I've been using this since it came out with the new pump bottle (used the colorstay whipped before that) and I can say that it's wonderful. I live in the tropics, and most foundations transfer quite badly in the humidity. This stays on all day, and maintains a natural finish - not oily or dry or too matte. When I'm wearing this, it just looks like I have nicer skin.
I find the colour is a perfect match for my skin, and the colour seems to be consistent throughout the colorstay range (sand beige in the whipped formula, the natural finish formula, and this formula).
You do have to make sure you're buying the right version of this for your skin - I nearly bought the normal/dry version, when I definitely need the combination/oily version.
I tend to break out very easily if I'm not wearing the right makeup (cannot wear cover girl at all) and I have not had an increase in breakouts since using the colorstay range - I think it manages to let my skin breathe, somehow.
I think I'll probably just keep using this until it's discontinued or the company puts out a different formula to try.

This foundation is good. Pros: pretty good coverage, lasts a long time (doesn't wear off), looks good on oily skin. Cons: the color is WAY darker than it appeared at the store (this is my biggest problem with it), it dries too quickly so is tough to blend, its pretty thick, and it smells like a can of paint. Overall I would say I will definitely be buying it again, but in a lighter shade. When I do, I'll be able yo blend it better and won't have to worry about using a small amount because it looks fake. Coverage is good and its a very good price!

I love this foundation. I have been using this for years. It stays on all day in hot and humid weather. It doesn't settle in my fine lines and yucky spots. I would recommend this and will buy this again. I have used EVERY foundation on the market and this I always come back too.

One of the few foundations that works on my skin type and covers my imperfections.
It's a little bit heavy, but I have a lot of acne scars.

I've been a fan of Revlon Colorstay since it first appeared on the market years and years ago! I stopped using it for some years because my skin became increasingly oily and the old formulation just was not working with that. Fortunately, Revlon have now come out with formulation for oily skin with SPF and I love it! I'm the shade Cappuccino (NW45 MAC for reference) and its my go to for when I want full coverage without looking cakey. I especially love to use this foundation in cooler weather or for special occassions or when I just want to be glam! My next fave for the warmer, natural, everyday looks is definitely Revlon Nearly Naked in Cappuccino. Overall, this product is awesome and a mainstay!

AH I really... I mean really tried to like this product, because everyone seems to love it. I might try out some other Revlon foundation though.

PRO's
- Feels quite nice on skin
- Pleasant smell (I think they changed that)
- Medium coverage

CON's
- Oxidies on me >:(
- Can be hard to blend, must be quick
- Leaves my skin somewhat oily
- Not long lasting
- Can look a little cakey/flakey on dry spots

At first I was so excited to try this product because I have crazy oily skin, and other foundations I've tried either slide right off or oxidize into an orange colour. To start off the colour selection is horrible, the colours were either too grey looking or too pink. I have more yellow undertones.
It's really annoying how this foundation doesn't have a pump, and I would often pour out more than I need. The foundation formula was so hard to blend and would look super cakey with powder on top. It did stay on up to 6-7 hours and kept most of my oil at bay, but it's not really worth the money. It's pretty pricey considering it's a drugstore foundation. I've never really had sensitive or acne-prone skin, but this broke me out. After using it for 2 months, I started getting a lot more breakouts and little bumps all over my forehead. Won't be repurchasing again.

I've given this foundation numerous chances. I've probably bought it about 4 times, each time thinking that maybe I was doing something wrong, and my application skills have improved since the last time of purchase. But it's not me. This may have decent coverage, but it didn't even last all day on me. It looks too dry and cakey. And the packaging sucks! Too much comes out! It's too thick, as well. There's better.

Overall good product!
-good coverage
-photographs well (no flash problems)
-I apply it to my face in sections because it dries quickly.
-I find a little goes a long way, as using too much can look cakey.
-This product comes in two versions--for combination/oily and normal/dry skin. When I purchased this product, I didn't know about this; otherwise, I would have bought the normal/dry skin version, as I have normal skin.

Iīm one of those girls with mixed undertones that have a hard time finding the right color match: yellow based foundations are usually too yellow, and pink based f. are too pink.
For reference, Iīm close to mac nc20 (but of course itīs too yellow and I canīt use it, apart from mac foundations being too heavy and causing me breakouts). So Iīm delighted with this foundation in 150-buff, as itīs the closest to my skin tone I could ever find.
too my eye itīs a rather neutral light color, with only a litle bit of yellow.
Also the coverage is very good (hides acne discoloration very well), without looking heavy and itīs very longlasting. Itīs true it dries fast, but I donīt find it a problem: I aplly it section by section. Itīs easier to work with fingers tan with brush. It can be a bit drying, so I may try the normal skin version, next time. I just wish it had a pump.
So I really recomend that you give this a try, as it works better than many expensive foundations that Iīve tried.

Wow, I can't believe I'm just now discovering this foundation. It's perfect for my oil-slick skin and has yet to cause a breakout for me and I'm very acne-prone. The 24 claim of long-wear is totally bogus, but it does last through my 8 hours shift no problem! The formula doesn't oxidize or get shiny like the majority of DS foundations do on my skin so basically, I'm in love! It provides medium coverage (I like full coverage most days so I add concealer after applying it with a beauty blender). Some people claim it's cakey or has a mask-like effect which I haven't noticed, although it dries fast so you must work quickly before it sets. My only beef with colorstay is the horrible shade selection, mind you I have yellow-toned NC 20-25 skin but my closest loreal color match, sand beige, is too yellow bordering on having an olive undertone. I've noticed the color range is either too yellow or pink, there aren't any neutral tones which is a bummer. This would be a 5 lippy HG if only I could find my perfect shade, but if you have oily skin that resists foundation, you've gotta try it & you'll be amazed that skin can look this flawless:)

****EDIT 4/25/13: my skin has been breaking out in tiny bumps all over and I'm sad to say this foundation is the culprit...if you read the ingredients, salacylic acid is mentioned and I had no idea this contained SA, if I knew I wouldn't have bought it. My skin hates salacylic acid, but it may work for others who aren't sensitive to its ingredients. This is going right back to where I bought it for a refund!

my skin is extremely oily and this really helped to keep it from getting very oily for about 4 hours which is pretty good for my skin. The only thing i don't like about it is the bottle is just a hole

I'm between NC25-NC30 in MAC SFF, with Combination skin (oily t-zone, dry everywhere else). I have long work/school days and I need to have my makeup last all day! Thankfully, this is the perfect foundation for that! There are a wide variety of shades although currently I have to mix Fresh Beige (250) and Warm Golden (310) to match me perfectly. Usually I'm Warm Golden most of the year. I find that a buffing brush works the best when blending this out. A stippling brush works well too but since this is a heavier foundation, it can tend to look cakey if not blended in thoroughly. Not sure if it lasts 24 hours like it claims on the bottle, but it definitely lasts allllll dayyyyy loooongggggg! This is the only foundation that keeps my oily t-zone under control for most of the day. Not to mention, the coverage and finish is flawless and matte. So all-in-all, this is my favorite foundation of all time. I love it better than any other drugstore or high end foundation because this stuff works wonders! Full coverage, beautiful finish, long lasting, shade matching, what more could a makeup lover ask for?? ...maybe a pump. But that's not such a huge deal. LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!

This is a heavy foundation with poor blendability. It dries very quickly and it felt like a mask on my skin. I was expecting it to be amazing considering the reviews but would only recommend for an event or photos. It's way to heavy for daily wear. I also felt my skin looked very lackluster and dull while wearing this foundation.

I have the 24 hour formula for combination/oily skin

When I first used this, i was amazed. I have big trouble finding good foundations that last on my oily skin, and this was the one. It lasted all day, it kept the shine at bay, not oily feeling at all when touching the skin and no breakouts (i have sensitive acne prone skin).

But after almost finish one bottled, i realized i'm not completely satisfied with it.

Even though i have oily skin, i find that really mate foundations look unatural and makes skin appear "dead", also it enphasises textured skin, which is something i have. So, i realized i'm looking for a more natural look, this foundation just looks too obvious (and i'm really careful with the application in terms of tools, quantity and blending). I like it more after a few hours when my oils start to appear on my skin because it looks more natural.

I also notice that after a few hours, it starts to look patchy and somewhat dry. You can only tell in a short distance, but i'm really self concious about that especially at sun light.

I tried mixing it to my moituriser but it doesn't did anything, it looses it's staying power and coverage, and i don't really like the way it looks after a few hours... :-/

I was feeling sad because i really liked the staying power and oil control of this foundation, but after some research i realized many people had the same issues , and they were saying that the normal to dry skin formula worked better for them because it's more natural looking, more blendable and it's also oil free and no alcohol... it has oil control, besides the hydrating properties and almost the same lasting power, so i was excited to try and decided to give it a go.. i'll be updating this review as soon as i try the N/D formula ;)

NOTE: for those who are worried about this foundation to break you out, just make sure you are completely removing it at night. That's probably the reason why so many people have issues with this product. Use an oil based makeup remover, because it dissolves the foundation and remove it from the skin. Then you can follow up with a regular cleanser just to make sure it's completely removed. You can also use EVOO (that's what i use) - it's very effective at removing colorstay and also my eyemakeup, then i use my regular cleanser, and no breakouts so far after 3 months using this foundation daily! ;)

UPDATE: i bought a second bottle of this foundation while i was in love with it and to make sure i wasn't wasting it, i tried many different ways to apply it, so i could use it in a satisfatory way to me. I tried with my fingers and i loved the finish. It's still matte but meanwhile the texture of my skin has improved due to some treatments i'm using, so it looked sooo natural, it blended perfectly with my skin.

I'm not sure what i was doing wrong with the previous application (if the technique - i was using a flat top kabuki brush - the quantity or the application) but i like much better this way. i'm very happy i found a way this works for me because this foundation is still on my top favourite:) and i'm changing my initial review...

Although i changed my review, i prefer the normal to dry one. it's easier to blend, it looks more natural and has a more natural finish. So, i prefer that as my everyday foundadion, because with the oily combination one you can always see it in person :-/ it's better for nightime...

Nice full coverage foundation that can survive my oily skin!

Price: $17 CAD
Finish: flat matte
Coverage: full
Texture: runny
Oil-Control: all day

It dries real fast so you have to work in smaller sections. Has a strong paint / mild nail polish smell. Thankfully, the awful smells evaporates and never broke me out.
Despite being a liquid foundation, it feels heavy. Use a light hand for it can look a bit cakey.
Stays matte for the entire day with a good primer underneath, and good 6h without primer as well.

I love this foundation, although I like a bottle that you can pump out the foundation but, I won't complain about that. I have very oily skin and I find this tones it down, even without powder I feel I can wear this for a day coverage just around the house. For some reason it doesn't stay on my skin. I have used a primer also and that helps a little. It doesn't have a strong smell like some foundations. It blends awesome with a Mac foundation blending brush. I think it's the 182 or 189 I don't know. I know Mac discontinued this brush but it's the one with the white on the end of the brush. Anyways, I love his foundation and have been buying it for 3 years in between getting the makeup forever HD foundation when I can't get to a sephora. I recommend this foundation to anyone with oily skin. It's great!

I loved this product when I first got it. I took about 1/2 a pea sized amount with a damp sponge and it gave me perfect medium coverage. By mid afternoon I would use a blotting paper because I have slightly oily skin, but then the foundation would look perfect again.Never faded or settled into fine lines. Unfortunately, after 2-3 weeks of consistent use, I noticed extremely clogged pores and breakouts on places that I do not normally get them, such as my cheeks. I was using an oil cleanser to remove my makeup and then my regular cleanser. This stuff is difficult to remove, but the oil cleanser helps a lot. I continued to finish the bottle thinking that it was a temporary hormonal issue, but I had to stop using it though because of the terrible breakouts. I stopped using it about 1 1/2 weeks ago and already see an improvement in my skin, which is completely wrecked now. Disappointed because I loved the look it gave my skin.
