outer V and a smokey eye. I don't use it much, but I love MAC because if you are creative and mix and match you never know what jewel you will create. I was bored and swiped on Plumage. It looked dull and boring so I swiped MAC Goldmine over the top. The 2 mixed together became the most regal, elegant, shimmering emerald green shadow I've seen. So now Plumage will not just sit idly in the pan and I will soon have to purchase another container of Goldmine.

This is a beautiful deep teal color. It's a matte shade but it preforms well and blends easily. I use this when I want a change up in the crease/outer v.

A must for green/grey eyes. I mostly use it to line my upper lash line, and sometimes the lower water line as well, for a quick look. It brings out my eyes (a wierd mix of green-teal-grey) like crazy.

I did give it a 4 and not 5 since it is a bit powedry, but I'd still repurchase.

A WOW colour for green eyes (particularly olive/sea green eyes). I wear it lightly on the lid with a black smokey eye and it makes my eyes P.O.P! Wearing it, my eyes have a gravitational pull that other people's eyes are drawn too- in a good way! It's very pigmented and is easy to blend.

Note: Due to the hefty import tax placed on make-up in Australia I always rate Mac products as very expensive- $33 for a small pan of eyeshadow is ridonkulous!

I really hate writing a negative review for this, as I wanted SO BADLY to love it, but it's just impossibly chalky. I've tried all kinds of brushes of different shapes and fibers to see if I could make it work, but I'm not at all pleased with the results. It's possible to get some payoff, but you have to really take your time and pack it onto your base--which, incidentally, is completely necessary here for any color to stick at all. My thinking is that, while it's most definitely a beautiful color, one shouldn't have to baby $14.50 eyeshadow, you know?

EDIT: I exchanged this for another of the same color and it's like a completely different eyeshadow--super silky and gorgeously pigmented...don't know if the first one I had was part of a bad batch or what, but I absolutely love it now.

This is a nice color to work with as an alternative to grey or black. I paired it with MAC's Wedge in the crease and it create a unique smokey effect. It is matte, so it takes a bit of patience to get the best results (I applied primer, painterly paint pot, dry Plumage eyeshadow then applied Plumage wet). This is also a nice color to wear on the lower lash line for a pop of color with a neutral look. I would describe it as teal with grey and blue unertones.

Argh, I really wanted to love this. The colour is beautiful - a dark blackened teal - and I would get so much use from this if it weren't for the poor quality of the shadow. It's just too sheer and chalky to be of any real use. It'll probably just sit in my palette unused, and I'll use a black shadow blended with teal instead. I think that will be easier than trying to get this shadow to work :(

This eyeshadow is very effective in creating matte smoky looks. I use it as eyeliner and smudge it out instead if using a blue kohl pencil. I've tried using this shadow in the crease but it can look a little ashy. The color reminds me Russian Blue in the Palace Pedigreed quad but a few shades darker.

I should have paid more attention to all the reviews here on MUA - they were tepid for a reason. What a gorgeous, deep teal color this is, and what a disgrace when it comes to payoff. Like pretty much all Mac matte shadows, it goes on too sheer, with minimal blendability; in fact, I find it behaves just like Carbon, which is also one of my (few) Mac let-downs. If, however, you do manage to somehow make it pop on your lids (say, over a similar color base or by packing it on loads), you won't be disappointed. It greatly compliments brown eyes without being over the top. Unfortunately its chalky nature is a deal-breaker for me and sadly it seems I won't be getting as much use out of it as I'd thought. Won't repurchase.

I desperately want to love this. I love the color, the only one I've been able to find similar to it is UD Goddess, and I'd rather not deal with the glitter fallout of UD shadows. But this was a disappointment. It's very hard to pack on and not terribly blendable, so on the skin it's not the nice, pretty teal that it is in the pan. Don't know how much use I'll be getting out of this, unfortunately.

Absolutely gorgeous dusky matte teal with slightly grayish undertones, but not a shadow that gets much love or attention in my collection. I will occasionally pull it out when I want a differently dramatic look and wear it in the crease usually paired with cork on the lid then blend out the crease with Wedge. It is a really unique and beautiful colour that is quite pigmented and blends well. Sadly not an everyday colour that I personally prefer to wear, but I'm happy that I have. Honestly I probably will never have to repurchase this shade as I have barely made a dent in the pan.

Not for the faint of heart. This colour is bold and a little goes a long way. I find it takes awhile getting used to dark mattes, especially this one as they can appear patchy at times. Use a fluffier brush for application and blend, blend, blend until you can't blend no more!
