It's a nice light foundation with decent coverage and good color matches. However most of it melted off my face within hours. There was no oil control. Also the scent was way too strong and overpowering- I don't want perfume on my face.

I felt like this foundation was pretty thick for a "sheer" foundation. It is also very drying. I got a couple of samples from the Burberry in Nordstrom and I've been using it daily to see how I like it. It would emphasize my dry patches and settle into fine lines. My skin is combination. I feel like the foundation also disappears after a couple of hours so the lasting power is not that great. I just think you can get a similar drugstore foundation, even a better one at that for a lot cheaper.

This is a pretty good foundation. It applies really smoothly, is very lightweight and probably gives light to light medium coverage. It's buildable to a certain extent. This wasn't good enough to replace my MUFE Invisible Cover HD foundation, but it's still excellent. There is a slight fragrance to it, so be careful if your skin can't handle the fragrance. This foundation supposedly has a primer already in it, but I still used a face primer. I have light/medium skin tone and Combo (with a very oily T-zone).

This foundation is so nice and light-- and the smell is gorgeous-- a faint rose smell... However, I'm not sure it is the best for someone with dry skin such as I have... Even after applying plenty of skin cream before I tried this, it still seemed to go on a bit chalky, and not as smooth and creamy as I would require... When I think of the ideal consistency of a foundation that is hydrating enough for my dry complexion, I think of GA LSF. I definitely don't want to bring down the ratings just because this foundation is not the correct formula for me and my extremely dry skin, so of course I won't. I think it's a beautiful foundation for anyone else who doesn't have as much of an issue with dry skin... I also felt like the colors were a bit lighter than normal, which I never usually have a problem with (it's usually the opposite-- hard to find a light fndtn!) #4 was a bit too light for me, and I'm around NW15-20....

I have very sensitive, oily, clog-prone skin. I was apprehensive to try this product because of the spf and the fragrance because I have had trouble with foundations and tinted moisturizers that have those ingredients in the past. However, I am thrilled that I decided to give this foundation a try. It is sheer but provides enough coverage for freckles and red spots without looking unnatural or like a mask. The fragrance dissipates very quickly. I also really appreciate that it has great staying power and that I can use it without primer and it still looks great at the ends of the day. It does not oxidize or become patchy.

A bit on the fence regarding this foundation. Initially I felt the foundation was too thick and heavy when applied with my finger or a sponge. However, I like it a lot better after I started using a foundation brush to apply it as I could apply a much thinner layer to my skin and it looked a lot more natural. Still giving it a 3 rating as its not my favorite foundation and I find it too heavily scented (the scent lingers for a good while after applying).

I LOVE Burberry e/s singles, blushes and lip covers/velvets. I find the texture unbelievable, coming from using Urban Decay, MAC, Illamasqua. It is just a dream.
I'm thinking of changing to this fdtn. I like it because it is so sheer and for me does not stick in wrinkles, pores, etc. Trench 5 is a good color on me, not too yellow but yellow based. It does not cover as well as my Givenchy Airy-Light but also glides better over little wrinkles and dry patches. A good fdnt in the Burberry tradition of "less is more". For perfect skin this is a must, and young skin, too. Not moisturizing or drying, either. Wish it has an SPF,though.

this was a surprising discovery... we went on a ski trip and i left my cosmetics bag on the counter at home!!! argh! i was in rare form with hubby until i found the little sample in my purse of burberry sheer fnd from a nordstrom SA. Ahhh this made the trip. we were outside, in wind and cold, and on vacation so pics were taken - and this delivered! it photographs well and feel comfy on my dry skin. looks a touch mask-like at first, but wait 2 min and voila! it sorta morphs to your skin. finish is dewy and u only need a tiny tiny bit, otherwise the coverage will be just offff, since this is really meant to be sheer, not heavy, but definitely more weight to it than a TM. scent is creamy rose, very light. feels, smells, looks, and IS expensive. i dont mind paying more for fnd since it lasts a long time and really preps the canvas for the rest of your makeup. it was a splurge, though, so this one is on display on my counter where it looks tres chic!

Unlike most foundations for pale people, Burberry had a pink base options which was perfect for me. Once on, my skin literally glowed. However, within an hour my whole face was oily. Not worth the price or the time wasted oil blotting.

This foundation reminded me of the Givenchy Photo Perfection. It has a second skin look with being matte. I found that this foundation was only slightly luminous. Its almost as if I took a highlighting powder set it on my face with a matte foundation underneath. I prefer using other foundations such as YSL and I didn’t think this was anything special. This foundation went back to Nordstrom.

The lid is ridiculously long to begin with, though some people find it stylish. I have these in shade 1 and 4, 1 is the lightest with pink undertones, and 4 with yellow undertones, but I have to mix them together to create a perfect match. It claims to be a moisturizing foundation, and it applies like a moisturizer(the consistency is close to a gel moisturizer) but the result is not so pleasing---it emphazes the dry pathches, and the worst part is, it never dries down. So I am left with a tacky-feeling face after putting my foundation on ,and it's not fun. the coverage is moderate.
the smell is good, flowery and soft. But that doesn't make up for the fact that this is a failure.
there's a lot of high-end foundations better than this one. So think twice before you buy this one

This foundation is one of those ones that looks best on perfect skin. When my skin's looking good, this makes it look stunning. However when my skin's dry it looks terrible (my skin never really gets oily). I still use it everyday and I go between loving and hating it. I also really like the smell :) And the packaging is GORGEOUS! Also it has light coverage.
So all in all, a great foundation for the girl with great skin.

I rushed to the Burberry Beauty Counter the moment I heard that it was available in my country.
I hardly ever use any foundation, my makeup regime only consisted of groomed brows, mascara and lipstick/lip gloss. But I do reach for my Chanel VA from time to time.
I was matched to Trench No. 1, and the finishing was lovely. It was dewy and extremely natural. The SA used Fresh Glow as a primer on one side of my face and the other without. I would dare say, Fresh Glow + the Sheer Foundation made my face more radiant and 'healthier' looking.
I am a total convert (did i also mentioned the beautiful packaging?), and currently i am struggling to finish my Chanel VA since I keep finding myself reaching for my Burberry foundation.
To be honest, I am already on my second bottle for both the Fresh Glow and this foundation. It's so light weight that I wouldn't mind using it everyday, in comparison to my Chanel VA in which the formula was a lot thicker (and that i found that using the VA does break me out once in awhile, that's is why i don't use it often as I have extremely sensitive skin).
I gave this only 4/5 because of these three reasons,
I do not recommend this for people with oily skin or even people who are looking to cover up their imperfections. I tried this on my best friend, and she has oily skin with a little bit of redness here and there. Her skin started looking greasy after 3 hours of wear, and that the redness can still be seen even with the foundation on. But I do recommend their newer Velvet Foundation which gives a semi-matte finish, and has a more buildable coverage compared to this.
This foundation does not have SPF. I do know there are many people who are looking for a substitute for the light foundation or the VA found themselves very disappointed with this due to the lack of SPF. However, it is not really an issue for me as I often mix my sunscreen together with my foundation. But i dare say this photographs beautifully because of the absence of SPF.
Last but not least, the biggest issue I have with this foundation is that because it's formula is so much like a tinted moisturizer, i find it 'melting' off my skin on a very hot weather. Blame the humidity in my country, butI believe this foundation would work very well in cold countries or weather, but not without the help an actual moisturizer.
Overall, I love this foundation very much. I think it's worth giving a shot especially for people with normal to dry skin. I do recommend grabbing a sample or going personally to the counter to try both the sheer and velvet foundation to get a better feel and understanding to which foundation that would be more suitable for your skin.

The texture and performance of this foundation is very similar to MUFE HD. It is full of silicones, which we needn't be scared of (only a tiny percentage of people have this sensitivity)—silicones are quite breatheable and give the smooth, cushiony, imperfection-blurring magic we love in a foundation. Just like MUFE HD, it is a bit thick on the hand but blends out to a very natural, light to medium cover finish that photographs well and looks flawless up close.
Now, when the very nice girl at the Burberry counter did my makeup, I A/B'd this with the YSL Touche Eclat foundation on the other cheek and then borrowed her hand mirror to walk outside and see it in daylight. I know to do this now because I always get fooled by department store lightening and end up with foundations that are too dark for me. Sure enough, it looked a bit dark so I asked to try a lighter shade (the YSL color was perfect but the Burberry finish was softer and more natural). She cleaned my whole face with a cream makeup remover and then put the lighter shade all over me and finished with a beautiful eye design, to boot! Fun, fun, fun. After wearing the look around all day, I will be going back to pick up the blush (Peony), Lip Mist (Nude Peach) and eyeshadow (Almond) to add to my collection.
I bought the foundation in Trench No. 04. I wear MUFE HD #115 in the winter and Trench No. 04 is darker and more yellow, but better for me for summer. It's VERY close to Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation spf 42 in SP40. Burberry claims that this has UV "filters," but I would not rely on it because it has no FDA approved spf rating and does not contain a significant amount of titanuim dioxide, zinc oxide, avobenzone, octinoxate, etc. So if you use this during the day, layer it over a sunscreen.
By the end of the day my face looked awfully shiny and I was sadly resigned to returning it, which bummed me out because I have some other Burberry makeup items that I love and wanted to see them all sitting together looking super chic and fancy. So I decided to try it again today with my own skincare routine (Paula's Choice) because I was wondering if the cream makeup remover she used was too rich for my oily skin and if she put it on too thick.
I just used a PC toner and serum and then applied the foundation with a light hand using the Sephora Pro Airbrush Foundation Brush (which is a great brush for lighter, more natural coverage). It blended beautifully, looked flawless and radiant and withstood my ultimate test, which is wearing it to a sweaty Vinyasa yoga class. I was VERY worried about the possibilities—I have oily skin and it could've been very, very bad, but I came out looking gorgeous. I'm keeping it!
Bottom line: this is not a foundation to pile on and try to get full coverage from. Don't go nuts moisturizing, it really is pretty moisturizing as it is. Use a dense, round brush (not the old, paintbrush style foundation brush) and go easy because a little bit goes a long way. One pump was more than enough for my entire face and jaw. It looks freakin' awesome—light and natural, slightly dewey and very fresh. The only reason I didn't give it 5 lippies is because it's not totally fool-proof and being too heavy-handed with this could ruin the intended effect.

I am NC 15 atm and bought testers for Trench no 1 and 4. The Trench no 4 is a close match to my Bobbi Brown foundation in 1.5 Warm Ivory. The trench no 1 is lighter (slightly lighter than my Chanel B10) but to be honest I bought the full-size bottle of shade 1 and would have been happy with either 4 or 1. The foundation seems to blend in with my skin tone.
Coverage is thicker than I thought - the name is a bit misleading. You can also layer/build up the coverage without any caking.
The foundation lasts 6-8 hours, you will probably need to fix your face during the day, especially if you have normal to combo skin. I have dry skin and although people have commented that this has a dewy finish my skin is so dry that it tends to appear just fresh.
Burberry are releasing a new long-lasting foundation in a frosted bottle to target people who want long-wear or have oilier skin so if this is you I suggest waiting for that foundation if you want to sample Burberry.
The scent is rather strong but I like it. It is definitely a luxurious smelling and packaged foundation. It looks exquisite on your vanity.
I live in Australia and this is a pain in the ass to buy. I ended up sourcing the testers and foundation from ebay (AlphabeautyUK, great seller I have used numerous times) at approx AUD$63 which is much cheaper than the in-store high end brands (Lancome, Chanel, Armani, Estee Lauder). I would definitely repurchase this for winter but would hesitate to pay the full AUD$RRP from the Melbourne or Sydney David Jones.

I love this! it has replaced Guerlain Parure extreme as my HG foundation! i use this in #1 and i'm N-20. it goes on beautifully (less runny than guerlain parure) and i find that it stays on my oily t-zone/ combi face pretty well. i'm not saying it doesn't melt, but it 'melt' graciously such that by mid-noon, i dont feel the crazy urge to bolt like crazy! i will lightly bolt with tissue until the end of my working day. loving it! great packaging, just that color selection is a bit odd.

I'm never a fan of fashion house-turned-cosmetics products, but Burberry surprised me with the whole range. Understated elegance is how I'll describe its branding.
The foundation, as its name suggests, its sheer with a sweet vanilla-y smell that lasts for quite a while. However it provides a dewy finish that reflects light to achieve coverage effect. I really like it in summertime, it's light, easy to spread with just fingers yet sufficient to cover skin flaws, provides a healthy fresh look without the cakey-ness. For my combination skin, it gets about 6 hours of wear.
I get in in HK for HK$380 (US$48). It's very reasonable and I think the bottle will last for 5 months as a little goes a long way given its spreadability.

With all the check pattern on the packaging, it looks very luxurious and very Burberry. I purchased this on the UK Burberry website.
I used Trench No. 5. It matches my skin tone very well. It almost feel like a moisturizer when you put it on your skin. Very moisturizing. This foundation gives a dewy finish with a light coverage but buildable. I need to set it with my Palladio Rice Powder. However, it can't really completely cover my pores. The oil control ability was not as good as expected. My face would become very oily after wearing it for a few hours.
Over all, it is a very nice foundation but I would only recommend it to someone with dry skin and looking for something light-weighted. If you have oily skin, a strong oil control primer and setting powder would be needed.

I normally wear shu uemura 774 and I find Burberry's No. 6 matched my skin perfectly - next to lightest with a slightly yellow undertone. However, shu remains my favorite foundation.
As I get older my skin is becoming dryer and I find it incompatible with the Burberry foundation. It just ''sticks'' to my skin too much and I find it hard to smooth out in a sheer layer. Putting it on directly after my moisturizer helps, but I still end up with a cakey look if I'm not careful.
I would recommend this for women with more normal skin.
Edit: Gotta return to say that before I was applying it with just my fingers and found it did go on a bit heavy. Using a kabuki brush though, or even a regular synthetic foundation brush it goes on like a dream! Very sheer and natural! I'm going to switch this up with my Shu since that one is such a PITA to get when it runs out. LUV

Wanted this foundation to work, but wasn't quite where I wanted it. I was initially at Nordstrom looking at Chanel products when someone from the Burberry counter snatched me away and gave me a sample of Trench No. 4 (I am Mac NC25/Chanel B20/Laura Mercier TM in Nude). When I applied it, it is a little thicker but applies very nicely to the skin. I really liked it. But a few hours later, I looked in the mirror and it was scary. I have combination skin, so I'm oily in the T-zone and dry on the chin and cheeks. This foundation was gone in the oily zones and emphasized my dry flakes badly. I did set it with a powder (Mac's blot powder) because my skin's oiliness is pretty bad. Wished this was the one, but will have to pass. Maybe if it was $25, I'd still get it and try to work around the issues but not for $52.
