i have owned this for a year now and it is a great powder brush. it is big but not super big like some of the powder brushes and that is what i like about it. it has a little bit of tapered tip which lets me get around the nose and under the eyes easily. the bristles are very soft, feels similar to my laura mercier blush brush and paula dorf cheek brush. the brush itself is very light. it is quite long and so it is not ideal to travel with but works perfect for me at home, daily use. i recommend getting it at sephora during friends and family sale!

While I was applying my setting powder this morning, the brush head of this brush fell off the brush handle. I literally froze in shocked silence as it clattered onto the floor and rolled away. I received this brush as a gift and only started using it a few months ago. I have since washed it 4-5 times in the same manner that I wash all my brushes: I wet only the tips of the bristles, swirl a bit of baby shampoo and then rinse, taking care not to get the area where the bristles are glued to the brush head wet, let alone where the brush head is attached to the handle.

I have a set of brushes from NuSkin that have lasted for more than 5 years with everyday use and washing every 10 days. I have three brushes from Everyday Minerals (concealer, foundation and flat top) that have lasted more than 3 years with everyday use. BOTH are a FRACTION of the horrendous rip-off that Bobbi Brown charges. I am appalled that a brush that retails for US$55-60 could fall apart in a matter of weeks. I will not repurchase this or any of Bobbi Brown's other products.

I absolutely love, love, love this brush! The hair is ultra soft – it doesn’t disturb the makeup underneath. But most important of all it doesn’t irritate my hyper sensitive skin on my cheeks. Further, it deposits the perfect amount of powder on my face so that it never looks cakey or made up.
It is my absolutely HG powder brush!

Fluff fluff fluff, thats how this brush feels on the skin. It applies powder gently and super smooth. Totally worth it!

This review is for the Bobbi Brown 10 inches powder brush with the lighter handle. This brush currently retails for $60 and it is a very good brush but the price is just simply a turn off. The brush bristles are made of goat hair. The hair is very soft unlike it's previous 8 inches predecesor. The quality of this brush is much better than that of the MAC 150. This brush is not scratchy like the MAC 150 of which alot of people raved about. However, if you take into consideration of the price of this brush and the overall quality of the brush, I don't really think it is worth it. Essentially buying this brush equates to buying into the Bobbi Brown brand and not necessary a great quality brush.

Update: Bringing it down to 3 lippies from 4 lippies. I recently purchased another Bobbi Brown powder brush in April 2013 and the quality is not the same. This bristles of this is scratchier then the essential one that I previously reviewed. Not as bad as the MAC face brushes but it is still not worth $60 which is the price of this brush.

I love Bobbi Brown products. At Dillards I was looking for a powder brush and found the Bobbi Brown powder brush. Great brush, but for $55,00 I declined. Isn't this a little too expensive?

I adore this powder brush. Soft, perfectly applies powder to your face, doesn't shed, washes well. What else do you want? I have the long and short handle version (the latter for when I travel. Bought the long one before I knew there was a short one otherwise I would have just bought the short one).

Best powder brush ever.It has really the softest hairs ever.Doesn't shed when you're applying you're makeup. Most importantly it deposits the PERFECT amount of powder on your face so that it never looks cakey. Pure love, this brush is!
p.s I recommend using baby shampoo to wash this brush because baby shampoo is really gentle.

RIS and its a gorgeous brush.I love the light wooden handle and the longer length,it handles really well. The head is a lovely shape, soft but quite dense and it applies powder/bronzer like a dream. Its an expensive brush, moreso than MAC but if I ever have a spare few quid I will get another one.

Love these so much. I read somewhere that BB guarantees these for life! I am not sure how that works but the powder brush is amazing. Spreads product evenly and lightly. I use this for my Becca Hyawatha and Mac MSF's. Awesome!

Wow! I am so surprised that this brush didn't score higher.
I absolutely adore this brush! The hair is amazingly soft and when I use it for setting powder it does a fantastic job at not disturbing the makeup underneath. Another thing that I love about it is the slightly tapered tip which gets into areas that most powder brushes don't.

The price is the one big con ($55.00 us) but thankfully I purchased it in a set on ebay (confirmed real) so I didn't break the bank.

Overall great but pricey brush! :)

Great brush. Like most Bobbi Brown brushes, this one is super soft and durable. I have such a problem with certain brushes poking me in the face as I use them and its pretty painful. However I have never had that problem with this brush. It is so soft and doesnt shed terribly. Most brushes no matter how high end they are will shed some what and this one is no different but like most other high quality brushes this one sheds very little and never enough to damage the integrity of the brush itself. It wont thin out on you from shedding. I have cleaned it many times and its held up wonderfully and stays as soft as the day I bought it. This brush is best used for medium coverage. It is not super fine with bristles far apart that lightly dust your face and it is not a super dense brush packed with bristles that will hold a lot of powder and give you a heavy coverage. This brush lies somewhere in between. The bristles are not too dense but not too sparse so for a nice sheer coverage this brush works great. I dont think it can be used for all your powder needs since sometimes you will need a heavier or lighter coverage but for a medium finish brush this is great.

I love this brush. I have yet to find another powder brush that compares to this one. This is so soft!! its an absolute pleasure to use. I can use this brush to apply powder without fear of the brush upsetting my make up. This is my HG powder brush and I am absolutely shocked at the poor reviews. I can't live wthout this one!! Did I mention how soft this brush is????
UPDATE: I still love this brush but it has a contender in the Mac 138.

I love this brush. This brush is extremely soft and does not shed. It evenly applies loose powder. Its even softer than my Shu Uemura powder brush.

This is a great brush! Deposits the perfect amount of powder and is easy to handle. Ultra soft too and feels good on your face. I like it way better than Shu Uemura and Shu Uemura is well known for the brushes. I find the brush is a bit long and can be tricky using it the first couple of times but after adjusting to it, it's a great brush. Definitely will purchase again if something happens to it. I'm crossing my fingers nothing will happen as I expect this to last for years. I wash it every week and have no problems with shedding.

Geez, lucky I didn't pay full price for this. The finished shape of the brush makes it suitable for precise powder application not loose or dusting powders. The claim is the bristles are pure goat hair, but they are so tough! For anyone who thinks the likes of these top end brushes have "soft" bristles, try A'SQUIRREL brushes made from pure goat/squirrel/sable hairs, they are divine and much fairly priced.

This is the first "real" makeup brush I purchased. It started me on my long road to ruin... I've had it for 6 years and it's still in great shape. It does shed occasionally, but considering I've used it this long and it still looks close to brand new, I really can't complain. I have sensitive skin and Bobbi Brown brushes are about the only ones that don't make me itch. This also picks up just the right amount of powder and gives me a nice even finish. My absolute HG.

Very soft brush for powder application, does give a nice even finish. I am quite happy in terms of that. But, for that price i expect no hair falling out from the brush, but no~~~. it happens everytime i use it. Im not happy with BB brush in that aspect. Dun think i will purchase any more BB brushes, its quality doesnt match with its price, overpriced for sure.
