Definitely a staple in everyone's stash. Basic stark white. And what else should you expect in a white polish but streakiness? My bottle also gets goopy towards the end of my manicure so I'll have to put some thinner. I find that it levels itself nicely so it may start off streaky but it gets better.

For another OPI alternative, check out "My Boyfriend Scales Walls" it's less... white? I don't know how to describe it but I guess it's not as stark, in-your-face white. Also, Tempest by Cult Nails is a wonderful white. The formula is on point and the "whiteness" is just right. :)

Yes alpine snow can be a streaky, hard to work with mess... But that's only if I'm painting my nails all white which I do very rarely... It takes at least 3 coats... However alpine snow has many other uses and that is what makes it a great polish... Great for nail arts (dots etc.) great for layering under neons pastels etc. To enhance colour. Fantastic under glitter polishes! I especially like to use it under multicolored glitter polishes like confetti :) it's also the best white I have come across for a French manicure :) I combine it with bubble bath and it is perfect for the tips :)

Hmm this is a tricky one to review. Not bad, but there is comething about the chalky look of it that i dont like even for a white polish! This is streaky, and you have to use more then one coat and take your time with it. I didnt stay on super long for me compared to lots of opis other colors. Wouldnt buy again.

I found Alpine Snow extremely extremely streaky. It needs 3 coats for it to look okay on your nails. I ended up using it only to do a french manicure and it started drying out not long after opening it. I purchased Aloha from Essence for a quarter of the price and it was a much better polish.

Don't really get all the comments complaining about streaking; for me this is the only white polish that goes one decent at all. I've mostly used it for french tips and it goes on very nicely. It is, however, just a basic white, so if you aren't so picky for application, you can find a million other white polishes that are less expensive.

I also tried to do Konad stamping with this, but it didn't work very well. For a white stamping polish, stick with the special polishes.

So I bought Sally Hansen xtreme (round bottle) in white out (?) because I couldn't find alpine snow which is what I really wanted as I don't love the xtreme wear consistency.. I think they're thick and hard to work with and doubles my manicure time because I need to apply it properly. I found alpine snow today and did a test, Sally Hansen on one finger and OPI on the other finger. I did 2 thin coats, let it dry and evaluated. Both went on easy, and the xtreme didn't have that weird consistency like usual. After they dried I compared and boy was I shocked, the OPI was streaky and looked terrible, you can not only see brush marks throughout the paint, but you there were little bald spots where my nail showed through.. And the Sally Hansen, perfection. I will be returning the 8 dollar OPI, and keeping my 2 dollar Sally Hansen. Boy am I surprised! If u want a stark white, check out the Sally Hansen xtreme, much better than alpine snow. I'm
Shocked, since I'm an OPI lover! Eh whatever, 8 bucks back in my pocket :)

I use this mostly for french pedicure's and it's a great color for that. Sometimes I paint my nails "all white" and this needs two layers to be opaque. This polish can be a bit streaky though and gets thicker quite fast. I also find that it chips easily but I get that with most OPI polishes. This is not bad but not great either!

This is my most used OPI nail lacquer. I usually always do french manicure on my toes, that's why. But OPI, as usual, lasts great and is good quality. It doesn't really flake or chip... unless I stub my toe lol.

I don't love this colour but I'm glad I purchased it. It's white, nothing really special about it, but it is useful. Great for french manicure but I'm too lazy to do that. I sometimes use this colour to do flowers and dots over brightly coloured nail polishes (I use a toothpick to do dots). Creates a nice effect. But, I find I use this polish mainly to touch up chips in my white furniture lol. Works a treat. The quality of this polish is great, application is easy. For me I just use this polish to do odd jobs as I have no desire to have white nails... but that's just me. Quality wise it's great. Colour wise.. not much to say.. it's white. If you're after a white polish, then I would highly recommend.

Meh. OPI can charge a premium for their polish because the formula is typically rich and long-lasting, but I don't find that to be the case with this particular color. Long-lasting, maybe... but even after 2 heavy coats this polish is streaky and not quite opaque. I would not purchase again, as I am sure there are white polishes out there that cost a lot less and do a better job.

My all-time favorite white polish. It's nice on it's own but it's great for layering!
It took me two layers to get it opaque.

Perfect for my French mani (I uploaded a photog with Bubble Bath!) I love the pro-wide brush too - makes application a breeze. OPI truly makes superior formulations. I started doing my own manis at home to save on $$$ of course, but it's also therapeutic. Sometimes the nail girls aren't very professional (as they like to speak in their native tongue... and unfortunately for me, I can understand what they are saying!), I'm not always happy with the results, and it just became inconvenient having make an appointment and still having to wait sometimes.

The solution? Learn to do it on my own! It took some practice, but I'm satisfied with my results - and I save so much coin! Often times my nails get mistaken for acrylics, but they are my real nails. I love how I can control the length of my nails, the thickness of the white tip, and even though OPI is pricey, I get so many manis out of them compared to a visit to the nail salon, it's actually a bargain! What's more relaxing than painting your nails with your favorite TV show on in the background, a glass of wine, and my dog to keep me company? Not much;)

Alpine snow is a milky white color that is opaque after 2-3 coats. I mean, in lament terms it's just a normal white nail polish. There's nothing special about it that sets it apart from the ordinary. The formula is mediocre at best - definitely not worth the eight bucks. I have a 99 cent white nail polish that works just as well.

I normally LOVE OPI products but I am not a fan of this one at all. I have the matte version and after only a few uses it got clumpy and dried up really fast. I can get it looking pretty opaque with 2 coats but it does not go on smooth. The drying time is great - almost too great. My bottle is drying as I am applying making application a nightmare! There is dried up product all over the top of the brush - that has never happened with any of my other OPI bottles. I gave it a 2 because I do love the brush and it does last a week without chipping or wearing. Unfortunately I can't speak for the regular version of this because I do not know it. I will update this review when/if I pick it up.

Definitely one of my favorite choices for white nail polish. It works very well and only needs 2 coats to be fully opaque. It is perfect for French tip manicures.

I'm one of the people that quite likes this nail polish. I much prefer to do my own nails. I've been doing them for years and I agree that the application of this particular nail polish takes some skill. Being that it's white, of course the color will apply somewhat unevenly initially and the formula is thick! I used this today all over my nails and it's the most perfect stark white. I can't begin to tell you how gorgeous a totally white manicure and pedicure looks, especially in the winter. GORGEOUS. As with all OPIs, this wears very well. It looks like a dream with a good glossy topcoat. I think it's a very chic look.

This is my 1st OPI polish. I'm just getting into nail polish. I thought I would try a classic color from a good brand. This is a good color but the formula is bad. This color applies goopy, streaky, & is the color of white out. I need 2 coats just to have a semi ok base for a glitter top coat. I could have gotten this same result using a cheaper brand (or white out itself lol). I'm returning this immediately.

This is apparently one of OPI's best sellers. But I am not to thrilled with it. Applies kind of thick and streaky. Not impressed. Probably my least favorite of all my OPIs so far due to it's formula.

Alpine snow is your typical liquid paper white nail polish. I also found that it applies somewhat streaky. Drying time was good. Overall I think opaque white is a must have - it is great for French manicures, under neon and sheers polishes and with glitters. However I would prefer if this shade had a tiny amount of micro-shimmer for more dimentional finish

Very opaque. I use this for french manicures mostly, or as "underwear" for my neons and stuff like that! It's a bit gloopy after a while but I needed a great opaque white!
