I like the top on this product, it snaps closed and keeps well in the shower. If your looking for a cleanser similar to Proactive, I think this is a great alternative.

For a product with BP, I prefer something thicker so it doesn't run down my face to places I don't want it. I'll continue using this but won't repurchase because it's too thin and runs in my eyes and down my neck.

I started breaking out when I went on birth control so I went to CVS and bought this thinking it would help. I think it might actually be making my skin worse. It seems like every time I use it a new pimple pops up on my face. I don't think this is the right product for me.

I love it! Best stuff ever. Ran out so I bought Dermalogica (3x pricier). Dermalogica's cleanser works a little better but I dont want to mix & match different products. I used it for about a year before switching & now I plan to switch back.

This system is fantastic. A while back, I bought Proactiv to exterminate the stubborn acne lingering on my chin, and it made my problem worse. So I ended up getting this.

I've been using it for less than three weeks, and the only thing I have for pimples is a couple small ones, hardly noticeable, and a little scar. It hasn't done that much to help even my complexion, but It still did more than I expected it to do. Now I use about a quarter of the foundation I used to, because now I only have to worry about the redness around my nose.

So.. this not only cleared up my face, but it FIXED the damage of proactive... for half the price? I agree.

The only thing I must say is if you use it too much, your face will burn sometimes- I fixed this by alternating the cleanser with a good, gentle, exfoliant (Since this wash doesnt really exfoliate anyway...) every other day, and I am still getting- and keeping my results, and the burning went away.

Dermatologist recommended

PROS
-effective for clearing mild acne
-continues to work (i've been using it for 4-5 months now)
-gets rid of my big pimples (now I get the occasional small ones)
-does not feel harsh

CONS
-purged my acne A LOT the first few weeks (maybe 5-6 pimples on each cheek)
-face wash does NOT foam (may not feel like it's working)
-all of the products you don't feel it working on your skin (no foam, no sting)
-face wash does not wash off makeup well

OVERALL
I'm glad with this purchase and do not regret it at all. If your skin "likes" benzoyl peroxide this is worth buying. However, I'd buy a benzoyl peroxide SPOT TREATMENT along with for pimples. I use OXY because it has 10% benzoyl peroxide and I apply it only at night so your skin doesn't get to used to it.

OTHER NOTES
*benzoyl peroxide chemically kills the acne bacteria so it may be harsh for first time users
*your skin may get used to benzoyl peroxide and it may lose its effectiveness and not kill the bacteria that causes acne through time

the cleansing is OK. not good and not bad.
BUT the toner is too harsh..smell just like alcohol, and burns my skin though sometimes it really has effect.
I don't wanna to cure my acne but get the serious redness on skin.
and I wanna say, the really effective product is the 3rd step. Now I just can use the 3rd step and using it singly also OK.
I don't dare to use other steps.
And why I should buy all of 3? that's the question...

This was the first acne product I used when I started going through hormone issues. I really liked this product, but felt that I needed it stronger. I never knew they had a severe one or else I would have gotten it. The kit did clear up some small acne, but the cysts were difficult to fight. It made my face peel, but that was it. I walked around school one day and everyone kept staring at me so I looked in the mirror and realized I had this gigantic patch of skin coming off my forehead. It was really embarrassing, but this only happened once. I recommend this product for moderate acne like it says. If you have cystic I highly recommend the severe kit(:

love this product!! i've been using Proactiv, but i ran out of the cleanser before the other steps (of course) so i bought this intending just to get me through until my next Proactiv package came, but the AcneFree ended up being so much better for me. my skin finally started clearing up, and it didn't dry my skin out. i recently had a tough time finding this in stores, so i had to go back to the Proactiv cleanser, and my face is insanely dry and flakey. AcneFree is much more gentle for me, and easier/cheaper to get than the Proactiv cleanser!

OMG!!....this product cleared up my acne. I am an adult with cystic acne on my face and neck. My acne was very gross and I was very insecure about it. This product cleared up my acne within a week of using it.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone suffering from severe acne. I am surprised it does not have more positive reviews.

Oh I'm so glad I found this! My sister bought it on sale and I used it out of desperation one night when I was breaking out. I was previously using zest soap and the basis vitamin bar - anything simple because of how sensitive my skin is. Let me tell you, I am SO sensitive. Everything breaks me out! I'm literally allergic to salycic acid, I break out in terrible cystic acne. It took me way too long to figure that one out. I used to use Proactivs cleanser, which is way way too strong and too drying and irritating and still broke me out. I was scared this was going to be similar. And I really didn't like the 'stays in your pores even after you wash it off' thing. I've always thought what's the point of benzoyl peroxide in a cleanser when it just rinses off? Well obviously they're doing something right. Helped me clear up right away - from the very first time I used it my skin just felt nice and good. The painful acne I had at the time stopped hurting. Everything cleared up. I'm so happy with this. The fact it cleared me up and didnt irritate my skin or make me super red - A+. If it can help my impossible skin it can help anyones. It IS a little bit drying - I don't actually feel any tightness but there's some dry spots on my cheeks. Not bad at all, and nothing like proactiv. Thank god.

I'm 39 years old and really didn't have acne as a teen but when I hit my 30's..UGH.. Got to love hormones, NOT.

Tried lost of things but it never worked. Got something on-line and it worked but went out of town for a month and ran out. That's why I hate ordering things only available on-line.

When I got home I say this stuff and looked it up. Good reviews so I tried it. Loved it. I have combo skin and the acne was normally chin, and upper checks. This cleaned me up and kept me clean. Now I breakout free. And I use makeup every day (bareminerals) live in Las Vegas, lots of sun. And no problem with skin being dried out. And I hate having to do a lot of work. I'm simple and only use this in the morning.

My only problem is the packaging. I always run out of the wash first. But that you can buy a bigger bottle in the store. But then ran out of toner and had 3 bottles of the repair lotion sitting there. So I got the toner pads that you can buy separate at the store. No problems but now out of repair lotion and have 3/4 big bottle of wash home and half of the pads. Ugh they need to sell it separately too in the stores.

I love it so much that I cave my boyfriend's 12 yr old daughter several of the extra little bottles to try it out. She just started breaking out because well you know. Not sure how its working, she is 12 and I'm not there to make sure she uses it every day.

This is a great product and actually DOES WORK however, I have extremely sensitive skin so I can't use it twice a day. It does an excellent job of clearing my acne and keeping my face clean. The cleanser, toner, and lotion are all amazing on their own. However, I just wish they weren't too harsh. because I remembered how much it helped my acne but after 4 days of using it twice a day, I started to notice my face stinging severely in pain and red blotchiness around my whole face. I lost every bit of moisture and had to use 3 moisturizers to get my face half as soft as it naturally would be. I had this for about a year and stop using it and i forgot why I did but I just found it again and started using it agai nbI think this works best for people with oily, very acne-prone skinned people like me but depending on how sensitive your skin is, maybe only use the cleanser 2-3 times a week but the toner and lotion can be used everyday. I think it is just too much benzoyl peroxide at once. But still, I really really love these products, just I wouldn't buy it again due to my sensitivity.

I love this stuff. I guess depending on the type of skin you have like every product it works for some and doesn't for others and you won't know until you try. For me I don't have severe acne but it's persistent and my face is prone to eruptions now and then but I am okay if I am using a system that works and this is the first system to ever clear up my skin entirely. Yes it is a regiment and you have to do this twice a day, since I have sensitive skin and yes it does dry out your skin you also must use another oil free moisteriser in conjection with this product, you can even try just using it once a day or every other day AM PM type thing. When I moved to the UK I had run out and then all hell broke lose and thankfully I found some on ebay and only now my skin is getting smooth and clearing up again...so I do NEED this product as it's effective. If you find it drying or harsh then figure out a routine that works for you. I really avoid my eye area when using this and moisterise my skin a lot in between treatments like when I put on my makeup I mix my foundation with either neutrogena oil free moisteriser or nivea oil free moisteriser and it's fine. I will continue to use this as long as it works and so far I've had no complaints at all!

My daughter and I use Walmart's Equate version of Proactiv (the 3 step system). The bottle of Acne Free cleanser is much bigger, and both are 2.5 % BP, so I thought we'd try it. Big mistake. This gave both of us terrible break outs. It's not as scrubby as the Equate, and it's more slimy and smells weird. A definite mistake.

I like this, but I can't use it everyday, because it's too harsh and makes my face red and makes my pores look huuuuuge if I use it too much. Mixing it with an exfoliant twice a week works though. I hate the bottle it comes in because you can't see how much product you have left, you just kind of run out one day. Lol.

Incredibly impressed. When I became pregnant, my hormones made my skin think it was fourteen years old again. And for me, that is not a good thing. I had some big events to go to, and didn't have time to go to the derm to get a prescription medication. Instead, I went to the drugstore and scoured the skincare aisle to try and find something to add to my regimen that could potentially help, even just a little. I picked up the AcneFree package with the cleanser, lotion, and toner (all safe to use during pregnancy) because the packaging was impressive looking. "Better than Proactive," it boasted. And for three products, the price wasn't half bad (I think it was close to $30 including tax). My skin isn't super sensitive, but over 2% benzoyl peroxide certainly has the potential to dry it out or turn it red. Surprisingly, these products did neither. And right away I saw a huge difference, which I felt was incredible for something I had picked up off the shelf of a chain drugstore. Once I managed to get the big plastic case open, I was pleased with the sturdiness of the separate bottles. They don't fall over, they don't cave in, and they distribute the right amount of product. This stuff was a real lifesaver.

I bought the free standing purifying cleaner ons have used it twice a day for the past 2 days. I have not had any dry skin in response to this cleanser. I wanted to try the cleanser out because I bought the sulfur mask a week ago. I used the sulfur mask as a mask and I've continued to use it as a spot treatment because I've had success with sulfur spot treatments but they were to pricey for me. When I saw the mask I decided to try it on a few spots and it's done a great job of clearing up those spots in one night. Anyway, I decided to use the cleanser and I like it thus far. There are only a couple of complaints I have with this cleanser. #1: I do not care for the packaging (as others have pointed out). It's hard to get the stuff out. #2: it doesn't create any foam. Personally, I need some foam to let me know it's cleaning. In orde to create foam I have to use my face brush. Although it's a gentle brush and I don't really use much pressure, I don't believe I should have to use it in order to create foam. On the other hand I'll eventually figure out if this stuff is actually working in conjunction with my regimen.

Regimen: MORNING. ~Acne Free Purifying Cleanser along with Sephora face brush
~ Sea Breeze Toner
~ moisturizing primer

NIGHT: ~ Acne Free Purifying Wash
~ Sea Breeze Toner
~ Acne Free Nighttime Leave On Foam (retinol)
~ Acne Free Sulfur Mask as spot treatment if need

Weekly: ~ Acne Free Sulfur Mask 2-3x a week as a mask
~ St. Ives Gentle Apricot Scrub (exfoliating beads instead of apricot pit particles)

UPDATE: I bought the Severe Acne system and so far I like it but the rearing lotion is a little too harsh. By this I mean it makes my skin sting around my eyes. I don't apply it to any of the skin around my eyes but when I go to put my primer and foundation over it I feel a stinging around my eyes. Even though I let it soak into my skin for about 10 minutes it still manages to travel up around my eyes with the application of my foundation :(. I've had this same type of reaction with the oil of play face lotion and I had to stop using it because it not only stung my eyes but after a couple of days my eyelids became dry and wrinkly and not to mention puffy. In order to avoid this reaction with this Repair Lotion i'm going to stop using it and replace it with clean and clear dual action moisturizer

I purchased Acnefree 2.5% bp cleanser that was not a part of a kit titled "Oil Free Purifying Cleanser - Original Improved forumula. It is a very thick cream cleanser with a small amount of exfoliating beads. Overall, I am really happy with this product. I wanted to try a new cleaser that contained bp to kill bacteria. This product does not break me out and seems to have helped with some clogged pores. Wish it had more exfoliating beads but I think it is supposed to be "gentle." Love that this has no added fragrance but it doesn't smell wonderful but not bad. I really hate the packaging though. It comes in a tall bottle with a flimsey flip cap but the product is so think it is very hard to squeeze it out of the bottle. Even when I remove the cap it is so hard to get out. Either way, if it works I will deal with the crappy packaging.
