I LOVED this foundation. I discovered it when I worked at Clarins, and now that I'm not I'm still so sad that it is discontinued, 4 years later I have yet to find a foundation as wonderful as MM. Truly Matte, which replaced it did not measure up at all!! MM was smooth going on, gave buildable coverage and lasted all day and NEVER looked cakey. I have been wearing Bare Escentuals for a few yaers but now that I would like to switch back to liquid (getting tired of buffing) I just can't find one. Please bring Multi Matte back, Clarins!!

looks good for about the first hour, after that it all falls off, even with a primer. i heard this is what was replacing the discontinued truly matte foundation, if thats true then thats really disappointing, its nowhere near as good. colours are still ok, and the bottle is good so you can easily control how much comes out, but once its nearing the end it becomes very difficult to get it out. will not repurchase.

I've used this product a couple of years ago. I like it, but it's noting special. I used 'Soft Ivory', a light shade and I used a bit of bronzing powder on top. (Clarins doesn't deliver the right shade for me; it's either too light or too dark) At first, it looked great; matt without looking cakey or 'dead'. After a few hours I had to blot my nose and had to keep blotting during the day. It stayed put on non-oily parts of my face but it 'fell apart' on my T-Zone. Coverage is okay but not great. I hated the strong smell and after using this foundation for a couple of days my skin got dry and irritated. During the hot days in the summer it didn't keep my complexion shine free and sweated off. I prefer Shiseido's Dual Balancing Foundation.

I am a redhead and have a horrible time finding a product that will match my pale skin. Within an hour of applying my make-up I am super shiny from the oil. The multimatte is the only product I've found so far that works with my skin. When I get the occasional break-out, this product covers flawlessly without looking caking and dry. I highly recommend.

I like it, but I only tried it once at the store so my review isn't so reliable. I asked for a sample, but they ran out so I got a sample of True Comfort Foundation instead in the same shade 04. I like it b/c it dries to matte finish and has medium coverage, so it controls your oilies a little bit. When I was at the Clarins counter, after the SA applied the foundation to my skin, some guy walked by and said I looked great. =) So I'm guessing this foundation does work! It accentuates dry skin. That's that only grip I have with this product. Try a sample and see if you like it. I wouldn't really purchase it b/c I'm looking for something not so matte and of a lighter coverage. Beware: it has limited shade selection.

Bllleccc! Thank God I got a sample of this before I purchased! At first, I really liked the texture and coverage (maybe a little on the heavy side), but as the day wore on my skin started to feel itchy and greasy and my chin looked like it was going to erupt! I sampled the Soft Ivory...too light (it made me look a little ghostly)...unfortunately, Praline was too dark. Worst of all...the awful fragrance this product leaves behind...I could not wait to wash it off! The Cleansing Milk for Normal/Oily Skin and the Hydra-Matte Day Lotion smelled equally as bad…the fragrance from the Cleansing Milk did eventually fade.

This product was recommended to me by a SDM sales rep.

03 Soft Ivory is the best colour match for my skin tone that I've found yet, which makes it a pretty nifty find (for myself, at least ^.~).

It does have a strong floral scent; happily I think it smells yum. YMMV, so definitely smell it before you buy it.

It feels light going on, blends smoothly, and dries to a soft powdery finish. It is very matte, as advertised. I prefer a dewy finish, however, so despite the great tone match, this is not my perfect foundation.

My largest complaint about the Clarins line in general (this product included) is that the packaging lacks glamour. Next to my SmashBox, and even my Quo, the Clarins bottles just look... well, dull. Despite the quality of the products, the Clarins marketing image isn't one that I want to buy into, visceral shopper that I am.

Wow! This is the only foundation that covers acne and scars well and lasts throughout the day for me. I am almost 30 with fine lines, very acne prone, pale with acne scars, and have oily and dry patches. This doesn't cause oiliness or dryness. No color change, streaking, or caking. Even though this is a matte foundation, skin looks natural and healthy.

I have oily, acne prone, pale skin that is super sensitive as well. I have been using this for just over 3 weeks now and it is WONDERFUL! My skin has finall cleared up, and it lasts throughout the whole day with only a little bit of touching up. I just love it, and don't think i'll be going back to anything else. I have had so many issues with break outs with my skin, and this is the only thing that hasn't caused it to just blow up completely. YAY!

This could actually be my HG foundation! I have been using it for over two weeks and am just thrilled with it! I actually didn't read the reviews on this first, and I'm glad I didn't or I would have been too "gun shy" to try it. I was actually checking out the Clarins counter for another highly rated foundation, but the woman there steered me away from that product to this one because of my oily skin. I have VERY oily skin, and had been using Jane Iredale for a few years, which I thought I was happy with. However, I was at the point where I was literally having to powder my nose EVERY HOUR, my face was so shiny! Plus, I was breaking out more and more, and feared I'd have to go back on Accutane. After two weeks with this foundation, my face looks fabulous! NO BREAKOUTS, and I only have to powder my face, maybe just ONCE A DAY! What a change! It controls the oil so well, and yet somehow manages to look super natrual -even more natual looking than the J.I. used to. I just am so happy for this product! I just am not thrilled with the sqeezeable tube, as sometimes I've accidentally sqeezed too much out, and at $36, you don't want to be wasting it. I really was skeptical that I would breakout from it, too, as it has a rosy scent to it, and usually my skin breaks out with scented foundations, but not this time. It is a PERFECT match for my difficult to match pale-yellow skin tone. I hope to find a perfect match for the summer months or a good bronzer from Clarins. Just love this foundation! Really, try it, even if your very acne-prone like myself. Esp. if you have very oily skin, you must at least try it, and ask if you can return it, if it's not for you. It is really life changing for me, and I will save money by not needing my MAC Blot Powder every hour!!!

I remember using this last year. I put it on in the morning, and at night when i come home, I have BIG new pimples on my face...I stopped using it for awhile and went back to it... same thing happened! It's matte but causes breakouts! not good~

I thought I was the only one who broke out from this supposed "top-notch' (as the cosmetician said) foundation! I use Marcelle's oil free Matte Finish foundation now. No breakouts.

Objectively, it does the job of a foundation. It stays on the face you the whole day. Great holding power. However, I won't buy this again. I want to look more natural and this foundation is too heavy. Also it causes minor breakouts, like majority of foundations do (of course, if you are acne-prone). I would recommend it to people who have problem skin that is not clear. If you are clear buy something lighter.

It does the work mattifying but I think I have more blemishes after using it. Sometimes when I smooth it on my face, tiny bits ( like eraser bits) get rolled off. -weird- Definitely not going bak to this foundation!!

I was looking for an oil free, oil controlling/absorbing matte foundation so I tried this. I did the good old paper/oil test and could not BELIEVE how much oil is in this foundation. Disgusting. No wonder I broke out from it so much. True Radiance, another Clarins product, has not a drop of oil in it whatsoever...I dont know what Clarins was thinking with this product.

This foundation provides smooth + even coverage, but it's on the heavy side and doesn't really leave a matte finish. I was a bit disappointed with this as I tend to really like Clarin's products.

I didn't like this foundation very much. I have combination skin and my t-zone tends to get pretty oily. This really didn't help control the oil and the coverage is too sheer and tends to look cakey after a while.
