All colors in this line are not created equally (constancy, application and wear all vary). That said, Espresso is my color, it's just fantastic and frankly, the only eyeliner I wear. Espresso is deep, dark, solid brown with great pigmentation and easy application, light enough in color that is softens otherwise too stark eyelooks, dark enough for the statement winged liner looks that I go for. Darker than “brown” and obviously, lighter than black...perhaps a blackened-brown. Wear is fantastic (far better than MAC's Fluidlines) and the drier, creamier texture makes application foolproof. (I find that if gels are too runny, you need an *impeccable* brush to apply it with. With the drier constancy of this liner, my brush can be less than ideal and I still get a great application.) It's also easily worn as an eyeshadow. In NYC, it is easily found in drugstores around $10 for 3 grams or 0.106 oz, this little pot has lasted more than a year, I have a back up and will undoubtedly repurchase again.

I have tried too many eyeliners and yet my eyes are too oily and have too many creases on the lids. Guess any eyeliners won't stay for more than 5 hours and they always smudged easily. Every time I got home my eyes were always in a total mess.

When I found out about this eyeliner I thought it's pretty cheap and might give it a try.

And I love it.

It would stay all day at the office (I worked from 8.30 til 19.00 everyday, sometime overtime). It also made me glad cause whenever I went back home, the eyeliners stayed where they are. It's very easy to apply, even though the downside of this product is that the brush is not that perfect. But, I don't care, it's very cheap, I'd rather buy myself a proper brush and keep buying this product. However, If you're planning to use the brush just make sure to clean them often. I'm using the intense black color, and happy with it because it is very pigmented.

This eyeliner sticks like nothing I have ever tried. Great for a thick night look. Lasts for hours. (Sometimes I put it on and than wash my face, and than put on the rest of my makeup. It really is that thick. It's the only way I can figure out how to get a light daytime amount on.)

This is an amazing product, it is very easy to work with and it stays on for a very long time, it's an absolutely perfect product! One thing I would say is that they should get a waterproof one because after a few hours it does seep and move slightly down due to slight oil on my eyelids

I bought it in black and it is a very dark, nice color. It goes on easily. The brush that comes with it is ok. Not the best, but it is better than average.

I LOVE THIS!!! It is not messy. Even when I got the intense black it still gives a natural finish and you can make that glamorous cats eye effect too! It is easy to apply and has a much thinner line. I used to use a pencil but it came out too thick and was hard to remove. I love maybelliene products and I trust them. I would definutely recommend buying this. I dont know the price as I got it as a gift but it is worth it. I think it's perfect go get it!

Love this eyeliner, haven't went back to the pencil liner since! The pencil liners would always smudge and wipe off because of my oily skin. This product stays perfectly in place with a little primer first. It lasts all day and easily comes off at night. I use this product almost every day and would highly recommend for those who are tired of the pencils always smudging!

After years of trying different kohl pencil eyeliners on my lids I was getting fed up of little black streaky marks under my eyes at the end of the day from 'stray eyeliner'
I have always avoided eyeliner gels for the simple reason that I manage to lose make-up brushes so easily and you need a eyeliner brush to apply this product (included)

So when I saw that this product was long lasting and waterproof I decided to give it a whirl and buy it.

Packaging-wise it comes in a cute little pot, also included is a good sized eyeliner brush.

This product represents good value for money, it cost me 7.99 from boots.

This product is easy to apply and was extremely happy with the results, the first day I used it was for work - during that day I cried three times from laughing and the eyeliner stayed intact which impressed me loads!!

Will be definitely buying this product again once it runs out, I am a gel eyeliner convert, :)

I use gel/cream eyeliners almost everyday. MAC, L'Oreal, Stila, Clinique, etc. Mostly I choose them for color. I have found that most last well and apply the same although some are a tad drier texture, like Bobbi Brown's gel liner.

I use the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel liner in charcoal. It is a bit drier like Bobbi Brown, not as creamy or slick as MAC Fluidline. I like the depth of color but it sometimes does take two strokes to get the level of pigment I like. It wears just as well for me as the more expensive brands.

Like I said for me all the gel/cream liners are pretty much the same for me so I choose them mainly for the color choice rather than brand name. Maybelline's Charcoal is a cool shimmery charcoal with slight blue tones. The shimmer is quite noticeable on me but not flaky or glittery. It has a longer dry down time so it can be smudged or used as a shadow base for a smokey eye.

All in all it is a pretty good liner and the color payoff is good but not super pigmented. A good buy to me.

This is great for me for tightlining or a dramatic cat eye. Doesn't smudge or fade on me. This is the only eyeliner that will last all day on my waterline and still looks dramatic end of the day.Highly recommend this as it is comparable to Bobbi Brown's gel liner. The brush is okay..it does the job. The only thing is (as other reviewers said) you do need to clean the brush after use. It will get ridiculously hard if you don't. If this happens, baby shampoo cleans it like new:)

I used the MAC gel liner for years but then I saw that Maybelline did one for half the price. It's a great product- not quite as good as the MAC one in terms of texture and blackness, but still very good. Glides on easily, lasts a long time. The brush is fine. the MAC one doesn't even come with a brush- you have to fork out A LOT of money to buy one. Way too much to spend when you could get this Maybelline one.

This is the first and only gel liner i have ever used, and honestly i absolutely love it. i don't know how it compares to the expensive brands, because i don't use them. I have it in black and the gel goes on super dark which i love. It came with a brush that works well but you just have to make sure to clean it regularly. I wear eyeliner a lot, and i've had the same thing of gel liner for almost a year (with not wearing any other kinds) so it's definitely worth it!

I am an eyeliner junkie and I was super excited to try this. Unfortunately, like the automatic stick version, this eyeliner was terrible for me: caused irritation, left smudges on my contacts, and made my eyes itchy and watery. Beautiful color and look, but terrible for my eye health. :(

I am an eyeliner junkie. If asked what makeup I would bring to a desert island (disregarding sunscreen, face wash, lip balm, etc... I mean *actual*, frivolous, aesthetic-central makeup, assuming that there would be an attractive pirate on said island) I would answer eyeliner. To me, Maybelline gel liner is every bit as good as Mac, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, etc. but for less than half the price. The black is really inky black; the brown is dark espresso brown, both perfectly matte. The eggplant/aubergine is gorgeous for hazel or green eyes and dark enough for brown eyes with black hair/lashes. Use the included brush for a smudgy sexy look or a precision brush (I favor the Mac 210) for tight-lining or a dramatic cat eye.

I like it, very black, matte, (some liquids look a bit ... glossy??) good to apply with an angled brush. Lasts all day. Smudges quite easily though.

When this product first came out i have to say i was pretty excited because i couldn't afford expensive MAC gel eyeliner or Chanel or anything like that at the time. Maybelline was probably one of the first drugstore brand to sell gel eyeliner at a pretty cheap price of $16 in Australia. It came with a free brush which was pretty cute but i didn't think the brush did a good job so i ended up having to buy an angled eyeliner brush anyway. Overall, application was pretty smooth and easy and everything looked really nice at the beginning of the day. At the end of the day however, i would have smudges all under my eyes like a panda which i really didn't favor. I don't think i'll purchase this again, but i don't mind using it every now and then when i'm going out for short periods of time, but if i'm going clubbing for instance, where it'll get all hot and sweaty, i'll think i'll pass with this product.

Great gel liner! It's what got me to fall in love with using gel liner. I don't know if it's just me but this eyeliner starts to smudge on my lids without a primer. That's why I prefer wearing it with a liquid liner on the top. But overall, it's awesome and super easy to use! It has such a creamy texture! Although the black is not completely black. It's more of really dark grey..

I love this eyeliner! It's the best cheap gel eyeliner i've ever used. It goes on smoothly and is super easy to work with. I love that it doesn't smudge under my eyes which is amazing, seeing as just about every other liner does. The best part is, this little pot lasts forever! It takes me at least three months to go through a pot of this, even though i wear eyeliner everyday and reapply frequently.

The only flaw with this product is that, if I wing my liner it tends to fade after a few hours, something I could quell with some eyelid primer I'm sure.
