Not sure if this is the same product but this review is for the Dylan's Candy Bar Candy Butter Cream Birthday Cake Batter (in picture).
I picked this up at Ross for $3.99 the other day and I am soooo pleased. I had tried the Birthday Cake Batter lotion (not body butter) and that stuff is so thin, runny, not moisturizing at all, and the smell only lasts for about 2 seconds so I didn't have much hope for the body butter version of the same smell but this so thick, creamy, a bit greasy and sooooo moisturizing! I put this on before bed and when I was up in the morning my hands still feel moisturized and silky! The smell of this is amazing, it smells so sweet and sugary. If you don;t like strong sweet smells this might not be for you because it might comes off as sickeningly sweet but I really love it. it smells like super sweet vanilla icing and cake batter.. reminds me of the Cold Stone Creamery cake batter ice cream. I love this stuff and I wish I could find some more at Ross on sale since from what I hear, this brand is now sadly discontinued. If I could find it again, I'd snatch it up!

Well, after I discovered the Coconut Bon Bon Sugar Scrub and Candy Butter at TJ Maxx, I loved how they smelled SO much, that I snatched them up and bought them right away. Then I went to Dylan's website and saw all these great reviews for the Birthday Cake Batter Candy Butter ( since I love the Coconut Bon Bon Candy Butter, I thought the Birthday Cake Batter one would be good ). Unfortunately, none were available :(
I even went to Sephora's and Amazon's website, but they didn't have it either. About a couple weeks later, I went back to the Dylan's website, and they actually had it in the body LOTION, but they no longer carry it in the CANDY BUTTER ( it's been discontinued already ). I was SO excited, that I went ahead and bought the 8 oz Body Smoothie/ Lotion, and two of the 2 oz ones. I couldn't wait to get them, and was really happy when they finally arrived. Well....in the bottle, the initial scent is very genuine to an actual birthday cake, but then there's this underlying scent that I can't quite put my finger on.
I went ahead and put some on, and at first, it's VERY greasy and leaves this funny "shine" on my skin ( it reminded me of the Coconut Bon Bon Candy Butter, which does the same thing ). Once it dried, my skin did feel soft, so that part I liked. The scent lasts a VERY long time too, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on how much you do or don't like the smell. It is very sweet smelling, and can get annoying after awhile.
I took it to work, and all the girls said that they liked it OK, but that it had like a synthetic undertone to it. So, I have it on my nightstand now, and I use VERY sparingly, as the scent can be too much after awhile, and a little bit goes a very, very long way!
In all, I was rather disappointed....especially after seeing all the great reviews on this particular scent. Maybe that's why this line of body products is being discontinued? Either way, I still love the Coconut Bon Bon Candy Butter and Smoothie Lotion, and I would recommend that one, if you can find any left in stock somewhere :0)

Would I buy this product again? Yes, if it still existed that is! I can't believe I found a yummy, mouth-watering dessert fragranced body product and they discontinued it! It was tricky enough ordering to the UK and paying customs duties on top of the shipping prices but it was so worth it! Oh the delicious fragrance lasted for hours and always got me compliments. Why oh why has it gone?

I kept turning my nose up at this product every time I saw it at Sephora ( I guess I thought it was just for kids or something), but one day, I decided to give it a try, and I loved it. Very moisturizing. Very sweet -- sometimes it's too sweet, and I have to take a break from it, but I do love the scent.

MmMmMm...this stuff is delicious. By far, Dylan's Cake Batter Butter Cream is the thickest body butter I have ever found. The smell is to die for. I should warn you that it doesn't smell like cake batter though, it's more of a store bought frosting scent. I was surprised to find the smell lingers allllll day.
The price is the only con. $20 for a small body butter is ridiculous. I don't know if I would repurchase. And seeing as DCB Butter Cream is being discontinued soon, I don't think I'll be given the chance anyways. I did put "yes" for "would you buy this product again?" though, because it IS a great product!

Sweet sassy molassy, this stuff is AMAZING. If you want to smell like buttercream frosted vanilla cake, run to Sephora and buy this. I got it for only $11. Really thick texture. Not greasy. The tub is a hefty 8 oz which is good because I'm addicted to this and fear I will run out soon. I'm dreading the day that I run out and can't find any more due to this being discontinued. I will cry like a little b**** when that happens because I've never found another scent so true to life and delicious as this one. I will have to resort to using actual frosting.

Smells great, definitely not a fake vanilla cake smell. Does a great job at moisturizing too.

Oh i love this scent so much, this is mine and my Daughter's new fave lotion!
It smells so sweet and more like a festive cake with a hint of spice than a vanilla birthday cake batter, it is a really rich smell that lingers on the skin for a long time.
It isn't really that greasy, takes a few minutes to sink into the skin and doesnt leave stickiness either.
I wish this was sold in the UK as i'm sure i'll have trouble getting hold of it after i run out, wish they had a matching fragrance!

Why was this discontinued? I am so mad. Excellent reviews here,Sephora, and on the companies website.
I contacted the company and they said it was to make room for other items.I am so bummed. =( PLEASE COME BACK!

A nice SA at Sephora was kind enough to make me a sample of this. It really is delicious! It smells pretty true to its name. Sometimes vanillas can get very artificial, but this one is really delicious. The texture is really thick and heavy, and a little seems to go a long way. It definitely does a good job at moisturizing my dry skin. Unfortunately, I go through body butter way too fast, and this stuff would end up costing me a fortune. I think it was about $22. I'm hoping I'll run into this stuff at Marshall's or TJ Maxx one day....lol

Wow, this smells so yummy. It's not a cream-like butter, it's more like a thick balm. A little goes a long way so, despite the price, it's worth it. The other scents are just as delicious but I'm definitely a cake batter girl. It absorbs quite nicely, it doesn't feel greasy which is a huge plus. Love this stuff.

I'm not normally a fan of body butters or lotions by any means, but when I saw that it was birthday cake batter (one of my favorite scents ever), I HAD to try it.
The smell is divine. Oh man. The texture is awesome - it blends right into your skin without that weird, greasy feeling. I only use a little bit of the tub each day, so it'll last me for a while. Good stuff. I ended up getting the matching shower gel, too, but the smell on that fades after a bit.

I was so excited to see this at sephora after reading about it in a magazine a few months ago. I smelled them all, and the birthday cake batter was my fave. Its a bit pricey ( I bought the lotion, no butter) at $16. Brought it home and immediately tried it on my arms. Smells just like cake batter! YUM. I love foody scents and this is dead on. The packaging is cute, and easy to dispense. Glides on smoothly and sinks right in with no greasy feel afterwards. The only drawback to me is the scent doesn't last long, and sometimes I smell a teeny weeny hint of buttered popcorn?? I will definitely repurchase this, only next time I'll get the body butter. I like to lay it on thick.

Got the chocolate cupcake. Soft chocolate fragrance-not like cocoa butter, but like chocolate cake. Subtle, very emolliant. Was the last one in the store. Want to repurchase.

I saw this in a magazine and then found it again when I went to sephora....I was sold with the yummy scents....I wanted to eat them all and I debated between the Strawberry Licorice and the Birthday cake Batter body butter and ended up in the end with the Birthday cake....they all smell divine and i will go back in the future for the others, but I am highly impressed with this formula...I have found a cream that isnt sticky or oily at all and makes my hands smooth, I keep this in my purse at all times. While I was impressed with the lotions I was not as impressed with the lip balms it reminded me of vaseline in a cheap plastic container and they smell nothing like the flavors they are suppose to be. I wouldn't purchase the lip products but I am all over the body butters and will repurchase when I run out, a little goes a long way...so this tub might last for a very long time.

I love this body butter. It is rich with shea butter, the scent is scrumptious and the texture of my skin is soft and smooth and it lasts for quite some time. I received this for a Christmas gift so I have not had the chance to try the other scents but will do so when I run out of this body butter. It is paraben free for added value... I highly recommend this.

I'm not big on brand name foody scents. I prefer to go with etailers. But this body butter is the exception to the rule. After sniffing this at Sephora, with one jar left in stock, I knew it had my name written on it! At $22 a pop, it's pricey, but the scent (delectable vanilla frosting, not fake or plastic smelling), texture (think: pure "want to lick the entire jar" frosting) and healthy ingredients (soybean oil, safflower oil, shea butter oil) make it worth every penny. Indulge!

I got this for christmas from my husband. I love the packaging and was so excited to smell it! But, it doesn't smell anything like cake batter! In fact, it smells like buttered popcorn! I am dissapointed in the scent, but the moisturing factor is great. I guess if you want to pay a lot to smell like a movie theatre, then this is the stuff for you! Im taking mine back.

I have to agree with Raven Beauty on this product. This is probably the best body butter I've ever used (texture, moisturization, staying power), but there's the smell. It doesn't smell like any cake batter I'm familiar with. There's a strong almond note with some sweetness and a buttery background. Now that doesn't sound bad, does it? Well, it is. My husband said I smelled like a bad cookie, and that was a very accurate description. And the scent is strong and has incredible staying power, so you're going to be smelling it for a long time--on sheets, a jacket you may have worn, in the shower when you wash it off. I'm not going to return it because I love the body butter base so much and I can tolerate the scent, but I will not repurchase unless she comes up with some better scents. Not recommended. Incidentally, the person who wrote the title for this review wrote it incorrectly--it's not "vanilla cake batter," it's just "birthday cake batter."

WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!! I looooove this body butter! This is most def. my favorite body butter eveeer. I kid you not the best that i've ever come across. Im a foody person and this is the most sweet delectable yummy product that i've ever put on my body. Yeah, it does smell like Birthday Cake but more so the icing part. When you open the jar it looks just like white cake icing. And it actually has the same texture of icing too!!!!! No seriously if you want to get a good idea of this product go to the grocery store, buy some betty crocker white cake icing open it up..look at it and then close your eyes and breath in. That's it!!! I love this stuff so much. It is extremely moisturizing on the skin so if you don't like that feeling try the lotion. Also a great plus is that they fill the container to the rim so you don't feel cheated AT ALL. It's just an awsome luxury product that any girl would love from i would think 7 to 100 =) And the lotion is awsome too!! I use that mixed with water to revive my second day corkscrew curls =) =) so now i can smell sweet from head to toe. Uh..please run and pick this up!!!! (if your foody..you will just die lol)
