I've only been using this product for a little while, but I am pleased with it so far. Last week I used it on my face and neck, but forgot to put sunscreen below. I spent a whole day at a school carnival and my decolletage area got very burned. It looked like I was wearing a tomato red collar, because my face and neck didn't look as if they had gotten any sun at all. Proof that the SPF in this actually does something. Too early to tell if it will help with fine lines, but I will be sticking with this for the sun blocking properties alone!

I love this cream and it has been a staple in my routine for years and years (even though I stray to other products I always land back on this one) The texture is whipped dreaminess, sinks in quickly and smooths over pores making it an excellent makeup base although I still do use a separate pore filler/primer as well just to cover some of my larger pores and small scars. Also, I haven't had any problems whatsoever with breakouts from it. Of course SPF 15 is obviously not adequate if you are going to be in the blazing sun for very long so I would suggest one of Neutrogena's higher rated SPFs on those days and this one for average everyday (not in the direct sun for long) moisturizer. I anticipate I will be using this moisturizer for years and year and years..Please Neutrogena DON'T MESS WITH A GOOD THING OR DISCONTINUE THIS....Are you hearing me!?! lol...

Omg! Bought this for my husband actually and ran out of my philosophy hope in a jar so I used his. I've never looked back. You can't beat the price. It reduces pore size, moisturizes like a champ, minimizes fine lines, has SPF, reduced my acne. In fact, I think thanks to this and Alpha Hydrox retinol resQ my skin has literally NEVER looked better in my life. Total HG product for me. If your curious go get yourself a tube ASAP. It's only $11.99 at Walmart. You just can't go wrong. The only con I can think of is that as my skin matures this may not suit me later in life. Probably need something with a little more kick. But for now the amount of retinol in it is just right for my skin and I dread the day it won't work for me anymore.

As someone with combo acne-prone skin type, I am very picky with my daytime moisturizer because my standards are extremely high. My ideal daytime moisturizer must: be non-greasy, equally moisturize & balance all parts of my face (dry patches on cheeks during winters, oily t-zone, oily eyelids), have SPF 20, pass the overnight test, look great under foundation & makeup, and cannot irritate my skin or cause acne. This moisturizer have passed all of those requirements. Because I am only 25, I cannot attest to its anti-wrinkle function, but I have been using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Intensive Night Cream along with this and have noticed firmer and tighter skin. Would I buy this again? YES! However, I notice that this line can be rather pricy ($20+) at local pharmacies, so I would suggest researching and buying it online (i.e. Amazon) for a fraction of the price.

PROs:
+ Non-greasy
+ Firms & tightens my skin overnight
+ Doesn't break out my acne-prone skin
+ Calms & reduces my redness
+ Looks great under makeup
+ On Paula's Choice/Cosmetic Cop's TOP "Best Retinol Products" list
+ Affordable for an anti-wrinkle skincare product ($10-20), especially if you buy it online. Otherwise, local pharmacies usually charge $20+ for this skincare line.

CONs:
+ Must be careful with extracting cream because it is easy to push out too much cream due to the traditional tube design

Decent moisturization, maybe a little bit of improvement in tone, but nothing major.

gosh, this product turned my face sleek nasty oily, dull and broke out without mercy. I have used 3/4 of tube, the upper side of the tube has been slightly bended because I pushed the contents downward which caused tear and the lotion leaked out which is not soo hygiene.
That's is, I am using the rest of the lotion for my eyes. I would not buy this product again.

I use the one without SPF 15 and it works amazing!
UPDATE: After awhile it started to clog my pores :( I took this out of regime and my skin is back to normal. Now I use it as a eye cream. Works really well for dark circles and crows feet :)

Love this product!! Bought it because I just got off accutane 2 weeks ago and my derm recommended me to use a product with retinol in it to keep the retin A in my system.. May be a little drying.. i use the neutrogena moisturizer for combo skin in the daytime and this for night. Keeps my skin moisturized all day :) I noticed that it helped clear my skin.. No breakouts whatsoever.. Hope it takes off mu scarring though.. Will post an update!!

I have been using Philosophy HIAJ forever now. I got tired of spending SO much on something that really didn't DO that much. So I started researching and decided to try this out based on the other MUA reviews.

So far, so good. I have no complaints. Aside from the annoying tube design (if you squeeze too hard, too much comes out...no way to save it..my clumsy hands don't appreciate these things), it been great. I pair this with their more intensive night cream before bed. I love that I could buy both for less than I would have paid for one jar of Philo. The first couple of days that I started using it, I was expecting the status quo burn, which didn't happy until like day 4 or 5. Weird but whatever.

I like it. Especially for the price. I have added some other things to my skincare routine to compensate, since I have very very dry skin (I have a condition known as Sjogren's, so my skin is pretty dry without intervention). I exfoliate more than average, and I always moisturize in the morning AND at night. Everyday.

I've been using this for a little while now and I have seen an improvement in my skin. Nothing drastic as I'm only 21, so I use this as a preventative measure. I have noticed that my skin is smoother and has less redness. The texture of my skin has improved too. When I get a breakout it clears up much faster than it used to. It's not a thick moisturizer and is quite emollient so it soaks in quickly. Your skin feels hydrated without having to slather a thick layer of cream on your face. I will repurchase.

Nope! It doesn't work.

It doesn't reduce fine lines or wrinkles or discolored spots on your face.

What does it do exactly? Well, it makes your pores smaller and makes your skin look moisturized. So you might have the illusion that it's working. In fact, take a closer look, no spot is fading and no line is reduced. They are still there.

You might ask if you just want to moisturize, why pay more for this cream, you can get cheaper products. True. The only thing this cream is better than other moisturizer is that it doesn't clog my skin, it feels very light and it is easy to apply. No discomfort when you apply the cream.

So if you want a better moisturizer that doesn't clog your skin and is not greasy. This is it. But if you are seriously looking for the features such as reducing lines and fading spots, this cream is useless.

Edit: I am trying to finish the product to see if it gets better. I put this on my leg too in order to finish it quickly. Nope! It gets worse. I think it actually darkened my dry patches on my face. It does nothing for my skin. If I don't apply this moisturizer for a day, my skin is dull and dry. That just tells you it didn't improve the skin at all. When the product is on the face that day, you see moist skin due to the fact that the cream sits on the face and it creates illusion that it gets better. When you watch it off, the skin is back to dull again.

Update: Now I think about it, this product can be a good acne cream to clear the skin. Just like the acne cream, this thing dries up your skin. But hey, it does clear pimples and makes it heal faster. But after you wash your face, your face has no cream on it, you will notice this product doesn't moisturize your face at all, it actually makes it drier, just like an acne cream. LOL!

Very much like the night cream, but with spf. I love both products. Very moisturizing and helps with wrinkles and my dark circles. Doesn't smell at all. Only complaint is not much product for the cost and the packaging is blah.

I love this product so much! Within a week my skin looked better, and while obviously the results haven't gone up exponentially from there, I feel I am still seeing improvement. It is is important to note, though, that consistency is key (as is is with all retinol products.) I definitely notice the difference if I stay at my boyfriends for a few nights (where I just keep some cheap Ponds cream, though it might be time to invest in a tube for his place too), though luckily a few days back with this and my skin pops back to where it was when I was using it. Definitely a great product, I've repurchased and will continue. Though this new bottle I just bought looks/feels a little different, so I'll update on that when possible.

****one more thing- for all of you fighting fine/moderate lines, other sun damage or just trying to prevent sun damage, this is NOT enough SPF! Especially since retinol makes your skin more sun sensitive. my rule is 30+ when cloudy, 50+ when sunny, 70+ when I'm going to be outside for more than 20 minutes at a time.

I recently came back to this stuff and have to wonder why I ever stopped... Love it. Not a miracle worker - what REALLY is??? But it does what it says it will do. And after coming back to it for about a week, my skin looks healthier and brighter than it did a week ago. I love the price and would happily pay department store rates for it if I had to. HG daytimer...

So this is a premature review but I will be sure to update in a few weeks, or as soon as I see results. I'm on my fourth day of using this product, but I am already quite pleased ...not because my fine lines are disappearing (which is what I want above all) but because it hasn't irritated my skin or turned it red at all. EXCEPT around my eyes. But this it to be expected considering its not for your eyes. My skin has felt smoother and softer. I should tell you I also have been using ponds dry skin moisturizer on top of the neutrogena cream.
I like that the packaging is in a hygienic tube, rather than tub. And if all goes well I will most definitely be re purchasing. Also I should mention this cream is normally 25 dollars at my local drugstore, but I only paid 17, which made me happy :)

I like this for my oily/combo/sensitive skin. It doesn't cause any redness but I am not sure how effective the spf is since retnol makes you more sensitive to the sun. I prefer the night time version of this.

Great daily moisturizer! I love the fact that is is fragrance free, has spf 15, the hygienic packaging and doesn't make my face oily. It seems to be creamy and quite thick when it comes out of the tube, but sinks in fast and feels very lightweight. Skinf feels and looks soft, healthy, hydrated. I love it. I don't know about the anti wrinkle-qualities because I don't have wrinkles yet myself. Without the retinol in it I would also use it. Recommended, also for the oilier skintypes.

This is a nice workhorse product. SPF + retinol + antioxidants is a great combination. I use this in the morning and for the past few weeks, my skin tone is improving, and I've also noticed some darker spots fading (I am also on Differin, which I am sure is helping in these areas). The only reason I rated this 4 stars is it does make my t-zone pretty oily. Fortunately that hasn't translated into any new breakouts, I just have to blot several times a day. Really nice product.
