Alot of people are commenting on the fragrance but it isnt overpowering it just smells like moisutriser to me and it doesnt last! Love this cream its super moisturising in the winter time and because i have super dry skin i always get dry spots and scaly feeling skin but this takes it away completely and it lasts ages i don't need to apply it daily my skin feels soft and moisturised for a few days after, has a lovely feel to it as well!

Due to the harsh winter I had dehydrated skin and needed a super strong moisturizer. This came at a decent price and since I have been using other Clarins products and being happy with them I decided to give it a try. At the beginning I used it day and night, to repair my parched skin. It feels soft, but not greasy, with a texture better suited for the night. During the day it created a good basis for my make- up, but tended to flake an create little rolls of grease. After a week my skin started to improve and now I use it only at night, but the results are what I'd describe as average. I prefer the Chanel moisturizer or Clinique. Not bad, but I won't buy again.

Due to extreme combination skin (super oily t-zone, super dry rest of face) I have been searching for an ultra hydrating cream which can be applied night and day. It has to work under makeup and not cause foundation to go super shiny. I am very pleased with this product. Jibbed at the price (£33) but it comes in a great big tub filled to the very top, so will last ages. I purchased this and the Normal/dry variant at the same time, and was given a 4-product GWP bag and extra items to try as well, so felt the total haul was good value for money. It provides moisture all day (or all night) and does not feel greasy. Plenty of products can make your skin feel nice for two hours but this really does work for many hours. When this eventually runs out I would not hesitate to re-purchase.

I have sensitive combination skin that gets easily dehydrated and this is the best moisturiser i have ever used. i have tried other moisturisers, both from clarins and from other brands, but i keep coming back to this one.

First I got this as a sample and I used it for a week. I thought the scent was too strong but it did moisture my skin. But I didn't like the scent. I then ended up using Dermalogica Intensive Moisturizer and that one really moistured my skin. I used it over Clarins hydraquench serum. It worked brilliantly! But now when it's 20 degrees minus. That skin routine doesn't work quite as well as before winter anymore. I get dry patches, not so visible perhaps, during the day.
So I decided to get this Clarins hydraquench rich cream over the Clarins hydraquench serum. I've only used it for a week, but I don't think I like it. When i first applied, it stung a bit but I just ignored it. Now a week later, I have redness or red spots all over my left cheek. And it doesn't keep my skin as moistured as my previous skin routine.
Ahh, it's such a shame. I really want to like this crème especially now that I've bought it and it's so expensive. I need to switch back to my previous skin routine!

I bought this in attempt to try yet another "super hydrating" cream for the winter. Having not tried clarins yet, but being unsuccessful with other premium skin care ranges i kept an open mind. my skin goes bright red, itchy and dry on my t-zone so it was so important to have a rich moisturiser that will stop the sensitivity flare ups while moisturising. This is quite rich, with the consistency of butter. On my skin it sinks in well and leaves a slight residue on the skin but this feels moisturising and nourishing to me and stops my skin feeling tight which makes it itch and go red. I dont think this is suitable for any other skin type other than dry/very dry. So this worked out a perfect find for me! I think its going to be my HG moisturiser for the winter! Packaging is great. And this stuff will last as only a little is needed! Price - would u put a price on your healthy.....didnt think so! Same for skin care! You have it for the rest of your life. Look after it!

when you are sad and blue and your skin is not loving you because of the cold winter wind or you were outside too long this is your friend
very emoilient good for sensitive skin (as least mine) leaves a protective not oily layer
does have a chance of breaking me out if I use as a night cream or use everyday- so I could take off one lippy - but has recovered me from windburn and cold crisis more than once with a couple of applications so I just can't deduct anything
surprising texture almost waxy but glides on and absorbs and creates a protective barrier without irritation
always in my top drawer in the winter

I have been using this everyday now for a month, sometimes in the morning under makeup and then sometimes at night. I bought this because the summertime always makes my skin dry and then we had a long period of time here with low humidity and my skin was even drier than normal. It's very thick and highly fragranced. Fragrance rarely bothers me in skincare, and I don't mind. I don't think I've ever seen a cream this thick before in a drugstore preparation, so I'm glad that I went to the department store to look for solutions. Very little is needed and it helps if the skin is a bit damp so that it can be patted on. It sinks in quickly for me. My skin has turned around and is not longer flaky like it was and feels less tight. I can see this as a good barrier cream under sunscreen for winter outdoor activities. The jar was 1.7 oz and it will take me forever to go through it, even using it each day. In short, it solved my tight skin problem and I will continue to use. I also don't think the price was that bad for the amount and quality that is received. This is another Clarins product that I'm very happy with.

Amazing product!
Love the packaging, love the feel, love the clarins unique way of the 'patting' rather than rubbing application, and the scent is divine!
Love it!
It is great for my dry skin and has worked wonders! My skin is also very sensitive and has not irritated me at all!
Would deffinitely buy again without a doubt!

I quite like this moisturizer. I don't think that I like it enough to shell out the full price on it, but I received it for free when I worked beauty retail and went to a Clarins event.
PROS
-It really does hydrate my skin and manages to keep it soft and flake-free during the harsh, Canadian winter.
-It has a lovely scent. I find that many creams smell too perfumey, but this product has just enough of a light aroma to be pleasant, but not over the top or irritating.
CONS
-Very expensive. I guess it's somewhat justified since all Clarins products are organic and plant-based, but come on. I could find an equally hydrating cream at the drugstore (*cough cough*, Ponds Dry Skin Cream).
-The texture is super thick and may break some people out. I didn't have a problem because my skin was pretty chapped while using this, but this not something that I would use during the summer months.
-Does not contain SPF.
I like this product, but for me personally, it's not worth the full retail price. If I'm paying $60 for a cream, I want SPF and some serious anti-aging benefits. My skin gets dry during the Winter, but it's not unmanageable. But for someone with chronically dry, sore, tight skin that a standard cream can't heal, this would be nice to try.

Me No Likey Much. I have dehydrated skin, and bought this twice. Once, in the summer. That was a mistake. I live in Toronto, where the summer is like a very large sauna room with shops and a Starbucks, and some trams and a lot of people and dogs and stuff. You don't want to be wearing this stuff in those conditions, under makeup, and sun-screen, unless you fancy a whole load of spots and want your pores to go a bit ballistic.
I bought it again in the winter, thinking the summer issues were due to, erm, summer. I still live in Toronto, where the winter is like Narnia but without the witch. Or the wardrobe. Or any children from the 1930s saying 'Golly!'. And it's still rubbish, and still makes my pores go ballistic, and still gives me spots.
Where oh where can I find a good winter moisturizer?

I bought this cream recently my skin has been quite dry due to the winter cold. The smell is very pleasant and so is the texture. It is very hydrating and feels nice on my skin. It kind of reminds me of the typical Olay pink moisturizing cream but way more expensive. I have combination skin and it has not caused me to break out so I am going to stick to it!

I have never had dry skin before, however a combination of stress, the weather and Clinique's Anti-Blemish range (waaay too harsh for me) left me with flaky, dry skin that made applying foundation a nightmare. I tried various moisturisers to no avail, however I went to the Clarins counter and the SA suggested I try this range and I love it, it really works!!
Pros: Nice fragrance, lovely texture, actually works!
Cons: Expensive but worth it, sometimes makes me oily.

Great Moisturizer! Will definitely repurchase.
I have combo skin and the other moisturizers I have tried always seemed to leave a slightly greasy feel. This cream absorbs right away without a hint of greasiness. It's not heavy at all. I would even say it's mattifying. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels nice and smooth. LOVE IT.
Con: a bit too scented for my liking, but not enough to discourage me from using it.

Upon applying to skin I can feel the burning sensation instantly. Should have known better not to leave it on. But I really was hoping it wasn't the cream. I had to wash it off after 10 min of suffering. Not only it burns when comes to contact with me skin but my face turned red as if it came to contact with boiling water. Glad I was trying out the sample.

I got a lot of free samples of this from the Clarins counter on a stockup visit, and took them on a 4wk holiday to Hong Kong & New Zealand.
My skin is dry, with embarassing flakey bits, and the Clarins lady suggested this was a better choice against my usual No7 Protect & Perfect.
The cream itself feels sufficiently moist without being heavy or greasy, which many creams/lotions targetting dry skin usually do. The smell is fresh (not quite laundry smelling), and is ok to me. It goes on easily and smoothly, and sinks into my skin well - not sitting on top, which is good. My skin did feel nice afterwards, and when I used it under my makeup, it didnt affect it negatively. I didn't however think it was any better than the No7 Protect & Perfect day & night creams, and in the UK the price comparison is £19.50/£20.50 for 50ml day/night creams and £32 for 50ml Hydraquench, so an extra 30% for an unnoticeable difference means I'll stick to No7 for the moment.

For about a year now I've been wearing the HydraQuench with spf. I love it for daytime. Recently, I started getting this stuff for the evenings and the wintery weather. I use both now. Both are stellar products.
If you are exceedingly dry like me, try this stuff. It's magic. I use even less of my prescription cream now that I have this. It melts in and absorbs super fast.

I have never written a review for anything before, but am a huge product junkie! My skin is so dry and flakey in the winter it's embarrassing! I have literally tried everything, including la mer, and nothing has worked to really moisturize it...Until last night when I gave Clarins Hydraquench a try...I'm still laying in bed and grabbed my computer to write a review because I woke up and touched my face- it is as smooth as a babies butt!! No exaggeration! I woke up my fiance to feel it because I was in such disbelief! I love this product, and if it does that to my skin, then it's priceless.
