My husband got himself talked into buying this one by a sales lady, and since it was a new thing on the marked back then it was only predictable that it would have been most sales assistants' first choice. Although this perfume is not "him" at all ( my DH - a once-hippie ( and still at heart! ) and a jazz musician with a flair for arranging everything he touches into an allegedly organized chaos ) the Antidote turns out to be exactly THE antidote to all things familiar to him and leads my DH out of his comfort zone. When he wears it with a suit and a crispy white shirt ( a VERY rare occasion ) I see him in a totally different light. He is still what he is, but in a new temporary role of a sleek'n'smooth businessman, a one-night lover that sprays this perfume casually while fixing his messed-up hair in a hurry before jumping into a convertible, never to be seen again. There's something laundry-clean and starch-collar-straight in this perfume ( so wear it with immaculately ironed clothing only! ) and something untameable, something that gifts a man with a "like water of a duck's back" quality. If I were a male and a sharp-minded one, I would wear this and change women like gloves until I use up the last drop of my Antidote! :)

Okay, I saw the online listed notes as bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit, mint and Guatemalan cardamom, Sambac jasmine, cinnamon, orange blossom, lavender, African geranium, nutmeg, freesia and violet, sandalwood, vanilla, Indonesian patchouli, white musk, amber, caramel, incense, Texan white cedar, Guaiacum wood and Tonka bean. Then I tried this and thought "Wow, all of that?" Because it goes on with the standard citrus men's cologne, with a hint of the caramel and a dark something behind like powdered incense, but just a hint. It mellows as it goes to a warm caramelly tonka with that top note of men's cologne still, but much nicer and not as sweet as the mid stage. Still, a bit odd to have the strong bergamot/woods and that sweet, warm caramel note. But it works. I don't know why, but it does. Interesting.

My daughter's signature scent is Flowerbomb so I was interested in trying Antidote when it came out a few years ago. I instantly loved it. I thought, this would be the perfect scent for a man. Compelling, crisp, unforgettable. Since I'm a perfumeaholic I have quite a list for myself but this year I caved in and had to buy this for my dh. When he puts this on not only is he irresistible but I need to put this on myself also.
Notes: Mint leaves, bergamot, black pepper, cinnamon, sandalwood, ebony and patchouli
I wouldn't be interested in trying a scent after reading these notes but do not be put off. I might have guessed lavender was a note since my dh can wear it and smell wonderful. Mint in Antidote doesn't come through as mint as i know it. I detect wood, clean, crispness. Try this!!!

Yes, yes, yes! I MADE my bf get this...he usually wears Armani. Very masculine yet soft, sexy, woodsy, sweet (but not overly) In my sense just perfect!!
p.s. and he loves it too ;)

I loved the name of this - I purchased this for my boyfriend (who doesn't really like cologne) in an airport duty free shop and it is one of the best fragrance purchases I have ever made, even though it was an impulse buy. I figured that since my boy likes Flowerbomb on me, he'd like this, and I was right. However, this is nothing at all like Flowerbomb. It is sexy and slightly woodsy with a hint of something sweet....but not too sweet to render the fragrance unmasculine. It's just right, in my opinion. The packaging is also very alluring. The box and the top of the bottle both have dripping wax accents - very cool and intriguing.

Bought this for my husband. He likes the strong, woody, spicy, open not so subtle scents. HIs fav is Versace Blue Jeans. You have to be either a European or a very confident man to wear either of these scents as they are strong and have a more floral loudness about them, so many American men would shy away from them. My husband is Italian and dresses very smartly so this scent suits him to a T.
